This is one of the very worst scam credit cards ever. The charges are through the roof ($69 enrollment fee, $69 annual fee, 23% taxed on if you pay late + $29 late payment fee, etc etc). This company logo looks like Capitol One, and the whole junk mail looks like Visa is sending it themself. It had my name printed on it, so now I'm going to find out how they got my name. They even have a debt management program for their customers who file for bankruptcy! SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM.

Approved for a credit card on November 9 2022 I then was emailed that the card shipped on Nov 17 then on Nov 28 I called cause I hadn’t received the card yet and was told it would ship in 24 hours. I then called on Nov 29 and was again told to call in 24-48 hours to make sure the card shipped. They give you the constant run around and give you [censored] [censored] excuses as to what is going on. You can’t understand the customer service representatives as they have very strong accents. It’s literally a nightmare but if I owed them they would call me 10 times a day but I can’t even get a legit answer from them. Very rude and very unprofessional. Credit one is definitely a scam

This company has fraudulently and knowingly stolen my name and personal information and stolen money from my personal bank account and refuses to reimburse the theft and continues lying to the credit bureaus. They have ZERO employees that speak clear concise English, it's nearly impossible to get anyone to answer the phone anyway because the system is 99.100% automated and on the exceedingly rare occasion you get a human their accent is thicker than chocolate and they pretend not to understand you and refuse to change any information. They pretend they're going to put a supervisor on the line when you complain, and it's actually just them putting you on hold before the same person who pretended not to understand you comes back on giving the same lies for answers. They claim they can't help you and insist on trying to send you a credit card and maintain the account full of money they stole from you and refuse to accept any other answer.

I have had credit one for years and have 3 credit cards with them and never had a problem. They don't steal or they wouldn't be in business this long. Horrible thing to say about a company. You had a chance to prove your facts with uploading photos

Sorry but they have always been a good company with me for years

i just recently had same experience. my account with a $50 balance was double maxed out with fraud in sacramento, i live in san francisco. my $500 limit card has $900 balance and it’s nearly all fraud. no access to any of my financial records but they are telling me i’m now late on payrmnt. Also, i called about the fraud when it happened to dispute as well as i received credit one text notifications as it happened warning me they my account is under suspicion for fraudulent activity.

all outrageous and complete theft by a supposed legitimate company. Also seems what they did was trigger some new device log in security measure to kick me out of online services and hence from viewing any accounting, statements, or evidence of all of this crime. even though i have the same device and log in that i had been using for 1-2 years. email is natebarry20@gmail.com if anyone has ideas or a credit one contact to a person or dept that actually isn’t part of the company’s fraud and collusion.

If the fee is billed at 8.25 per month it is a MONTHLY fee yet on the credit one statement it says $8.25 ANNUAL fee. SCAM. I couldn't believe it when I went as far back as May 2021 and noticed I was charged every month. Spoke to 4 managers there and all they would offer me was a credit for 2 months. I said I want 11 months of fees credited. They said "we can't" I said " close my account. Had I l known I was being charged 8.25 monthly I would have canceled a year ago."

$99 a year (8.25 X 12) for a $400 credit limit. OMG

I cancelled before activating and they said they were still gonna charge me. I told them “how can I pay that charge if I don’t even have an account?” They started arguing and I said that I was recording the call too. Everything changed - she processed it and zeroed the balance. I recommmend recording your call and advising them you will send the recording to the ftc and the cpfb.

What is even worse is that EVEN IF you cancel your card, Credit One charges customers a monthly fee IN ADDITION to APR. So. even if you do NOT receive paper billing statements and even if you make all your payments electronically through your bank (so there is not even any check to process), Credit One gouges their customers by charging (in my case) $8.25 month to do absolutely NOTHING.

Don't bother contacting the Better Business Bureau because they are totally useless. They couldn't care less about the fraudulent business practices of any bank.

Terrible company, employee mistakes that they put on you. The larger, on time payments you make the more trouble they give you. I even had returned payments of certified money orders. There not a bank, there loan sharks trying to ruin your credit.Im contacting the Attorney Generals Office Of the state of Nevada to see what they can do. I HOPE THE REST OF YOU FILE A COMPLAINT THERE ALSO.

First they sent me a credit card to activate, which I did not. Now I have received a bill for enrollment fee and annual fee. I tried calling these people and I cannot reach them without entering an account number that I don't even have.

