To whom it may concern, I am writing to complain about my recent stay at Club Calahonda, Mijas Costa. Having paid 720 euros for the two weeks stay which was full price we had a long list of issues, which I will break down below to make clear. We upon check in received a welcome pack which was little more than useless not giving any actual information. No where was it mentioned that the safe had to be paid for or the wifi the same. At no point were we told that all the facilities at our site were closed, the restaurant, bar, salon all shut with no notification even though we received discount vouchers for the restaurant, The reception also was open as and when, the times on the door were not when it was open. So any issues could not be reported as there was no-one to report to. We did eventually find out we could use the facilities at Club Marbella however when going up to the bar on new years eve we were told we couldnt go in, it was a private function, now if we knew we had to buy tickets this wouldnt of been a problem but to be told it will be fine then be turned away was a joke. The apartment itself had a string of issues, The TV was very poor the lack of channels was not the issue but the uncontrolled freezing, on and off, static and volume issues were ridiculous. The electric kept going on and off, like a third world country, not just once or twice but repeatedly over a few days meaning the wifi we paid extra for didnt work, the shower wasnt usable, we couldnt charge anything, and the fridge didnt work well. I even got woken up with a start at 5am when the power came back on and turned the lights on blaring in my face. It might just be me but lights shouldnt turn themselves on. The fridge whether this we the electric issue or the fridge itself, it was not cold and we lost a good 100 euros if not more of food that turned within hours as it was not working, not only a serious waste of money but very frustrating when you find you have nothing for dinner. On top of all this we were staying under what must have been a removal firm, never have I heard anyone so noisy 6 am till 2am the next day moving furniture and stamping about, despite the quiet times stated on site which clearly are not enforced. We were also promised a discount voucher booklet and bottle of bubbly for the New Year by customer services which never materialised. To top all this off at midday on the 5th, (we were due to check out on the 7th) we received a phone call from reception saying there closed for two days, we can check out at Marbella or if we would like to leave today it would be easier for them! Shocked that they would expect us to leave early and disgusted at the easier for them comment. Not only was this a joke but this was stated at midday on the day they wanted us out. I think I am fair in stating we are both more than unhappy with the issues here. And am seeking some kind of resolution. Preferably a refund.
