Cricket Wireless payment and rebate fraud

We went into cricket and got a cricket broadband modem which came with a $50 rebate. We recieved a printout of our account number, phone, etc everything we were needing to fill out the rebate form and send it out. That night we filled it out and put it in the mail. A few weeks later we get a letter in the mail saying that our rebate was declined because they had already recieved a rebate request for the esn and account number for another offer. We had never used cricket before and immediately called them. Turns out the printout that we had recieved had partially wrong information on it. The account number on the printout was different from the account number on our bill which was the one they turned up needing to correct the issue. Supposedly our rebate is in the mail. Then the following month I went to pay the bill on line using a check, why did they ask me for my ssn number along with my drivers license. I refuse to put my ssn on there to pay a bill especially when they already have the DL number. They cant ask for your SSN. I got an uneasy feeling and just sent my husband to pay at the store. That's crazy to ask for someones SSN to pay by check. Never will I.

After three calls to technicians with three different answers in bad english, I still do not understand the concept of billing/speed limitation. I really dont give a crap how they figure it all. What I would like to see can be summed up in an analogy.

I put five dollars in the tank of my car. When that five dollars of gas runs out I have to push the car. With Cricket, there is some guy sitting in my car keeping my foot off the pedal because my average speed calculated by him determines if I can drive fast or not. Remember, you put five dollars of gas in the tank with your money.

Give me my full five gig and when it runs out I'll crawl. Anything less is deceptive marketing. This practice Cricket has is very low on the ethics scale to me. Not my fault they sell more bandwidth than capacity. You do know this is what it is all about right?

I pulled up 'Cricket Broadband complaints' in the keyword box to see if others were having a problem with it. I had bought a computer just less than three months ago and I have taken it to the Geek Squad twice because my computer was running very slow, or just freezing. I had been told both times that there is nothing wrong with my computer. So then I started thinking...is it the broadband? I addressed that question to the agent and was told yes. Because after all, my problems were always internet related. Either slow, freezing or the page with the gray box asking to diagnose the problem comes up. I have had enough. Comcast will be at my house this week to hook me back up to their internet. And oh, by the way...I have had a bad experience with customer service in person and on the phone. In person, the guy first told me he never saw me before, then he proceeded to tell me I was a liar (WTF?) because I told him he did not tell me I had to pay more to pay in person, plus a fee for a paper bill. Whoever heard of having to pay more for paying in person? When I tried to call Cricket on the phone to get to a supervisor to complain about him, I could not get anyone except a person who said they are only taking orders if I wanted to purchase something. The only thing I will probably keep for now is the phone for my 13 year old daughter @ $35 a month. Because, she is 13. I wouldn't want it for myself. And she says her phone loads slow. And the other thing I hate about them...they give NO grace period. If you do not pay on the day it is due, they cut it off. I mean, really, you get grace periods with just about everything you have to pay.

Signing up for cricket mobile broadband is easy and 3g service is adequate for minimal use. But when you no longer need the service the published phone numbers do no good as the automated options state they can only do sales intake. After half an hour you might find a phone number that enables you to speak to someone whose first language is not english. After they screw up the entry of account numbers, phone numbers, etc. , repeatedly then they finally "get it" that you want to cancel service. So they have to transfer your call to another agent. Where basically the same waste of time occurs, and just when you think service is disconnected then the operator states the call is breaking up and they cannot hear your 50th request to terminate service. F*** it. Visit a store, don't waste an hour on the phone with overseas idiots.

In december, as a christmas gift, my husband purchased a new laptop, and cricket broadband for me. With the understanding, that a $50 rebate would follow, as long as the proper paperwok was filed, the bill was paid, and the proper amount of time (45 days) was waited. Here we are looking at the beginning of april, and still no rebate. To get ahold of anyone in person is crazy... They don't answer... And then when they do answer, all I hear is it is in the mail... On feb 25th, I recieved an email stating that the time had been done with and that the rebate was being mailed out... More that a month later, and still nothing... How do they get away with this?

I purchased the CrossWave so that I could get internet without having to go through Comcast. $119 for the hardware and $50 for the "Unlimited" Card. Unlimited has a different definition to them than it does for you and me. Only up to 5G. After that you have no speed. Purchased a new card to get things going again. Still NO speed. Call them..they say you have to wait for the system update and will be up in 24 hours...36 hours later still no speed. Call again...of course they take forever to get on the line...Tell the person on the line that I want my system reset ...OH NO SORRY CAN'T DO THAT...YOU HAVE TO WAIT FOR YOUR RENEWAL DATE...WHICH IS 10 DAYS AWAY...So I ask to speak to a supervisor...He gets on the line...says the same thing...Ask for his supervisor...I'M THE ONLY SUPERVISOR HERE...NOT POSSIBLE...CAN'T GET A REFUND...SICK TO DEATH OF THIS THING...WORST MISTAKE I HAVE MADE...DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY

