Costco rude cashier

My family I just left Costco in Jacksonville, Florida after spending $734 worth of groceries and other house stuff; the cashier was very rude while checking out.

She had a tone to her voice, maybe she had a bad day and ready to leave.

She simply had attitude

- she was telling our kids to stay on the other side in a mean way. She could have been way nicer
- one item was damaged, we asked to replace and she said she'll do later when done and us to wait

We just spent over 700$ and would at least expect some courtesy

This sounds like one negative isolated incident. It also seems like it was all based on tone which is really subjective. If you feel really passionate about it you could talk to a manager, but at most what they could do is talk to her. What kind of resolution are you looking for?

Costco tire center service

I visited the Tire Center in Nashua, NH yesterday 11/14/2017, to get my snow tires put on. As a long time Costco member, I had problems with the service there and need to tell you about it.

I called to get an appointment, and was told that it would be two weeks or more to do that, so I came on a 1st come first serve basis, to get this work done. I understand that I will have to wait for the job to be done, and am ok with that.

The problem I had was that the service person there, only handles one customer call or person at a time. But additionally, you only get served if you stand in line at the counter. With the amount of business there, and especially with my physical problems, this presented many problems and made it very hard on me. I saw that my car was finished and walked back into the tire center to get settled and get my keys. The Service person was working with someone else so I sat down. Then several others came into the center, and calls came in, and before I know it I am about 6 or 7th in line just to get my keys. I have bad back problems where my bones push on my spinal nerves when I stand, so it is very hard for me to stand for more than a few minutes. That is why I had to sit down. The service person never acknowledged that I was there, and was totally focused on one thing at a time. I also really had to sit down, because I had waited about 2 hours in the store and unlike usual, there were no sofas of other comfortable chairs there to sit on--too much Christmas stuff instead I guess.

The net result is that I just can't deal with this poor customer service any more. I guess if I have to pay more to go to a place where they will acknowledge me (and any customer that comes in), then I guess that is what I will have to do. This problem is really bad for me because of my disability, and it is also frustrating that the service person doesn't notice cane and need to sit down and help me. Going elsewhere that costs more is also hard as I can't work and am on a very limited budget.

I don't understand why your service personnel aren't trained to handle things better. Can they really only handle one thing at a time now matter the amount of people that enter the center? Many are there to get new tires which takes 15-30 minutes, while others are just dropping or picking up their car. Why not ask who is there to just pickup their car that the work is finished on? Why not greet people, acknowledge them, ask in general what they are there for? If that can't be done, then why not have a ticket system, like deli departments in the grocery stores, where I can take a ticket and not be ignored because I have to sit down and can't stand in line for 30-45 minutes to get some attention?

I now have 2 sets of tires for my Jeep that I bought there so making a change will take time. I hope you can make some customer service changes. It hasn't always been this bad in the past.

Sincerely,

Stuart Morgan

Costco costco new berlin, wi,

I have a trip coming up so I need my tires replaced. I went to Costco last Thursday, Nov, 9, to make the order.
I was concerned about whether the tires will arrive in time and the associate at the tire center promised me it will arrive in one or two days, top.
I heard nothing on Monday so I called again. A (presumably) different associate at the tire center promised me AGAIN they will be there in time.

After several calls (which no one answer at all), I learned today that the order is not properly made at all and the tires will not arrive before my trip!

My plan is entirely disrupted. I am angry because I called so many times and got nothing but fake promises and empty words.

Hope I dont die on the road due to the tires...

Costco direct tv

You let this company represent you by selling their services in your place of business. Direct tv has increased my bill once for services I did not sign up for 9 months into our agreement. Now the Bill has went up on the 13th month for not adding a at&t service... Which is no where in the contract and was not verbally discussed in anyway or I would not have agreed. There was no possibility of me adding any type of at&t service other than the direct tv. I was on the line for 2 hrs and direct tv could not find this in the contract as well. Worst company I have delt with. Makes me not want to shop at Costco.

Costco seasonal tire change

Booked a week ahead for seasonal tire change drove an our to orillia location as other locations have a 3 to 4 week back log.

Appt was for 1pm got there at 1240pm

Was told i would be called when it was finished.. Was called at 140pm one hour later and told my tires are too old 13 years old ajd 7 years is their tire date policy..

The tires are in good shape minimal cupping and great tread no weather cracking.

They said this is industry standard but when i called around other locations such as walmart tire centre and midas they have never heard of such policy and go by visual inspection.

