Compaq / Bad service

I ran the utility to create "recovery discs" on my new laptop. It aborted. I registered and emailed tech support for a set of discs. I waited. I emailed again. I waited. Over 3 months, including two emails to the office of the CEO, Mark Hurd, this produced...NO EFFECTIVE COMPAQ SUPPORT!

My laptop is useless without recovery discs and I can't get normal support, escalated support, or support from the office of the CEO.

Will I ever recommend or buy Compaq or HP again? Not in THIS lifetime.

    My husband and I bought a laptop from RadioShack..it was a spur of the moment purchse because we were supposed to get some really great REBATES to make it ridiculously inexpensive. So, we get everything home and of course I make copies of all the receipts and UPCs and fill everything out and send them via mail to the listed addresses. Of course you have to wake some ridiculous 8 to 12 weeks for your money...so there are about 4 rebates...I get three back...all the small amounts. The one I am waiting for is the big one...about $400. After what I consider to be a good length of time I let my husband know we still have not gotten the money and we look at my copies of everything to find the email address and immediately contact them. We don't hear back from them. So we contact them again. When we first hear back from them they say we did not send the correct UPC. PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG, but normally when this occurs with a mail in rebate they send you a letter so that you are able to send the correct information back to them...of course that is the one envelope that I get the 15 UPCs mixed up in...I'm human, we make mistakes. So, my husband says okay, we have copies, we can send it to you now...they say no...the time is up... We missed it by DAYS...it took them WEEKS to respond from the first time we tried to contact them. Which my husband told the "customer service" rep and she basically said, tough luck. So he wants to speak with her supervisor...she says you can, but he won't do anything for you...he will tell you what I just told you. He says that he wants to talk to them anyway. And then...he is not available. WHAT!?!? So now we are out $400 on a laptop that has already been sent in 2 times for maintenance. STAY AWAY FROM RADIOSHACK!! We will never go back...not even for a battery!

    I have worked for radioshack for 5 years, and there has never been a rebate for $400. Even if that were true, Radioshack stores have NOTHING to do with the rebate process once you have purchased the product. It is up to you to contact the dept with the correct info within the given timeframe. My god, people. Assume responsibilty for somethings...

    with great sorrow i have to say to every body that the service of compaq service center is very very bad of

    I sent a Compaq Desktop & CPU for repairing on 14 October 2017 but he had not cheked till now ( 22/10/2017 ) his recepnist ( Renu ) mamimum time ( 75% ) does not attend call and she does not talk after pickup phone, i contracted to his engineer ( Mr. Ganesh ) three times in three days by phone but he always says that please wait sir, i m just calling you after chek your system but he has nither cheked system not called me till now
    so I will heartly request to Compaq Service Department that Pleasse dont puzzle to Customer and take serious action

    I have neen a customer for many years and I have went thru five comp. and I never had a real problem until now. I am so angry about all of it. I purchased my compaq in san antonio, tx and on my way to baton rouge, la my NEW LAPTOP went down with only a couple of hours use. I took it in the store and they replaced it with a new one but charged me 60.00 because I did not have the box. I told them that I did not have it because I was on a bsn. trip and did not expect it to blow. The one that they replaced it with sounds like it wants to go out. I found the box a few days ago but I am upset that they want me to send the whole back so i can get my money back. I also have not revieved the rebate that I mailed in. I am sorry that I had my people buy compaqs and I gave them my word that I thought this was the best laptop to buy. Please get back to me ASAP. i CAN BE REACHED by e-mail or my cell 210-428-9194.     Compaq - major variation in monitor color

    the laptop monitor gives a variation in color display. it has a high overlay of violet color. even if we look a white background(we can say as the first window of "mspaint") shows a gradiant overlay. when i check with other laptops present in the hp service center, there is a major variation in the color. i can't take a picture now, as it is now in service center of hp, in eranakulam, kerala, india

    laptop model number for the above complaint is CQ61-408TX. i just forgot to mention the model number in first complaint.
