We don't know much about how CVS handles customer complaints outside ComplaintsBoard, but what we see here, on our website, is quite disappointing. We think there might be reasons for the company's actions (like not knowing about the complaints), and we would be happy to see them among customer-focused businesses that easily solve customer problems. But until that happens, we ask reviewers to be cautious when dealing with CVS and using their services, and to carefully read the experiences of other customers on ComplaintsBoard, because who is warned is armed, you know! 💪

CVS return policy

On christmas eve I purchased 2 Sylvania notebook from this CVS.I stopped in on Dec.27 and asked for the manager.I spoke with Susan who said she was the manager.I explained to her I misplaced my original receipt and could the store use my statement from my bank as proof of purchase because I used my card as credit she said I could.Because she was the one I originally spoke to I asked her when she would be in. She says at 3 the next day.The next day I go to my bank was told the statement would cost me $5.00the teller checked to make sure the charge was on the statement before I left and was charged by them.I go back to CVS Susan looks at my statement sees the charge tells me that particular store number IS reflected on my statement but she looked in the office and they can not find the charge in their system.At this point all I want is a copy of the receipt.My sister and neighbor each took 1 of the notebooks off my hands but I wanted a copy of the receipt in case one of them needed.I gave her the date and time when I was in the store I also used my CVS card and she still tells me they can not find the transaction in the system even though I have PROOF with my statement from my bank with the amount and store info. I say to her I know stores do give receipt in case one is lost because I work for the local school system and the school bookkeeper always tell us if we purchase something for the school and lose the receipt to go back to the store and get a copy before submitting invoices to her so I know it is done. I asked Susan could she use the cameras as proof that I was in the store or my CVS card number to find it in the system.I said well it posted to my account 2 days later could she please look there she says no that it would have posted on that day.I will inform my school not to patronize CVS to purchase supplies for the staff or students because of BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. Let's not forget that it was Susan in the first place who told me the day before that I could use my statement

O.K here's the update I spoke to corporate and I should expect a copy of my receipt in the next week or so. According to customer service CVS actually keep customer receipts for 6 months.The young lady I spoke to says that the manager should have instructed me to call customer service and my problem would have been resolved. Oh and by the way customer service was able to pull my info with my card info as proof of purchase.

I have not. I am looking for the number as I type this. I may have found it from another complaint. I see this customer says it is 1-800-shop-cvs. I am calling now will keep you updated

And when I'm told that I have to much customer Service, and should try to tone it down or stray a little way from it, so I can get the daily stuff done. But when your the only one besides the cashier there ! How can I just say I'm sorry I can't help you out cause I have things to do? REALLY ! I don't think so ! Cause everyone knows that we usually have one line and one cashier, and we get nothing but complaints about that. 1 day I was checking cause my cashier went on break and it was only me . I Kidd you not my line was 30 deep and you know how many complaints I got? A BIG FAT "0
" and you know what I did get was compliments on how I handled the situation and how I multi-tasked and I made them feel at ease and getting them in and out and yet still having that one on one time with everyone that came through my line, even though the the circumstances.(I'm a shift supervisor) but my point is she wants me to tone down my customer service I don't think so because if it was anybody else they would've had if not half of those people walk out and pissed off and calling the CVS line but because of my personality and just how I work without getting frustrated without I mean this is it this is what we're given and we should just take a deep breath and smile . because in the end my work is going to reflect me her scheduling is going to reflect her so when they do call corporate line there not complaining about me they're complaining about her scheduling not me, there saying I'm fantastic and that's what I want. and that's what I drive for customer service, so no I'm not going to tone it down, I'm not going to stray away from it !this is me take me for who I am. I love retail and you truly have to have a passion & patients, understanding for it. Or just get out of it...

If you go back to CVS, you will need to keep the number...It's not the clerks fault, she was probably so tired from working so many hours, she probably didn't understand what you were even asking for...CVS don't like to have more then one employee in the store to work a full day, as it would cost them money...

CVS gernerics

CVS is constantly switching my name brand drugs to generics. I prefer all brand names b/c regardless of what they tell you, generics can have up to a 10% difference in the active ingredient. I work for a pharmaceutical company and know this to be factual; not just from my 18 months of rigorous training, but also from the doctors I call on daily. The issue is: The public consumers to not realize the facts. All pharmacies make a lot of money off of selling generic drugs. Of course they don;t broadcast this as it would look like they are greedy. I checked the prices for cash paying patients and there was a $30.00 difference in what CVS charges VS. Kroger grocery stores. Bottom line: If your insurance pays for the brand names you must INSIST that they provide you with the brand names. I have to tell them over and over each time. Many times the store won't even stock the brand names as they will tell you they have to order it so you will just give in and accept the generic. I am tired of pharmacies, particularly the CVS making my health care decisions for me. Side note... I don't know if pharmacists in other states have the right to change name brand to generics, but in VA they do. Also, you can request you doctor to check the box on the script as "formulary name brand" and then the pharmacist cannot change it.

I know proper grammar. Typos are common.
If you must be nosey and ask, I had a paper route and got no money from my Dad who was a single Father. When I was fifteen I got a worker's permit and worked at McDonald's . Most caucasian men stay around to support their children; but as always there are exceptions to the rule. My eldest sister had a worked at the church rectory answering phones. I was a waitress all through college and babysat to make ends meet. I just paid off my student loans about five years ago. The only thing my Dad provided for me was a roof over my head and some groceries. I have nothing more to say to you. And FYI I spelled you name incorrectly on purpose. Some parents' choose obnoxious names for their offspring that automatically put them at a disadvantage in the professional job force.
P.S., maybe you should break out a US History Book along with a grammar one.