I was provided a refund but felt as though i have been screwed.

Costco does not have this policy stated anywhere online nor in store i could not find information about this when searching online.

I am not happy and will never use their services again.

Costco tire service

Dear Costco- I will start out by saying that I truly love shopping at Costco and am there usually 2-3 times per week. This afternoon I took my Van in for a tire rotation and balance. I had made an appointment for 1:30. My wait was not long to be waited on and the gentleman told me it would be probably 30-45 minutes since they were not busy. All four bays were empty when I arrived. I went along and did my shopping and had not received a phone call telling me that my vehicle was ready. So I took a seat and waited and waited and waited...At 3:06 PM I finally was back in my car and on my way. Then on my way home, I noticed that a new reminder sticker for my next service was not even placed on my windshield! I think the idea of making appointments online now is fabulous but am VERY disappointed in my experience today and not eager at all to return for any kind of tire service in the future. Thank you for listening.

Costco employees

Nov. 15 2017 around 10:30, I was at Costco Barrhaven in Ottawa located at
4315 Promenade Strandherd Dr, Nepean, ON K2J 6E5.
An employee at the door asked to check my little back pack, I was shocked, I shop at all different costco locations and all other Canadian stores, I was never been told to be checked.Anyways I opened the small backpack with only a cell and wallet to the employee. I saw many people with large bags not get checked.I felt targeted by some kind of discrimination.
I returned back to ask to talk to a supervisor to explain the rule. This time I feel really shame to costco Canada for their inconsistent and changing
explanation of their policy. The supervisor and the employee showed me the sign. The sign read you need to allow inspection. I asked why only myself got checked today, even those with bigger bag not got checked, the supervisor told me they only check backpacks, other bags no matter how big they don't check. This obviously not conform to the policy on sign, was it just because I carried a back pack, even though it's a small one, they checked it and then they changed the definition of their policy just in front of me? I doubt their explanation, funny thing is the employee started to check big bags while the supervisor insist bags other than back pack not need to be checked. I doubt the explanation, they called the manager in,
the manager supported his staff's saying at the beginning, I questioned his
explanation to the policy, it really does not make sense only
back pack need to be cheeked no matter what size it is, any other big bags
no matter how big it does not need to be checked. The manger then changed his point and said the oversize bag need to be checked. But my back pack is a small one, why I got checked, he then said oversized and all back packs need to be checked.I pointed out the bag bigger than my back pack didn't get checked before I came to complain, also, I never saw costco check back packs and big bags before, he then said they have choices who to be checked. I questioned costco employees can do anything as they like. He looked impatient, and apologize he need to communicate and train his staff how to explain the policy. With all these changing explanations, I felt targeted for being Asian look and really do not appreciate it. costco need to put on their sign they check every back pack if they really not care about the bag size but only back packs. Then customers have choice if they like to go to that costco.

Costco membership refund

Hello, about a week ago I went into a Costco and purchased a membership. I went through and soon realized there wasn't the same items and as many organic items as the Seattle Costco has. I recently moved to Kennewick, Wa. I asked for a refund on my membership since you didn't have the options I wanted. Daisy refused to refund because I made purchases that day and because I had returned a membership prior. Let me explain. My mother has a membership and when she visits Seattle we always do a Costco run. I decided to get a membership but she talked me out of it cause she had one but when we moved to Kennewick I decided I didn't want to always depend on my mom to go to Costco but after I went around I realized it's not worth my money since there wasn't as many organic options as the Seattle facility. So Daisy decided to take it upon herself to refuse my refund telling me cause I bought items that day. When I returned my first membership I told them I felt bad cause I just got it and they said not to worry it's their policy to refund at any time as well as they said they get a lot of people who just decide it didn't suite their needs. I went back and someone else was very nice and returned my membership. I want to know why daisy decided to refuse to return my membership purchase ? Does she work off commissions, is she discriminating against me cause I'm not white, cause I had a prior membership return and so she's accusing me of something else?... it doesn't sit well with me. I don't like being lied to and treated differently. I would like someone to ask her why she didn't want to refund my membership. It really bothers me. Please email me at [protected]@enso.xyz

Any commissions they would make would only be regarding opening the memberships, not refunding them. I haven't worked at Costco, but I do believe that while they have goals, they don't make a commission. I would definitely refrain from suggesting discrimination, as you have no evidence of this. For information in regards to why your refund was denied, you may want to call the store or their customer service directly.

