This company is another one of those credit card companies that thinks that they can squeeze blood from a turnip. We have been trying to pay these people every single month and calling them and working with them and still they charge our credit card fees that surpass the amount of money that we pay.

This creates a never-ending debt that can never be repaid that they hope to be charging us for forever. They refuse to work with us and they simply demand money that we just don't have. We are sorry that we got into debt, but we are like a lot of people who did that.

We don't have any active credit accounts anymore and we are paying off $7,500 in debt at the rate of $293 per month. At that rate, the debt will be paid in a little over two years. I think that we are working as hard as we possibly can to get out of debt, but this company, unlike the other 14 creditors on our debt management plan, refuses to accept payments, keeps the size of the debt going up and plans on taking the next step of suing us.

Thing is, we beg food from the church every month now and there is nothing for them to get from suing us. No judge on the planet will force us to beg more food from the church every month and that is what these people think they are going to get one to do. Good luck with that, Credit One.

I can't make a payment! I usually pay my account in full each month with the auto pay feature. My bank had to close my bank account and open another one because it was hacked. I was automatic payment with Credit One. Before I could change the banking information on the website, they suspended my account because the automatic payment came back indicating the account was closed. Since my account is now suspended, I cannot change my bank information nor can I make a payment. When I called, they told me I had to get a letter from the bank, and mail it to them, indicating the account was closed before the would take the suspension off. In the meantime, I was told I could mail a check or money order or wire transfer. This is ridicules that I can't go online and make a manual payment and change my info nor can I use the phone system to make a payment. I'm sure this is another scam and a way for them to start racking up the fees before I get a chance to close the account.

This company is terrible. Its a never ending revolving debt that never seems to decrease no matter how much you pay. I will scream it from the top of my lungs and everyone I know to NEVER EVER EVER get a CC from this company. I promise you with all that I have!

Just paid off my account in full - but apparently I didn't according to all the comments posted. Called to make sure and they said I owed thirty some dollars yet. Now I got the amount I owed when I called the bank - I then got a money order - and I still owe them! They won't let me close this account until I paid the additional money.

Credit one says that they are proud of their accomplishments. The only thing that they seem proud of is [censor] people over. I recommend that people close their bank accounts and stiff Credit One if problems persist. If they sue, so what. The judge will be a whole lot more fair than they will.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - I opened an account to establish credit. I was told that every year there is a $75 fee to have the card. Instead they started charging my card a $8 monthly fee for the use and I received NO notice. Then after a few months they demanded I pay a late fee of $35 dollar each month the $8 was not paid! I asked them why they didn't ask or notify me of the change from the one fee of $75 a year to a $8 monthly fee to have the card. They told me the contract allows them to make changes to the fee as they wish. I paid and closed the account, but I do expect more issues. The customer service is in India and they act like they don't understand English and understand what you are asking. It took several attempts to get a manager to close the account also. JUST DON'T SIGNUP !

Credit One is a predatory loan institution. Unsolicited mail came to me, and a credit card was inside, I tossed it. They sent me another one, and I posted a photo with it chopped in half, now they are trying to go through legal proceeding against me. Stay away from this company, and who the hell cares if they are "FDIC insured cert#25620". I'm sure the central bank is... insured by the central bank.

I paid my account with them always timely via online and in full. They constantly want to upgrade me and increase my credit. When keep saying "no" now I cannot access my account online for over eight months after multiple PW changes etc. They are rude on the phone and act like I'm an ### and it's all my fault I cannot access my account online. Their "tech" never calls back. I now have to use automated telephone system. I think this is a form of blackmail to get you to agree to increased line of credit. I also think their site is constantly hacked or attempted. I plan on closing account via certified mail, filing complaint with BBB and Secretary of State Consumer Affairs Division.

I just received my Credit One Bank Credit Card. I just activated it with the credit limit of $300. I tried to go online to pay two parking tickets which totaled to $112.00. When i put in my card information, there was a message that appeared informing me that the card has been declined. I've never had an issue like this before and I hope that I did something wrong on my part. If it's them, then i'm cancelling this account immediately.