I should re-phrase. We were on welfare for four years and I moved out at 18 and went to six years of college. I've had a job and been self- supportive since I was twelve. My family does not "breed" as you refer to having children. I'm glad you and your husband have children that are productive members of society. My story is not an excuse; it was told to show that welfare can be good to get back on your feet when one loses a job. Not when people want something for free. Most Americans have a sense of entitlement and think the government owes them everything. The government only owes what the Constitution says; "Life, Liberty. and the Pursuit" of Happiness." Notice the word "pursuit". That does not guaranteed anything but ones' right to make something of themselves if they choose to do so. I'm tired of half of my money going to obese, diabetic smokers who choose to eat and drink their life away. They drive up the cost of health care through doctor's visits, medication, oxygen tanks, home health care and the like. I'm not one bit worried about NOBAMA care; the congress will never pass it and 24 states have their own court trials going on now to repeal it. If you want to pay for it, by all means, go for it. PS: You may want to go back and review a grammar book or two.

My Dad's factory closed and moved to China. I find that most people like yourself are the ones' who breed w/o using birth control---- which you can GET FO FREE at the Health Dept. Yes I want restrictions! Drug testing, mandatory tubal ligation or vasectomies, NO manicures, NO cell phones. Welfare people should be MADE to do some type of volunteer work. Who cares about emergencies... we didn't have one and did just fine! Diabetes Type one is hereditary/ most type two are life style choices. How many women do you think have children by three or more father's that are on welfare? You are barking up the wrong tree "Dawniettttte!

My Dad is in a nursing home for a broken hip. He is 72 and will never walk again (he is in a wheelchair) due to the fact that Medicare will only pay for so many sessions. I live in a small city with many "out of the way" offices' who do not keep up with current standards. I volunteer at a Free Clinic in my area who help uninsured and / or underinsured patients. The other day a patient was taking Neurontin and a heavy dose of Lyrica. Even my Pain Specialists would know better than do do this; and they were not titrating down. She took both. I am 40 and do not know how these changes will affect me. Starting 1/1/11 my co-pay for meds went up $30.00 a script. I grew up on welfare and paid for my undergrad and grad degree so I could do better for myself. The obese, smokers, and those with cell phones would be drug tested b/ they receive any handouts. That would fix a HUGE problem right there.

Whether you believe it or not, there is a difference. I don't care wether it is my company or not, I still always get the brand name. If you prefer not to have samples to try, then don't allow drug reps in your office- that is what some people do. I get so tired of people putting down the pharma industry. If they did not exist, there would be no research into finding new ways to help patients. Yes, the brand name does help my company grow, but they have to recoup the cost of millions of chemists who sometimes spend their whole career w/o developing one drug that makes it. to market. I have never told a doctor to take a patient off of something that is working for them... only to give patients who are still in pain to consider another choice as an option. Some physicians don't keep up with the newer drugs, data and therefore are doing their patients a disservice. I see it everyday, in many offices I call on. I would never be a patient in any of their offices b/c they are usually more concerned about getting the patient out the door and refuse to do the prior authorizations if they do think one drug is better than another. And, if you don't want your reps to know the data, then you can opt out of that by going online and requesting it. I have several health problems and know that for myself the brand name works better. If you are a doctor then you know that after a drug goes off patent, within a few years so many companies begin making the drug that it is nearly impossible to make all of those companies put the same amount of active ingredient in them. The FDA and lawyers are more concerned with brand names being scrutinized because those companies have deep pockets. My rates have all gone up starting today. Obama is also affecting you as your medicare patients will give you less money. And you will also need to write a script for over the counter drugs. One of my rheumatologists just shut his doors b/c he cannot afford the cost of getting less for medicare patients. In addition I go to a very high end gyn office and my doctor will write for narcotics for a patient who is in severe pain. I also do know about some of the patients as my doctors (w/o violating HIPPA) share information with me about how the drugs are working in specific patients. So indeed I do have other concerns about generic vs. brand. BTW it is Ms. and Mister.

Well, you all can believe what you want. My insurance pays for the brand name and that is what I get. It is not the doctor's fault and you may think the company that makes some of your life saving drugs is all out for the money, and the drug stores are just as guilty. I have had several doctors ask me if I can get their patients the brand name for one of the anti-depressants my company makes that went generic about two years ago. The patients are not doing as well on the generic. Most docs would just blow this off b/c they don't want to deal with the issue. I know the inside scoop. There are only a handful of doctors I would even go to in this town after all I have seen and heard. If you want the cheaper version... go for it. Just keep in mind you get what you pay for. For now, I go to Target and have a great relationship with the pharmacy there.