Finally, you should take some responsibility here. You had purchased and returned a membership before, and this time you also did not do any research as to if the membership was right for you. Make sure to be as polite as possible to the staff.

Costco - difficulty dealing with costco concierge service

Struggling to inform anyone at Costco re my experience with the 'Costco Concierge Service'. My 55" Samsung TV purchased Jan 2016 began to display a ‘Red Screen' around mid summer 2017. There doesn't appear to be anyone person you can hook-up with that will be responsible for having your electronic purchase repaired. The 2 year Costco Concierge Service just...

Costco employee

On Nov 13, 2017 at 3-5pm MST in 149 St., Edmonton I entered thru the exit door to use the washroom before I start shopping (I still used entrance door to shop). The woman employee asked for my ID, when she didn't ask for other people's ID entering thru that door, was it because I was a person of a certain race? Cause I was the only one who entered at the time who is not Caucasian.

Costco employee attitude

On Monday, November 13 at around 6:30pm I had paid for my goods at Costco and headed towards the exit/inspection area where they match the receipts with the goods purchased. In front of me was a Costco employee who was off his shift and also heading out. As I neared the exit the Costco inspector looked at me and asked for me receipt so I headed towards her and the Costco employee was left behind me and he grumbled loudly at me. I wasn't sure what he said so I looked at him and asked "What's the problem", he said "you cut in front of me". I thought employees just walk out so I said "Aren't you a Costco employee?" and he said "It doesn't matter, you cut me". And I said "but I'm a Costco customer and I was asked to go this way to check out". He said "Doesn't matter, you cut me". I told him "It does matter that I am a Costco employee" and he repeated "It doesn't matter." Seems to me that that type of attitude is growing within Costco. I've had numerous other issues when dealing with Costco employees in the Returns section, Meat section, Checkout section. I'm now favoring Sam's Club Wholesale and spreading the word that the customer service at Costco STINKS! and is getting worse. Costco doesn't matter and I don't care for Costco. I now get better service and prices at Walmart!

Costco broken appointment tire service

On November 8 2017 I came looking for a set of 4 tires. A sale for bridgestone was beginning the next day.
They were not doing appoointments for the (next day or Friday) 9th or 10th due to the sale. He said it was first come first serve. He also said there were 8 in my size available. (Not many left) .

I decided to book an appointment for Monday the 13th of November at 12pm.
I came in on Friday November 10th to pay for them and to make sure they were in stock and ready for Monday. I am here now for my appointment and they find my information and ticket where I paid but no appointment in the system. I love to shop at costco/tires and I am aware he was very busy the day I came in but I am very upset that I now have a 2.5 hour wait.
He said he will try to work me in but could care less that I had an appointment already for today. I explained to him why would I pay for tires and not make an appointment and he responded "if you did have an appointment would be in the system... do you still want to do them today?" A little more empathy would go a long way in customer service as I have many years in stressful/ busy sitiuations at my own job.

Costco rude behavior

To whom it may concern,
On a Sunday evening my parents and I went in to our local Costco and had an unfortunate experience with one of the employees. When we were approaching the checkout my dad went ahead and put some of the smaller items on the desk because there was not any other employee helping the cashier. We didn't mind because we thought maybe they had a quick emergency or some reason. After we finished loading some of our items on our desk we left a few items on the cart that we thought were bulky or were not allowed on the desk. Spontaneously a gal named Silo or something similar approached our line and immediately grabbed a glass item and slammed it extremely hard on the desk that it caught the attention of several of the surrounding people. We thought it was an accident but instead of the gal apologizing the gal continued to grab items from our cart and carelessly threw them on the desk. My dad was worried she had damaged the glass items, as he grabbed it to inspect that it wasn't broken the gal gave an unpleasant expression to my dad. To make things worse there was a line behind us and instead of helping the next customer she began using her phone as everyone watched. As the cashier began checking out our items the gal went on to throw and recklessly place the items back on our cart. The cashier fortunately was in positive mood and apologized. We thanked him and left. I understand that sometimes we have bad days that can throw us off but I do believe that an employee should not have that kind of attitude. If someone is having day as bad that you are slamming product than they are better off staying home. I wish that a management member could speak with their employees, as holiday season is approaching it is only going to get worse. We will continue to shop here because we wont judge every employee based off of one bad experience.