I was ripped off by Crickedt and one of their dealers. !st Cricket gives details both online and my mailings on paying $100 for a UMC 185 broadband modem and get a $50 instant rebate. There were 3 account prices of which I chose the middle on for $50.00 per month. When I am given the nearest location to go get one, I am told at the store that the modem would actually cost $75 and they would charge $45 for activation and the first months service free. (Total to walk out with the modem was $120). I immediately went home and plugged it into my laptop and installed it. It usually only showed 2 of 4 bars and would frequently not connect at all or disconnect after connecting. The maximum speed of download achieved was about 100kb/s (0.1 Mb/s). Often couldn't even achieve that. I called 1-800-Cricket and was given a bunch of useless things to try like clearing my cache. They said they would escalate the call to a higher level tech and to wait 48 hours for callback. I waited and no one called. I called in again and agains no one called back after another 48 hours. I went to the dealer where I purchased it who told me they only offer refunds if brought back within 30 minutes of purchase time. He said if I needed service I had to go to the Cricket Service Center a few miles away. I went there. They plugged the modem into their local laptop and also could not get any reasonable speed. Their response was they don't honor their printed warranty if purchased from one of their dealers. I would have to pay a $40 fee to have them send it in and even thewn they might not honor the warranty if the techs can make it work in their area. The fact the techs in the local service center couldn't make it work either seemed to mean nothing to them. I told them I wanted to cancel my service and would pay the $40 to get another under warranty. Then they informed me that doing so would invalidate the rebate I sent in for as I have to have a continuous service of 45 days before the rebate is issued. So now I'm out the full $120 and clearly no one at Cricket gives a darn!
DON'T BUY INTO CRICKET'S LIES ABOUT GUARANTEES AND WARRANTEES. THEY DON'T HONOR ANY OF THEM!

Cricket Communications and their Broadband set up is a scam. They have repeatedly lied, overcharged and operate in bad faith providing no real customer service or tech support.
I keep searching and asking and investigating and I am finding that no one is stating the real and obvious issue. CRICKET internet is a crooked bad faith company who lies and cheats and overcharges for their internet when NO ONE else limits your speed etc. The reputable internet providers set you a price and simply give you what you pay in most cases. How many millions does the CRICKET " creator"/ "controller(s)" need or want anyway? I paid extra to ensure I got a full mth of fast internet from June 20, 2017 through July 19, 2017. Guess what? Their "natural" slowdown has made it nearly impossible to access much on the interent. They are crooked and thieving. After just announcing they are raising rates 5 US dollars per month because they are going Nationwide in the United States I had the best laugh ever. If they think that all the internet users that will get them ( and then piss off) will take this crap they are in for major problems. There are just too many crack techs and hackers out there that will teach them a lesson. Personally, I can't wait. CRICKET broadband and the idiots that sell and run it need to GROW THE HECK UP! What a joke CRICKET BROADBAND IS! Finally, (another obvious) there is No customer service to speak of because CRICKET doesn't want there to be. The way it is now makes them unaccountable for anything and that's the way they like it. All they can hear is "K'ching" when the money rolls in.

Called tech support they refered me to a"company" store...after several visits, staying for 30 min or more no one ever showed for work. I called tech support back, complained and they agreed to refund my last months money. HOWEVER, they never sent the money back to my account...bunch of a..holes. And the etch couldnt even speak English well enough to supply me with supprt...Were is my moneyCRICKET?

What a joke - aka Cricket broadband. In 1993 I had a 28K dial up that was faster that Cricket Broadband. Lucky if I get 3-8 kb and worse is you get the opportunity to "download" something several times before you get a "clean copy" or don't get disconnected before a complete download. Tried to download a Microsoft update 7 time before "finally" and of course as a ###ed Tech told me tonight I was "over the limit". Did anyone hear the Ad 'Unlimited". Read where a Corp Donkey told the press they don't "limit" the speed if you go over the 5Gb...flat out lie - wouldn't be bad but I can used up that much trying to get maybe 200M download before it disconnects...which is OFTEN. If there is a limit, then why is it as slow the 1st of the month when I haven't used it yet? No wonder Cricket almost went bankrupt a few years ago with their cell service? Couldn't keep connected with that either...dropped them finally Seems the FTC or someone would look into their practices or false advertising...Too bad they don't go out of business then I'd pay more for something that worked 24/7 without a hitch...Yeah, I'm going to drop it...and wish everyone else did just to put them out of business.
Oh, the rebate took 9 weeks - AFTER I called almost everyday and heard every excuse why I hadn't received it...oh and on a debit card, not check or something I could put in my pocket...ripoff is the bottom line.

Cricket Wireless deceptive practices

Cricket does not give you what they advertise. There service is a joke, you an't even get any bars while your in the cricket store. The only reason I went with a cricket phone is because they supposedly offered a plan that included off network roaming, which worked out great because I was planning my family vacation to Florida. Well as soon as I left Nashville my phone wouldn't even tell me what time it was, so I spent about 500 miles totally without service or any option to roam. So now I'm stuck with no way to call anyone if we had car trouble and had to spend my whole vacation not communicating with family and friends. I was so upset that I had been duped by their roaming plan that I had paid for that was supposed to include 30 minutes a month of off network roaming that I went to walmart and dropped $100 for a motorola razr on the straight talk plan. That includes 1000 min 1000 txt and 30 MB of data, and the bonus is signed up for auto bill pay I get double everything. Or you can get an unlimited plan for $45 a month, and the beauty is that it is on the verizon towers which means I get full bars in my basement or wherever I'm at in the USA. To add fuel to the fire I have sold my cricket phone on craigslist and they won't let the guy activate the phone because I have a balance of $113 dollars, which is untrue because I called "customer service" in India no doubt to cancel and they said everything was fine. So if I called to cancel service before my next bill hit how come I owe $113? I thought I didn't have a contract? So cricket will not activate the phone for one of their loyal customers because they want to screw me as much as they can. It was funny becuase I asked the guy who bought the phone to show me how many bars his cricket phone had while standing in the cricket store, he had none, my straight talk phone had 5. For $30 a month you will have a phone that works anywhere in your house and the USA with no tricky billing practices, I had been with sprint for 10 years and was pretty happy with there service, although i is no match for what I get now it was costing me and my wife about $300 a month, now we pay $64 a month for 2 phones and couldn't be happier.
If there is ever a class action lawsuit against cricket wireless or leap wireless than please put my name at the top of the list because cricket has done nothing nut lie to me.
It all started when I ordered a phone from their website and when I called and tried to activate it they couldn't do it. When I asked why they said that the cricket website and the actual cricket where not affiliated, what a crock. They sure took my money from a website that wasn't affiliated with them but wouldn't activate my phone for 2 weeks after I had received it. To anyone who has or wants cricket service please be aware that they have no concept of customer service. At sprint all calls would be fielded by people in the USA, if you called after hours you could expect to talk to people in India. At cricket all calls go to India no matter what time of day it is. And when I called to cancel my service they hung up on me 4 times when I explained what I was trying to do, it wasn't til the 5th call that I got someone to do what I wanted which was to disconnect my service with them. But that wasn't enough they have since billed me for 2 more months. Caveat Emptor Folks!