Putting aside our disagreement on brand vs generic, I am in complete agreement with you regarding Medicare patients. You see, unfortunately I am now virtually unemployable after suffering a TIA several years ago and now receive Medicare. The practice that I worked for recently let me go as nicely as possible; but in all honesty I saw it coming. I, too, have a several health problems besides the lingering leftovers of the stroke (orthopedic in nature and not related to the TIA). All of my physicians keep up with new treatments/drugs that could possibly be used to my benefit, and now their hands are even more tied because of Medicare. In my wildest dreams I never would have imagined my life like this and Medicare so confusing and physician reimbursement so low. So far, the physicians I see now are the ones I've been seeing prior to becoming Medicare-eligible. The only one (for a kidney stone) that accepted me was because I was referred through an ER visit; he noted he will continue to be my urologist since he remembered me from "back in the day" so to speak as their practice is not accepting new Medicare patients except through ER on-call. (I expect most practices will figure out a way around that eventually.) My best to you, even though we disagree on the brand vs generic issue. Not trying to make this all political, but I'm not sure that this health care plan, if implemented as it stands right now, will be beneficial to the average person; already it's not affordable. Oh, noted, Ms. CDR!

As a "concerned drug rep" making folks believe generic forms of life-saving drugs are not as effective as their brand counter-parts could also work in your favor (in the form of job security, commissions, physician signatures, etc.). With the new rules and regulations put upon drug companies/reps and the economic situation right now, it is to your advantage to sample-out a patient (through the physician and/or surgeon) the name brand medication as long as possible. By seeing the "brand" over and over (and free for quite a while), this could give certain patients the feeling that only the "brand" works; more specifically, only YOUR brand works. I see this happen every week; and generally, it's the patient making the request and the physician agreeing if medically appropriate. The rep, who doesn't know the patient BTW, does know which particular med is moving. Even though it's a job perk, I personally don't use this sampling-out since I prefer to watch and learn. (No narcotics involved. This is a high-end ob/gyn office, which makes the sampling out even more sickening to me. These are folks who have insurance and can afford to pay a few extra dollars for brand versus generic ~~ or even pay for necessary meds period.) **Brenda--not responsible for typos or grammatical errors** O-O ~~ I'm not a concerned drug rep, I'm just a person watching our health care costs almost double in 2011, both in premiums, co-pays, co-insurance, and yes, brand vs generic. My favorite on the latter: a monthly analysis on how we can better save ... so Mr. drug rep, you probably should be concerned but maybe for other reasons along with brand vs generic.

Exactly, Mellen67. Of course any major pharm company would also make their own generic line. It's a win-win for everyone (except the ones who drank the kool--aid on that 10% thingy).

Since you're such a highly trained drug rep, why don't you just switch to another pharmacy? I had just the opposite experience at the CVS (in VA). My insurance company decided I could take a certain med at a much lower cost than the brand; pharmacist told me it wasn't going to work out for me. He was right, it didn't. After all the prior auth's and the mess that goes along with that, I was approved for the brand at the highest formulary tier. Also, our CVS will match a cash pay. I work in a doctor's office and have heard the "10% difference in active ingredient" in the generic brand from each and every rep as they're dropping off ("selling") their brand/product. Apparently that line is taught to all of the highly trained drug reps who visit our office; somewhat generic wouldn't you say?

CVS bathroom access denial

I am complaining about CVS Pharmacy located on Busse Rd and Golf Road in Illinois. To make a long story short, on Christmas Day my father needed to use the restroom. Due to his enlarged prostate, there was urgency to use the restroom. From my knowledge, I have never been denied access. My family shop at CVS all the time. He asked a white male working in the front and he said no he wont let him in. I am so dissapointed. What if my father could not hold it anymore and the bladder exploaded right there and then? How can someone deny someone access? I underestand if we were in the city and there is no public restrooms but we do shop at CVS, how can we be treated like this? Especially on Christmas Day.

It's a private bathroom, for employees only. They shouldn't be letting you use it in the first place.
But in this situation the kid was a ### and should've had some heart and decency and let him use it...

CVS denied precription filled

after leaving the emergency room i went to fill a prescription at the CVS pharmacy on the corner of 2nd street and Kennedy st NW on 12-17-10 around 4:30 pm...i was just released for Upper Respitory Infection and the meds was greatly needed. I walked to the drop off location before i even pulled out my prescription the pharmasist said " hi Miss just letting you know im no longer accepting prescriptions im very busy with no help...my help is on vacations so im not taking anymore prescriptions...sorry" i walked away...just because his help is on vaction what does that have to do with peoples health. we rely on CVS to fill our meds and be there when there supposed too not turn us away. that cvs is the only one in my area convient for me and my children. if they can not help than who will?

I've had my share of Pharmacy issues with the CVS located at 12th and Pennsylvania Ave in SE DC. After seeing this complaint I truly believe that CVS need to seriously revamp their Pharmacies that are having issues.

I completely agree with the majority. He was not being rude. She probably walked in ten minutes to closing time with 6 scripts in hand and expected that 1 person to get those entered into the system filled and verified within 10 minutes of closing. A pharmacist can refuse a script for several different reasons, if you're a Dr. shopper is the #1 reason, if you act suspicious is the #2 reason. Guess what dear, you left the ER, there is a convenient pharmacy located in hospitals so you have a place to "rely on" if no other place is accepting scripts or are closed for the day.

I think the customer should have had the option to do without for the night because of a reasonable excuse such as being shorthanded and having to wait till everyone ahead of them was taken care of or going to another pharamacy, but to me a flat out we arent taking anymore cause im to busy is just a cop out. Its your job. I know its hard with no help and the pharamacist did the right thing by being honest but should have given the customer the option instead of a flat out no .