This company is an absolute disgrace. I've never dealt with a credit card company as scummy as these guys. The first time dealing with them was approximately a year ago. I cancelled and what they did was took it upon themselves to cancel the account I asked to be cancelled and then proceeded to open another account unbeknownst to me. Is that not grimey or what?

The second (and last time I'll ever deal with this company) decided to hit me with a ton of fees even though I never activated the card. Naturally when I called I got connected to some dude in India that I could barely understand. According to him it didn't matter that I never activated the card. The annual fee becomes active and in need of payment immediately upon being approved or else their scummy little "late fees" start piling on. No reputable credit card company does sleezeball crap like this so as others have said, stick with well-known companies and AVOID Credit One!

PS) Where, Credit One, does it even say that the annual fee is due upon account creation (which they take it upon themselves to open for you the second you're approved so they can start slamming you with fees). It states it NOWHERE! So sneaky and despicable!

@creditdebit Be kinder to people, not all people are really capable of understanding that print and companies do take advantage of these people. Be grateful your not one of them and maybe try to help those that can't understand it. Or just say nothing if all you have are criticisms.

THis company is a ripoff, i got my first statement, only had the account open for a month, they are claiming i owe 2 payments and a late fee when my first pymt isnt even due until 12/1/12. This company just wants your money. There people are scammers, it has nothing to do with paying on time, i always pay my bills on time, but for them to lie to you just to get money out of you is insane. They are not running the business like they should be.

I was a good credit before i had the bad luck to get this credit card . i had some money issue so i had to accept this fraud card, i paid first and second month and at the third month everytime i try to log in to pay i could not, i thought there was a problem in the website and they will fix it, i was working at night so i used to try to call them at the morning, then all of sudden i received a call saying that it is a collection and i have to pay some amount of money, i could not belive this i called credit one and they said they have no record to me any more they already sold my account. when i found that i was under fraud and i can not take my right back and they already damaged my credit i said i will not pay anything for the collection i felt like if i pay the monet then they got what they want which is stealing people and have them lose their credit. i said no way to be part of their dirty plan but it end me up to lose my good credit until next 2015 . i wish from the bottom of my heart that this combany get bunich and charged as much as they damaged the life of many people .

I had account with Credit One for 3 years. No problems. All payments up to date. no issue. One day figured "Hey, maybe I should ask these guys for a credit limit increase" figuring its been 3 years, Im a good customer.
Their rep answered the phone and informed me my account was closed even though I was logged into their website and saw nothing about this and no mail about it.
The explanation was I didnt renew with them.
I obviously pointed out that I never faced any renewal in my previous 3 years with them before.
At this point their rep began talking over me over and over saying my account was closed.
It anger me to the point where I had to yell at her to listen to me.
I yelled to her shell get her measly 200 bucks and I threatened to them if I get any phone calls or even hear their name again I will get my lawyer and bring them on harassment charges.

This line of credit is dumb. They obviously do not want to support a long term account. Their the little guys on the totem pole. Move you in and out, etc... pathetic

Stick with major CC carrier like Discover unless you want to have to yell at obnoxious service reps in India.

Credit One Bank is NOT a bank. This is just a company that collects customer information through applications and send statements with FALSE charges for Credit Card that you never accepted in the first place nor do you own them. I have reported them to BBB.

I just made the same mistake of filling out an online application for one of these cards. A few days later, I get a bill for 75 dollars before I even activated the card. Fortunately, I called them and said that I didn't actually SIGN anything. I just filled out an online application which is FAR different then agreeing with a handwritten signature to the bogus terms they laid out. The woman tried to explain that when I filled out the form that was like signing it. I told her I filled out an application for a card but never agreed to the card if it was approved. I also told her that they are participating in a scam and they know very well that this is a con. She then told me that if I haven't activated the card, she will simply cancel it and I don't have to pay anything. DID you hear that folks? Just call them up and tell them you don't wish to activate the card and you want the charge taken off. They will tell you to just cut up the card. She told me no more bills will be sent and to disregard the bill they already sent me. That was it folks.

Oh no. I just applied for this card and I'm supposed to be receiving it in the mail.. but from reading everyone's responses, I guess not! I just recently filed for bankruptcy 2 years ago and trying to rebuild my credit. I'm so scared now that I may be put back in the hole because of this company! How do I close my account without them charging me all these fees that I've been reading about? This is so unfortunate that in this economy these credit card companies are preying on desperate individuals trying to get themselves back on track. I'm so disgusted! I don't want this card anymore and I haven't even received it yet!

