For any and all looking to buy tires made by Cooper, buyer beware! The warranty department at Cooper Tire and Rubber Company is a joke and possibly a fraud. On August 17th, 2010, a Cooper Lifeliner GLS tire created a significant vehicle pull after being used for only 5, 703 miles. The tires were installed new on a 1998 Ford Taurus at a local dealership. The tire pull was verified and diagnosed at the installing dealership and an independent tire shop. A new tire had to be purchased FIRST, then the defective tire sent in for a warranty claim. I was told 4 to 6 weeks is the normal warranty period to process a claim. Well, it is now November 23rd, 2010 (over 3 months!), and not a word from Cooper Tires, and there are other claims that were submitted before my tire failure that also have not been processed. I have never been treated so poorly by a tire company, and for years I have been loyal to Cooper tires, but from now on I will NEVER, EVER buy a Cooper tire again. Their warranty department sucks!

We bought Copper tires Discover H/T, 10 ply. Advertised to have a 40, 000 mile treadwear warranty. We have 12, 000 miles on these tires and they are wore out. Copper will not stand behind their warranty. Gave all kinds of excuses not the proper tire for our truck. Its the tire that was recomended. Not proper tire pressure, had what was recomended. This is a 10 ply truck tire on a Chev. 3/4 ton truck. We pull a 5 th wheele trailer. The tire (Bridgestone) we took off had 45, 000 miles on them and had more tread than these with 12, 000 miles. We pulled the same trailer with these tire and had lots better service. We thought cooper were good tires and a good company, we were wrong.WE WILL NEVER BUY COOPER TIRES AGAIN!

We purchased four (4) brand new Cooper Automobile tires but after 15, 000 they each developed a massive area that went down to the metal. We were so lucky that no one was hurt or even killed.

We returned them to the Cooper Dealer and they refused to replace or address the warranty, stating that they did not make those tires anymore. We have written and called the Cooper Corporate office for the past ten (10) months with no reply or referred us back to the dealer who referred us directly back to Cooper:

I'd like to add to the numerous complaints about the service of cooper representatives- call center "tire experts", working on the "phone" as well as the way they handle life threatening tire issues:

I have a pre-owned vehical purchased last year 2006 model which came with Cooper Tires Discoverer H/T P265/ 75R16. While driving my family on the highway, my trending peeled off my tire and damaged my entire passenger corner panel. There was no blow-out, as my tire retained air, but we almost lost control of our SUV.

I proceeded to take my Cooper tire to a dealer in my city and he identified that the tredding on my tire was great, though the peeling away from the tire itself was not only unusual, but something he had NEVER seen in all his years working in a tire shop 15+ years. He advise I call to process a claim and report the issue, to possibly initiate a recall of some sort.

I called Pam at the claims customer service number, and was told; because I was not the original purchaser of the tire, she outlined she could not process a claim, which I understood in reference to a warranty, but she also said that it is NOT Coopers fault that my tire fell apart. She said that the company would not be held accountable for their tire falling apart while I was driving my family, simply because I was not the original purchaser of the tire. I shared what the true tire expert had communicated (the Cooper Dealer in my city) and she disagreed.

She was rude, careless, heartless and could not be bothered by my family's danger by using their tire. She said I could buy other tires and gave me a generic address to write to her boss; Bill Geaman (who of course ONLY takes written corespondents)

Bill Geaman address:
701 Lima Ave.
Fendly, Ohio 45840

The bottom line is that unless you are the original purchaser of their product, they will not stand behind it. Once the original owner sells the car, it is no longer COOPERS issue or responsibility. Again I was not complaining about some simple tire blow out, my tire's tredding peeled away from my tire, exposing ALL the metal fibers within the tredding.

I am limited to what I can do, but if you are having issues with their tires, know that their tires fall apart and your family can be killed and they DO KNOW ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND THEY DO NOT CARE.
