I have been a "cougar" (paying member) on this site for three months and have met a lot of young men from it. I agree that most are looking for nsa relationships. The definition of a cougar is usually an older, attractive woman looking for an nsa relationship. Therefore, these young men assume that the cougar sites are a means to having sex with someone more experienced without the "drama" afterward. All the men that I have dated have been gentlemen and I never at any time felt pressure from them to engage in sex. Nevertheless, I have. Many of the men I have sex with never contact me again A few keep in touch and we see each other maybe one or two more times. Much of this has to do with the fact that these men ARE young and very self-centered (by this I mean focused on their lives). It is very hard to find a young man who is ready for a long-term commitment and I accept that going into any date. This is not exclusive to a cougar site. Ive had many young men on a non-cougar site also contact me with the same expectations. It is true that the defintion of a cub is usually someone who engages in a relationship with an older woman for a period of time until the excitement for both of them runs out (ie., proverbally "boy toy"). Many of the "cubs" on cougarlife.com talk about their interests but doing activities together never materializes. To an extent, the cougar, who has the advantage because she is wanted, can shape the dynamics. If she insists on doing an activity, being wined and dined, etc. this is sending a message that we are more than just one-night stands or an experiment, but mature, sophisticated women who deserve respect. Decide what your standards are and stick to them. For example, I dont like crude or lude remarks, but I do enjoy flirting and innuendo. If a cub doesnt present a picture or profile, I dont even respond. I insist on chatting with a cub before I will grant them access to my private gallery or agree to date him. (I wish cougarlife.com provided a way to chat onsite as many others do.) Some scam artists are easy to point out and I report my suspicions immediately. If we each do that we will clean the site up for all of us. All sites have scam artists. Its the nature of the venue, unfortunately. I have found that a good way to separate the "wheat from the shaft" is to chat with them a bit. If they seem only interested in naughty pictures, talking exclusively and explicitly about sex, ask to see you on camera (whether or not they do the same) and then ask you to remove clothing or perform a sexual act, show you explicit photos of themselves without your requesting it, chat in a manner inconsistent for their age, express excessive devotion or a desire for a commitment after just meeting, consistently express a desire to meet but then always having scheduling conflicts, I immediately become suspicious. Yes, there are a lot of obstacles and, yes, each has happened to me multiple times but I have had many enjoyable enccounters. If you are looking to experience intimacy and physical pleasure, then a site like cougarlife.com is a great venue for finding this. My dates have all been interesting and have involved good conversation as well as sex. If you are looking for a meaningful relationship with a young man, I cant say you wont find it on this site but it is unlikely -- just as it is unlikely to find this anywhere else.

One more thing... I am on another cougar site as well, and I find cougarlife.com to be much more attractive. Its appearance is very professional and I find a lot more choices.

I paid for a subscription June 20, 2015. I was given 3 options. One seemed more economical, it stated the price and "3 months", nothing else. Clicking on it, it takes you to the payment processing page. I failed to look this page over. The initial price was tripled, and I only found out thru my emailed receipt. The advertised price is PER MONTH, not for 3 months. Added onto this, there is a credit system, which I was not aware of during my purchase. Every time you send me message, you lose credits, so you will likely run out of credits and have to pay even more if you are active. I was really maddened by the marketing scam, deleted my picture and profile information. I called their Customer Service number. Beware: They have a no refund policy, which is apparently available in 3 different areas. They downgraded me to a 1 month subscription, instead of my quarterly, so I got a partial refund which works out to about 40%. This is high end-marketing, bordering being a scam, but they have lawyers write their policies and it's all "legal", just not ethical. Don't expect any customer service from them. I can't comment on the selection from the website. My account shall remain inactive for the month, and I cannot recommend CougarLife under any circumstances. 30 year old professional male

Their commercial has a pornstar named Julia Anne in it (the blonde in the red dress). That right there was a red flag. I have heard nothing but bad things about this site. I even watched a friend start a profile and almost immediately after he was finished he receives about 10 messages from supposed women who were interested in him. Really? That fast and that many?