Beware of Credit One Credit cards. In the contract you accept, there is a clause that they will charge you a monthly fee even if there is no balance on the card. If you don't pay the fee on time, you get a $29 late fee...those fees for nothing add up quickly! Then when you phone for assistance, and you FINALLY get a human, you are transferred repeatedly and they will NOT remove the fees and late fees for keeping the card open!...

First off this company specializes in people with bad credit. It gives the ones who have no credit or bad credit the opportunity to rebuild their credit history. This card is not designed to run up a balance. If you take this card with the intention of running up a high balance then my advice would be to keep looking. Yes they charge high fees. Yes they charge high interest but not as bad as some others. If you do take this card and run up a high balance you are to stupid to have good credit anyway. I have had one for a while now. I keep my reported balance under $50. I have no problems.

This is a good card if your just STARTING to rebuild your credit. But if you have a credit score of 600 or higher you would be well advised to try another card such as Capital One or Discover even if its a secured card...Just my 2 cents

I paid off a credit card today that has 24% interest on it. There is 3.43 cents of rewards I supposedly earned and I wanted it sent to me. So they offered me 35.00 credit toward my card balance TO MY CARD – (my balance is zero mind you) along with the 3.43 cents.. I said is it my money? He said yes.. so he kept trying to force the credits on a zero balance – so finally I said.. you don’t seem to get it .. I am closing the account and I said those credits do me no good if my account is closed and to please send my 3.43cents of earned credit rewards. He said no, I will have to zero the reward balance out and close your account. I said WOW... The sad part is I don't believe there is anything I can do about it.

I made the mistake of getting a card with this company, and they have done the same thing to me. All kinds of fees that do not make any sense and when I couldn't pay them anymore because of other financial obligations, I wrote them a letter. THEY DO NOT CARE, they WILL NOT SETTLE. I just received a letter from some law office saying they will come after me for the money but the joke is on them because I am unemployed and my husband is self-employed so they cannot garnish wages. Their customer service also STINKS, when you can get someone on the phone (Which isn't often) they have no one that speaks English and they are rude and always making excuses for fees and other things they charge that make absolutely no sense. Whatever you do DO NOT get involved with this company.

I did not like Credit One Bank, I used them to rebuild my credit once i did, it took 3 calls and numerous times of saying i wanted to cancel my card and close my card.. only to get a bill the next month.. i called a 4th time and they said they will waive the last fee but now i have a late charge on the card...

Credit One Bank received my payment, cashed my check, then did not credit my account. I sent them a copy of the check, a bank statement from the bank, a copy of the bank manager's card and a letter. Then Credit One told me that another company had cashed the check. Because we are a law firm, our mail is picked up by a private company and delivered directly to the post office. I also use unwashable ink on my checks to prevent theft. I don't think so. It has been over a month and I am still being harassed by phone calls, up to four a day, by Credit One. It took 13 faxes to get a response from someone, and then they tell me that another company cashed the check. I find this highly implausible when my copy of the check still says Credit One Bank. I am still considering my next steps which include the Better Business Bureau, an investigative reporter and a possible lawsuit.

Yes they suck you in with a bogus sign up no fee- received my card and two days later I have an invoice, hadn't even used it, of $75.00-activation fee, spoke with three people, all from india, they cancelled my card and waved the fee, , supposedly. Sent a letter where somewhere it state such a fee could not find, must be that invisible ink. Word is STAY AWAY- they are replicating Capital One, colors and all, ###!