I get that stealth but there is a way to be polite about it and maybe he was and the poster took it personally but going strictly by what is posted he allowed the fact that he was overwhelmed and overworked get to him and was rude to this person .

ok he was being honest but he could have been proffessinal about it and given her the choice to drop it off and pick up later or just flat out turn away customers, escpecially being the only location close by.

It sounds like the pharmacist was the only one there that day and his work load was too large. It sounds to me like he was trying to just be honest and let you know that there was no way he was going to get to it anytime soon, and just wanted to let you know in order to get it filled somewhere else quicker.

CVS hour cuts

CVS is now cutting hours come Dec 26th, into 2011.

Original CVS had scare hours, with one manager and one cashier to cover the day, and a little extra for deliver days, this skeleton crew will now be cut down to inoperable levels.

Store managers will be working 50-60 hour weeks and still: 6-8 hours a day the entire front store will be run by a single person. Cashiers will only be available during peak periods for maybe 9 hours of the work day.

This is an unbelievable slap in the face to its employees, there will be nation wide lay offs since we don't have the hours to keep the current staff at most stores and I'm terrified to see how stores and customer service fall apart entering 2011.

At our store here in Long Beach they cut alot of our hours but here their bringing people from other stores and giving them more can they do that?

Cvs is only worried about their bonuses and profitability and if it comes at the cost of cutting payroll, so be it. Most of my store now operates on 30 hours for hotly employees which is full time status so we can keep our benefits. But what good are benefits if you can't pay your rent or utilities?

One of the things they need to do is to change the hours of the stores to reduce the labor time, then get on the bandwagon with many of the other companies and close on certain holidays like christmas. Most of the Pharmacies open later and close earlier in alot of the stores so why cant the front store? Yes, they may lose the sales of the 3-8 people that walk in within the 2-3 hour span time of the rx closing who want that pack of ciggs or beer. Is it worth it? There may be a very small uproar among the regulars who frequent the store during that time for that one thing, but trust me they will eventually get used to the new hours and create a new habit. I hope good things come to those who are sticking this out with CVS and kudos to you for doing it.

I work at a store in Upstate, NY. We are a very busy store and we still seem very short-staffed for the people we got. Our pharmacist tries his best to schedule people and give them hours. His supervisor yells at him for doing it and so the next few weeks we are lucky to even get 21 hours. When we are used to doing 35 hour weeks as part timers. I know come spring time I will be looking for another job. I can't live on 15-20 hour work weeks, that so for a high school or college student, and even then the minimum wage isn't even enough to get by on.

CVS auto-checkouts

About a month ago, I went to my local CVS after a long day's work. I have been using this store for over 25 years. I was stunned to see several auto-scan checkouts instead of regular cashier stations. There was only one actual, human cashier who was taking customers. The staff kept trying to get us to use the auto-scans. I told the clerk that I didn't relish having worked from 5:30 AM (this was about 8PM) only to come into a store and be asked to do someone else's job for them. Enough already! We have to pump our own gas, ring up our own groceries and now check out our own items at the drug store? Are you kidding me? Is this economy, you are putting people out of work. If you'd like to offer a discount for customers who do someone else's job, then fine. Or if you'd like to come to my job job and do it for me, maybe we can work something out. But I implore you to get rid of the stupid machines and hire real people, who really need the money and the benefits. P.S. I haven't been back since.

Wow, you sure are a lazy individual, aren't you? And stupid, apparently. You do realize that those self check-out machines save companies money by not having to hire more employees. This helps keep them in business (and still keeps customers moving) so that instead of laying off half of their current staff to cut costs, they use the equipment so that they can cut costs without cutting any more jobs.

CVS missing pills.

I've recently went on Adderall at the end of October. I'm 28 years old and it's been a wonderful thing. I've been living with these 'issues' all of my life that I never really thought much about looking into, because I thought it was just me. Something I'd always have to deal with. When I went to my Doctor he prescribed me a 30 day quantity/ 60 pills to take twice a day. It should've lasted me over a month and a half (Because sometimes I only take 1 a day or sometimes I skip a day when not needed), but oddly I ran out before I thought I should. I wouldn't take them over the weekend on Saturdays and Sundays because I wouldn't be doing anything that required focus. I counted my pills at one point and had 14 left. I thought to myself, "I don't think this is right, but I'm not 100% sure." So I didn't do anything about it.

Well I went in and had my prescription refilled again Dec 8th, 5 days ago today. Again it was for 60 pills/twice a day. Since the 8th I've taken 6 pills. With Christmas coming up I've been extraordinarily busy and had taken them this weekend as well. When I opened the bottle today, I looked in and thought, "This is definitely NOT right, I have to be missing pills." So I counted them. And I counted 30 left. Really? 30? Was I trapped in some sort of time warp? That means I had a total of 36 pills on the 8th. I am missing 24 pills. At this point, knowing the size of the pills, 60 pills wouldn't have even fit in this container.

Of course the quantity was circled and initialed by the pharmacist. Well I called CVS and told them my problem. An hour later the pharmacist called me back and said the quantities at the store. And then of course blantantly 'suggested' that someone stole my pills. Let's just say they do Rude at this store pretty well. Can't even do a partial refund huh? No, of course you wouldn't offer that. Sorry no, my pills are with me at all times. Even though I only take them once a day they are either in front of me on my desk or in my purse when I leave my house. My purse never leaves my site.

