This company calls me on my job no fewer than 6 times a day. Currently I owe for last months payment and this month's payment goes past due on Friday. I will pay these people. In the meantime, although they have an alternate number for me, they call me at work. I work in a call center and can not make outgoing phone calls unless I am on a break. The call and leave me multiple messages and if I don't call back soon enough they call my co workers (our number are in numerical order by desk). I have some people coming to my desk that don't even know me to tell me that my bill collectors are calling about my car or they have asked my bill collectors to stop calling and they won't. This is unbelievable. I don't care much to talk to them because they say things like what is more important to you eating or driving to work? They have threatened to come to my job and take the car and then how will I get home. That is really unprofessional for someone to say. They need to be stopped. I have asked repeatedly that they stop calling but they wont.

i just had that issue today. i made a payment on my bank account using bill pay since cps charges you $12 to make the car payment. and i guess the bank never sent the funds but its still showing paid by my bank. now i get a phone call telling me i better borrow the money from someone or forfiet the car. i told them i am out of town and i can make a double payment in 1 week guaranteed. the guy asked me for the address to the city i was visiting cuz he wanted to come get the car. i told him i would be stranded if the came and got the car from where i was and he said he didnt care. he also hung up on me three times and interreted me telling me to shut up and listen to him. i ask to speak to a supervisor 7 times and he refused. this is the first problem i have had in two years as far as a messed up payment and they wont give me 7 days to pay the past due amount and the current amount off. they told me if the reposses it it will cost me almost 1200 dollars when i only owe them 355. hows that for customer service.

I have dealt with CPS for the past 5 years for a car note. They are rude and call upwards of six times a day. You need to record the phone calls and tell them you are recording them. According to the Fair Credit Act they cannot call you at work if you cant take phone calls or it interferes with your job. You MUST send a registered letter to them stating so and get a return receipt showing when it was signed for. The collectors also claim that they are an attorney for CPS and try to use that as a scare tactic... threatening to repo your car, suing you or Garnishing your wages on your next paycheck is also illegal. These collectors for CPS are in fact the ### of the earth do not let them get away with anything. Do yourself a favor and READ the laws of fair debt collection practices and do not let the ### get away with it... and dont be afraid to sue them if you can prove violations of the law. It pays quite nicely. Again read the laws and arm yourselves this company has no scruples. If your thinking on financing thru them DONT.

Well, if you think you have it bad, I recently graduated from college. I was in the process of looking for a job under my profession, and was out of work for a short time. I found a job with a temp agency and while I was at work, one of CPS Representatives called my home and told my fourteen year old daughter, that they was trying to contact me about gainful employment, and my daughter gave them my number where I was temporarily working. The company on a permanent basis later hired me and CPS left messages all over the place. I requested several times for them to stop calling me at work but they still continue. I am now 33 days past due and they are calling me saying their coming to pick up my car, can you afford to pay for it. One representative went as far as telling me, I knew cars cost money and if I didn’t want to pay for it, I shouldn’t have gotten the car. I even went as far as telling them when I bought the car not even 3 weeks later, I had to take the car back for repairs that was totaling over 1200.00 and I think the car was a lemon. The rep simply said you bought that problem. They are extremely rude, and disrespectful to customers. With all of our complaints we should think about a class action lawsuit against them for harassment.

they are rediculous! i went thru a divorce as well and was trying to make ends meet and had paid 2/3 of my payment one month and they called and told me i was a dead beat! then when i asked to speak to a supervisor she hung up on me! just recently i thought i had finally gotten it caught up and paid 1 1/2 payments and then they were still calling me and told me i had missed a payment last march and still owed half of it! i told him i find it very hard to believe that i missed a payment and i'm just now finding out about since they call when i owe $50! he then proceeded to tell me "fine don't make the payment and when your car gets repoed i'm sure i'll be the first one to get the file and we'll see how i work with you!" and hung up on me! and when that first lady hung up on me a while ago i called back and apparently they have caller id cause she goes "are you ready to pay up now?" i had to search and dig and find the number to my account manager that i had been dealing with and the mgr's are always very nice and say they will take care of the other person but i don't believe anything is ever done! i'm in total agreeance, they need to be stopped! i told them i wanted an accounting ledger since the beginning of my loan and they said they would send that and then i said i wanted a transcript of every time i call since it states that they record the calls and they said no, that i would have to get a lawyer! i said ok that can be arranged i have seen several tv ads for lawyers taking cases of harrassing debt collectors and illegal debt collectors for no money up front and he said "good luck with that" and laughed!