I agree.. a class action lawsuit needs to be brought against these idiots! I have spent almost 300.00 on two phones through them in the last 6 mnths. The first phone would shut off despite being fully charged during calls and internet access after only 45 days of use... I ended up cancelling that service as they refused to replace the battery.
Being an idiot I bought my son a phone through them two months ago which cost over 166.00. It DIED completely after only 36 days of use.. took it in and they REFUSED to replace it although they claim their phones have a 1 yr warranty... Their reason was due to the miniscule scratch on the back side of the phne which is 1/16 of inch long approx... They claimed this was "normal wear and tear" and therefore voided the warranty.. for all I know he did it when he took it in the back three times to check the battery ...
It was not the battery that was the problem... I was pissed, so he called the manager over who told him to tell me ( in front of me) (apparently she was incapable of dealing with customers as is HER job herself) that they would go ahead and replace the phone with a USED phone for $45.00... WHAT A RACKET... It seems their BRAND NEW phones have a bad habit of not lasting much longer than 30 days. Coincidence? I'm thinking... NOT! They are continously make money fraudulently( IMO )by making people pay a fee for a phone that IS under manufacturers warranty... OH but ONLY if you NEVER use the dang thing... For anyone purchasing from cricket.. THINK TWICE... especially before you buy a phone from them...

OH and since it died 6 days into our second month of service... they told me I had to wait 24 hours after cancelling service to call back and "request" my refund... Come to find out you cant get through to them via phone if you dont have a working number through them... I tried online and NOWHERE am I able to find a "customer service" or "customer complaint" section as the representative stated I would find...IMAGINE THAT! Luckily I recorded our entire conversation and will be contacting the AG's office to file a proper complaint since they are so reluctant to DEAL with solving their own customers complaints/issues etc... They obviously are not too concerned with running a reputable business or dealing with issues in a timely manner..but they sure dont mind debiting our accts every month in a timely fashion ... or conveniently over-billing and then blaming it on their "system"... i'm all for joining any lawsuit against them... It is about time we consumers start standing up for ourselves... WITHOUT us... they dont make a dime...

Cricket Wireless very poor customer service

Cricket refuses to research information to verify my bill has been misdirected in payments to a false number unknown to me. My bank verifies payments made timely and also deductions from my account for the same phone number. Why can't cricket just check their billing records and clear this up? A refund of more than $300 is due to me and no one is trying to clear this up. Customer service is VERY POOR.

Cricket wireless has been our service provider for some time now and although they provide reasonable pricing on plans and phones, their customer service is beyond crappy. Dialing *611 from your Cricket phone connects you to their automated service that consists of a handful of options except for the "Speak to a Customer Service Representative" option. Having to work your way around the automated service is not only time consuming but also very, very annoying. Usually, the automated service hangs up on me, so WHEN and IF i do get to speak with someone (which is usually a rep from billing who i can hardly understand) they are at a total loss when it comes to answering any questions I may have. The only "helpful" information they can give is telling me to go into a Cricket Wireless Store for assistance or to go to the Mycricket.com website, which doesnt provide any support either except for a few common sense FAQ's. It can't be that hard to provide people with proper customer service, could it? Ha, apparently for Cricket Wireless it is! ... I'm currently in the middle of a mental argument with myself as I type this! ... I'm switching service providers!

