Comfort Delco Taxi SHA4736J / Horrifying attitude

this is the first time I have ever written any complaint letter. Not because I've never been offended or bullied, because I never thought it was worth the effort. This time, however, one of the taxi driver got me furious, threaten and very upset(which in return equates to the image of Comfort Delco and Singapore).  At 9:24pm, 15th May, F1 pit building, the condition for getting a cab was terrible. It was raining, there were no taxis and every taxi company's hotline is engage. So we could only wait in the line for a taxi. SHA4736J came along with no hired sign, nor on call sign nor destination sign, obviously we were eager to jump in. Instead of taking us, he whined down the window instead.The conversation went:Driver: "Where are you going?"Me: "Telok Blangah."Driver: "No."My friend: "We will pay you $10 more."Driver:"No."Me: "Where are you going?"After a short hesitation Driver: "Jurong".When I was about to give up since he seem to be quite fixated about going to Jurong. Then another causasian passenger came up next to me and told the taxi driver he was going to Katong. When the taxi driver openly and daringly quoted him $50. $50, mind you. I was insulted and furious when I heard that. Obviously, your taxi driver was not concern about the location, it was the money that he was concern.     So, I jumped into the backseat and told your driver to take us to telok blangah and we are not paying him extra. If he doesnt take us, I'm going to complain him for haggling for extra money. And so, he started driving. And I thought he finally got it. But 2 meters later, he stopped the car and told us to get out of the car. I was shocked! But I said no, we are not getting out. He asked the question again, and I said no. At this point, he switched off the engine of the car. And said, "You dont want to get out right? Very good." And he started dialing some number and told the person on the line that there are two passengers that refused to get out of his car. And then he got out of his taxi. I was furious! So I made my call to LTA and reported the entire situation. But LTA suggested I called the police instead and so I did. While I was talking to the police, the taxi driver came back to the taxi and started screaming at us through the window, threatening us to get out of his car repeatedly. He was screaming at the top of his voice and I was almost afraid that he would start beating us up. Fortunately that did not happen.After the police came and took statements for about 30-40mins, he was free to go. Before he left, he made snide remarks to the policeman. Saying: "So I am free to go right? Wait ah, wait.. I want to check if there are any thing stolen or broken in my car. Just now they were in the car for long time." He said it in the most sarcastic manner possible. Honestly,   being a proud Singaporean, I am completely disappointed and disgusted with the behavior of this man. Who is he to be haggling for money and thinking it is right? He did not apologize, instead he was threatening me and raising his voice at me. Is this the image of what a Comfort Delco taxi driver should be carrying? He seemed all too familiar with the procedure of this complains. I am very certain that it is not the first time this has happened to him. This is an absolute disgrace to my country.

    Dear All, please inform your guest coming to Singapore to be more cautious, my guest board a taxi from Changi airport taxi stand to Furama city hotel, the journey on weekday, around evening 18pm will normally cost about SGD24.00. But on the 21May, my guest was charges SGD43.15!. Due to receipt (Grab recp # 872730)was issued by driver, and hoping Grab could base on the receipt number and photo of driver to trace the case, in a hope that this ugly side of Singapore will not happen or surface again. But instead Grab, replied the booking was made in different account, due to Grab policy and with personal data protection law, they could not assist. Grab asking my foreign guest (who already went back) to contact them directly.Taxi number shb 8308a
