ConstructionDeal.com Scam

Company sells fake construction leads. They require you to make a deposit to begin receiving leads, all of which are fake, clients either don't exist or have zero interest in service. I was promised 3 free leads multiple times and never received them. I was just continually charged for false leads.

If you don't call a lead within 4 hours it can't be disputed, and you have to wait between 5 and 10 days to dispute a lead, which allows the company more time to send you and charge you for even more fake leads.

Even if a dispute is successful, which it will normally be since none of the leads are actually real, you only receive your funds back as credit for more fake leads, never for your actual money back. The also have an auto-refill option on your account that you have to call in to get taken off your account, otherwise they will automatically draft at least $300 from your account as quickly as they can run your account dry. This is a scam, these people should be in prison for fraud.

ConstructionDeal.com Fraud

Company claims to give you solid leads, but the fact of the matter is the leads are far from that. After charging your credit card you start receiving some leads with wrong phone numbers, wrong email address, people who are just looking for a price over the phone or info about a product. It's a bunch of bull. Do not use this company they take your money and deliver nothing.

Have been charged for leads in November and December, when I canceled lead program in September, instead of cancelling my account they put it on hold and then without my knowledge began charging for leads in November and December. These leads they are charging for, are not even work that my company is licensed to do or work that we have done. All the company will do is give me a credit of $50 toward other leads. I don't want the service and now they are trying to force me to use it. This is FRAUD and I am contacting the Attorney Generals offices in both California and Virginia, this is not over by a long shot. I want criminal charges brought at this time.

ConstructionDeal.com BOGUS, FRAUD, AND DECPETIVE PRACTICES

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! THEY ARE A FRAUD and THEY ARE DECEPTIVE!

They promise the world and deliver NOTHING! They help themselves to your hard earned money, while they do nothing for it. DO NOT give them your credit card! You’ll be sorry.

They are supposed to give you “qualified” leads for a fee….. The word is QUALIFIED! They don’t qualify anyone. Out of 14 leads we actually spoke to one customer >>No Work>> the following day they took another $500 out of our account without our knowledge or authorization.

We’ll wait to see what if anything we get back. If it sounds too good to be true? Buyer BEWARE>>>STAY AWAY from CONSTRUCTIONDEAL.COM

Hello Gene, We spoke on the 18th and I advised you that we would be issuing a full refund of the 500.00 and a refund of the 156.00 that remained in your balance last week. I am sorry to see you are misrepresenting your experience after we have worked to meet a mutual agreement. We always give a full credit for referrals that could not be contacted. We are here to help and would have been happy to work with you on any problems. We have sent you an email confirmation of the refund, I am not sure why you would doubt you would be getting it. We provide a great service to thousands of users across the country. It is our goal to help contractors get work and support them in every way possible. Regards, Sam Garcia Director of Ops.

If I am correct, ConstructionDeal.com is just another bogus lead site built by the king of bogus lead sites ServiceMagic.com to capture past servicemagic clients such as myself who were not happy with the results. The idea behind this is that past servicemagic customers will leave this service unhappy but look for a replacement service. This is where constructiondeal picks up those customers and funnels that money back into the pockets of servicemagic owners.

ConstructionDeal.com Fraud, Deception, THIEVES

They signed us up for a trial with a small deposit. Sent us one lead per month, pretty much all garbage leads at that. Bad leads were not refunded timely. I spoke with a rep at the company that asked me to stick with them for one more month as things would be improving on their lead quality, and if still nothing came through, they would refund my deposit. Nothing came through, I cancelled and asked for my deposit and was told that I couldnt get my money back. This is theft. They are liars and crooks. They are by far the worse lead generation source for a contractor. Worse than Service Magic, worse than contractors.com. DONT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THEM, THEY ARE LIARS, CROOKS AND THIEVES. They should not only be ran out of business, but prosecuted!

We used them for a year as they kept telling us the same crap about how their lead verification process was improving yet 90 percent of the leads we received were unreachable and 5-7 percent had already found somone or weren't interested to begin with. I suspended our account starting in February and kept it suspended until we cancelled altogether this month. I received an email stating that I should ask for a customer review from a lead that we had not received. That prompted me to log into my account only to find that they charged me for 4 leads while my account was suspended, which we never received any details pertaining to these leads. We were told by the rude representative that someone from my office must have logged in and turned our lead referral delivery back on at supposedly 5 in the morning. When we questioned why we did not receive notifcation of these leads, there was no answer and were repeatedly told that they would not refund those leads under any circumstances. We were sent 155 leads (at a cost of $9600) and signed 4 jobs (minimal jobs at that), not a very good return for my money. Not to mention the cost associated with paying my staff to call day after day with no response from the customers. I would not recommend this company at all. Their representataives are rude, their leads are unqualified and rates right up there with Service Magic. Ruthless theives who serve the non-paying consumer and not the contractor that pays them.