CRICKET'S SERVICE IS THE WORST ON PLANET EARTH, MAYBE WORST ON ANOTHER PLANET BUT NOY HERE.
I PURCHED A $200.oo PHONE THAT WAS DEFECTED FROM DAY ONE, IT WAS DROPPING OFF FIVE TO SIX OR MORE TIMES A DAY. iT BECAME A JOKE AMOUNG MY FRIENDS CALLING ME AND THEY WERE SAYING GET RID OF THAT CHEAP PHONE.
I WAS MISSING PHONE CALLS BECAUSE THE PHONE WAS DEFECTED AND WASN'T RINGING. THE INDICATOR FOR MISSED CALLS DIDN'T RING ON MISSED CALLS. I RETURNED TO STORE WHERE I BOUGHT PHONE AND SAID I WANTED ANOTHER PHONE TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE PHONE THEY SOLD ME...THEY WOULDN'T REPLACE IT AND GAVE ME THE RUN AROUND. I ASKED THEM WHAT COMPANY IN THE USA WILL SELL YOU A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT AND NOT REPLACE IT WHEN IT'S BROUGHT BACK IN JUST A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME? STILL GOT THE RUN AROUND AND NO RESOLUTION TO MY PROBLEM.
I CALLED BBB TO REPORT THIS COMPANY. i FINALLY GOT A PHONE NUMBER TO A SUPERVISOR. THE SUPERVISOR TOLD ME TO GO TO A NEARBY STORE AND THAT SHE WOULD CALL THEM AND TELL THEM TO GIVE ME A LOANER PHONE AND SEND MY PHONE IN UNDER WARANTY. I GOT TO THE STORE AND FOUND THAT SHE HADN'T CALLED {SOME MORE BAD CRICKET SERVICE} BUT I GAVE THEM THE NAME AND NUMBER OF SUPERVISOR AND THEY CALL HER AND I THEN GOT SOME RESULTS. I WAS GIVEN A LOANER PHONE AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD CALL ME WHEN MY NEW PHONE WOULD ARRIVE. TWO WEEKS LATER I CALLE STORE AND FOUND OUT MY PHONE WAS IN THE STORE AND HAD BEEN FOR SOME TIME, BUT I DIDN'T GET A CALL TO LET ME KNOW. THE REPLACEMENT PHONE IS DOING THE SAME THING NOW...WHAT A COMPANY, THE PHONE IS MADE BY SAMSUNG AND IS A PICE OF JUNK. I'M NOW BACK TO SQUARE ON AND WILL NOT GIVE UP UNTIL I GET A WORKING PHONE.

Cricket Wireless obtaining call records

My credit card info was stolen and someone obtained two cricket phones with my info. Cricket cannot give me the call records for the phones without me coming in to a store in person. Please don't give this company your business. Go to their website and I dare you to find the "contact us" link without much digging. One of their customer service operators hung up on me. I would not recommend this service to my worst enemy.

Cricket Wireless disrespectful, unsatisfactory customer service, overcharging customers,

Everytime i get ready to pay a bill or ask a questions i have major problems. The customer service reps are extremely disrespectful, rude, unknowledgeable about the product, numerous mistakes, unsatisfactory customer service. This is the worst company i have ever dealt with! They refuse to let you speak to supervisors when they have clearly screwed up! This company should be sued and put out of business. I'm so fed up, im going to close my account and I would recommend anyone else to do the same. It shoudn't be this complicated. There is noone to complain to. I will find that answer if i have to get assistance from the BBB! Something needs to be done!

I am right there with you as well... CRICKET IS AWFUL... in every way possible... I will also be filing a complaint and hope everyone else they screwed over does as well.. THEY should not be allowed to be in business... They refused to give me supervisor information.. President of the company information etc... they told me if I wanted to make a complaint I needed to go to their website and go to support, then customer complaints... I have tried that and NO WHERE do I find a link to customer service or customer complaints... GO FIGURE... They know their business practices are shady and they covered all their bases by lessening the ability of disgruntled customers gettting through.. Somehow I think they new that was ALL they'd be dealing with... IMO...

In my case, they refused to fix a phone that DIED completely (not a battery issue) after only 36 days of use... The phone was brand new and they refused to replace it due to a teeny tiny scratch on the back(most likely due to a coin or key scratching it). The scratch was maybe 1/16th of an inch and they said it voided the warranty... They called it NORMAL wear and tear... IM SORRY but miniscule cosmetic issues shouldnt VOID a mechanical problem unless it is obvious the phone is dropped or abused... PHones dont just die after 30 days without being defective to begin with. I will be passing my experience on to as many people as I can.. As well as filing a complaint with the BBB and our AG's office... It is ridiculous that they are getting away with this. HOPEFULLY, they will get what they deserve... to go out of business... I called to cancel and asked for a refund as obviously since thier PHONE is a piece of junk, I wouldnt be needing their service as it was only 6 days into the second month when it died... The rep told me I had to call back 24 hrs after cancellation to make a "request" for a refund. I tried calling back and since my phone was no longer in service it would NOT recognize it and would NOT put me through to a HUMAN... Funny how they have that set up too.. because the day I called to cancel i was able to get right through...

I have purchased 3 cell phones from authorized Cricket dealers in 2 years and two of the cell phones were defective. My last purchase was July 2011. At that time, I was told that if my phone had a problem within 1 year, to come back to the store and they would replace the phone. That was their guarantee and instruction (from the authorized Cricket dealer). Current phone broke in April 2012. I contacted the authorized Cricket dealer (store where I purchased my phone) and was told they WILL NOT honor the guarantee! They did look at the phone and determined that it was no fault of the user, but the phone was just bad. However, they wouldn't replace the phone. I then called 1-800-CRICKET and was told I could go to a "full-service" store. They provided the address and telephone numbers of numerous stores, but each store I contacted told me they would not replace my guaranteed phone, despite the fact that I still have my receipt, guarantee, and a warranty! Authorized dealers told me I could however, take the defective phone to a corporate store, located some many, many miles away and they MIGHT be able to help. I contacted this store, but all I got was an automated message to leave a message and someone would call back. No one has called back. I called the manufacture and was told I could mail my defective phone out of state. But repairs would take weeks if they could fix it. Meanwhile, I have no phone. Cricket sells poor quality products and does not stand by their guarantee! I will contact FCC and Attorney General, as recommended. For anyone that is thinking of doing business with Cricket to buy quality cell phones, THINK AGAIN! Doing business with Cricket is nothing by headaches! And waste of lots of money! ---Quite frankly, I'm tired of businesses selling poor quality products and selling guarantees they do not honor. Next cell phone provider WILL NOT be Cricket! Best of luck to all that have had problems with this company!