I called my Doctor's office to let them know about this issue. Then I called them back with an updated status about CVS's quantity being fine. The receptionist and I had a little chat. She said well the Doctor's response will depend. I clarified, it's not and issue of me needing my certain # of pills to take. At this point it's about spending $20 on 60 pills when I got 36. Anyway my parents suggested I inform my Doctor's office, just to let them know basically. It's better to document this stuff in some fashion rather then not saying anything at all.

I was thinking about removing all of my prescriptions from CVS. It's true that after their first Manager left, Frank, the staff has been rude. Except for 1 young guy. Sometimes it take FOREVER to get a refill and twice now they've claimed that we didn't pay for a prescription and told us we owed them $20. Which was false of course.

On the other hand I'm half tempted to hold out, get it refilled and count them myself right there in the store so everyone can see it. :)

Anyway, I realize we can't really prove anything on either end at this point. But should I send them a letter about the incident so it's on record. Should I do anything? I would love a partial refund. Or maybe a sincere, "we're sorry for the invonvienance." Yeah that'll be the day.

I wonder if anyone else has had a similar issue at this store with missing pills if they could let me know.

I worked for CVS Pharmacy when they bought out Longs Drugs for over a year. The staff and pharmacists are only allowed several minutes to process and fill your prescription. When people work under this kind of pressure mistakes are going to be made, especially with the few people they have working in their pharmacies. I worked as a pharmacy technician and found the attitude of most of the pharmacists especially the pharmacy manager to be rude and they claim to be never wrong. They don't have time to spend talking to you with out the corporate office coming down on them, as every thing they do is monitored and the amount of time it takes them to perform their duties is also monitored and kept on record. It's what is know as Fast Food Pharmacy. It's corporate greed at it's finest. If they get a few lawsuits it doesn't matter to them, as long as their employees are pushed to produce at an unsafe speed. I've been there, I've seen it, I won't get my prescriptions filled there. Demand that the pharmacist counts your pills for you at the counter before you leave the store with them. Good luck.

Since most techs and pharmacists count by 5s, it seems pretty interesting that you were short by 24 pills. At my store, only the pharmacist has access to the Adderall, they at least double count the prescription amount, and then count whatever is left in the stock bottle. They have to write down the counts in the log book even. It would be very difficult for them to short you medicine in this fashion... It could happen, and mistakes can be made, but that is very sloppy on their end if that's the case.

I TOO have had this happen at the Liberty Mo. CVS I was short 13 from my vicodin script. Did they do anything of course not they are NEVER wrong!

You are perfectly within your rights to request that your adderall be counted in front of you when you pick up your prescription. We do this by request at my pharmacy. It is probably the easiest solution for you and the pharmacy. If you aren't getting good service, perhaps you should try a different pharmacy. Usually pharmacies with lower prescription volumes provide better service (such as independent pharmacies). They actually take the time to address customer service issues properly and give individualized service.

I get all of my prescriptions filled at Walgreens. I usually order online about 2 weeks before I run out and have them shipped to my house. So far, in 4 years time, I haven't had any problems. Occasionally, I'll have one filled at a store instead of mailing. They did send to the wrong store once but it is in the same town so not really a terrible inconvenience. I hope it all works out for ya.

CVS christmas cards

At CVS, there are many different Christmas cards yet none of traditional Christian scenes. The regrettable thing about Christmas cards which I miss is the religious pictures that they use to carry such as of Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus. I see more cards that often contain jokes. When I asked a couple of clerks, they both advised me to go to Hallmark. Millions of people send religious holiday cards to their loved ones. The winter holiday season is an important occasion that many people to focus on religion for their holiday celebrations. Remembering the reason for the season is a significant component of the holiday for many people.

This is sad. There goes Christmas ...

Has anyone noticed...what a Mess CVS store layout is? ...Who Designs this MESS a BLIND man...you can't find anything in a timely manner... let alone find it at ALL... Every store is Different some are good some are

Every CVS I have gone into has had everything well-organized and easy to find. Also, it's not a Wal-Mart when it comes to prices, and it's not supposed to be. It's a small store that thrives on small, secondary purchases.

CVS cvs does not care about it's customers

I am very sick today. I saw my doctor and she prescribed me antibiotics and requested that I also buy a probiotic that would help my body protect itself again a yeast infection from the powerful antibiotic. I called CVS to see if it would be ready, they said it would be a 2 hour wait. So 2 hours later I sent my husband to CVS to pick them up. After he left I remembered about the probiotic and called CVS to let them know and to ask if they could have a bottle ready with my prescription so my husband would not have to be searching through the store (not to mention be embarrassed by the isle of products that probiotics are found in). One person put me on hold, second person advised me of what I was looking for, and then a third person got on the phone and very rudely told me that, "we don't shop for customers." I wasn't asking him for a dozen things, just a simple bottle of over the counter medicine (or supplements or whatever). I was not able to get in touch with my husband so of course he came home without them. Now, as sick as I am, I have to go to the store to buy them. I can assure you that I will not be going back to CVS for this or any other future purchase. I will never step foot in their store again. There are plenty of other stores to buy these products. I shop all the time at CVS and have never even stepped foot in a Walgreens or Osco... I will be transferring all my prescriptions over to them. I think what the pharmacy did today was heartless, rude, and truly shows that CVS does not care about it's customers. Haverhill, MA, Main St.