Well, I guess I am kind of neutral on this matter. I opened my account with CreditOne back in 2007. Yes, I paid the $69 activation fee (the cost for having less than good credit to begin with). I do hate the fact that the annual fee is annuatized (assessed monthly) but it does help avoid the hassle of remembering what month the annual fee is due and trying not to let an annual fee send me over my limit of which they would have charged me $32. I did have to pay the phone payment and online payments a couple of time because I had forgotten to schedule it through online banking with my bank (poor planning on my part does not mean an emergency on their part). Once I had my online banking set to send them a payment on the first of every month (not just the minumum) I no longer had the threat of late fees, over the limit fees or online payment fees. I did get a late payment fee once and when I asked if the fee could be waived this one time it was no big deal. Maybe if I hadn't gotten my online banking set up on time, maybe I would have the same complaints as posted here. However, I must say that my experience with CreditOne Bank has been OK.

I got this CREDIT ONE credit card a few months ago. I lost my job I was in dare need of money to pay off some bills. My monthly payment date was not due for a couple of days but I kept getting rude phone calls for a North Eastern African female representative. One such call was on a Sunday as I was getting ready for Worship. I told her that my payment was not due yet and that she should give me sometime. She said that if I call the next day to make my payment, I will be charge a processing fee of $9.00 and if I make the payment in a couple days I will be charged a late fee of $35.00 this is on the day that my payment will actually be due. I am just told now that they even charge you to make a payment online. I pay all my bills online. This is terrible. Because I declined to make a payment on the day she called me, she became angry, was abusive and slammed the phone on me. Buy BEWARE of this SCAM. As soon as, I am able to pay-up the remaining balance on my account I will close this credit card.

I have other credit cards and I have never being insulted or treated in this manner.

In my experience, the only other bank with terrible customer representative is JP Morgan Chase.

I've had this credit card since february 2008. Yes i also got charged the $69.00 for opening the account. The weird thing is that i never even applied for this credit card and it just arrived in the mail one day. I was 19 at the time so of course i was excited to have a credit card and i didn't think anything of it so i activated it and paid the $69.00. They are pretty lame they charge $9.99 to pay your bill online plus they charge the annual fee in the amount of $5.95 every month. For the people complaining about the $9.99 fee just mail in your monthly payment thats what i do every month and i save myself $9.99 but mail it in 5-7 days before your bill is due that way it gets there on time. If you do decide to mail in your monthly payments then keep track of the last transaction on your credit card that way you will know which is your last transaction on your credit card so that when it posts you know you don't have any other transactions pending. The thing that i hate about this credit card is that i have had it for over 2 years, i have never made a late payment, I always pay my balance in full, and my credit limit is only $525.00 and my interest rate is still 23% which is pretty lame. I definately don't recommend this credit card to anyone if i could go back in time knowing what i know now about this credit card i would not have activated it. Like everyone else i wish i could cancel this credit card without hurting my credit score but unfortunately I can't so I am EXTRA careful with this credit card.

A big round of applause for that VERY PROFFESIONAL response from CreditDebit. My question is “ is that all you got”? You did not address one single accusation but rather resort to personally attacking people? Why am I not surprised you would do something like that? My guess is Robert DeJong probably got on here himself to try and counter the attacks (Having a better business rating of F) and CLERLY make a great case for Credit One Bank. Maybe if all of us “Bunch of losers” were working for a company like say…. Credit One Bank…. where we too could rip people off based on the misleading information and advertising, we too could be financially responsible after all. So case closed I see. Credit One Bank is not wrong at all….. we just simply don’t know how to read.

For all you nay-sayers... if you took responsibility with your finances in the first place, all of you could have a regular bank credit card. All of you applied for this credit card agreeing to ALL of the terms and fine print information. NO ONE forced you to apply and receive this card. IF YOU CANNOT READ and UNDERSTAND ENGLISH, then you have no business applying in the first place. What a bunch of losers you complainers are! Get a real job, be resposible with your finances, pay ALL of your bills on time, and get a life instead of nagging, crying and complaining about your sorry self-induced situation. If anyone has comitted fraud here, it is only to yourselves.