I received this CC in the mail and activated it, 2 weeks later I posted a payment online through my bank. I still had 2 weeks before my first bill is due and started receiving harassing phone calls with someone yelling at me over the phone saying I owe them money and why would I borrow money and not pay it back. I tried to tell them that I am away from a computer to view my account and have made a payment which wasn't even due yet. He continued to yell and cut me off with every sentence. I tried to make accommodations with these people and all they do is call and demand for my bank account number and routing number. I reject giving out that information and have proof that it was taken from my account twice. A month later and 3 payments in... I receive a letter in the mail saying my payment was sent back due to no account was found with their company for me at all. I started being harassed over the phone all over again. They tell me that my bank account is negative (which is false) and that they never receive any of my payment (false again) and that they have sent one payment back (which i never got back) because i had no money in my account? That doesn't even begin to make sense. So they are taking my payments and froze my online account access so i cant see whats really going on and while all of this is happening, they are tacking on every charge possible. Telling me I need a bank verification letter with all of my information, my account number, routing number, my signature & SS? and the only reason they want all of this is to show its not a problem on my end? I refuse to just give over my identity to these people to do as they please with. I'm only 2 months in and trapped. They take my payments and deny it, even has asked me to send a check out of my account or do a money transfer (money gram) I am not the idiot they are trying to play me for. I have made 3 payments which are not being credited for 2 billing cycles, but being charged 4 late fees of $50 each and their reasoning behind charging me 4 times is because after every time i had non sufficient fund they charge me a late fee and a charge for the NSF.My bank will not let me post a payment through bill pay if i have NSF. And even if i only went through 2 bill cycles it counts how many failed attempts to charge me for not how many months were being charged. This is exactly why its important to do your research before signing up for anything...

I complained about a fraudulent charge on my account. The agreed to send me a new card, but then I have never been able to get a statement from that billing period. The charge appeared on 10/31/2013. I spoke to the online merchant, and it is a business that I frequently do business with. They knew right away it was fraudulent, and they notified me, I had not yet gotten to their email when I noticed the charge in my Credit One account. So when I reported the charge to Credit One, the customer service guy was horribly rude, I couldn't understand his accent (he really could barely speak English, and I live in a very diverse community so I'm used to that sort of thing, basic communication is essenetial, and if he can't communicate, he shouldn't be on the phone.) So I get a letter, on Nov 25, telling me there were no fraudulent charges made on or after Nov 1. The charge was made on Oct 31! They're deliberately avoiding the point. And what's more, they've deliberately avoided giving me my statement. I've been given a statement for the period ending 10/3/2013. And for some reason the statement for the next period (which I would think would be ending around 11/3/2013.) is "conveniently" missing. And when I called to complain about it? I was "conveniently" disconnected. And when I called again, I was "conveniently" left on hold for over an hour. Screw it, it was only 20 bucks. I just need to pay these scam artists off and move on.

CREDIT ONE IS A THIEF, A WOLF IN SHEEPS CLOTHING, BEWARE! I obtained my card with credit one "bank" approx. 3 years ago. My initial available balance with them was 200.00. I was working and in good health at that time so I allowed automatic payments to come out of my account every month, typically I paid double the minimum payment, to increase my credit score. I noticed that there were some charges on my statement that credit one was charging me that were not (to my knowledge) anywhere on the agreement of terms. I called repeatedly, tried contacting them via web site (where I applied for the card) never once did anyone (customer service) respond to my need for help in fixing their errors. I lost my job, due to an illness that had me in a wheel chair, hospitals, cancer specialist etc. I tried to reach them before I was late on any payments, I was going to ask about the insurance I purchased to protect me incase of a situation like this and to tell them what was happening with my health/job and see if there was anything I could do to keep my great rating with them from being destroyed. Again, no response. I wrote them a letter, no response. Soon, my payments stopped being made because food, water & electric was necessity for my 14 y.o daughter and I. The long of the short of it, I contacted several debt consolidation companies (the most professional & helpful was care-one) ironically, all the companies said the same thing "Oh, you have a credit one card, they will not work with us or their customers". So, my credit limit that had been raised to 500, of which I used 329.00, is now up to 1200 dollars with late fees, over the limit fees (from their late fees, no use fees, etc. I did finally reach someone about 6 months ago, explained what was happening, she said "that is not the c/c companies problem and I owe the balance in full immediately". I asked for a manager and was told there was not a manager in on that day! I asked her for the name of a customer service manager and a finance manager, she told me she could not give out that information! I asked for their direct number so I could reach one of them the following day, again, she responded we can not give out that information...and then the line mysteriously disconnected! How is this possible that they can charge me almost 1000.00 in fee's, against my 329.00 purchases total? Is this legal? Isn't there some kind of cap on the extent that big "banks" can rape and pillage you? I feel trapped & threatened by these people! I have never experienced anything like this, I have had credit since I was 16. I have dealt with many banks and c/c companies and I haven't ever felt so "stuck" or
"--cked" by a financial institution. They should be shut down by the federal banking and finance commission, after a huge lawsuit makes them liable to payback or credit back their customers who have been severely over charged and taken advantage of.