First of all...Your car mechanical problems are not CPS fault..Were they there when you hand picked your car..You did not have all that cash to pay for a car...you needed financing..They paid it so you could drive off in your new car...pay the people their money...when im late i call them and they wait when they shouldnt have to...we the borrowers are at fault not the finance company..Grow Up.

YOU WORK FOR CPS? Even if i'm a lazy irresponsible loser. I am protected by collection laws.

I love the people who post negative "pay your bills and you won't have problems" comments to these. I am researching this company for other ILLEGAL practices they commit and I do not owe them any money. That being said this is a crooked company. Nobody enters into a contract, especially for a car most of us need to get to work to pay the loan, with the intention of not making good on the contract. If you don't have a job or loose your job through no fault of your own then what the hell are these poor people supposed to do, not feed their kids, default on a mortgage to keep current on a car, this rationalization makes no sense. And to think that you are here supporting the company (I am assuming here that you all work for this company and are making a sad little attempt to save face) that is breaking a law. HEAR THAT, WHAT THESE PEOPLE ARE DOING IS AGAINST THE LAW! Granted not fulfilling a contract is too but consumers need to be protected from companies with poor business ethics like this and that's why the Fair Debt Collections Act exists. Check it out, google it, it's a real law and this company is in clear violation. I wish I could help more. One person or a thousand people going through a hard time does not and will never make this type of behavior okay. Just so people with loans from this company that are getting harassed know, there are lawyers out there that can help you.

I owe four payments on my car and will be done with CPS! Thank You LORD! We have held the note with them since mid 2005. I was 13 days late on my payment and they threatened repossession if they didn't receive a payment that day. I explained to them that I would call back on Friday of that week, but was unable to make a payment on that particular day. The rep became very ignorant with me and told me I was upset because he was being truthful. lol. Still don't know what that meant, but whatever. Later that evening, I received a phone call and voicemail from "Tom's Towing Co." lol. It was a private number. They said they were coming to pick up the car that evening. They will use any scare tactic possible. They are ruthless. Needless to say, they got the money on Friday as I had mentioned in our phone conversation. Also, be careful setting up payments with one of their reps. I set up TWO consecutive payments. They took out the payments as scheduled and then randomly took out a third payment. Luckily, the money was there and it didn't throw my account into arrears. If setting up a payment by phone always use Western Union or send check or money order!

I totally agree, this is the worst company ever when it comes to customer service! The supervisor Stephanie talks to like a child and degrades you! I'm going to complain about this company wherever I can. I've already written the BBB on them. They need to be investigated for fraud!

Yes. They are really something. They begin calling me the Day after my payment is due if I'm late. They call work, home, and cell phones 3-4 times per day. If you don't answer then they do not leave a message... they just keep calling. Interesting.

I too have had the same exact problem with this company. I have come to the conclusion that this is a govt owned company. Because they break every law that can be broken and they are still in business, it leads me to believe that the govt set up this company to give the poorest of poor and those that struggle the most to pay their debts for whatever reason, a loan to get a car so they can continue to work. A person with a car is much more likely to be responsible then someone who doesn't have a car. If it wasn't a govt owned company there is no way they wouldn't have been sued. I would like to start a civil law suit. I would like to get everyone that has had any kind of bad experience with this company an opportunity to take part in this law suit. This company went into my daughters checking account a second month in a row, and took payment, even though they were told several times that they could only take one months payment. The lady then said to my daughter we will be taking next months payment as well. My daughter said no, they didn't have her permission to go in there any other time but the payment she was calling for. They went ahead and stole the money out of her account the next month without any kind of contact or permission. I too have suffered all the same phone harassment as well as having all my family members being told that they were coming to repo my car. Again, I will be shopping for an attorney and filing a class action law suit. If the govt is behind this, it needs to be exposed, if this is an American company doing business in America, then they need to abide by the laws in America and calling and threatening and stealing money from our accounts is not the way we do business in a law abiding country. wow...i cannot believe this...although it is a shame all these people are having problems, I am relived to know that I am not the only one.

Today I am mailing out a written letter to them about their behavior. Not only do they call me at work when I have notified them not to, they also pretend they are a reposseion company and they pretend like they are coming to get my car...all this for a payment less than 30 days past due!