I am a 43 year old successful woman living in South Florida and I have to say that this site has been very good to me. I am attractive and intelligent, but am interested only in a side NSA arrangement. I had more guys interested in meeting me than I know how to handle, some interested in only hookups others in something more long term. Since I am looking for casual fun, it wasn't a problem if the guys were looking for hookups. I have a lot of interest, so it's been easy to pick the guys I want, and it's usually based on looks, education level and intuition. One 22 old wanted something 'more' and even got jealous that I was still on the site and talking to others. That was a bit odd, and unfortunately it ended. The other guys I met with have stayed in touch, and I could meet with them periodically if I'd like to. From my experience, the site is not fake, as there are plenty of eager available guys. I am not sure about the pool of active female members, it's probably a mixed bag. As for me, I'm quite 'real', have a guest account, recent photos that range from g-rated up the scale. From my perspective, the guys who take time to put together a good profile and recent pics are the ones who catch my attention. I completely dismiss profiles with no pics, and pay close to zero attention to those who have pictures but no narrative description, unless the guy is a CK model. And lastly, all the guys I met were under 30. I see no reason to meet with guys 35 + on this website, although I get plenty of them hitting me up. While I understand some of the negative reviews, many sound whinny, even bitter. I also believe that being in a large metropolitan area increases the pool of active members and the chances of meeting someone.

Also, I pushed my sent message key a couple of times and guess what? Cougar life sent about 50 messages to 50 guys that I did not choose and told them that I was interested in them . Well, it wasn't true. In fact they sent 50 guys messages that lied to them telling them that I was interested in them. Just press your sent messages girls, you will see. So yes it is true the site uses a girl's profile and pics to lie to the guys. Absolutely true. Also I wasn't into any of them . I sent one message to one guy I liked and he emailed me back 2x. At least I think he was real.

I was disgusted and put out by this boy in his twenties that asked me if I was looking to be his sugar momma as he didn't give his out free and he demanded money for his big d#ck. So that's gross crass and illegal. That's when I deleted my account. Not enough good people to outweigh the derelicts and lowlife. Tuck and double tuck. Goodbye cougarlife and good riddance.

for me i haven't checked the site but can imagine from other sites it is a scam or why charge to basically receive facebook?as far as women messaging a guy before they see a picture...well if they are real that is an admirable character and shouldn't be criticized.what because she's not vain?wow!new thing when you start hating on that.there are fake ones out there and can imagine the disappointment and it gets frustrating but best thing to do is go up to random women ask them are you single?i know scary and quite creepy.but i'd rather be creepy and save the 40-50$ that could go towards the date.

This site is a total Scam DO NOT buy into it or it's commercials.

I have used this on and off for a total of 3 months and met 2 women off this site.
Both didn't work out as one was an hour and half away and We couldn't find a day to meet the other we went on one date and never heard back from her again. So their are actually people on this site but their hidden throughout the 98% of fake profiles. The subscription system is a joke NEVER use your credit card use a prepaid visa as it's almost impossible to cancel your subscription and even if your a day into using it and you don't like it you still won't get your money back. They say that their available 9-5 Monday to Friday which is kind of weird as most people work that time and it's super embarrassing to call but lasts time I cancelled it was relatively easy but don't expect a refund.

But the part that sucks is that they lure you in with emails saying these women have flirted with you and messaged you but as soon as you sign up and reply nobody messages you back and I tried messaging at least 12 women most with filled out profiles none messaged back again some of the profiles I think are old and haven't been deleted as they have no last online date on them. Another thing the messaging system sucks it costs you 5 points to message a person as well as your monthly subscription so when you run out of points for messaging you have to pay again which is I think $25 for 100 more points which is total Waste.

As we'll most of them women I did get a message back said I am too young and I am in my early 20s not sure what the women on this site are looking for as my thought when I think cougar is 40-50 something women looking for 20-30 something man apparently not. They have an unrealistic view of what most of the people whom join want. If you are interested in meeting someone older or younger use a free dating site like olcupid or plentyoffish less BS then this site.

This site is a total fake. I joined and it seemed the people contacting me were bots. Please be careful when paying to join a site such as this because I've found that most are scams. I thought, I would share a site that has 30 something to 60 something year old married and lonely married and bored and just like to flirt with others in that situation and provide support. They NEVER ask for money. It's completely free. I just thought, I would share it with you all because I to have been ripped off by sites such as the one listed because I am a married person looking for friends and support. Anyways...the site is www.flirtsnfriends.com and again...it's FREE.

