CVS pharmacist filling a prescription incorrectly

I picked up a prescription at this pharmacy above today for an antibiotic known as a Z-Pac. 6 pills to be taken over 5 days. I was told the pills come sealed in a package that visibly shows all the pills sealed to the pharmacist initially that he then places into a small box with the name of the pharmaceutical company that manufactures the pills, before it is given to the consumer. The box therefore is not sealed when you get it, though the pills are sealed in their package which you have to pop them out of in order to take them.
When I got home and opened the box, two of the 6 pills were missing and had clearly been popped out of the package. I went back to the store to report what had happened.
The pharmacist who was filling my order clearly should have seen that two of the pills were missing when he was putting them into the box I received. He did not see this.
Clearly someone behind the counter, either a pharmacist or a clerk at the register there had been helping themselves to antibiotic medication illegally. How they expected to get away with it is beyond me since it should have been obvious to the pharmacist filling my order that pills were missing from the package. But they did not see this so even the pharmacist filling my order screwed up as well.
This shows someone is abusing the drugs at this store, very likely an employee working the register behind the counter or a pharmacist themselves.
Never encountered an issue like this ever. But customers using this store should be aware that abuses are going on behind the counter where drugs prescriptions are filled. I reported this to the Corporate headquarters for further investigation. Let's hope they take this seriously.

CVS pharmacy

I am not sure why this pharmacy has so many issues, There is not a RX that my doctor sends that there has not been an issue with. I take Noro which is a controlled medication, I have a contract with my doctor that I get my RX from her and they have to be filled at the same location. Which is the one above, I no longer live close to this location. Since they never fill on time, I have to call. Just like right now I am on hold waiting for someone to answer I am going on 27: 39 min. AT 35 min I have hung up. Last month the same thing happened, I wanted to make sure that it had been filled when I got there of course my Rx was not filled. I was told it would be another hour I was late for work by 30 min waiting for this. When I asked "why" the girl behind the counter thought she would be cute and start yelling at me (I do mean yelling) about how behind they are and that of course they did not answer, they did not have the time nor staff to answer the calls. Why is that my problem? The night before this, I had called in which they did answer and I was told I could not pick it up until the next morning, when I got there I told this young lady that I should have a RX waiting. She told me, "no" "you don't, I said I called last night.. she cut me off spun the cash register around and said,"do you see it on here". She pissed me off pretty badly enough that she was lucky I did not snatch her [censored] across the counter. The Pharmacist when asked about it, said,"Yeah I saw it this morning." (The same Pharmacist that 3 months ago while visiting my children in Texas I had to fly back here to get my RX straightened, out all because she did not know there was a 2nd computer screen to look at. You should try calling maybe you can see what your customers go there here is the number 530-268-3753. Now I am out of my medications and I have to drive 25 miles right now in the middle of my work day. I bet it is not ready and I have to wait an hour. Which is not tolerable. Are you going to pay me for my time and aggravation of having to put up with this girl who needs an attitude adjustment. Maybe if she got some customer service skills this would not be a complaint, but more of understanding, Customer Service politeness!. My apt with my dr is next month I do not have insurance and pay out of pocket. I will request a new contract and go to Riteaid. This is ridiculous!

CVS pharmacy

I wanted to make you aware of the issues im having with this CVS Pharmacy. I am about a year into using this CVS. This is because my insurence company makes me fill there. The closest one is an hour drive so I have to plan well for my trip. Since I have switched these are the problems I have had.
*Shorted 10 antibotics
*Wrong dosing on my bottle of thyroid medication
*Ran out of medication for my thyroid although I refilled online. I got it 3 weeks after I ordered it (ordered early as possible so this wouldnt happen)
*Ran out of my anxity medication although I refilled online. They told me that my doctor gave them the wrong fax # altough hes been there for years and I had been filling my scripts there for over a year with the same doctor. My doctor faxed in the refill and also left a verbal message that they didnt find until I called and continued to tell me the fax # was wrong. (got this a week and a half after I ordered online)

This pharmacy is constantly understaffed. They put signs on the drive thru window that says (Only two on staff be patient) and it takes forever. This is NOT the customers problem.

I am also a insulin dependant diabetic with ptsd. When are they going to run me out of the two different insulins I use or my medication for PTSD? Someone needs to look into this pharmacy before they screw up and someone gets seriously messed up.

I dont want to leave CVS because I like the prices and honestly dont have the time to switch. I cant be left with an incompetent pharmacy that could get me seriously sick. Please look into this and see what changes can be made.

