I am ticked off at plastic surgeon Dr John Chois. His staff is extremely phony and rude. I waited more than 3 hours to be seen for a consultation. The doctor obviously doesn't care about his patients, all he sees is dollar signs and cares only for himself. He is always running way behind schedule, and his staff is very snobby. It is like a factory of surgeries. They do like 8 to 10 cases a day. I think the patients are at risk of infection, and botched jobs.

I was considering going to Dr Chois. I got his name and number from someone that went to him and was very happy with her results. Thankfully I am the type of person that likes to do my own research. I came across this website. Naturally there will always be people that are dissatisfied with a doctor for one reason or another but what I found odd was the responses from “office staff”. Usually if someone responses to an accusation they are apologetic and try to work through the problem with the client as opposed to attacking and being on the defensive. So I decided to post what I found. I would like to say thank you to those who took the time to write about what they know about this doctor. Your input has helped me tremendously in my research to find a qualified surgeon. Now I do not know if the doctor was using drugs but the allegations against him seemed valid enough for the Florida Dept of Health and DEA to take action against him. I have provided 2 links to official Health Department and DEA websites for those interested in doing their research to find the truth about the allegations made on this website. I hope this information helps you as it did me.

I just had surgery with Dr Chois and am thrilled with my results and treatment by him and his staff. My sister in law used him as well and couldn't be happier with your new breasts. Please believe that you are in good hands and he is the #1 surgeon in Orlando!

I work with Dr Chois for 3 years.
He does not have a substance problem.
I understand haters and false alegations (they sign up only to post this as they have no other posts).

I know for a fact that Dr.Chois has a cocaine addiction and he shouldn't be doing surgery unless he gets his life together .

Dude his medical license was SUSPENDED due to the fact that he was giving patients medications he was not approved too. Including putting patients under general anesthesia NOT twilight like stated. His office manager and brother Jim Chois is an attorney and left his office Dec 2010 so before you go off and say what you THINK you know. Bite your tongue. He also was ordered to provide a hair sample for substance abuse testing which he failed to do, and was told he would need to be treated as an inpatient at a substance abuse center for medical professionals. This doctor has so much trouble because he is too busy putting his $ up his nose.

Dr chois is an amazing Doctor! He has really made a difference in my life and how I feel about myself. He always takes his time to talk to me, I view him as a wonderful friend. No other surgeon would have been able to fix my breasts like he did, he is an artist!

I have worked for Dr Chois for 5 years and I never met you.
But I have heard of you beyed girl; how you lied to get your job and why you were fired before review period.
You state so many mistruths.
I have never met his brother who you claim runs the office.
No messages or numbers were thrown away.
There are plenty of reviews.
I have witness him perform free surgeries for domestic violence and congenial defects.
He is one of the most humble and compassionate doctors I have worked with.
For you to make accusations more than 7 years later, I withhold my opinions about your life.

God help anyone that goes to this doctor. I used to work for him and ended up quitting because of the things I used to witness in that office. Too many to go into but let's just say I was told by him repeatedly that us in the office should treat the new upcoming patients differently than the old ones. Reason being we have already made our money off of the old ones. So when post op patients called complaining they had medical problems after surgery I was told to take their number and tell them they would be getting a call back. At the end of the day the numbers would get thrown away. This is just one out of a hundred things I was told. Dr Choi's brother is a lawyer and works in the same building. He works for the doctor full time. He covers up anything negative about the doctor. It's weird how long he has been a plastic surgeon and you can't even find that many reviews on him. Thank his brother for that. He has also had patients die after surgery bc of complications. The lawsuits were on the internet but that was also removed. If you really want to find out about a doctors credibility and what kind of doctor he is you should ask his staff. People that know him behind closed doors. There are wonderful caring doctors out there that have compassion for people and want to help. I know many. Unfortunately he is more concerned with driving his lamborginis. Someone should inform him that money isn't the answer and that everyone's day will come. He doesn't deserve to be called a doctor.