CougarLife.com is a scam, and they hustle you! So when you consider the price options to sign up, you may notice the "Get a date guaranteed". I saw this, and thought, ok, at 33, I don't know if I want to hook up with a 50 year old, but maybe, and if nothing pans out, I get my money back. I received several spam emails on the site. There were some real ones, but nothing I would want to talk to outside of a polite email reply. Naturally, I put a little time here, and a little time there on each weekend to see what was out there, for the 3 month package I signed up for, until I got bored with the site about a month or so in. Forgetting all about it, I happened to be checking my bank account balance and saw a charge from CL Media, this is CougarLife, automatically renewing your account, and charging you AGAIN! Yes, it is in the fine print, but they get you by putting the guarantee out there, like you can "TRY" it risk free. Now...it gets worse! I click on the button on one of the pages, that says CANCEL SUBSCRIPTION, so this doesn't happen again. The next day, when they are open, I call and say, hey, this JUST renewed yesterday, I don't want this, can we cancel this. NOPE! you are stuck for another 3 months, use it or not. So I say, OK, you got this payment on the fine print technicality. BUT, I never went on a date with anyone from the site, so I want my original money back, per your guarantee. The lady tried to tell me no about everything, so I got a supervisor. When he called back, he did lower my renewal to a one month, instead of the 3 month, so I didn't lose as much money. When I said, yeah, I cancelled the subscription, he said...NO, clicking that button gives you THIS number, you have to tell us you want to cancel the subscription, or its still going to renew in 3 months! Finally, thinking ok, so I only have to get scammed for another month, the subscription is cancelled, now if I just get my money back from the guarantee...I'm not that unhappy. Make the best of a bad situation. So the supervisor tells me, "our site IS guaranteed, just go on the site, and you will find this link here, just fill out this form, and you will be refunded". I get on the link, and above the form are the *conditions for guarantee items. They guarantee you will get a date, if you do stupid things that kids do on myspace, like send little digital gifts...10 each MONTH! and a list of things, short of wearing snow shoes for 2 weeks in the summer...to be eligible for the guarantee. Needless to say, I will not be getting my original money back, and I am paying for another month of this crap. They should have to change their name to DragonLife.com, because there are no 35-40 year old women, they are all 50+. And they should have to disclose the facts more blatantly, similar to the old FreeCreditReport.com, and how they had to start explicitly saying "free credit score requires enrollment in triple advantage", so you would know you were signing up for something. Then you would find out triple advantage is their 15 dollar a month credit monitoring service. Anyway...that's my take on them.

Wtf? A woman of a certain age 40 and up has a seemingly derogatory meaning/word to her "cougar" I find this offensive. How incredibly sexist. Why don't men have a term like this? Like hey mr. Over 40 hummn... Lets see how about dangle sac? Lol it just really bugs me. Myself being 44 in general I think unless a women looks under the age of 35 the men aged 60 and up think they have a shot and our society deems this as perfectly acceptable but when it's a female It's not. It's just not equal someone's gender does not make them better.
If two people are attracted to each other age just simply shouldn't matter unless it would be someone so much younger that it is illegal with which it should be illegal because, in that case it's abuse.

The cougar site terms of service does state that they claim not to refund money back. Although I am going to make an attempt to get my money back. Make sure you read the terms of service because if it states non refundable then they want money so bad. If they want my $40 really bad then they are lucky. The phone number on the billing is wrong so you have to dial 866 number.

Thanks 'Complaints Board'. It has been VERY HELPFUL to me who's never been on Cougar Life but who's contemplating the idea. It seems that the guys only are complaining about being scammed(?) The ladies complain about the guys' behaviors. I can't help seeing patterns through these posts: MAYBE the 'not good looking guys' aren't getting real cougars' responds (fake ones to lure them in). The cougars are complaining that the (cute &) young guys are just after sex ... Well duh!? They are "good looking YOUNG guys" ! Everyone needs a reality-check, and this site has been EXTREMELY helpful.
( I am a cougar, 46, very attractive, used to be an international model, and chased all the time by guys my age but... I-CAN'T-STAND old guys, sorry! So it makes total sens that IF on this site, I would only respond to the handsome, muscle -up guys! Now, I'm just concerned that CougerLife would use my pic to lure in the poor ugly guys WITHOUT my permitting.) Has any signed-up cougar had that happening?

Cougar life is a total waste of money for the average guy. Who happens to be 90% of the members! Women could fu@% a million guys if they are attractive with this site. Problem is 99% of the attractive female profiles are a scam. I just got off the phone with customer service as I discovered I was signed up for automatic renewal. They asked why I wanted to cancel and I told them. They could care less! Total waste of money -- DO NOT JOIN COUGAR LIFE !

The site is clearly rigged, they have a system set up to attract new members. They even say "guaranteed" to get messages from ladies!

How is this promised? Like many mentioned, if you are new, or have an expired membership the drop dead gorgeous lady agents are notified and send you those bogus messages to attract the suckers.

Yes, there are a few "real" cougars on there, but like other say the vast majority work for the house to bring in business to the unsuspecting.

I too would put in my contact info cryptically yet obviously on the profile as I noticed some ladies(that I wasn't attracted to) did as well. Yet whenever I would get my profile checked out by some hot-model-looking cougar, my profile would be edited and then I'd get a flirt/message from them. It became obvious to me, they were working for the site, looked out for the site, etc.