I have been a CreditOne cardholder for almost a year. While it sucks that they charge you a big fee to open, and break down the yearly fee into monthly bits (that's the $5.75 mystery charge some people have complained about), they've been pretty good about my account. I didn't read the screens the first time I went to make a payment, so I incurred the online payment fee, but their customer service helped me out and waived the fees. I use Bank of America's online bill pay feature to make payments, which doesn't incur any additional charges. They increased my credit limit within 6 months of perfect payment history, and I haven't had any payments held over or any of the other issues many have reported. I'm sure that, like most "sub-prime" cards, there are astronomical fees for late payments and over-limit situations, but it's a low limit card so that payments are affordable and you can build up to a "real" credit card some day. My suggestion is that, if you go with CreditOne, do things the right way (pay on time - in full, if possible) and it will help. In the time that I've been with CreditOne, my credit scores have each jumped by over 100 points, including a jump of 150+ points with TransUnion.

The fees suck ###, but that's what you get when you have bad credit or bad history. I have 698 score, but because I was a victim of Fraud / ID theft, I can't open accounts with many places. Specifically, anything being guaranteed by HSBC. I just got turned down at BestBuy trying to buy a TV.

I only have a $200 limit, below the lowest advertised limit, but hey, it's something.

As far as the fees. If you have a bank account, most likely it has a bill paying feature. Ues that to pay your credit one account. I don't use the credit one site to pay my bill because of the $8 fee. Either mail it in, or use bill pay using your bank's website.

Also, don't cancel your card. Just don't use it. Closing the account actually hurts your credit.

I actually have a credit one bank card that works great, there late fees are high, and they charge you to make a payment online, but other then that its been a OK card to have, and they increase my limit about every 8 months.

I was burned bad on first premier bank, what a ###ing joke they are, I payed off the card, which was never used, just there charges from opening it, and canceled it, and they still put it on my credit as a collection account, I would love to find the guy that did that and burn his house down.

I got a credit one card almost a year ago, the fees pissed me off but I thought I had to do it to raise my credit score. I managed to get it up to 675 before I couldn't pay one month which is when the fees rolled in. (they were charging me 7.50 a month + 10 dollars to pay my bill, bs). I got one late fee of $29 and a over the limit fee of $39 and I couldn't pay the bill off so it went 2 or 3 more months. Needless to say my credit score is down in the low 400s and I probably can't fix my credit now without keeping the card, but out of angry I canceled the card. A week later I paid off the bill down to 30 dollars and asked to have it re-enabled and they told me I had to pay off my entire bill in order to get my card reactivated. WHY?!

So anyways, I'm keeping my card canceled, finishing off my bill and I'll go to my credit union and ask for a real student card to help fix my credit even if its only a 100 dollars I don't care, that place is BS do not use it! Also the same person answers the call line every single time I call, her name is Jen and she has an Indian accent. They are also unwilling to negotiate on reducing your bill or offer a payment plan to avoid future late fees, a total shark!

They've posted mine after the due date as well. This company has been known to sit on payments so they can charge you late fee's, over the limit fee's etc. There's a reason they have lawsuits coming out their ###. They use to be known as the First Bank Of Marin, but changed their name due to lawsuits and money they owed their customers over fradulent billing practices and what not.

I'm still getting ripped off from these clowns. My statement this month shows they waited to cash my payment until after they charged me a late fee and an over the limit fee. I sent them $75 on the 18th of this month and it shows on my account that it was made and received however, a day later on the 19th i had $62 in fee's and charges thanks to the $30 late fee and a $32 over the limit charge. Yet the payment they recieved the day before should have put me way back in the "positive"

I've had this happen before where they either sit on payments to charge a late fee or where they refuse to fix their mistakes. I've already been in contact with a lawyer over these vultures. I suggest everyone who's been ripped off by these people contact their attorney general or the FTC and file complaints.

I got burned big time by First Premier Bank, which gives you $300 credit line, but they hit you up with hundreds of dollars in up front fees so that you have an initial balance of about $40 (more or less), and paying loan shark interest on the up front fees. They also charge through the nose for online access.

What's scary is that these guys are really marketing scams. They make their money by selling your personal info--including your SSN--to whichever Ukranian Mob outfit is willing to pay for it. They charge you up the whazoo to sell your personal info... These scammers should be flogged to within inches of their lives...

But, I digress--Thanks again for your posts. You helped me, and cost creditNone some business.