I cannot tell you how many harrassing mean phone calls I have received. I just dont answer anymore because all they do is bully you. One time they brought me to tears!

If they do not stop after my letter then I will be taking legal action against them.

I have had a loan with CPS for 4 yrs. and like the rest of ya'll i fell behind 1 pmyt. I had a job for 10 yrs. but lost it in Feb. 09 and my husband lost his in May 09. we were making good money not alot but enough to where we were okay with the bills . we are collecting unemployment but it's not enough. we used to bring home 4810.00 a month, now we get 2600.00 a month. we are 50 yrs. old. i can't get a job cause i am over qualified for everything plus companies only want to pay 7.50 to 9.00 an hr. and the jobs are 30+ miles one way. with the way gas prices are up and down i don't want to work to far from home. So any way I my rep Lakeish spoke with me on Thurs. and i told her i mailed my pymt. in on Nov. 12 by money order. she was okay with that and said she will make sure they would stop the repossession WELL...come the next day she calls me and starts being real snappy with me telling me they have not rec'd my pymt. i told her she had to give it a few days it went in by mail and told me why didn't i just call it in with a bank card. I told her cause there is a 12.00 dollar charge for doing that. she told me i should have just paid that and none of this would be happening. so within minutes there was a tow truck driver calling me to come and get my truck. I hung up on him. I asked Lakeish if you repo my truck today and you get my pymt. in the mail come monday are you gonna give me my truck back. she wouldn't ans. me.
WHAT I NEED TO KNOW IF THEY FINALLY GET MY PYMT. WILL THEY CALL OFF THE REPO?

I agree also with the many complaints about CPSS, I have called FTC, no help because CPSS is not a 3rd party collector. I submitted a letter to cease all phone calls to employment, they continue to call. I was told by FTC to hire an attorney. I am willing to become a part of a class action suit. Practices from this company has to stop. I am in the process of locating an attorney who will accept this case. I will also advise the attorney of this site to see if there can be some assistance for all.

I have been dealing with cps for a few years with a car payment. And yes, there are months that I do fall behind on my payments, but I have ALWAYS made them up. And for these people to call my work and talk to me like I never made a payment to them at all is totally uncalled for. They have some of the rudest people working the phones. The last phone call I received was at work while I was with 2 or 3 customers standing right in front of me. I am a service advisor for a dealership ( ironic huh?) and rarely have time to get out of the dealership to take care of personal buisness or even get a lunch break because I am dealing with customers constantly for 11 hours. They wanted me to stop everything I was doing and get them my routing # for my bank so that we can "take care of the late payments" I told them that I can't get out of my work and am extremely busy. They started to tell me that I had all day to go to my bank and why didn't I go. blah blah blah. And as soon as I started to tell them about how busy I was and that I am dealing with customers right now, they hung up on me, THEN caleed me back 3 minutes later to start this whole process over again. STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE

Oh wow I see I am not alone in this situation with this company..They always call me at work when asked not to..They leave nasty messages on my voice mail...They are very unprofessional and rude.. I just refinaced my vehicle because I was so tired of there service and unprofessional way of doing business.
Cps called me after they received the information from my new lender and asked why did I refinace my vehicle. When stating the reasoning the worker for cps call me a f***ing stupid [censored] and then hung up..
I have the direct contact to the President of this company so I will have all these complaints sent directly to him. Maybe he can see how customers feel about the business hes operating and make some major changes.

I bought a new car from a local dealership 2 years ago and it was financed through CPS. I lost my job last year and can not seem to find a job, so my payments are getting behind. I am right now 2 payments behind. They are harrassing me saying that they have red flaged me ( what ever that means) and that I have to set up these two payments today. I am thinking about turning my car in because I just can't pay for it. I still owe almost $19, 000 on my car. My question is, what can they do to me. I have never let a car go back and I just don't know what to do. I know that they send your car to an auction and sell them, but of course they sell them way below the value of the car. Can they take me to court for the remainding amount or do they just put a judgement against you. Has this happened to anyone else. I know some companies will take you to court and some companies just file a judgement or a lien against you. I have asked this company what would happen if I could not pay for it and one of their response was sometimes they don't come and get the car and take you to court for the full amount. If I can't pay 2 payments how am I going to pay $19, 000 at one time. If this has happened to anyone with this company, please let me know.

