Consumer Bill / Fraud and cheating
This company will withdraw money from your checking account without your knowledge if you sign up for a subprime credit card or a payday loan through one of various websites. They are NOT a loan company but will "shop" your information to obtain credit from other legitimate firms. What you DO NOT realize is that they take your checking account information and put fraudulent charges through on your account. You can get your money back but it is an arduous process.
Here's what to do if you are a VICTIM of Consumer Bill:
1. Call Consumer Bill and tell them you did not authorize their charges and request they reverse your electronic submission to put the money back into your account. They will deny your request but will tell you that they will send you a check in the mail within 30-45 days. DO NOT ACCEPT THIS! Here's the reason:
Once 60 days has passed your bank has NO recourse against these bottom feeders. They can NO LONGER get your money back at the end of 60 days. Consumer Bill is trying to string you along past the 60 days.
2. IMMEDIATELY call your banks "check fraud" division and tell them you had an un-authorized charge against your account. They will do a fraud investigation and reverse the transaction and should refund any associated fees for returned checks etc.
3. IMMEDIATELY close your checking account and re-open a new account and NEVER give your account information to any company on the internet unless absolutely necessary!
THESE RUDE INDIVIDUALS TRIED THIS WITH ME AND I CONTACTED MY BANK, HAD THE CHARGES REVERSED ON THE SPOT! I PLAN TO INVESTIGATE A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST THIS COMPANY.