These boys just want sex. They say they want to hang out, but they do not. They say they like older women, but only because they think older women are easier. They all want NSA's, so they can "hit and run". Also, they do not want to take you out on a date, they just want to **** you, then leave. This is a form of prostitution. The only difference is, there is no money echange.

This site is ridiculous. It is a bunch of boys wanting to get laid. They say they want to hang out, but all they want is free sex. They say they are interested in older women, but only because they think they can get it off an older woman easier, and especially they do not have to take an older woman out to get it. The boys think that these women are sitting at home yearning for them, you can tell by what they write in their profile.
This site is a Prostitution site and should be investigated. The only difference is, there is no money being exchanged.
I got off this site in a hurry.

Cougarlife is loaded with fake profiles.. you can find the girls on other sites from other cities.. you will get messages and flirts etc if you are not a paying member... want to test it.. start a profile with no information and no picture.. voila, you get messages. Now what female out there as the person above says needs it badly enough that they will message a guy with no information and no picture? Especially when the women get hounded by guys..

What a scam, lol.. Smart business however, drawing people in and getting them to pay by using an automated system to make them think there is interest.. lol

I joined this site to see what was out there. Its just a bunch of boys wanting free sex that
they cannot get off a girl that is more age appropriate to them. They think these women are desperate for sex. In my case, I am not, which I'm sure others are not either. They just want a pieces of free ###. In most cases, they do not even want to buy you a cup of efn coffee.
I can go to the local bar and get a piece of ###. I love when there profile says " Hey Ladies" as if I am dieing to meet them. Or when they say "I am young and cute, I know you want me"
Please... This site is like free prostitution for them. I recently met a kid on here that wanted experience. Whats up with that. Like I am on here to help him find the love of his life.

The woman on cougarlife.com who are expecting a long term relationship with a cub are just plain delusional. unless HE be in his early 30s 28/30 around that yeah there is a chance. But on reality i doubt that a 25 and below cub would want to spend the rest of their life with a woman who is over 40. they just plainly and openly want to have a short relationship which involves sexual activity. But on a 100 percent hornyness scale, most of the guys who like cougars are very respective of them and don't come of too horny and actually respect what the ladies have to say.

p.s I am a 18 year old Sydney male who likes cougars. email me if your interested

(The following is copy and paste from another user on a different site but his experiences matches mine to a T. Cougarlife.com pays "market researchers" to send fake emails to you to entice you to spend the money and also makes unauthorized auto transactions AND will edit what ever they please from from your profile. They deleted a whole paragraph from mine when I called it a scam)

I recently joined a web site for dating with promises of finding the one. Here is what I really found. Lets explore cougarlife.com shall we? Older women looking for younger guys, or thats what they want you to think. I signed up for a free membership just to check it out, after all they want $87.00 for a 3 momth membership which is non-refundable and automatically renews every three months. With that you get 500 "credits". It takes 5 credits to flirt with someone, 5 credits to message someone and there are a variety of gifts you can send to another member that cost anywhere from 5 to 30 credits. If another "guest" or a person who doesn't have a full membership sends you a message, yep you guessed it, another 5 credits just to read their message. Oh but wait you only have to do that once for the initial contact then all others are free. So I had these 2 very fine ladies sending me "collect" messages. The lived fairly close and were exactly what I was looking for. So like the eager young man that I am, I joined. I know, $87.00 just for a date...maybe. I soon realized I was in a very prestigious club being one of maybe three full blown members. I quickly opened my messages to see what they said and it looked promissing to say the least. I promptly replied back, using my newly acquired credits to get something going and within minutes got replies strangely generic but they both wanted to meet up so I was on my way! So once again I politely inquired for more information, trying to decide which to choose. Then I began to wait... and wait... Meanwhile I was assaulted with a flood of "guests" flirts and messages that were quickly burning through my precious credits. Thats ok because I still had my 2 ladies in the wings waiting for me. Well I never got another reply from them or from anyone else for that matter. I started getting winks again but from women in other states and countries as well. What could they possible want? They wanted me to pay them to see their web cam. I reported them to customer support and they promptly to action. No big deal, lost some more credits Ill just check their location from now on and not open mail from far away "guests". Dating sites always have a little spam right? I realized that you cant delete a messages that you didn't open. When I stopped opening them I stopped getting them. Hmmmm whats going on here. Seems like everyone only contacts me one time and then disappears. Almost everyone is a "guest" with no credits of their own to use. Most never filled out their profile and the rest didn't even have a picture. Everyone with a picture was a little to pretty for their age and there was a lot of 24 year old "cougars" that love to send flirts but only once. They always seemed to have someone else around to take their picture for them. Then I started looking closely at profiles that were filled out, although not a completely as mine. The hair color didn't match, height, body type, eye color, and some of their ages had to be off by as much as 25 years. Hey! These profiles are all fake! Well not all. There were a few very ugly and very old and very fat people to choose from but not many. I started to do a little research to see what was the deal. I checked out the "Terms and Conditions" of cougarlife.com and guess what I found, and I quote:

E. Market Research

From time to time the Service may include, offer, initiate or send flirts, gifts and/or replies from individuals or programs ("Market Research") for market research and/or customer experience and/or quality control and/or compliance purposes. Market Research information is used to provide analysis, feedback, trends, patterns, social commentary and information in the aggregate and aids in the process of monitoring our system for compliance with our operating standards. Any interaction or communication with Market Research is independent of, and separate from, our general database of Member's seeking personal or physical or other kinds of encounters or introductions.

VERY tricky reading huh? Basically what it says is, oh ya, there are some fake profiles on here, but they are strictly for "Market research" you know, to monitor our system. Oh and you wont know which ones they are. Really? So they couldn't possibly be the ones that lured me in here or the ones that have be burning through my credits like a drunken sailor. I asked for my money back several times and they politely told me to go pound salt and then stopped responding at all. So here is what you get at cougarlife.com, you have been warned and tell your friends, hell, tell everyone. In fact I want everyone who has ever been ripped off to copy and paste this sucker anywhere you possibly can. See how many people sign up after this floats around the internet for a while. I warned them ;)

This site is a total scam. Also, look carefully at all the responses to the complaint that praise cougar life; they all more or less say the exact same thing and look to have been written by the same person. In one or two of the posts it looks like the person who was writing them added to what they were saying under a different name. Very shady and poorly thought out, and it's not even remotely a stretch for a company that would send users messages from fake user accounts to have someone go to well-known sites like this one and post BS about how great cougar life is. I actually wandered over to this site from another one, and in the thread on that site there are tons of users who write the same kind of "I'm a cougar/guy looking for a cougar and had great luck with cougar life". I'm hoping that this tactic is as transparent to everyone else as it is to me and that the site goes under soon. They seem to be wasting a ton of money on advertising, so hopefully they won't be able to support themselves for too long. Also, if you see an ad for cougar life on facebook be sure to report it! This site is a total scam and anyone who defends it is automatically suspect.

I suspected problems as soon as it pushed a recurring subscription, but I paid with Paypal and cancelled as soon as it notified me that a recurring payment had been set up. $40 is worth that, IF the website can get people connected, like it's supposed to. Received my first two messages within 24 hours, have responded to both to contact me by e-mail. Like everyone said: lots of profiles with only a single picture, and nothing more.

After signing up, I got access to their "Exclusive VIP content", which is, apparently, about celebrity nude galleries and advertising for, ostensibly, a porn website (worksafe picture attached).

I signed up on the notion that I would date less complicated women. I'm a baggage handler, looking to reverse that role, find my feet again, and make a few good friends in the process.

We will see.

That's pretty disappointing to hear but I might have to agree with everyone. Fortunately I didn't sign up yet, I thought I was naturally accumulating messages from real women and eventually I was planning on signing up to check them all out and go from there.

After reading this I went back and checked: not one of the dozen or so women who sent me a message has ANYTHING written for their profiles. How difficult is it to scribble something in? And most of the subject lines are pretty generic, similar to ones people have mentioned here.

After awhile, it's pretty obvious that no one is even reading my profile before messaging me because after the first couple of messages I made it EXPLICITLY CLEAR that I CANNOT receive messages. I gave my email address and said if anyone wants to chat and get to know one another that they should email me. NO ONE emailed me and I continued to get a couple of new messages each day from different women. That seemed pretty odd to me but I didn't connect the dots until now. I even got a message from a woman saying "great profile". You clearly didn't even read it or you would know I CAN'T respond to you or check your message!

It's really too bad because some of these "women' who messaged me are quite attractive. Too bad it's looking like it's all fake. Glad I stumbled upon this before dropping $40 AND having problems canceling. Maybe I'll check out some of the free options other people have been talking about.

Hmm ... I'm interested in the answer to the same (petew27's) question. I happen to be a 'cougar' - I really hate that word, but what can you do? - looking to connect with a younger man, mostly because the men my age all look about 10-20 years older than I do. (I'm 50.) I came to this site to see if this might be the place to find a partner that could keep up with me (e.g. intellectually and physically), but I'm glad I read the reviews first. I guess I'll keep looking. Thanks!