When did people start to think that they should be able to call a store and ask for them to grab some items for you. That is what online shopping is for. The customers in the store suffer when lazy people who feel priviallged take time away from the rest of us that shop for ourselves then have to stand around waiting for the selfish person on the phone to be helped first. These type of phone calls should be against the law period

CVS judgmental pharmacist

Last night a CVS tech took my order, and it wasn't filled today when my husband went to pick it up. Upon speaking to the pharmacist, I was told 'with the current state of the economy, it's hard to get good help"--as if that had any bearing on the problem--sounded like an excuse pulled out of mid air, upon first glance.

In any case, I thought all was well until I picked up the script, and discovered it was one inhaler short. Mind you, this is the same med (same amounts) I've been receiving since 2005 with no problem. I called the pharmacist immediately, only to discover he'd file the insurance with an incorrect carrier, which would seem to solve the entire problem, right? But NOOOOO...I was then treated to a condescending, judgmental diatribe about 3 party payer problems, medicaid fraud, the incorrect writing of the script, and my lack of understanding of what was being said.

Just FYI, I am a 59 year old college graduate English major--which I promptly shared with the pharmacist, quickly pointing out he no knowledge of my particular situation, nor how I came to be in such dire straits. I stated I suspected this was probably the case with other customers, and informed him I'd phone my doctor first thing tomorrow morning to pass along the info from the CVS pharmacist that he'd written the script incorrectly, and asking him to please correct it.

This shallow, insulting person began to back peddle, and informed me it wasn't really a problem---after all, he was going to 'go ahead and give' me the second inhaler (mind you, HE was going to give me the 2nd one which has ALWAYS been a part of my prescription). I was so flabbergasted at his kindness ( to actually care enough to GIVE me the med) that I just said I'd still be contacting the doctor, and would pick up the script in the morning.

I am totally amazed at this entire encounter, and have phoned a neighboring pharmacy to transfer my prescriptions. The last thing I need is to have a pharmacy add to my illness.

The only reason I included this info was to point out to said pharmacist that, like him, I also had a college education--not to separate myself from any other customers. I was only making the point that he needn't be so condescending, as I considered myself and all other customers of his an equal, neither below, nor above, but directly equal. He obviously did not, up until the time I made him aware.

In any case, the area supervisor phoned me a few days later, and got all the facts. She will phone back after she has personally handled the matter with this pharmacist, saying no customer should be treated that way. She was emphatic that CVS had strict policies preventing customer's from being 'mistreated' in any way.

We'll see what the outcome is.

I have cashed in some earnings with PCH surveys. Amazon gift certificates (PCH doesn't pay cash), which is what I wanted, were not available. How can you run out of electronic gift certificates?

Watch out. Not all of the survey offers they send you earn points--even some of the ones that take 30 minutes or more. In addition, I took a survey that was supposed to have awarded 300 points. I followed all of the instructions and the survey showed up as completed on my account, but the points were never awarded. PCH claims it was a technical glitch and that I never really completed the survey.

I think I'll stick with Global Opinion or Survey Savvy.

Hello my name is Danielle Abate,
And I been shopping at cvs for over a decade and I spend way over the average customer you can look it up. Anyway I love shopping there and I moved to jersey city two years ago and every night I go shopping after midnight usually the women Patricia allways is very nasty to me and my fiancé . Tonight I was sick and went in asked her for medicine she told me get away from me! Look for pharmacy so I did not say anything I went on then I was going over to look for a sd disk for my camera and it was near were she might have to actually work and she said (( I'm not working the register go over to self pay )) I said I'm just looking for a sd disk for my camera and then I was upset I just wanted to get away from her so I rang myself up and after I did so I went threw all the steps and then of course the register broke so I said great these machines can be retarted some times and she said (( no you are retarted!)) I said excuse me ? She said they are all working just fine it's you! As the doors keep opening and closing and no one coming threw them! Something was clearly malfunctioning with the computers of the whole store and then she called me a rich ### when I said I shop in this store almost every night and you are nothing but plain old rude all the time I always say hello to everyone I pass and good evening and I refuse to shop in there as long as you have real rude employees and the other one just does not let you shop she talks to me about Patricia as if I care she will not let me shop keeps telling me these items what ever I pick suck and to go to Duane read it's cheaper well cvs is closer and I been shopping there for very long time and wish to continue to as long as you please do something with Patricia my mother came to vista me and one night we went to cvs and Patricia was working and my mom did not no anything about this and Patricia knew she was with me she saw me walk in and I said hello and she gave me a nasty look as usual and my mother asked her for her assistance and she told her it's her break time! How rude now that is my mother and there is absolutely no reason for her behavior nor to my mother me nor fiancé please let me know what you have done to change this and I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way .. CVS presciption

I was discharged from lancaster regional hospital on thursday november 25 and went to cvs pharmacy for a refill for my prescription the person I talked to was sue I believe she was the head pharmacist, at that time I underwent back surgery and needed my prescription filled, the pharmacist was rude and unprofessional she told me my insurance would not cover my prescription until the following day I told the pharmacist if I could pay for it out of pocket for some of the medicine to hold me over until the next day until my insurance would kick in but this rude person (sue) the head pharmacist refused to help me out, I explained to the pharmacist that I needed the medication for pain I just underwent back surgery, I offered to pay for the medication out of my own pocket but she got very rude and said no, than she told me that I was not welcome to return to the store anymore that she would call the police, all I wanted was some medication to hold me over to the next day, until my insurance would kick in, but she refused to help me in any way possible, so I took my precricption to another pharmacy and they gladly help me with my problem, I just want to say I have never been treated so badly as I was from this cvs pharmacy and furthermore I am going to contact my attorney and see if I have a valid complaint and if I do I will bring legal actions against this cvs store, I highly recommend that someone in charge will look into this complaint, because I believe a customer has some right to be treated fair and with respect, my name is antonio illiano and my phone number is [protected] I hope someone in your dept. will get back in touch with me and let me know what actions you intend if any