Thanks Laura Johnson

CVS missing product from bag

on 1/27/19, I made a purchase when I got home one CVS Magnesium 400 mg was missing from the bag. I Iooked all possible places. The following Saturday, 2/1/18, I returned to the store. The manager said she watched the video and both bottles were placed in the bag. I wasn't happy with the inconvenience but what could I do? I went home and checked again...the bottle of magnesium is no where. I would have felt it fall to the ground in the CVS parking lot. Can someone please check the video again to confirm that Brian, the clerk, definitely put the magnesium in the bag? I feel like I do not want to return to CVS. Possibly you'll see some element of doubt on the video. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.

CVS store manager

I just visited the local CVS at the address referenced above and was shocked at the icy treatment I received at the checkout counter. To my dismay, I believe the woman who waited on me is the new store manager there.

Several items to report:

1. I approached Angela (name found on receipt) at the front counter to ask if I could use a 40% off one item coupon and a 15% off one item coupon. My intention was to buy two items, using a coupon for each. She immediately replied, "Not on the same item, " which I already knew.

2. Shortly thereafter, I approached the register with the two items I wished to purchase -- Cerave foaming cleanser and Brach's cinnamon Valentine heart candy. I stated that I wanted to use the 40% coupon on the cleanser and the 15% coupon on the candy. She advised me that the 15% coupon could not be used on the candy because it was on sale. I told her that I saw no sign on the candy, to which she had no reply, just a cold stare. I took the candy back and verified that no sign was there. When I returned to the counter and said that I would simply purchase the cleanser, I stated that perhaps a sign should be placed at the site of the candy. Again, no reply and no apology for my inconvenience. Instead, she said, "I'll need to scan your CVS card again to ring up the sale."

REALLY?

Trust me, your new store manager needs to be counseled soon, because people who shop in this store are accustomed to extra friendly and helpful store personnel, not those who appear to be inconvenienced by simple requests. Less than a mile away from CVS sit Kroger, Meijer and Walmart -- places where many of the products in the CVS store can be purchased. CVS prices on name brand items are typically higher than those of their neighbors on Main Street in Hamilton, but I shop at CVS with the in-store coupons because the store is close to my home and the personnel, up until now, have been exemplary.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Paula Scharf

CVS rph ashley l. albano

I have been going to CVS all my life in many different states in the U.S. My problem began when this pharmacist started working there in Dec. 2018.
1. My pain medications have been out of stock for 5 consecutive times (1 or both of them). I get one pain med. filled every 2 weeks and the other every 28 days. I have NOT had this problem in the past, and I questioned her why this was all of a sudden happening where it was never a problem in the past and her answer was " more people are bringing in prescriptions and asking for these pain meds". When I asked her why then doesn't she request more when she orders and her reply was " I can only order so many".. Please explain to me why this was never a problem in the past and JUST STARTED happening when she started working there.
2. She has no customer finesse . I have had to speak to her a number of times, I introduced myself on the first and have addressed her by name every time I have had a conversation with her. Never ONCE has Ashley called me by name. She never smiles. She takes forever to fill a prescription and today was told that you can no longer request a waiting label and that my prescription would take a hour to fill. I have never BEEN TOLD THIS BY ANY OTHER PHARMACIST.
3. I have spoken to the other employees on the side and she is not liked by any one of them I have spoken to.
4. Ashley has completely turned a very pleasant experience into a miserable one. I don't ever want to go to that store again and I am sure I am not the only one having this problem.
5. If you care about the reputation of CVS pharmacy GET RID OF HER!

CVS moneygram service

I would like to know why some of the personnel in this store are arbitrary about assisting with the process of the new Moneygram service in the store. A good friend of mine went in there recently and one of the employees told her that she wouldn't assist her because if anything went wrong she would be accused of fraud and so she refused. My friend forgot her ID so of course she had to go back home to get it. Then she came back and wanted to do the Moneygram and one employee directed her back to the employee who refused her. Then my friend told that person that she'll wait for a different person. The person (employee) arrived and assisted my friend and she told her that the last person was giving her a bunch of false information and she was in the wrong for doing that. Now I'm not sure if she was reprimanded or not-maybe she's just a lazy employee. I'm retired and from the old school and when someone tells you to do something at the work site, you do it, and if you need to be trained on something then ask for training. I see that a lot of pharmacies and other stores have their employees cross-trained which I think is a great idea. thank you

CVS urgent delivery failure

CVS Specialty Pharmacy failed to deliver seizure medication ACTH for our five month old infant son who has been diagnosed with Infantile Spasms, a very rare and very serious form of epilepsy. They told us the medication would be sent overnight and would require a signature (due to the astronomical cost. The medicine was not even sent. We did not get a phone call and they have both my number and my wife's number. Zero notice and our precious baby boy will not have his daily shot. If he has seizures it causes neurological development problems, and he screams in shock and pain. This compounded by the irresponsible voice answering system they have. After 25 minutes in a "your phone call is important to us queue, " I finally gave up and pressed "1" to leave a message and be called back. When I pressed "1" the voice system told me the mail box was full. And there was no way to get back into the queue. So I called back. 20 minutes on hold later I was answered by a person who assured us they would send our son's refill medication overnight so he would get his dose. I left early from work to get to the UPS Store before they closed so I could pick up his medication. No delivery. No phone call. You can imagine how my wife and I feel tonight knowing our sweet baby boy will not have his medication.