I signed up for this card a couple of months ago, having the intent of charging only what I can afford to pay off every month. So far it's been great. Yes there are fees up the wazoo, but you guys need to read their terms and conditions. Every fee is listed in there. Including the initial annual fee, the annual fee that's broken up over 12 months after the 1st year. The only thing I was frustrated with was they don't tell you what is considered a "premium" credit card design and charge you- I just ordered the basic black credit one design. I question their logo which is similar to Capital One as well. But, again, it's my fault I got into a bad credit situation and trying to rebuild I have to accept responsibility for the fact credit card companies will take advantage of the fact that I have crappy credit.

I do not understand, though, why when I paid off my balance last month, I get a credit card bill for $1.51 for interest charges. I will be contacting the Las Vegas office to question that one.

I have been using the Card One for about six months and I'm amazed they are allowed to operate at all.

I came back from taking my Parents to Heathrow airport. I parked in a car park as I wanted to wait with them and make sure they got on their way to Lanzarote for a holiday OK. I got back to the car about 2 hours later and drove to the exit and put my Card One card into the machine where it was refused. I had a queue of cars behind me and was getting a bit embarrassed that my card wasn't working when I know I had plenty of credit. I called Card One to be told that they had a company policy to not allow the use of their card at any car park. This is to help me control my money, I was told. I ended up having to go back to the terminal draw some cash on the card, for which card one charge me for the pleasure, then go back to the car park to get my car. I have had a good look at the Card One web site - there is no mention of there being any companies or situations that have been blacklisted by Card One, there is a statement that not all retailers can take the card but that is a standard statement and covers them if a card machine is faulty or the merchant has some issue of their own. I rang Card ONe and asked if there were other business's and situations where my card will not work in a machine. The operator told me that there were. I asked for a list of these companies so that I did not get into this unpleasant situation again. He said that he was not allowed to give me the list of companies that Card One would disallow transactions.

How on earth are we supposed to know where you can and can't use their card, its just a lottery. I have since had the card refused at a petrol station and my local supermarket.

Final straw! - I wanted to pay in a cheque. Found that I had to order a paying in slip from them at £3.50. This is just licensed robbery.

Please, please please, if you are reading this do not waste you money and efforts with Card One Banking.

This card is the worst credit card ever. My balance goes up every single month and i barely use it...Interest charges - through the roof. Annual Fee - $99. (which they charge 8.25 everymonth). credit protection fees which i did not apply for...and even with those fees my account was not protected. some one charged $200.00 on my account with credit one, i called to file a dispute, they said i have to write a letter and fax it..I dont even have a damn fax machine. and I can barely afford stamps thanks to this fradulent credit company. Please send an e-mail to Maple2008@aol.com so he can address this issue to the FDIC becuase i simply dont have time

This card is impossible to pay off if you want to pay at a slow, steady rate. The interest is exorbitant, they con you into their "insurance" which is nothing short of an added fee, and they bill you monthy for their annual fee. In short, I was being charged $8 in interest, about $3 in insurance, and $8 in annual fees on a $400 balance. With a $30 minimum monthly payment, it's nearly impossible to shake this debt. The solution? Apply for a 0% introductory rate card that has no annual feeand transfer the balance. Might I suggest Capital One? That's what I did. Let this be a lesson learned. Do not buy the item if you cannot pay in cash. Credit should only be used in emergencies if you already are in debt. It's called common sense.

I got this great offer from Credit One Bank and was given a $500.00 limit. It came just in time to pay for my auto tags, which was $390.0 and all was great. Next, I am receiving over the limit notifications, so I check my account only to find a charge of $6.95 for my credit card design fee, just an American flag on the front, $34.95 for adding an additional user, my spouse to the account and finally $74.95 just for having the card, which they extended until 7/2014. Everything totaled brought my account to .43 cents over my limit. What a bunch of crap. Whe I get paid, I am going to pay this card off and close the f-ing account before they can come up with additional charges. I do not recommend this card or bank to anybody.