Dr. Chois is a true artist, almost a magician. Just had my face and eyes done by him and still healing.
I am a very experienced Registered Nurse and Dr. Chois came highly recommended from a colleague who had not only had her eyes done but also scrubbed in on surgery with him. He is not a conventional surgeon and his personality can be taken the wrong way. I view him as very modest and intellectual but if you do not have a lot of experience with surgeons, especially plastic surgeons, you might have a different view. If you are disappointed, ask yourself if there is something in your experience or expectations that might be at the root. I do not know him personally, but I do recognize true talent and artistry. Facial surgery can be difficult. Not to say BA is a walk in the park, but a surgeon who can do successful work with facial surgery has to have a higher level of talent.
I consulted two other highly recommended surgeons in Tampa where I live and by far Dr. Chois and his staff, even to the receptionist, just blew me away with their professionalism and care to my needs.
Lastly, he looks at you holistically and recommends different alternative care that some of my nurse practitioner friends were amazed by! Surgeons generally are not like that.
The one drawback for a lot of his patients is he runs late. He spends so much time with each person and their family, he never looks at his watch or the time. This is just how he is, and for me, a very punctual person, I could overlook because of the work he does.
I cannot recommend he and his entire staff highly enough. Even his anesthesiologist gave me a very careful lecture about how much wine is "healthy"a day. Love this doctor's talent!

Dr. Chois is a talented surgeon. I have been a regular patient of his for 5 years and have had breast implants, tummy tuck, liposuction and most recent a facelift. Throughout the past several years I have been extremely happy with the results of my surgery and the treatment of Dr. Chois. Before you think he was only nice because of money, think again, each surgery I have had by him, he has given me a discount! The wait time in his office is resonable for a successful doctor! He has several patients to see because clearly he is worth seeing and everyone wants to consult with him! It's also very silly that someone would try to say a DO is less qualified than a MD. That clearly shows ignorance on the matter and insults thousand of intelligent and skilled doctors throught the world. I have always enjoyed visiting him and his staff. He has hired some new staff and they are sincere and very polite. Lastly, I highly recommend him. Visit him for yourself and you will see it for yourself!

I am not critizing the work that Dr. Chois does, however I do have several concerns. Firstly, I noticed that he always uses DR. before his name and not M.D. after his name. So I researched a little further and found out that Dr. Chois is a D.O. I have no qualms with him being a D.O. however, I feel that he misrepresented himself. Also, on several of his paperwork I noticed that he signed his name with an "s" at the end and others he signed as CHOI. When I asked his staff to explain this, they said it was some "language" difference. Again, that made me a little concerned. However, the biggest problem I had was the fact that I drove 4 hours to have surgery with Dr. Chois and called one hour prior to getting there to find out if he was going to be on time. I was told that by his office manager that he was running ON TIME. When I arrived I was asked to wait. After 1 1/2 hours of waiting I asked about his schedule and was told that he had an emergency and was running a little late. The office person told me to go to the "mall and waste time." So about 1 1/2 hours latter I returned only to be told that I needed to wait another 2 hours. No one should be this late in their scheduling of appointments. When the nurse finally came in she informed me that if I would come back tomorrow, she would take off $100.00 from my bill. This was absurd. Dr. Chois was very pleasant when I met him and had my initial appointment, he also seemed very knowledgable. He is a very accomplished artist (he had several beautiful painting by him on the walls of his office). However, this lack of professionalism by his staff and him personally is intolerable. I asked, and was given my money back. In the future I will choose a physician who gives me his credentials properly, gives me an appointment in a reasonable time and tries to have a staff that is cooperative, caring and honest.

I have seen Dr. Chois on more then one occasion and I have been 100% happy and satisfied with him, his work, and his staff. They are both friendly and professional. Dr. Chois has to be the most caring Doctor I have ever seen. His attention to detail, work performance and patient care is next to none. Sometimes, he is a little busy due to the fact that he has many patients because he does such good work and offers free consultations.

The person who wrote the above compliant is obviously someone who asked out the Dr. and was rejected out of professionalism or an ex. Cudos to the Dr. for rejecting such a skank.
