poor customer service
My insurance has required me to use CVS/Caremark for maintenance prescriptions. Caremark made two errors (sent wrong dosage) and recently did not inform me of a major change to the recommended dosage of a medication. They preferred to sell and ship their stock of the existing dosage rather than email me re. the change and offer me the option of getting me a new presription. Very self-serving.
untimely service
This company has had my mothers medication the dr's office faxed it to them on Friday called them today Sunday they still did not have them filled. My name is Sidney Riley 753 CR 2070 Gainesville Texas 76240. Really unsatisfied with their staff service and poor handling of customers
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Did they say they got the faxed prescriptions?
When did they say the prescriptions would be ready?
Sometimes faxes don't go through.
lost prescriptions
I have been to the Hudson, MA, CVS store several times recently when no prescription was ready. They looked through files, consulted with other clerks, searched through the computer, to come up finally with 1 (out of 2) prescriptions for me. When I called the prescribing physicians' offices, they always submitted the prescriptions at the same time.
If this was not an ongoing problem with this specific location, I would not complain. What is wrong with this Hudson location? Please fix it!
rx not ready when went to pku 3 days later
I dropped off my prescription on 5/26/11, went back 5/28/11 to pick it up, no one called to tell me the eye drops had to be order and would not be in. Spoke with the Assistant Manager, Mr. Dale who apologized for the situation and advised me to call the corporate office. I advised him that I would like to be compensated for gas because I live almost 17...

elf Checkout is Bad Business. I have been shopping there for years about twice a week. (The expanded food section keeps me coming) They have everything. CVS Boylston St. Boston Has moved to primarily self checkout. I HATE IT. I spoke politely with the very nice manager who said he would pass it on.
They actually try to beg you out of the "human being" line saying "happy to check you out" Great employees, great store Lousy Idea.
People are voting with their feet. Lines at the real people check-out empty self check-out with nice employees offering help. If Costco opens near here - I'm gone over this one issue.
It is CVS saying ( insert expletive) to its customers. They say its about convenience (theirs) OK so have 1 or 2 not almost all !
took money from my account without authorization
I really need help. I have had a mail order pharmacy called Caremark take it upon themselves to renew a prescription of mine and deducted the money from my checking account without my approval. I didn't even need the prescription yet. They even had the nerve to tell me that I couldn't do anything about it! It isn't right for a pharmacy to make the decision to refill a prescription with the money I may needed to go to the doctor or pay the electric bill! I'm at my wits end and don't know what to do. They left me with just $6.64 in my account.
store safety
Since my arrival to California I have been a loyal customer of this store. Unfortunately I have been very disappointed with the lack of care management has for their own employee and loyal customers. It has been two times that I have felt my life in danger while being in this store. Today 05/21/2011, will be the last time I enter this store. It has been...

Rude pharmacy manager in CVS Hampstead, NC. Explain to me how 3 pharmacists can not count to 30! If you go to this pharmacy count your prescription and hope that they don't treat you like a criminal when you bring to their attention that they gave you 25 pills instead of the 30 prescribed. This is not the first time this has happened at this pharmacy. They need to be investigated or the pharmacists be given drug tests.

ready fill program
i've been going to cvs for years now, just recently they say my insurance won't allow the ready fill program. so i decided to call my insurance company and low and behold they have nothing to do with cvs ready fill program, it's just a courtesy for their customers. so apparently the people who work for cvs blatantly lie to their customers. well they can say good bye to this customer as i have transfered my 15 prescriptions to rite aid maybe they'll appreciate my business and the money from the insurance and also the numerous relatives and friends i've talked to who will be switching pharmacies.
State Medicaid programs and some insurances do NOT allow Ready fill programs as they do not want to refill prescriptions earlier than prescribed by the doctor. CVS system does not allow to enroll in readyfill in this case. No one is lying!
their no good
Dollar general "makes" me use this company otherwise I would not set foot in this place!
I have never been to cvs to pick up my medications that I have not had problems
Call in meds hours or days before pick up,
There not ready, stand at counter 10 plus minutes waiting for someone to wait on you, very rude employees, can never find your meds, their always looking in every cubby hole there. Physican calls in prescriptions, yet they say he hasn't. Funny to me I never had these problems at my hometown pharmacy. Two different times I have turned in prescriptions for 90 day supply, they would fill them with 30 pills, then I would return in 30 days to get refill and would be told "your insurance will not pay for them because you don't have a 90 day order". You will have to pay for them yourself.
"ok what happen to the other 60 pills" once I went to pick up meds and of course there was problems and it would be about 2 hours till ready, told them I had drove 50 miles to get them and I was not going home and driving 50 more miles for them, he replied "I had to drive here to" who cares thats his job and yes I told him that!
They do not care about their customers.
If dollar general cared about their employees and their hometown then they would allow them to shop in their hometown.
CVS/CAREMARK has given me nothing but problems too! The worst one was when I went for my meds, they REFILLED a narcotics prescription for me! That is just one! How about that they refilled my regular prescription and the bottle said 3 prescriptions left. Keep in mind that I am forced to take a 90 day supply at a time so that is 3 scrips! The next time I got them the bottle said 2 scrips left. I can only get three at a time so that means I cant get my other 2 scrips now! I hate CVS! I have many more complaints!
Please be familiar with your insurance. We are pharmacists, charged with filling the correct drug with the correct labeling for the correct patient. I addition to servicing over 300 customers per day (with multiple rx's, mind you), the last thing we have time to do is decipher YOUR insurance. Also, from what I hear, For at least the next year, CVS/Caremark will allow patients to "opt-out" of the mandatory mail or or CVS fills. You must call your insurance company and use the words OPT OUT to allow you to fill at your pharmacy of choice. WHY would a pharmacist say an rx hasn't been phoned in when it has? That's just a loss of $$ for us. Just once, I'd like for the patient to understand that maybe, JUST MAYBE, the nurse charged with phoning it in actually was a little behind for the day, and hadn't yet phoned it in. Right, because it's ALWAYS the pharmacists fault.
photos
In [protected] I always did my photos with kodak. Sent them out so I knew that the photos would be the way that they are sopposed to be. All photos were great, indoor, outdoor all were fine, until I had cvs develop my film. Come back in an hour I was told. Get my photos that were taking in the middle of the day, outside, photos of a rainbow at 4 oclock in the...