I never heard of these people before I actually received a card from them in the mail, which I DID NOT apply for. I ignored it, since the letter said I could call and activate it, or if I did not, it would automatically be cancelled. WRONG! Instead a couple weeks later I get a bill for $75 for the "annual fee". When I called the customer service number on the bill, a recording thanked me for activating my card! When I finally got ahold of a real person they were decent enough and said they would remove the charge and close my account (which I never applied for!). He also said to disregard any future offers, which I replied with firmly stating I didn't ever want to hear a word from them again. So beware just ignoring the cards they sent, make sure you get ahold of someone right away and be straight forward or they will just send you bills for nothing!

Thanks for the posts about this Credit Card company. It surprises me that they are still in business with such bad practices. I got an offer from them by mail with a high limit and thought it was too good to be true but thanks to all of you I've just trashed their proposal. Good luck to all of you trying to get rid of them.

I cancelled my account with Credit One in January 2011. I have the CSR's name and a confirmation number that was given to me when I cancelled the account. However, the account is still open and I am still being billed monthly for an "annual fee" of $5.75. I paid this account off in December. My current balance is $17.36 (these are charges for February and March, plus a late fee of $5.75). I have tried to call Credit One, but when I dial "0" to be connected to a Customer Service Rep (CSR) the line goes dead. Plus, I am sure that this is creating a negative glitch on my credit report.
I am disgusted and disappointed with this type of customer service. What am I to do now?

Creidt One Bank authorized 9 inquries over a 24 hour period after I requested a credit limit increase. I paid them on time for over 38 months with a perfect reporting history, I had a 721 FICO score when I requested the increase, they declined me over the phone in 5 seconds. I told the representative that since my account has a zero balance that I would like to close the account samne day. I was told that I would need to submit my request in writing and that they had no proof that I was the actual account holder. what is even more amazing is that the represenative asked me for all me personal data prior to telling me that he could not extend credit. During the period of written request (9days) I found out they pulled my credit 9 more times and it dropped my credit score from a 721 to 648 score all in 30 days. I contacted my BBB and was told that inquiries would not hurt my score only new accounts. I reviewed the FICO formula under new accounts or 10%, IT INCLUDED inquries. BBB and Credit One Bank are both in it for merchants. Its all about the merchant or so called Credit Bureau Furnisher Propoganda. Whatch out Consumer. Your just a number and they all work in a world of help help the credit industry. Beleive or Not its your credit. Check out www.credit1soluions.com, that guy knows his stuff.

I have an account with Credit One and my issues are not with not being able to make my payments. I used my card to make a purachse. The item I bought did not work so I returned it to the store and they credited my card. I waited and waited and the refund has not showed up on my card. I phoned customer service to get a lady who English was not her first language and she kept insisting that I needed to send a letter to dispute the fraudulent charge. I explained it was not a fradulent charge but a refund and after going around on the merry go round with this lady, I asked to speak with someone else. She asked who did I want to speak with and I asked if she was serious she said kept asking who do want to speak to. I finally get a "supervisor" who tells me although purchases are instant refund credits take 30 days. That means they can continue to charge interest on something I returned a month prior. I paid off my entire balance and removed this card from wallet. They will not bleed me dry. No credit card is worth that. I am sure it will be heck getting my $71.00 credit. Still waiting on that one.

Now i am being charged a 9.25 annual fee this is bs this company is very unprofessional and should not be in business! Every time i ask to speak with a supervisor i get hung up on. I have filed a complaint with the bbb hopefully this matter will be resolved asap. ADVICE TO CONSUMERS STAY AWAY FROM CREDIT ONE BANK!

I actually went online to look up their site to sign-up for a Visa card from them. I had received an invitation from them for a Pre-approved card, when I typed their email site into google it gave me several different sites, and this was one of them so I decided to see what you all had to say about the company and the card. I am so glad I decided to stop here first, I think I just avoided making a big mistake thanks to what everyone here has had to say about them. I think I'll just stay with my Capital One card and the few other store cards I have. I hope you are all able to resolve the problems you are having with this company, and I'd like to thank you for keeping me from getting into something I would later regret.

Good luck to you all!
