In Sept of 2006, we legally contracted with Costa Rica Limited to purchase a home in Esterillos, Costa Rica. We made 3 payments totalling approximately $94, 000 before the house was started per the contract. Our home construction was to begin in January 2007, then July 2007. Costa Rica Limited never built our home due to issues with the lot size, ie. they promised us a home that would not fit on the lot we purchased. The owners promised our money refunded.
They have sold our lot to another person and have built a house on it. We have not received but a very small amount of our money back and it is now April 2009. We have attempted through legal sources to obtain our money but have been unsuccessful. These people are crooks, run as far away from them as you can. They have no intention of returning our hard earned money!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Robert Walter Barras and Jeffery McMullin have defrauded over 50 people in the past 6 years in a PONZI type scheme they run through their unregistered company costaricaltd. They are currently offering homes for sale in a community called The Hills or Esterillos in Costa Rica of which they have no legal right to represent. They often sell the same house two or three times and never build it. Bob Barras is currently living in Houston Texas and is using a wesite www.costaricaltd.com and an email address costaricaltd@gmail.com. They often use international wire transfers to receive funds. If you have been defrauded by or approached by these two contact your local authorities.
now how in the world does this motivate us to refund any monies? per contract, there are no refunds. crltd has tried to send money when possible. in the case of lori anderson, we traded a lot walued at $75, 000 and over $20, 000 usd to compensate for what was a mistake by the surveyor.

I too invested in a home from the same Costa Rica ltd, Robert Barra and Jeff McMullin. in the Gardens of the Pacific location. I was also duped. They agrred to let me out of my contract and refund my funds. MThe home i was invested in has now sold twice. To this day I have recovered inly $1, 500. They still owe me $30, 500. RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN FROM THESE GUYS!