Cricket Wireless poor customer service

I purchased a wireless modem so I would have internet service on my vacation to Conneticut. I went to the web site and through a chat I was informed that the device would work in Ct. That was 6/26/09. I received it in the mail and loaded the program onto my lap type to make sure it was not defective. On 7/10/09 when I tried to get service I could not. I called the 800# from the web site, but the electronic answering system kept asking me for a phone # which I was never issued. I finally decided to speak to a sales person as a new customer. That person could not give me customer service and refused to assist. Finally after several other calls I convinced someone to transfer me to technical support. I was then told we do not provide service in NYC or CT. When I asked for a refund, I was told to return the device to a store. Well there were no stores anywhere near where I was staying. I was also not returning home for 4 weeks. The Tech person said I am writing this up in the system so just return it when I got home. I went the corporate store and was told they gave me the wrong information, howevever they would try to give me a refund. Well the computer would not allow the refund and they told me there was nothing moro they could do. The store manager told me to stop payment on my credit card which I did. I then found my packing slip and called them. I was told you exceeded the 30 day return policy. After an argument they said they would send it to expeditor and they would be in touch. Now 2 weeks have gone by and I called them again and asked to speak to a Supervisor. They refused to allow me to speak to a supervisor, but another request would be put in for an expeditor. This company is the worst I have ever dealt with. If you ever have a problem be prepared for incompetency and a refusal from emplooyees to assist.

Cricket Wireless bad customer service

I never in my life experience such poor customer service. I'm not one to just complain about anything, but this is a legitament. I had lost my phone returning back from vacation. My first repsonse was too try and locate it and when I could not find it, I tried calling customer service to put a hold on my phone. Well, calling customer service did not help out much at all. All I received was the run around with the automated system saying they are experiencing a high call volume. I tried this at least for 3 day and got the same result. I went online to retrieve my numbers I had on my phone a service I was paying for. Unbeknownst to me, Cricket expired my information. Frustated and fed up with Cricket, I went to one of the local stores and of course they could not help me either. I had changed my plan before going on vacation which should not have affected my "backup" numbers. The Cricket representative that helped me change my plan and also my backups.

Cricket as this point has given me a ### taste in my mouth and I don't care for their services anymore. I've tried locating their coporate office but having a hard time doing that as well. What kind of operations is this company doing and where do customer get legitamate complaints heard?

Michael

I use my cell for an emergency so it is very important that I receive calls. I have alway's had trouble communicating with any rep. They are devious, and are liars, (also a disgrace to the Philipino race). The last straw with these idiots was when I called to discontinue my broadband service. I had this done 3 days prior to making a new payment. Not only did they shut off my internet, they cancelled my cell phone service, and charged me a late fee for their mistake..These people should be investigated for their crooked, lying, magnt. ways.
What comes aroung goes around.

Cricket Wireless exploitive business practices as day to day business model

These clowns are a privately owned subsidiary of Leap Wireless International, Inc. started in 1999 and headquartered in/at 10307 Pacific Center Court, San Diego, Ca., 92121, with a purported Corporate phone number of [protected] and a corporate fax of [protected], it might be worth the trouble to bombard this purported “responsible”, growing enterprise with old fashioned phone calls, snail mail and manual faxes to perhaps get its presidents' attention.

A google search results in the listing of a Susan G. Swenson (60) and a Stewart Douglas Hutcheson (53) as CEOs. A Linda K. Wokoun (53) is listed as Senior VP of both Marketing and customer care. The only person who seems to be competent is listed as/in marketing. Won’t list him, they do run a very aggressive ad campaign and one must factor out honesty in advertising at the corporate level.

A Rueters posting on 04/29/2009 lists a Linda Vaz as the “Director of customer service”(that obviously doesn’t deserve Caps)—that was 4 months ago. If she wasn’t a [censored]e and a meth-head at hire—read-a semi decent person—she probably lit her hair on fire and went screaming out of the building within a week of this posting and her probable hire date.

Some of the legion of comments about this company's abysmal record for customer service include--"only drug dealers use and find benefit with your service".
I would add drug users and addicts, people with no credit, can't pay a bill on time to save their bong, kids, and crack [censored]s.
they seem to make their daily operating capital on the reactivation fees for shutting off your service, on a computer generated schedule whether you have paid it or not.

It's a market segment no legitimate business wants to be associated with; but like subprime mortgages and buy here pay here car lots, it's pretty big. Someone with an iota more real concern for doing what they say and claim to offer will take that 'fastest growing wireless in the country" away from them in under six months

You are completely correct.
This company is a joke, one that is making a killing in the poor popullations of the South (so far).

I had a rin in with them, because I was uniformed, and trusted the word of a friend when moving to TN, that this was the greatest company with low ratesn no hasltles etc...
Well bulll on that.
I got the family plan (3 ohones) mine broke after 3 months, I went on line to speak to customer service, i was told it would ne no problem whatsoever if i went to best Nuys to purchase the phone and just add it to my existing account, and swithch my old number to it for a fee of 15.00.Which would have saved me about 30.00.
Since they were selling the same phone on their web site for alot more, with only one yr replacement, whereas Nest Nuy had it for nearly half the price, and a 2 yr warranty for half, which is all I could hardly afford to begin with.
So I come home, call Cricket, and again, just be ne sure i repeated my intiial question. They said no problem just open the plastic casing, give us the number from inside phone, I did, then suddenly i was transfered to someone who told me, they cannot put this phone on my plan.
I lost it to say the least, after being transffered another 3 times, I explained to this woman at least 3 times the entire story and still she did not hear a word i said since she repeatedly asked me questions i already answered.
I insited on a supervisor, and said before you put me on hold again I want his number and extention in case we get cut off, she refused and hung up on me.