I been getting CPS calls. They will block there number and never state who they are and where they are calling from. I just received a call from them couple minutes ago. The guy said "Do I want them to garnish my check". I was like who am I talking to. So he said his name is James from CPS and that where are there $50 from Oct. Ok so I am late 1 month. But it's only $50, they make it sound like I can't pay that amount. They piss me off.

OMG! I am sooooo glad I have found people who are going through the same thing with these ignorant people! I am sooo fed up with these people! They call and harass me at my job everyday all day and even my boss complained to them that I could lose my job if they keep calling and they STILL call! I called from my bosses cellphone one day to pay my bill and they have been calling her phone since harrassing her and DID NOT want to take her number off the list after she explained it was not my phone and they could not get in touch with me through her number! I have also filed with the BBB and these people are still doing the same thing! I ADVISE ANYONE TO NEVER FINANCE WITH THIS COMPANY! THEY DO NOT VALUE OR APPRECIATE THEIR CUSTOMERS! THEY HAVE RUDE AND IGNORANT REPRESENTATIVES ALONG WITH SUPERVISORS! WE NEED TO GET TOGETHER AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS COMPANY! ANY SUGGESTIONS?

They are definately very unprofessional. If they call they do not leave a message and then call everyone on your list of references. They called me one day and instead of letting me talk the guy Mike I spoke to starting yelling at me and told he he needed $200 now (This was a Wednesday) I told him if I gave it to him now it would not clear the bank but I will have it in the bank on Friday. He kept being nasty with me so I hung up. he called me back and said where is the car we are tired of doing business with you we are coming to get it. This happened while I was at work. I am diabetic and he had me so upset that my sugar went up to almost 300.
My husband then called and spoke to a David and he was very professional.

They don't just call and speak to you they harass you.

I purchased a vehicle two years ago that was financed through CPS and man do i regret it now. I am a member of the military and recenlty ran into some finacial problems. I support 7 people on 2, 200. dollars a month, I recently aquired two of my spouses family members due to poor living conditions in ther home. So needless to say things are a little tight due to the increase of the grocery bill and etc. I fell behind on my payments for the truck and have been squeezing every dime out i can to send them at least some money towards my payment. They however harass me in every possible way they can, they called my supervisors and ther supervisors, my family, my friends and everyone else they could. Then when i finally do speak to them I get some very young sounding rep who tries to lecture me on paying my bills on time and trying to make me feel bad cause i am a soldier who fell behind and they are as rude a people that i have ever had to speak to. I am so tired of there company they charge me ungodly interest and refuse to work with me. The purchase price of my truck was 16, 000. and have been paying on it 390 a month for 33 months and they said I still owe a little over 12, 000. thats how high my interest rate is with them. 390 a month for 33 months is over 12, 000 already. I wish this company would flop or something cause i feel like i am getting the short end of the stick. I agree with all of you as well, this CONSUMER PORFOLIO SERVICES SUCK! I am a payment behind and a payment due today. Called to set up a payment with them in 2 weeks for the full amount and they said they would not. That they were going to come get the car and I need to tell them the location. I have been dealing with them for two years and they are awful. They somehow found my X-boyfriends mothers home phone and called her. She is old and sick...then they called my neighbors who live accross the street from me, that I don't even know except to wave to as I drive past and people that I worked with 2 years ago...WTF? Isn't there something that can be done about this company? And does anyone know if you can switch loan companys... I just don't want to deal with them peroid! Rather my payment is late or on time. I don't want to talk with them or send them money because they are such ###s!

I too, am a victim of cps. the last time i talked to them was about 1 1/2 months ago. I called them for about the 5th time to try to get a payment deferred, because I've been about 28 days behind for 7 months now, and a deferment would bring me current. but, just as every other time I tried this, they told me they were not giving any more deferments. this was on the 3rd of july and my payment is due on the 2nd. the guy told me to call back on the 1st of august. then, i let him know that i'd called on the 1st of june and they told me to call back after my payment was due. anyway, this argument got heated and went on for a little while until, he began to insult me. i finally told him that he and the company were the most unprofessional i've ever delt with and they are now dead last on my priority list, and, i would pay them when i have the money. the guy continued the insults, so, i just told him to come and get the car and hung up. they haven't picked the car up yet and, i'm still behind 23 days as of today. they are still calling me every day but, i don't answer and never will again. this is the rudest company i've ever delt with and the only one of my creditors that hasn't been willing to work with me since i lost my job 8 months ago. thanks for this site, letting people talk about the nightmares of dealing with (cps) this, i'm feeling alot better about my situation. too all my other creditors, a big THANK YOU! and to cps, GO TO H#LL!