Hello,
I am a loyal customer and sibling of a CVS employee. It has come to my attention that there are hostile work disputes. Jarrod Williams is acting childish talking about other employees towards the customers and causing disputes that cause the employees and customers time and money. This has been going on for a while and I have heard of these childish acts being done right in front of me. This is very disturbing, and would like this to be dealt with. I have informed him of what he is dong and has contacted the CVS "Human Resources" and city law enforcement. As if I was going to physically attack him, which I do not intend to do. As well as I have informed him it was not a physical threat. I insist that this be dealt with or corrected, because this can affect your business, customers, and employees. He is an employee of the CVS of Red Oak TX, store #7675.

long wait to drop off rx
I have gone here twice to drop off my sister's prescriptions. I waited over 25 minutes behind one customer and then the clerk took a phone customer before she took me. They need to have 2 people at all times just to drop off a RX. What is wrong with this
management who doesn't hire enough staff?
I would never use this pharmacy for myself and they need to have a competiter closer.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Short answer yes. Corporate tell how many every store how many hours is budgeted per week and the pharmacy has to oblige by it. If you go over budget, or people need to stay overtime to help customers, the pharmacy manager gets chewed out. The situation gets worst every year. Employees workloads are increased while hours are slashed.
In 2010, the outgoing CVS CEO received $120+ million in compensation, but everyone else didn't get a raise or more hours. =)
Please be nice to employees, it's usually not our fault. We're stressed. We feel like we're always playing catchup. We work for 4+ hours straight until our lunch and 'work off the clock' to finish all the tasks that needs to be done. Even though we can get 15 mins breaks as required by law, we usually skip this because we'll just get further behind. In this economy, it's hard for people to find better work and corporate uses this very well. If you decide to make a complaint about wait times, do NOT mention any store or any names, only a region or county; otherwise, the employees might be written up.
unable to scan iphone for use of extracare card
I have this app. on my iphone called Keyring were you can download the keyring card information from your Exracare Card and use it vs. having to have your keys with all those rings on them. well I have had my iphone scanend several times before today, where this CVS employee rudely tells me "i'll scan it this one time, but we can't scan phones anymore"...

On May 8th, 2011 I bought a box of Total Cereal. A sale sticker indicated it was 2.47 on sale. I didn't notice until I got home that I was charged 5.89. On May 12th I went back to the store; the sale price of 2.47 was still on the shelf. The clerk looked at it and ripped it off and said that sale price was two weeks old, and it was not valid. I think the sale price should have been honored.