Now isn't that wonderful!

Cricket Wireless broadband very slow and limited

I would like to warn everybody about the Cricket wireless broadband deal.First of all if you like to watch videos on the net like youtube or whatever, their service won't last you more than 2 days because they have a limit on how much you can download or stream I think it's around 5 gb.Once you've downloaded the 5 gb your speed will go down to dial-up level wich is about what?! 6kb/second maybe< that's the catch with them it is unlimited but not really HAHAHA what a lemon! Anyway that being said I would also like to inform you that hteir speeds are nothing to even compare even to DSL wich the lowest can take you to about 150kb/sec with CRICKET you'll be lucky if you can get maybe 90kb/sec usually around 60 kb/sec that's all you'll get.I come from comcast where i would get up to 1gb/sec and man that was brutal to go back tu this crap. But u live and learn I guess I ll just have to pay comcast their money and crawl back. One more thing about Cricket wireless they dont have any support, well sort of they ll give you a different ph number but their main number will tell you that they are a new company and dont have support at this time, man when I hird that I laughe with tears, I mean they have millions and millions to advertise but dont have any support.Dont waste your money, you need wireless broadband go with BOOST wireless this is SPRINT and they have excellent coverage and good network unlimited, and if you need home service go with your cable company forget these JOKERS like CRICKET wireless

I made a huge mistake of paying over a hundred bucks for the modem and stop paying the bill after 2 months of having it. what a waste of money.

your an idiot, Cricket has fast enough wirless broadband to play WoW on, download, music, watch streaming videos, etc. and theres no way in hell you were getting 1gb/sec with comcast, even if you had fiber from comcasts main routers to your pc because the rest of the internet still isnt that fast, have fun in fantasy world...cricket is awesome, support does suck but the prices are good and service is reliable...best thing, , , , NO CONTRACT WOO!

Cricket Wireless phony modem rebate

I started with Cricket Wireless during a $50 modem rebate promotion. I followed the rebate to the letter, made copies and mailed it the following day. I even took it to the US Post Office so they would cancel the stamp with that day's date.

After four months I finally heard that my rebate submission was in non-compliance because it was postmarked well over a month after the final date it could be submitted.

This was just one of many problems I have had with Cricket, including: inability to set up my online account because I have a Mac and they don't support text messaging to the modem in the Mac software; continued billing of an insurance charge I have repeatedly asked to be removed; and absolutely terrible service, even though I can get all four bars. Without warning the modem will become unresponsive, sometimes disconnect, sometimes cycle endlessly.

What troubles me about the modem is that it will frequently start a simultaneous, full-bandwidth upload/download. I have a monitor showing which applications (or the system) are requesting data, and when this happens it is nothing on my system doing it. It's almost virus-like, yet I have a Mac, so clearly the modem is doing this on its own, and what is being transferred, I have no idea.

Cricket Wireless bad service. unorganized business practices.

Well, thought I'd post this for all the unsatisfied Cricket customers out there. I have three accounts with Cricket, two cell phones for me and my husband and a broadband internet account.

For the last two months, I got my bill in the mail for one cell phone and the broadband account. However, my second cell phone bill not not come in the mail for two months in a row. The first month, I thought it might have been my mistake (as I get the three bills and don't save my paper copy after I pay) and paid the reactivation fee. When it happened the second month (2 months in a row) I told customer service it has to be their error because it's the second month in a row and I paid attention.

I told them I wanted the late fees removed from my account for the 2 months or I was not paying. Store rep wouldn't do it. On the phone the first rep told me hw wouldn't do it. So I told him the least he could do would be to refund the $1.25 per bill that I pay extra for my apper bill. He eagerly agreed to get me off the phone.

I told him to transfer me to a supervisor immediately. When he came on I said, there is no way Cricket would let someone remove part of a bill if there was no cause. By telling me he would remove my paper bill fee that is acknowledgement that the bills probably never made it to my address. He said that he would not remove the late fees because I must have been told at any point during my relationship with Cricket when my bill was due (I had called several times regarding a crappy phone the wouldn't be replaced though under warrenty or returned within the first week). I told him, actually no, in fact, your employee who was just speaking to me didn't state when my bill was due and as I request all phone calls to be recorded you can check. He called me a liar. Then he said if I called the first month this happened they would have credited me as a one-time courtesy. I asked to speak to his supervisor. None was available.

I read the Terms & Conditions of the agreement, which says that you have 60 days to dispute any charge, which means he could have refunded me the second month. I wrote to Cricket stating I wanted my paper bills fee removed for 2 months, my late fees removed for 2 months, and two months of free service (which should come out to about only 3 months of free service) or I would chargeback on all my accounts, which would be over $500 for the past 120 days (maximum allowed by your credit card).

Some guy named Tom wrote me a letter giving me a complaint number. I called customer service. Apparently this rep was only allowed to remove $5 from my bill. I told her this was unsatisfactory. I got my bill in the mail (finally!) and it said I owed like $80 to keep my $35 plan on for one more month. I called about it and this time the rep said oh, that is a mistake, they reduced to about $42 (my normal bill after taxes and such), which means I did finally get the 2 months of late fees removed.

SO good news for anyone else out there in the same predicament. Just do what I did above.