Costco food court service today

At 11:03am today I was told by phone from a Lakewood Food Court employee to place my order by phone (for 4 pizzas) approx 20mins proir to pick up. At 3:23pm today, 11-12-17, I did exactly so. I went to the Lakewood Food court, waited in a substantially long line, then, told the cashier, Tristen, I was there to pay for a phone order& pick up. I paid. After the transaction, I awaited the pizzas to be handed to me through Tristen's cashier window; as the process has been for the past 7 years I have been placing orders like these! (Both IN store at check-out, as well as by phone at home to pick up!) Tristen instructed I" go to the side pick-up window with everyone else". I did. When I saw the line of at least 10 people, I went to the side window clerk. After waiting at least 2-3mins for an employee to acknowledge me (and the other ladies in line) a Caucasian female, manager, in a hair net holding a clip board, instructed staff to get to the window. Ali helped the females aside from me. When I spoke up, handed my receipt &explained that I called in a 4 pizza order 30 mins ago, he told me to "go to the end of the line & wait with the rest". I went back to the payment counter, to a different cashier, Ricky. I explained I just needed "my already made order by phone & PAID FOR pizzas for a party that's starting NOW!" He looked at the receipt, asked my name, pointed to my pizzas on the shelf &told me my cheese pizza wasn't ready! 37 minutes now, and it took that long to make & then inform me? There were at least 10 employess running around back there & I was avoided by 8! Including that blonde female manager in a hair net wearing glasses. Finally, back to the END of the side window line I went, received my 3 pizzas, waited for the NEW cheese to be taken from oven as the cook hollared they used MY phone order pizza for the "open spinner oven" to serve per slice to customers. Ricky handed me the 4 pizzas, 5 packets of parmesan cheese, approx 6 plates (then I had to ask for at least 6 more considering I was feeding a party 20, hence the 4 pizzas!) Needless to say, I was over 20 mins late to my husband's party I was hosting. Guests already sitting on my couch since 4:10p. I had to apologize profusely! I told everyone I had called in the order (as usual)over an hour ago & pizzas were to be ready before 4pm! We live within 2 miles of Lakewood Costco. We shop there weekly. I do not plan to go back to food court EVER again. Disappointed ro say the least.

Costco costco tire center - louisville, co

Hi - I am a 57 year old male and I believe this is the first time that I have filed a complaint such as this.
1. On 10-22-17 my daughter experienced a blowout of a tire on our 2012 Prius while visiting her sister in Moab, Utah. There are no Costco's in a reasonable distance from that area. I told her to replace it with an inexpensive tire (she did) and to bring back the damaged tire (she did not). I have attached the service order from Walmart which shows the "road hazard replacement ."
While replacing the tire they also noticed that a "bubble " was present on another tire.
2. Today, 11-11-17 I went to my local Costco, where I purchased the tires, and where, over the years, have spent thousands of dollars, to remedy my recent bad luck with tires. I was able to get a replacement($48 for a $114 tire due to limited tire use) for the tire with the "bubble " but was told the other tire, the "blowout " could not get the same deal because I did not have the tire with me.
3. I feel this is unfair. I cannot think of a scenario in which I could possibly be seen to be taking advantage of this situation. Why would I replace a $113 tire with a $47 tire(see attached Walmart service order) in Grand Junction, CO.
We live in Louisville, CO which is in the Denver/Boulder area.
4. I just want to pay the same $48 dollars to take the new, cheap, Walmart tire off the car and replace it with the same tire that I previously had on the car. See attached Costco invoice.

Wouldn't one normally place the spare tire on the car, taking the damaged tire back to the retailer?

Costco your employee

Thanksgiving is around the corner. I'm a college student and my mom loves cooking for when I come home. Unfortunately for my mom, she's disabled so cooking and being on her feet all day takes a big toll on her health. Today, she asked me to go to Costco for her using her Costco card for mashed potatoes and gravy. I went to Costco, spent an hour walking around and getting what I want. However, when I got to the front of the line, one of your employees told me she could not sell me mashed potatoes and gravy because my mother had to be present. I explained that I was here for my mom because she PHYSICALLY CANNOT COME INTO YOUR STORE, and she passive aggressively told me "You're more than welcome to sign up for a card for $60 a year." I told her no, I am a college student, I cannot afford a Costco card, and I am only here for my mother who has been a loyal cardholder since 2001. However, your extremely disrespectful employee proceeded to passively tell me the same ignorant sentence "You're more than welcome to sign up for a Costco card for $60 a year." Then she told me she was calling her supervisor. I left my groceries on the counter and left your facility crying. I understand that you have to be a cardholder to purchase food, but what's the problem when I had my mother's Costco card and her debit card? The disrespect from your employee was immense, and now I never want to become a cardholder myself. Thank you, for denying my disabled mother her mashed potatoes and gravy for this Thanksgiving. I do not tolerate employees who have no sympathy for a disabled loyal customer, who proceeded to treat me with upmost disrespect. No amount of samples could replace ruining my families Thanksgiving.