I thought it more convenient to transfer my prescriptions from Target to CVS since they have drive thru and I have both hips replaced. However, I dropped off my written scripts around 4pm. I was told they would be busy and could I come back at 8pm. They would be ready! Lol!
They were in computer but no time to fill. Lol! Would I come in store and wait another 20-30 mins. I believe it is a scam to get you in store to spend more money. In the meantime, I needed my mess and antibiotics for my daughter's strepthroat. Mgr needs to addess his pharmacy turnaround times. Brain storming is a start and flow charts to see where the holdups are occurring ASAP.
Dissatisfied Customer from Porterville. I hear the other two CVS's are just as bad!
"Mgr needs to addess his pharmacy turnaround times. Brain storming is a start and flow charts to see where the holdups are occurring ASAP."
I think the pharmacy manager understands this problem and is unable to do anything about it. Braining storming and flow charts aren't going to help.
The answer is obvious: not enough employees/work hours. Cooperate dictate the employee hours budget for each store, but never gives enough to sufficiently run the store smoothly. Employees don't take their minutes breaks unless they have to go they really have to go the restroom to finish their task. We're stressed, treated coldly by corporate, and paid poorly; but we need to eat.
I guarantee you that 99% of the when we're on a computer, we are NOT trying to look busy.
What we are doing:
-typing prescriptions that was faxed in, phone in, sent electronically (yes, we have to re-type electronic prescription because the are written uncleanly or using medical abbreviations/codes/jargon)
-process prescription through insurance
-take care of insurance problems / rejections
(the above 3 takes the majority of our time, insurance is the most useless time-waster for us in the pharmacy)
-schedule prescriptions to be processed
-prepare faxes to be sent to physicians
-doing special instructions for patients (i.e. preparing prescriptions for delivered)
-ordering
-look up drug information
-complete required training
-call patients regarding their medications
unprofessional lead technician
On Monday April 25th 2011 I went into the cvs store 6045 to fill a prescription for my surgery the next day. As the young girl behind the counter April, was checking all my information i got a phone call. Now the lady next to April's cubicle Irene Sutton(lead tech) very rudely turned to me and said you need to get off the phone or move over there, pointing to the front of the store. I was in shock then she proceeded to say your voice is so loud i cant hear myself think. I mean this is a person that is suppose to help people she was the most unprofessional and rude person i have ever met. You do not talk to a customer like that. How could you have a person work for you like that? it makes your whole pharmacy look bad she is the lead technician. When i asked Irene for her name because i said you cannot speak to a customer like that she then screamed to me "make sure you spell it right. " I mean how do you have someone working for you like that just a rude person. When I went to the manager for a number to call on this rude tech she told me that I was not the first complaint today about her. She had two complaints in one day. Why would you keep someone around like that.I have always filled my prescriptions at this cvs but I will not fill them there anymore if that lady is whats running that pharmacy.

um... manners are out the window in this day and age, are you kidding me, you are writing a complaint about this, maybe you should take a look in the mirror before you act next time... I'm glad the cashier did what she did, maybe you'll learn next time how to behave, then again maybe you won't, all depends how you were brought up
As someone who did a lot of cashiering in my beginning in the work force, I am happy to see all of your responses. When someone talks on a cell phone during a transaction, it increases chance for error, it increase length of transaction time, and it's down-right impolite. I bet the poster wouldn't like it if their cashier were talking on their cell phone.
You were more rude by answering your phone in the first place
accused of stealing
I am very disappointed with the event that occurred this Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 9pm. I live very close to this store and walk there almost daily for almost all of my shopping needs. I was in the store purchasing cranberry juice this evening and as I was checking out I was asked by a tall, blond manager to "take the bottle of alcohol out of your pants". I was absolutely shocked and enraged to be accused of stealing. There were many customers in line; i was embarrassed and very upset. I am a well educated, 31 year old business professional and normally dress in suit and tie. This Saturday evening I was wearing jeans and a nike sweatshirt. I have never been treated this way before and I am convinced my casual attire (perhaps combined with my race-this is 90% Caucasian area) played a role in her unjust accusation. As I left the store I asked for the manager's name- Ruth Doyle so I could contact their corporate office regarding this matter. I expect an apology from this woman for treating me this way and embarrassing me in front of others in my neighborhood. I have spent thousands of dollars in this store and see no reason to shop here ever again. I will be sure to let all of my neighbors and friends now about this incident and the terrible, unprofessional attitude of this manager. I

Stay off your phone. I would have crammed it down your throat
While she should have apologized and been more discreet, she does have the right to accuse you if she has reason to suspect you of theft. Maybe you were acting suspicious or she thought you had picked up something and didn't pay. People make mistakes.

OMG, where do I start? I filed 3 paper claims for a prescription that would have reimbursed me a measly $35.00. I have been speaking to reps, supervisors and incompetent people who cant seem to communicate with the paper claim people and the processing people, and their best answer is " I dont know" when you ask the status of the claim. I have sent it all to a rep in San Antonio, apparently a big wig supervisor who has yet to call me or email me like I have requested. I have left phone messages to supervisor: Diana Barbosa. Is there such a person? That is what her voice mail calls her. Then I call and talk to Euginia who actually emailed me, and now her emails are getting bounced back as a failure 2 days later. I wont give up until I am deemed the biggest pain in the butt, or until I have my claim is paid, as it should be. I have a right to file my claim and get it paid for. This company must be a great example of the biggest scam out there. Stay far away from CVS caremark. They are the worst at customer service and dragging their feet when you have to file a claim. It has taken 4 months since I have filed this, and it is still not resolved. You also wont ever find me in their drugstore either, ever again. Word of mouth is a powerful tool, and they should not underestimate the power of social media and the internet. I hope the company sinks like a ship to the bottom, which is where they deserve to be.