However, true to my letter, I am still charging back on all accounts because they did not give me my 2 months free service for the hassel or remove the paper bill fee for two months. And had I not called, they would have probably let me pay that $80. Besides, it'll probably still show up on next months bill. Plus, he phone I use sucks and though brand new, it doesn't charge. They wouldn't return it because I used it for 31 minutes (it's a 30 min max). So far, they replaced my charger and my battery and it still doesn't stay on for more than a few hours when it's not in the charger. Plus, while it's in the charger it gets really hot. They're unconcerned. I have yet to get my rebates for my broadband or a second cell phone (cuz 1st one doesn't work). And the broadband disconnects for no reason. Tech support - they're typically nice, but are totally unhelpful. 'Is it plugged in?' 'Do you use your phone to make phone calls?'

Anyway, should I pay another $150 this month when they can't do a simple task such as give me free service for a little while when they obviously messed up? Honestly, I would probably stay with them if they did that. Or should I get my $150 for the last 4 months back? I'll take the $600, thank you.

Oh, and I hope the guy who called me a liar gets fired.

Just an update, I lost my charge-back case :( The way Cricket is set-up with credit card processing, they do not need a signed contract, nor does your credit card even need to be swiped! The best thing to do would be to claim fraud and get a new card issued if you really need to get the money back :(

Unfortunately he will not get fired. This is not an isolated incident. It is a way of business. They have poor reception but because they were unlimited they could get away with it. With the other services such as boost and t-mobile proper being around they are losing market share and doing NOTHING to keep their customers.

Cricket Wireless Lazy Executives

Here are some of the thousands of complaints logged against your company. I was a customer when you first went into Arkansas and realized that you were new and there would be problems. After all these years you have gotten worst! You need to FIRE those lazy and stupid people who answers the phones and give information. I know cheap labor can be found in India and the Philippines but they are so rude and unprofessional. Also fire those desk sales reps because as you can see they cause the biggest problems with giving the wrong service contracts to make more commissions or just plain dont give a damn about customer service. There are a lot of qualified customer service people now without jobs and would love to have one and will do a great job for you. The people you have now dont appreciate having a job with your company because if they did they would do it at least 65% of what you hired them for!I know you are the Fat cats and the bottom line is $$$$$..but send a message to the scrubs that you will no longer accept sub standard work performance and have them get off their lazy ### and do what you are paying them to do and stop running your company into the pits. Sooner or later the poor blacks, whites and Mexicans will be targeted buy other professional ran companies like verizon, sprint, and t-moble and you will be wondering what happened...THOSE LAZY RUDE grunt workers drove your customers away!Hello Human resource PERSON! Crack down on them and tell them to treat customers with some respect and actually provide some helpful SERVICE..Mr Hutcheson get off the golf course and make a surprise call to your customer service and tell them that they gave you the wrong plan and ask for the correct plan and a refund on your previous payment..or that they over billed you...or you are not getting good service and see what WE as customers have to go through. I bet you dont use Cricket wireless..lol Who is you cell phone carrier?

I agree I just got off the phone with them where I was charged for roaming but i was in a covered area. The head supervisor told me he can NOT refund anything and told me that if it says roaming then i was roaming. I looked at the coverage area online. I told him i am in the covered area and should not be charged, I wanted my money back. He redirected me to the terms page and told me to look at #11 billing and payment Letter E. NO REFUND for anything is what it boils down to. I ask him (Max-Emp#1178) for someone higher then him and have to email corporate. Wheres the number? He dont have it and cant give it to me. Well I found it the internet is wonderful! [protected], I will be calling tomorrow.

Cricket Wireless broadband service?

Be advised that cricket broadband wireless blocks outbound smtp (Simple mail transfer protocol) traffic.

For non-techies, that means you will not be able to send outbound pop3 email from your outlook or outlook express.

This is common among cheap hotels that fear their free internet service will be used by spammers.

You must use browser-based email, or you must be running ms exchange server.

To me this is not real internet access, but a real bate-n-switch

I recently signed up for Cricket Broadband and had the same complaint until I did a little investigating. Here's the solution that I came up with. I use Yahoo! for my e-mail. They offer an alternate SMTP port for ISPs who block the standard port:25, which isn't that uncommon. For Yahoo! the alternate port is port:587. Make sure that you have authentication enabled and use the same settings as your incoming (which with Yahoo! is encrypted and uses port:995). Call your ISP or e-mail provider and find out what alternate listening ports they offer for SMTP. Problem solved.

Here is the complaint I just wrote to the FTC and BBB for my recent experience...

Cricket advertises a broadband mobile card that has speeds of 400-700 kb/s. After activation, I received speeds of about 32 kb/s on my laptop, which is basically unusable and no where close to the advertised broadband speeds.

The sales representative at this location told me when I bought the modem and first month of service that there were no returns at all. I tried to return the device in person two days later but the manager was not there so no one knew how to process the return.

I called the next day multiple times and at first received the same knee jerk response that they did not not do refunds. Then they said they would call customer service and try to get the modem working. They called back 1 hour later and asked me if it was working. I told them I hadn't even tried it again, and they quickly told me I could return it today, but it had to be today because they have a 3 day return policy. However, they could not refund the $28 activation fee because Cricket headquarters had no mechanism to return this fee to them and they were already charged for it.

I called Cricket customer service and after a 1/2 hour hold time reached a representative and then escalated it to a manager. The manager refused to refund the $28 activation fee.

Final conclusion, this practice has to be some sort of fraud and against some law. They sold me a device that didn't work as advertised, I had trouble returning it because someone capable of doing the return wasn't on site and initially lied to me and told me they had no return policy even though it was actually 3 days.

The most blatantly fraudulent thing is that they refused to refund a $28 activation fee for a device that never worked anything close to how it was advertised. This has to be against some sort of consumer protection law. Cricket seems to be a large reputable company. I've never had such a ridiculously bad customer experience with what appears to be a large reputable company.