Hi Cara.

I appreciate your level of frustration. The Costco card is only half the problem. The bigger half of the problem is using your mom's debit card. Even though you may feel okay in doing so, knowing that your mom has gave her permission, there is no guarantee that the purchase isn't fraudulent. Without an authorized signature for the transaction, the amount can be reversed.

With respect, how does your mom use her Costco card when you're not around? If she actually is unable to leave her home, 'coming into their store', she may just want to get a card for you only to use and have her's lapse. Then whenever you visit you can use it and even when you're away to college. In addition, if she'll get your name added to her banking account(s), she can get you a debit card that you'll be able to use as needed.

I really do hope this helps.

Costco exit / entrance employee service

On Saturday November 11, 2017 around 11:40am,
My family and I decided to shop at Costco to stop for a quick meal and last minute shopping items.
Given that we live in Visalia, we still decide to spend our time at another Costco wholesale instead of a Walmart or other traditional
Grocery stores.
Unfortunately, today was the very first negative and humiliating encounter we have ever experienced at our beloved Costco wholesale. As my husband and I split, I took my children through the food court area, and my husband went to go shop.
An employee named Juan, stopped engaging with the customer he was checking out and yelled at us across several customers by saying, "Excuse me! Excuse me! You are not to enter through here. Do you have a membership!?" He screamed at us so loud the customers even stood silent for a bit. It startled everyone who can hear him yell with such disrespect.
Customers stopped what they were doing, and had a look of shock.
We respectfully complied and answered his questions.
We told him we do have a membership, but we are only attending the food court at this moment.
For Costco, I am fully aware that one is not required to have a membership to buy from the food court, additionally there is no sign that implies otherwise.
After we followed Juan's demands by entering through the entrance, he still continues to yell at us from a good 7 feet distance, abandons his customers and his position area just to continue shouting at us to another employee named Christian, "those ladies don't have a membership!" As Christian approached us and asked to see our membership, we gladly showed him our membership card and kindly ask his employee to act professional as he shouldn't have humiliated us as he did.
After Christian verifies our memerbship, we proceeded to walk through the exit to get to the food court and made sure to show Juan my membership card and he told me "I'm happy now".
I've been a loyal customer for many years and I am deeply disappointed in these actions that took place in Merced, CA. Not only did Juan give my family horrible unprofessional attitude, leave his current position, ignore his customers to yell at us, but he also back talked to me and my family of 9.

This is the very first time we have ever, encountered such a disgraceful, negative and humiliating experience. Never would we have thought our dignity and loyalty to Costco would be taken in the hands of such rude employees such as Juan and Christian.

My family spends thousands of dollars at Costco, always recommend Costco to everyone and have such desire to only spend at Costco because of its amazing experiences we always leave with.

Thank you, we hope our complaint has been taken into the hands of someone who will take professional measures, as Costco employees have proven they are capable of that for several years now, except Juan and Christian.

Costco editorial comment in magazine

Love shopping Costco but disagree with allowing Scott Kelly, the astronaut, to utilize the magazine to promote himself and his personal views. His gun control advocacy has converted him into a controversial figure and Costco should not be using its communications to lend hm credibility. He utilized his "hero"status to promote his personal political views. Unacceptable!

They are a private company and have the right to be associated with whoever they want. They may have contracts in place that they cannot void. You have the equal right to shop elsewhere.

Costco management decision

I have been a happy Costco customer for many years. I used your Tukwila store when it was brand new. I've been a fan! This morning I read something that shocked me. After reading the following, I find that it has changed my whole view of Costco. A reputation takes YEARS to build, and only a second to lose.

$19.4 million: The amount Costco was forced to pay to Tiffany & Co in August for illegally selling counterfeit diamond engagement rings bearing the "Tiffany" name.

Management, what were you thinking?!?