CVS Milk

I bought milk on january 20, 2019. I did not have much choice. I usually buy gallon of skim milk, expiration date was january 23. I could not buy skim milk, I tried 1%, expiration was january 27. I new it will be no good. I need at least two weeks before expiration.
I am writing now because milk got spoiled yesterday january 25 and I threw it out.

This is not the first time that this happened, but it is first time I am writing about.

Ps.
I mentioned it to the manager on january 20, he was not very happy with me.
I came to the store in couple of days after, the management was very rude to me.
I have a feeling, they do not want to see me there.

CVS cvs pharmacy staff re: lantus insulin

I called cvs Pembroke/federal, Hollywood, Florida 19549217747 on January 17, 2019 to refill 3 prescriptions, 1 of which was my insulin. The pharmacist said she would have to call the doctor to refill.

I received 2 scripts a couple days ago. No insulin. The pharmacist checked records to say doctor sent script to skokie, illinois and she would request insulin for the next day delivery. (they were out).

Today is january 23. After receiving no text messages saying my script was ready I stormed in today at 5:00 and with no feeling and a matter-of-fact statement, the (lazy!) pharmacist says no insulin for me. At first, she claimed it was not delivered. I told at her to find me some! 2 days?
Her excuse was there were only 4 pens. Who cares, lady? Then there were 5. She was full of bull the moment she opened her mouth. I told her to look in the fridge. Somehow she found some. She claimed that it arrived? But that it wasn't returned? Returned from a customer? No returned to the fridge? I don't know. I don't care. What was it doing out? Is it still ok?

I just seems your people are lazy and non-caring. They don't stock refrigerated insulin immediately, just when they feel like it. They are trained to care a heck of a lot more about the inventory, the computer screen, and nobody gives a crap that I am a sick person and I need my meds and I don't ever expect a 5 day delay. She should have offered me other solutions. One pen. Or a needle and some insulin.

CVS denying a customer narcan against state law, refusing to give me supervisor's name, hanging up on me

Yesterday (1/19/2019) around 3 pm, my friend called me in a panic asking where she could get narcan as she had encountered two men who were displaying effects of opioid use (she had already spoken with first responders on scene and wanted some to carry on her person). I told her to go to the closest pharmacy to her at that moment, which was the CVS Pharmacy located at 481 Lincoln Street, Worcester, MA. She was rudely told by 2 pharmacy staff members that she needed a prescription. I had already relayed my knowledge of the standing order in MA that no person may be denied narcan from any pharmacy to her. She was then told by them to walk down the street to the methadone clinic. I called the pharmacy and spoke to the woman in charge at this time, she took my name and number and said she knew nothing about this law and would have to speak with her supervisor, so I then asked for their name and if I could speak with them and she told me that she would not be giving any names out and then hung up on me. Within minutes I was in my car on the way there, when she called me back and told me her coworkers told her about the law and that my friend could come back and get some. Meanwhile, my friend had gone to a neighboring pharmacy and was given it no problem, along with a description of how to use it effectively. This is a life saving measure and a necessity in the world we currently live in. These staff members could have cost people their lives, and who knows how many others they have denied narcan to.

I have started the process of reporting that location to the Department of Public Health, and have also now heard from others that this has been an issue at other CVS locations.

CVS pharmacy in nipomo

The prescriptions are not being filled. My auto refills have been in process for a week. When I've tried calling there is no answer. You have to go into the pharmacy and hear them not answering the phone. Stand in long lines. When I get to an actual pharmacist, he's rude. I asked for status of my prescription. Explain I have to come in since not answering phones for over a week now. My auto refills aren't getting filled. His reply was that is true. I said of course, I hear your phones. I have to come in and stand in line to see when my prescription will be filled. If I need to transfer my prescription out I will. After whining, yes whining, how understaffed they are. To which I explained that I understand that people get understaffed. But, when dealing with medication you need to let people know which is not being done. They are not sending out text or anything. They are ignoring everyone. My medication is for high blood pressure. For which could cause problems. Then he said it will be done in an hour. When I pick up. They don't even tell me that he didn't fill my medication completely. Only 10 pills. 1 week later and still not filled. And this was the 2nd time going through this with them. I have to remind them to refill my prescriptions. Absolutely no customer service. It use to be a great place to go to. Especially because of drive through. Not anymore. I will be transferring my service elsewhere.