ConstructionDeal.com No referrals for fees paid

I received a call recently about a supposed oustanding referral payment due to constructiondeal.com. When I contacted them they told me that I had signed up for the service and that I had received leads that I paid a fee for. I have never received a single lead from this service but they went as far as to threaten to take me to a collection agency if I did not pay and that I would be charged $5.00 a day for every day outstanding. Aparrently I had signed up for the service but totally forgot about it since I never received any leads. I was told that I would receive leads by text, phone call or email. Again; I never received 1 lead in any of the forms of contact which they described. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! THEY ARE A FRAUD!

Hello Cathe,

I am very sorry you have had such a poor experience. You are correct in that when you activated your account we began sending referrals based on your settings. We can only deliver our service based on the items you tell us to send you through your account. The first referral you received was in the same week you activated your account. If you would have contacted us then about receiving a type of job you did not want we could have adjusted the account to your requirements. You did not contact us for 2 months.
We always want to work with our customers and would have worked with you in some fashion by issuing a credit to the account but because of the threat of a chargeback we were unable to move forward on that front. Once a charge back is initiated we must deal with the credit card company directly. As any business dealing with credit cards knows, a charge back is a serious manner and we must follow certain rules. I wish we could have spoken sooner, I am sure we would have been able to come to a resolution. For contractors considering ConstructionDeal.com please rest assured we will never send you a referral outside of the settings you enter in your account and you will have full control to start or stop referral delivery inside of your account. You have full control. Please give us a call with any questions and we will put it in writing if needed.
Sincerely,

Sam G.

constructiondeal.com - DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! RIP OFF! THEY ARE STINK!
I signed up for this referral service only on a per lead basis. I was interested a lead a saw for an urgent care so I renewed my account. That was a big mistake. I did not get a chance to bid on the lead because it had reached a maximum bid level. I was still charged for the lead. I called and wanted to cancel, they told me to keep the money in the account and next time I see a medical lead I can jump on it quickly. I told them that's fine, as long as I'm only charged per lead. Well, they took out $300.00 and I got nothing. No leads . . nothing. When I called to complained they said becuase I failed to change my settings on my account I will still be charged. I told her the conversation I had with one and she didn't care. Basically, they said they would do NOTHING! I paid $300.00 and didn't get anything. I will never use their services again. They have no morals. I was completing ripped off and mislead. They provided me with the wrong infomation and did not correct their mistake!

Mr. Rosado,
We issued a full refund for all charges going back to February. The only reason you where charged was due to your failure to cancel your account. I am sorry you have vented these remarks online, they are not true. We make all information available in your online account and we strive to provide the tens of thousands of contractors throughout the country the best service in the industry. Even though you never canceled your service we still provided you a refund. May I ask why you did not mention that in your post? If any honest contractors need assistance we will be happy to do all we can to make sure our service works for your business. Please give us a call with any questions and if you have doubts we will put it in writing.

ConstructionDeal.com Unethical business practices

Unbelievably bad business ethics. I have received a couple of referrals for projects that turned into nothing - owners not moving on them. One was completely unreasonable to do (a room in an attic); on the other the owner will not return contact attempts. This company apparently contacted this second project owner and was supposedly told that the owner was still going to do the project and would respond to email contact. That's not what was initially indicated in the first referral contact from ConstructionDeal, nor is that all that I did . . . I called and emailed the customer the very day I got the referral.
I have had two dispute requests rejected now.

I was just told that I cannot re-submit a dispute request, and that the 10 day notification period has expired. That's exactly why I had initially submitted the request within the first 7 days. That one was within the time-frame, but to re-submit is not permitted, even when the project is not happening. Now if I try to badger the owner to get her to contact me then I will look bad in the community in which I live and work.
What to do here? At this point, it's just another $80 gone with nothing to show for it. I told the woman to just cancel my account and then hung up the phone. My time is too valuable to deal with this disgusting group of people.

This is the second company that has given me similar treatment. The other was actually worst (EveryContractor.com) - fortunately, they're out of business now. The took me for $999, and have apparently taken other for up to a few thousands of dollars.

I suggest you stay as far away from this company as you can. Actually, I would highly recommend you deal with someone in the local community that you can look at face-to-face. Use conventional marketing means. I've tried a number of these companies now and not been happy with any of them.

ConstructionDeal.com bad leads, no refund

The leads were ridiculous, not related to what I do, jobs were already done or people were not interested at all: maybe in six months, no money right now, just want to know how much or best one "already hired a contractor, just want to make sure we didn't overpaid". They are supposed to sell a job to four contractors only. One tile job was sold to SEVEN guys. We all showed up at about same time. After months of paying for bad leads I decided to cancel my membership. Sure enough they kept my $135. According to costumer service I agreed to it when I signed up. Nobody mentioned anything when I started this B.S. and I signed up over the phone so I didn't have a chance to review the policy. What a waste of time and money. Darek

Hello Mr. Grusby,

I am sorry you feel you did not receive the service you deserve.

