Cousins/ Manor sideboard / Return of goods yet to be received

I chose a 'Manor' sideboard on the 1st march 2013. Total cost was £475.00. I paid a deposit of £200 towards it and agreed to pay the remainder once the goods had been received which was estimated between 5-7 weeks. I showed my husband what I had ordered and he was not happy with the purchase and wanted me to contact them to ask if we could change the sideboard for one we both agreed on. I contacted cousins on the 6th march explaining my situation. I was told to speak to the sales person who was not in on that day. I called the next day and spoke to the sales person 'Paul Worrall' who said there was nothing I could do and that I had to have the product, also that it was due to arrive on the 14th march so it was too late. I was not happy and I called back to ask to speak to the manager who was not in on that day. I received a call the following day from the manager who pretty much said the same thing and that it was too late and I cannot return. I called back and said that why can u return goods for other people and not for me, all I wanted was an exchange and not a refund. They stated they do not return certain goods, however they returned a rug my mum bought and are refunding her the full amount. It clearly states on their returns policy they do not return rugs, however on this occasion they did, so why not exchange for me. Now I have come to the point where I want I full refund of my deposit as I still have not received any goods, I worry that if something were to go wrong with it they would do the same and refuse to accept responsibility.