CVS use of plastic bags at cvs stores

In Beverly MA an ordinance to ban the use of single use plastic bags with a thickness of less than 4 mil came into effect on Jan. 1st 2019. The two CVS shops in Beverly have responded by using plastic bags with a thickness of 2.5 mil. Although it says the bags can be used 125 times, this is clearly not in the spirit of the ordinance and the result is that people will still use them as 'single use' bag and the damage to the environment continues. CVS - please set an example and do the right thing for our community and the environment

CVS pharmacist comments

On 1/11/2019 I was inside the store at the pharmacy to pick up several prescriptions for my disabled sister. Even though she'd been notified they were ready for pickup, the assistant was unable to find one of them. As I waited, the pharmacist was forced to handle the window customers. He did so very hatefully, at one point saying, "JESUS CHRIST! These people today!".
I gasped, along with the other four customers waiting.
His name is Christopher L. Collins, & at the very least should be reprimanded.
We would change pharmacies if my sisters Medicare costs wouldn't rise.

CVS buying a syringe

I have a prescription for medication that can only be administered with a syringe. I've had this prescription for about a year and CVS sells me the medication and syringes so I can inject the medication. A CVS Pharmacists (new to my store) refused to sell me syringes without a "prescription". She had already looked up my "prescription" on her computer to "validate" my medication that requires a syringe. She told me "I would need a prescription for "syringes" - separate from the "medication" prescription". I've never heard of this before. Why wouldn't my doctor not know he would need to write "two" "prescriptions"? One for the medication and one for syringes to administer it. I asked the Pharmacist if she could tell me CVS's policy regarding the sell of syringes. She said she would not. And called the store manager to deal with me. I still have no idea how I can get syringes from CVS anymore. Does anyone have any info?

CVS employee located at cvs pharmacy in target, auburn, ca

I currently work for a pharmacy and have run into a major issue with one of the employees within this last week. Her name is rachel and she was last spoken to on 1/15 at 10:40 am regarding a request to cancel a prescription as a pt was waiting at our pharmacy. I got the same response from her as i have last week regarding two separate occasions for prescription transfers, "that the provider needs to stop sending prescriptions 'accidentally' as it is very annoying and time consuming." previous incidents occurred on 1/11, /1/8 and 1/7.

I have worked for cvs pharmacy for quite a few years before the company i am at now. Never have i ran into an issue with any pharmacy with any worker being nearly as rude. We can understand locations get busy and the request for their assistance regardless of what the issue is (prescription transfer, cancellations by a physician, etc) is expected as a courtesy at their convenience. A simple "it will take me some time" will suffice as an answer. However the extremely rude rant that rachel does every single time the two pharmacies i work for and our sister locations have called is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. Not only have we run into complaints by our fellow co-workers, but by mutual patients in which they have wished to transfer their prescriptions to us (almost on average 30 minutes out of their way) - solely because of this employee.

Please address this issue as soon as possible. This employee has gotten way out of hand within this past month. Thank you. The details for the store she is located at are as follows:

cvs pharmacy in target
2700 bell road

CVS norditropin copay assistance

My daughter has taken norditropin for growth hormone deficiency for many years and I have always received a grant to cover copays/deductibles from the healthwell foundation. It has always run smoothly until last year.in january 2018 they were supposed to bill healthwell for the $4027 copay to release the funds. All they needed was a piece of paper saying the name of the drug, what insurance covered and what the balance was. Every month they send me a bill for $4027 and said they never received healthwell's funding. I must have made over 100 phone calls including 3way calls with both companies. Every time they would assure me that the matter had been resolved and I was all set. The next month the bill would come again. Now I can't even fill my daughter's prescription. They are witholding it until I pay. So I call helathwell and they tell me cvs doesn't file the right papers and the cycle continues. I don't know what to do.

CVS they did not have the meds in stock and said it would take 10 days for this medication to come in

I am the caretaker of my 80 year old aunt who has had to move in with my sister due to her recent dx of Lung Ca.
This is the second time we have tried to get her pain meds filled and this pharmacy does not keep this medication in stock.
I know the government is cracking down on this type of pain medication but if she could wait 10 days to relieve her pain she would not need this medication at all.
So I stopped by the next day to see if by some miracle they had this medication in stock yet and the Pharmacist said very rudely advised me again it would take 10 days to get it in IT IS VERY OBVIOUS HE IS AFRAID OF ADMINISTERING THIS MEDICATION.
Help would not offer any solution nor would he help us in any way way just keep repeating nothing he could do it was a class 2 drug .
If your pharmacist are going to be this uncompassionate to their clients you need to fire them.
My sister has been doing business at this location for over 30 years and she is going to change pharmacies.