We have always tried to work with you. When you signed in March of 2009 we lowered the minimum requirement for you to join our service. Our minimum was $200.00 but we reduced it to $150.00 just to assist you. We have issued you account credits on 3 separate occasions in order to continue making you happy. You called on 3-11-10 and expressed your dissatisfaction and we offered to bring your account back to the full $150.00 you deposited 1 year ago. We strive to provide the best service possible and have tried time and time again to show you that commitment.

We issued you a refund of all available funds and left a credit on your account to use in the future. We treat every customer fairly and have a network of thousands of satisfied contractors around the country that attest to that by using our service every month. We are here to answer any questions or concerns. If anyone has questions please feel free to give us a call at [protected].

Kindly,

Sam G.

ConstructionDeal.com Fraudulent company

Just like another contractor in Ranch Cordova, Ca, I was sold one year unlimited job leads by this company. After just 6 months they sent a very deceptive e-mail entitled important account information.' The e-mail outlined a new service they were providing for their contractors. Having prepaid for a year I assumed the company was honest and would honor our contract for one year. I soon realized that I was no longer receiving any leads and to add insult to injury the company had charged my credit card without my authorization for additional services. Assuming it was a simple mistake, I contacted the company and they informed me that they had decided to change their service and since I had not acted within 30 days of their change I was out of luck for any refund.

I have disputed the charge to my credit card, but the fact that they thought they could unilaterally change the service agreement and start charging my credit card is CRIMINAL. I am sure they think that the small dollar amounts that they have cheated me and probably hundreds of other contractors is not enough for anyone to take action, but to me it is the principle of the thing.

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE----THEY ARE UNETHICAL AND DECEPTIVE!

I started receiving calls from Construction Deals the spring of 2014. Same guy kept calling telling me that there were people in my area looking for ME, who needed my scope of work (Audio/Video). They were hot & ready to go, just waiting to hear from me. Against my better judgement I agree to give them $300.00 as a trial run. As soon as they had the money they supposedly set up my account but I could not get correct log in info, so I couldn't even review my supposed leads. I sent email after email trying to get the log in situation corrected. By the time I finally did receive the conceivably correct login info, I'd decided I'd had enough already. I hadn't yet logged in and decided I wouldn't after the BS I'd gone though already. I called on June 24 2014 and demanded a refund as I had not opened my leads much less followed up on one. I was told by Tye to expect a full refund to my merchant account by 7-10 days. Today is August 20th. Still no refund. I called yesterday and was told it had been processed on 8/18/2014 (not exactly 7-10 days). Today is the 20th, still no refund. DO NOT TRUST THESE GUYS!

Stay away from this company, they are a rip off. I deposited $300.00 and each time I received a referral it was bad, so I received a credit. Today I tried to cancel my account, and I was told I received over $300.00 in credits, however I did not, I received a $55.00 credit each time I received a bad lead, therefore I should still have $245.00 in my account, which currently shows as my balance by the way. They refuse to issue me a refund RUN, while you still can...

So, I was thinking long and hard about this service. I really was looking to promote my masonry company. After long phone conversations It all sounded great. The real deal I thought. Then I stumbled on here and read all your reviews and had to dig deeper. My money is hard earned and before I randomly give it away I verify things. One frustrating thing other than reading all your reviews, I found they lied to me. They stated they will never send leads to more than 3 contractors. Sounded great. Then I dig deeper and find this message to the people requesting contractors...If you need to find a home repair expert, post your project with ConstructionDeal.com. We'll match you to as many contractors as you wish -- and don't forget to check them all out! It's a fast, free service for all homeowners and business owners with remodeling, building, or repair jobs. NOTE they say as many as you wish... Sure dosent sound like 3... Anyone have a good, reliable trustworthy lead company they can share?

Well - lesson learned. I REALLY should have done my homework prior to setting up an account with this so-called company. I wanted to stop the service almost upon immediately signing up. They talked me into continuing the service for a few more leads. Long story short - I am quite disappointed and wanted to warn ANYONE the Constructiondeal.com is a horrible company. The leads were nothing but a waste of my time.

YES, they play games with your deposit.
A couple of years ago I tried them with a $200.00 deposit, I was listed under many areas and at first I was able to pick and choose the projects I wanted to look at. Burned up about $50.00. That was ok, but then they started to pick and choose what jobs I was going to take and not knowing, I was to answer all the jobs they listed after a few weeks, they charged me for all those un-seen jobs and ran me out of money with projects they randomly charged me for. Instead of charging for each and every job in a row, they picked one here and one there over a months time, I complained and got nowhere with their manager, To this day they still send me e-mails trying to get me to re-sign up again...

Thanks to all of you who have posted your comments. Somehow I've gotten on their email spam list and some of the jobs look tempting. I never signed up (but the job teases keep coming in almost daily). The economy looks like it's beginning to turn around and as it does get better, scam companies will have no victims listening to their lies. Hang in there, guys, the building trades are on the rebound and better times are ahead.