Please stop them from what seems to be a highly illegal practice.

I paid $300 for the new Motorola Hint. I know the phone is capable of accessing youtube videos but, cricket has it blocked while using them as a cell carrier. I called and the rep said all she had to do is "refresh" the phone and it would then play youtube videos. That was BS. And the phones "mobile web" would not connect after she refreshed the phone. That was almost a week ago and they will do nothing to fix this problem. FYI..found out Cricket's customer service is located in the Phillipenes. I know I didnt spell that right, but you know what I mean. $300...flush...down the drain.

First off, when I first received the phone it took them a week to fix the system because for some reason I could not receive text messages. Last month, They turned my phone off and told me I needed to call to give my new credit card information. Today my card was charged for 2 months of service, one month being the month it was off. I called and was given 3 different answers. First one, no problem I would receive a refund. Second, no I would only receive a refund for February. Third, no refund at all. I asked if it made sense to charge for phone service when my phone was off, he actually said, "Yes". Then he said that they were going to charge me an additional 10 dollars for reconnection fee no matter what. I had to cancel my card to stop them. Avoid Cricket, they are cheats and robbers and thieves. If you do decide to go with them DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER! They will charge you forever

Cricket Wireless hidden fees & lies

As submitted to cricket,
Please note right up front…i am not happy in this correspondence. I certainly don’t want to hold any one person responsible for my anger but it’s there.
I started my services with you in january, against a great many peoples’ advice. I figured I have pretty good luck with my accounts and shouldn’t face difficulties with you. However, i’m very disturbed that without notice to me or others; you have chosen to increase an already ridiculous fee by over 100%. The paper billing fee is pathetic.
It may not seem like much, but it is. Mainly because billing is something that everyone l has to do to get paid for services. The fact that you have now made it more expensive for the poor is just disgusting.
It could be the only means of communication because they lost their home, the land line, the job (Need the phone to look for the & ldquo;new” job) & hellip;no computer? Too bad! You are charging for everything you do to get your money. Billing, payments in person, payments over the phone, payments at your own satellite boxes, etc…. But, you say… if we mail it in it’ll only cost us the postage…but cricket” doesn’t want to mail us the bill. If we want physical proof of what we owe or that we paid, we have to pay somebody to use their computer and their printer, or allow you to rob us with your snarkey charges for the statement you used to do for free, so we can keep getting the cheapest wireless service out there. You should be ashamed. It’s petty…cheap…and false advertising. If people really know what you charge for your & ldquo;service” (That used to be a nice word) they’d realize the company isn’t really customer oriented at all. Just greedy and picking your pocket in a sneaky way.
You’re wondering why I would go to so much trouble to complain about $.70 cents. In the grand scheme of things it’s a fortune to me.
Thanks for & ldquo;caring”?

We are looking for someone who is willing to be a class action representative in a lawsuit against Cricket and help out the other consumers they are cheating. We never charge our class action clients any money whatsoever. My email is Chris@CLBrownLaw.com. Please contact me if you are interested in looking into this. Thanks

Cricket is a company that will steal from you and make you think you are going crazy I went into a store and paid and the representative didn't put my money on my account and wrote a fake quote on my account saying I paid with a check and my phone was turned on as a courtesy and they were waiting for approval from my bank when I paid cash and I complained to the owner who is Asian and he was all with ripping me off but I had to go to the store and make the rep run the surveillance tape back to prove I paid my bill aint that something and they need to be audited

Cricket Wireless brodband internet

I recently purchased cricket wireless for my home internet, being only 40.00 a month it beats the other companies, well that’s what I thought, until I realized i’ve been duped and lied to by both the contracted seller and cricket. I purchased the wireless card with the unequivocal understanding that I would by no means be charged a 25.00 activation fee. I was told this by the vender bob as well as by a cricket rep named trahan at the cricket store off mississippi and i225. Well here it is my first bill and not only am I being charged the 25.00 activation fee but I am not getting my first month of service free. What the heck people? To top it all off I spoke to bob and now it turns out that I have had my wireless card for 10 days and that is beyond the time I had to return the item. Since when is this? Has it not always been 30 days? I have called and called and talked to over 5 people and 3 managers at cricket and no one is willing to negotiate. They tolled me that if I was not happy to pay the fees and disconnect service. Witch I should mention that I have had shotty and unreliable service from day one, the device does not work on cloudy days, it will not function when it is windy nor will it get a signal being indoors. I would be stuck with a 125.00 piece of plastic! Beware, do not get cricket, they are skilled scam artists!

Please, everyone who is having trouble w/ Cricket report them to the FCC @[protected]. Maybe if there are enough reports to FCC, Cricket will clean up their act, including sending out their so called rebates & charging people to reactivate when they weren't even billed!

Cricket Wireless harassing calls/terrible cus srvc

Been getting calls to react. Srvc. Am existing customer! Been calling them for a month. Getting automated calls 10-12 times a day. Supervisors are rude and nasty. Can't tell me why they can't stop calls. Rude idiot tonight told me to call my landline carrier and have calls blocked. Have talked to 7 supervisors now. All assured me calls would stop. They haven't. Said they removed my number from account info yet still get 10-12 calls a day. Tired of this. Filing complaints wherever I can. Had enough!

What is with their billing? My Daughter has a pre-pay phone, and sometimes its shut off before our money is used up. Other times the phone service continues even when we have not put money on the phone. There is no rhyme or reason to it at all.