I have been harrassed also. My payment was not even thirty days late. i had put it in themail and thelady called me on my job and told me, pay me now over the phone or we are coming to get your car. I am going to do whatever ai can toy put this company out of business. They are criminals

They are quite rude. I was behind two months and which I didnt know at that time my check bounced but they had a tow truck company by the name of S and S towing call and Myra was very rude. I then called CPS and was informed that the check bounced and was told that I had 48 hrs to get a payment to them. I then received another phone call from S and S towing again speaking the quite rude Myra and she hung up on me. I called CPS again and Sheletta told me that she would give me till 8 am est to get a payment. They are unwilling to help when times are hard. I have been with them sonce early 2007, if I knew that they were like this before I would have just went without a car. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!

I agree with Lou. Who are we to judge a person behind their financial situation. We as people don't know what happened but it's not fair for companies such has CPS to give such harassing phone calls. And even with the phone calls if a person don't have the money they are not going to get it until the person does and if they repo the car okay there are too many ways to get a car this day and time and if they put the car on their credit then they either eventually going to file bankruptcy and so we as people need to stop judging a person and the first thing we can holla is pay your bills when we don't know anything about that person. I normally say to a person like that you pay it for me and I will pay you back when I get it. Because normally a person that says pay your bills make good money and don't have financial problems because they can pay their bills .

They call and harass me repeatedly trying to get me to do their dirty work.
I have files a complaint with the FTC because i dont even like them having my name in their records.

CPS, they are rude, I have had a lot of the same problems with them. Calls and threats.
Hurricane Ike in Southeast TX, called to try to get a couple of weeks on payment, we had evacuated. Said they deferred payment and pay next month, as I did. I have been fighting with them ever since about the payment (deferred) they said was not paid. I have been paying every month extra for late payment charges incurred, still they are never reduced. I get this hateful, rude, untrained person that tells me to shut up and listen to her, when I tried to explain to her who I had been talking to and how I was trying to resolve this on the phone each month since threatening me of repossession, as of 8pm 5-30-09 truck went into repossession. I have paid my notes even 7 months I was out of work. Now, I AM DONE WITH THEM, THEY CAN REPOSSESS THE TRUCK. I will not pay anymore to them. I am a widow and I have nothing they can take. I agree with all of you. the employees of this company does not feel what we all are feeling. they call my job main line, even though they have my private line number they call both lines. if I don't pick up my private line number, they call the main line. I work at a help desk so I'm constantly busy. these people are so rude, unprofessional, they also threaten my pension on my job and I work for a government agency. I understand that my husband and I purchased a vehicle and it was finance through this company, but you don't have to be rude to get your point across. I wonder could they get the money from my pension? This sounds like a lawsuit. Harrassing and threatning phone calls while I'm at work so that I can pay them off. Oh my God, If anyone knows anybody that could pay these vehicles off and close them down, I for it. Oh Yes I'm for it. You can never reach the person that called you and you call them back. I had a rep to tell me that she check her email all the time, and come to find out my emails (3) of them came back undeliverable, now you tell me if that's professional or not. I made sure that I printed it off too just in case they get stupid on me. you know what I mean.

Here's something I didn't know before they can not come on your property and take your car without your permission the sherriffs office and we did call them because we had just paid these people over 1000 dollars and they thought they were getting the truck anyways, my husband was out there before he finished hooking up guy says I have a court order for this truck husband say "let me see it them" guy says "don'y have to" husband says unhook my truck u aint takin it no where I just gave these people 1000 dollars that I didn't even owe them, unhook it and get off my property. guy didn't do it we called the sherriff. Guess what they can't come on your property without your permission and take your vehicle and you do not have to surrender it until u have accually been to court. The sherriff told the repo man he was lucky he hadn't been shot for tresspassing after he didn't leave when he was told to and that he better put the truck down and leave or he was going to arrest him for attempted grand theft auto. These people have harrassed my family and friends to the point everyone has pretty much changed their numbers or threatened to file harrassment charges right now we are running 2 weeks behind but it's because I am recovering from a stroke and not back to work and they still threaten to come get it. I say good luck with that tresspassing is against the law and so is harrassment I may have a a mild stoke but I'm still not stupid or an idiot and I do know some good attorneys if I need one. He will work on contingency.