LMAO, ugh.. gotta love the people that think they can get what they want when they want. You can contact your attorney and pay out the ### for that phone call, but all you are going to find out is that what you did was illegal and you would be the one in jail and CVS would be in the right. You cant go to several pharmacies and get narcotics filled, if you get caught that is serious trouble for yourself especially if you have insurance and you went somewhere else and told them to put it on cash and not run it through insurance. (LOL) They put a day supply on your script for a reason, it has to last you until the date on there or youre not going to get your refill when you are out. And your pharmacy and insurance can not let it go through, that is the law, deal with it.

I'm going to assume you were trying to get medication that was considered a controlled substance/narcotic. My guess is that it was a Carisprodal 350mg or a strength of Hydrocodone-Acetaminophen, because you said you had refills.

I'm going to speculate on why the pharmacist denied you from getting this medication early, as there are two reasons why they may not fill your prescription. Since you said it was a refill, you must have filled the prescription and took all of your tablets within the time frame that your doctor wrote it for.

For example: If your doctor wrote for Soma 350: Take 1 tablet by mouth three times a day (Quantity is 90 tablets).

Such prescription should last you 30 days. If you were to take more than 3 tablets a day that will cause a disturbance in the scheduled date of your next refill.

So from the pharmacists point of view, your insurance denied the early refill (Because you recently filled the medication and did not wait the 30 days to fill your next one). And on top of that, every state in the United States allows a certain amount of days to fill early. Many of them being 3 days early on controlled medication. Which is plenty of time in your situation.

What I can see from what you wrote is that you came into the pharmacy on the 25th of November to be denied by the insurance and the pharmacist an early refill. Obvious deduction points out that you have not finished your previous refill or you are taking more than what the doctor told you to take.

Either way, pharmacies have laws that protect them from ###ed people like you. Laws that state how early you can refill your controlled medications and what the pharmacist can do by law. Of course you brought it to another pharmacy and they filled it because they didn't have your insurance and you paid cash for it. They were not able to look at the CVS computers to see when your last refill was. You tricked the system, which is illegal. Try explaining that in court, ###tard.

CVS cleanliness

I went into my local CVS today and had to use the restroom. I had to walk inches from the table where the flu clinic is being held to enter the restroom door. When I entered the restroom, which apparently is for public use due to a baby changing station in the restroom, it was completely unsanitary in every way. The floor and toilet looked as though it had never been cleaned or disinfected. I thought this was horrible - especially given the fact that they are giving flu shots just steps away from this filthy mess. If no one else has complained about this I will be shocked!

CVS refill medication

Rite Aid pharmacy had transferred all patient refill files to Cvs on New Scotland Ave. Upon doing so I called to check the status of my recently renewed prescription. Due to the fact that I have Medicaid I wanted to be sure that it was not out of date from the refills. I was told that all was in order as I had recently refilled the script. Had it not been in order I would have gotten a new script from the doctor due to the fact that it is high blood pressure med. and it is imperitive that I have it. I was told that all was fine.
Upon calling the refill in, I was told on a Sunday that I needed a new script because it was too old. It was two-months old. Medicaid allows only up to six months old. There was three refills left and it was to be refilled within the 30 day time period.
So inevitably I was given a hastle and told to get a new script even after initially being told that my script was fine.
I became angry and called a pharmacist in a different Rite-aid and was told my script was fine. He could not understand except that it had been transferred improperly.
My conclusion to their mishandling of my script is that I will no longer deal w/ CVS as they made no effort to help me in this situation that was inevitably their error.

i have had this same issue come up very recently..wut is going on with this?i had a few scripts at cvs with refills left and now i have to call my dr for another..does not make any sense..wut is the point of having refills then..cvs is the worst pharmicy..especially the one on front street.they are alllll very rude and judgemental..they willl argue with u till theyr blue in the face..the one pharmicist is very rude.he looks indian or something..has a mushstache.always very rude!

CVS miss count

I went in to the store on Monday to have my son prescription filled. I returned on Tuesday to pick it up after getting home opening it up I noticed that it didn't have the correct amount in the bottle so I counted the pills and then looked at the label it hand the right amount that was suppose to be in the bottle. So then I called the pharmacy up and they told me to come back and they would fix it, well it was not that easy because she went to saying that they was going to do a audit because it was a control substance not one time did she apologize about what was happening. I think that with it being a control substance the pharmacist should have someone else check their count because you have a hard time getting your medicine until they see it really was they fault. I did get the medicine but the pharmacist that I talk to Tuesday night acted like I had took the medicine out the bottle this need to be corrected before it happens to someone else and I will not be using them any more.

CVS egregious treatment by manager

Today I went to CVS and used the restroom while I was there. Apparently, there was a sign on the door that said "out of order", but I did not see it. The sign was posted only 3 feet above the ground on the door and I am over 6 feet tall. The restroom was not out of order, however.

