Bought a refurbished Compaq Deskpro. Tried to boot it up 2 days ago, and got an error message saying Himem.sys was missing or corrupt. Called CR in Peoria, IL and spoke with 2 reps. They both told me I need to run the Restore disk that was included with the PC. I asked if this would just restore my registry and one of the reps said yes. Loaded the restore disk in the CD Rom drive and it immediately started running a "ghost" of the original hard drive, wipeing out my entire drive. I spoke with the store and they admitted that I was given wrong information, but they expressed no regret. I will never purchase anything from them again.