I really am glad that I found this website. I too, thought I was the only one. I swear if I could cut and paste a few lines from everyones stories, I would have my story. Lets see...honestly i started with CPS in jan 2006. I never had any problems with them (i was always on time) until Hurricaine IKE hit last year in 2008. I was very stressed about what to do, my whole family here was without power and work for 2 weeks at least. Everyone I knew was calling their finance companies and getting deferred payments, so i figured this was my way out. So I called to explain my place of residence was conisdered a disaster area (thinking they would help me), and guess what...they began yelling at me, screaming, demanding payment...etc. (no need to go into detail, obviously you know how that convo went). I wasn't pleased with this, and since it was my first dealing and hadn't had anyone rude but them, i decided to try back and talk to someone else to see if we could work something out. No luck...everyone was just as rude as the first one. I was only two weeks behind, and since no one was willing to work it out with me, i just took my chances and continued to pay two weeks behind but they began calling more and more. I finally worked out an agreement with a MR RUTLEDGE who set up a payment plan for me! I thought "finally, this was what i wanted in the beginning". He was the nicest person i spoke with, and the only one willing to help me. Well apparently his word isnt final, and someone overrode his decision, because the day before i was to make a payment they began calling and blowing my phone up and calling all day at work. (what sucks is i have a common name and i'm not the only one with my name at work...so they harass the "other me" too. i feel so bad for her. and have apologized many times. they have accused her of being me, yelled at her and even once told her that she was covering for me. they have told her all my business, etc) anyways, i then had a towing company calling me as well. i spoke to CPS and explained the arrangements and they told me that even if i made the payment they would still pick it up. HA! i'm a single mother and am not paying them all that money for them to still pick it up. uh no sir! i'll save it for another car! i'm not stupid. I told them to come pick it up but it's been over 2 weeks now, and i'm still driving it. I know i'm taking chances everytime i get in it. This will surprise everyone! i havent read this one yet. So, i quit taking their calls (like eveyone else) and they actually sent me a TEXT MESSAGE yesterday! wow! i was shocked! still didnt make me call them. I'm on my way to work now and am dying to talk to them! I can say that i havent had them call any of my family or friends because hell, they've pretty much changed their numbers since jan 06. lol! oops! but i have had them give out my personal info to coworkers! i'll keep u updated. in the mean time i used their money to put down on another car! i pick my new one up saturday!

I agree with all testimony I have read. This is a company full of unprofessional rep's, I will not be disrespected or bullied. I will be taking my complaint to the top, I will not answer no more of their unprofessional calls...

This site has really taken a lot of stress off of me today. I too have fell victimized by CPS and frankly I've had enough. It saddens me to have a repossession on my credit.
I have had my vehicle since April 2006 and up until November of 2008, I was never more than two weeks behind. I started receiving calls on my job that resulted in them leaving messages with my co-workers as well as on the companys' voice system (it does not state my name or anything indicating that its my office). My supervisor advised one representative that I was not allowed to have calls of that nature. They ignored that and called again, this time asking my co-worker for directions to our job.
I decided to make payment arrangements with Mr. Rutledge the beginning of November to be caught up by the third week of December but he advised me to hold off on making the arrangements. He stated that they have a program where I can have a month added to my loan and that way I will be caught up by the end of the year. I was elated because I knew that would give me time to get caught up with my payments again and pay on other bills. The only thing I needed to do was pay some kind of service fee of $50.00, but it showed that some how I had a $20.00 'credit'. So to secure this agreement I only had to pay $30.00 with a credit card. He would then fax over a contract that must be signed and returned in a certain amount of days. Yes I did pay the $30.00 with a credit card but no fax ever came. I left work that day and truely forgot about needing the fax to make this 'deal' concrete.
Low and behold a few days later Mr. Rutledge calls and leaves a message stating they have been trying to contact me, etc, etc. I called him back reminding him of the arrangement he set up for me and he fed me some bull about a rotation process they have that randomly calls people who are late. He then says, "Well, I never received that fax to make this thing stick". I said, "I never got the fax but shouldn't it be in my records that an arrangement was made so that I won't be receiving anymore phone calls?" He apologized and said yes it's there but he's going to need my fax number again. I asked him to send it soon because I would be leaving work shortly. The fax never came.
I was away from work for a few days only to return to another rep calling me at work, Michelle. I enlightened her to the arrangements and she then apologized. She said that I need to make sure that I receive and then return the fax when I make my January payment. I was like ok I will. You would not believe that Michelle called me the very following week. When I reminded her again, she then apologized and said have a great day. She was actually one of the nice ones if there are any.
I made January's payment and called Mr. Rutledge reminding him of the fax that I needed. To my surprise he was no longer my rep and Shanique will be handling my account. She called my office and at the time my supervisor was standing directly over my shoulders so I told her I would have to call her back. She did not want to accept that response so unfortunately I had to hang up on her. She called back several times leaving a message on my cell phone, work phone and my coworkers voicemail. It stated that I was no longer qualified for the program and they needed two payments or they will have to take legal actions.
That evening I went to the car dealership that I purchased the vehicle from asking for another option. The sales manager said she would take a look to see if I could trade the vehicle in. She also told me to inform CPS and if there were any questions to contact her. Well due to the fact that I owe at least $4000.00 more than what the car retails, I would be looking at payments around $600.00 or more for a vehicle I didn't even like. I decided against that and spoke with Shanique again to work something out. I was set up to make a payment tomorrow but when I called to verify the amount that would be drafted out of my account and the date I would have to make the next payment, this idiotic rep would not allow me to speak with Shanique. He then reminded me that I am 38 days behind and they can still come and pick up my vehicle even after I make the payment tomorrow. I have decided to let this vehicle go and deal with the consequences.
Is there anything in this stimulus for us?