When I came out, a CVS employee and manager were waiting for me ready to pounce like a lion on its prey. They immediately began verbally attacking me, telling me to "get the ### out" of the store. I told them that I had just used the restroom and asked what the problem was. The manager told me that I have "mental problems" and that I have "the mental capacity of a 10 year old". Not wanting a confrontation, I began walking swiftly out of the store. The employee and manager chased me, yelling profanities at me. They chased me right out the door into the parking lot and continued to insult me outside.

I called the store after I left and spoke with the manager who's name was Carolyn. I explained to her that I had used the restroom and that I did not know that it was out of order. She interrupted me and told me to "go shop somewhere else". She refused to let me speak, and told me that if I had a problem with her to call their corporate office at 1-800-shop-cvs. Then she hung up on me.

You bet I called their corporate office. I have never been treated by a store employee like that before in my whole life. What egregious and unprofessional treatment! Now I'm waiting for a call from their regional manager to explain what happened. I think that the manager Carolyn should start looking for a new job because I doubt that her regional manager will want to keep her on staff after he hears about the way that she treats customers.

I think she's telling the truth...I have two children that work at CVS, and they take a lot of crap from managers there, and with these hard times, it's very tough to find a good paying job...So they keep on taking the crap while going to college at the same time, just trying to make it through life. I would love to see both my kids quit that job, but hey, you have to work somewhere, and all job's have crap...Don't be so quick to judge people, because there are a lot of a--hole manager's out there, i know i used to work for one...

This sounds like either you are lying or leaving some details out of the story. I highly doubt that employees of a store would mistreat anyone without a reason.

I work in retail and let me tell you that no matter how much you lie to the corporation when you call the customer service number, they ALREADY know the REAL story that was sent to them by the employees. They give the corporation a heads up because they know that most likely someone will try to call and complain about something that is a lie.

So, save your lies, its not getting you anywhere in life!

CVS unfair billing practices

CVS Caremark has unfair, deceptive billing practices and lousy customer service. Twice they have sent me medications where they have charged me incorrectly. Unfortunately my insurance company gives me no choice but to use them.

On Friday, I received medication in the mail that I did not order and which Caremark did not notify me they were sending. Its explanation was that they had a received my prescription on August 26 and could not refill it until now. But here is what really happened. I had mailed them the prescription in August. They told me they never received it and suggested I have my doctor's office fax it to them, which is what happened. I was speaking to a customer service rep named Abbey about this. They filled the prescription after they received the fax, but then they received the prescription in the mail, but never told me. But they did not want to fill it then because the insurance company would not pay for it until three months had passed.

So last week they decide to send it to me, not asking if I was still using the medication or wanted it. You can't return a medication once they mail it because of FDA regulations. But I don't need the medication and I wanted to use a generic version for the next refill.

You would think they would at least notify the customer they were sending the medication if it can not be returned. I plan on reporting CVS Caremark to the Department of Consumer Affairs, the Insurance Commission and the Attorney General in Massachusetts.

CVS unprofessional/rude staff/incompetent

After having numerous discussions with the manager Terry and the corporate office of the CVS store located on 19th avenue and Indian School Road Phoenix, arionza, I am finally at my wits end with the last incident being the last straw.

The pharmacy staff at this store is a group of young, arrogant no it alls, who feel they are not accountable to anyone, including the corporate office.

I cringe at having to go into this store, and only do because I have to take a bus, and it is the closest store to my home. Unfortunately, I have to fill my prescriptions every two weeks, due to the type of meds I use. Every time I go in the pharmacy, it is one thing or another. It is not available, the insurance won't fill it now, the date is wrong, etc. and EVERYTIME, I have to call someone and spend the stress and time, and get it resolved, proving them wrong!

Their attitudes are horrific, unconcerned and downright rude.

This time, Hanna, who is only a pharmacy tech, but acts like the manager, refused to fill one of my prescriptions because the date was wrong, but not on the others he wrote. She is from some other country, and she needs to go back to where she came from! She did not even try to resolve the issue. When I asked for the pharmacist, she got haughty with me. Finally, the pharmacist came over, and while she was looking up my account, after calling my doctor and verifying he made a mistake on the date, she then got an attitude of arrogance!

I asked hanna to call the store manager and she refused! When the pharmacist overheard me asking to speak to the manager, (She too, is from another country) got uppety with me, asking me why I was calling the manager, when I stated it was none of her business why I was asking for the store manager, she then threw my prescription back at me saying "Well then, I guess you don't want this filled then". She spoke with my doctor, I have had my prescriptions filled there for years, and now she makes a personal decision to not fill my prescription again!

Terry, the store manager is a whimp, and just stood there, looking down at the ground while I told him what happened. I called corporate. I called my doctor, who after dealing with them on the phone, and seeing how upset I was, stated that he was now boycotting their pharmacies (He has a huge practice!) and not reccommending them to any of his patients.

Other than the fact that they are all young and have too much power apparently, these people show no regard to their customers. And apparently, CVS is at fault, because none of them seem to be concerned about getting a complaint.

I am a career advisor, and a word to these employees and CVS, step over, and let a person who has been out of work have your job, because I am sure they will appreciate it and be respectful and courteous to customers!

These young people need a large slice of humble pie, and life experience to set them straight about life!

And CVS, shame on you for not following through on complaints, so that they have full reign to treat people anyway they chose.

After way too many incidences at this store in regard to customer service, I no longer will fill my meds there, or give CVS one more dime of my money. And I will tell everyone I know, please don't shop there.