I got sick and fell behind in my car note. CPS Ryan a lady and her supervisor name kendra has called all my relatives and my place of employment and told them that I was 2 months behind in my car note and a yold my job that in one hour they were repossing my car. I have been in contact with this companyand told them everything. I have not avoided them I have kept in constant contact with them. I called ryan back and told her that I was recording this conversation and she got real upset and said that I couldnt recorded our conversation without her permission. I told her ok the recording was off and asked her how does my family and place of employment know who much I am behind. She could not answer me. I told her I contacted an atoorney and he advise me to tell them that she voilated the law when she told my family and place of employment my information. if it happens again I will file a lawsuit. CPS is a company that practices breaking the law and they need to be out of business.

OMG...DITTO TO EVERYONE! THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO BE PUT OUT OF BUSINESS. I CAN'T EVEN BEGIN TO GO INTO WHAT I'VE BEEN THRU WITH THEM. HOPEFULLY THERE IS AN ATTORNEY OUT THERE THAT CAN HELP!

For all those of you who think you are above those who may have fallen short on luck and may have incurred credit issues, I hope you go through it sometime so you can enjoy some of the calls from some of these ruthless vultures that call to plain harrass people make. I realize that there are some irresponsible people out there but not every one that has fallen behind on their financial obligations are. As for harrassing phone calls. I get them all the time from collection agencies including Consumer Portfolio Services just because I have a common last name and theese slugs (so called bill collectors) either leave harrassing phone calls or harras me when I answer the phone. And even if I tell them they got the wrong number, they continue to call and continue to harrass me. So You should look at the other side of the story before you talk. I owe no one and I get harrassing call. Go figure.

I am a co-worker of Joyce's and I have taken many phone calls while on the job from good ole' Phillip who has proven to me that he is nothing but a liar. I've answered 3 calls and he leaves messages on Joyce's home phone saying that he's called and has left 6 messages with me...
He's a limp dick... a worthless waste of life. What kind of a-hole must one be to get a job like this anyway... Do they train these things to do their jobs or are they just born this way... This job I'm certain must be the first steps one must take to get into hell with ease... I know!.. they couldn't get in on the kama cozzi missions so the only other option on getting a secured job in the United States was this one... Do any of them speak clear English? I'm sure if they were in there own countries their tounges would be cut out already...I think that any car dealership that allows these ### to take hold of innocent parties financial loans should be boycotted as well... I plan on having Philips job one day! and calling him for payment! they have to stop treating us like we are so low and worthless! Its gonna stop!

I can't believe this is happening to others I thought it was just me yes it's all true I've been through everyone of these situations and I too can't wait to be done with them I tell everyone not to deal with CPS they should be going out of buisness soon if we keep posting such incidents. I doubt if they capture any new fools after they mistreated us old fools.
