I received a collection letter on an issue for merchandise that was a fraud to begin with. I resolved the issue with the merchandise company supposedly located in Florida whose call center was in Pennsylvania or Georgia. It could have been in Indonesia or India for all I knew. The bogus charge was credited back to my charge card and the matter settled. So I thought. That incident happened in 2014. Now this "courtesy notice of balance due to close account" from Collect Pros. I am going to have one of the attorneys in our office handle this. I am about to post the scam on our website with the rest of the fraud scams attacking senior citizens.

I ordered a sample of this product and then every month I received more product that I did not order. After the 2ed month of receiving more product that was not ordered and was charged to my Credit Card, I call the company and told them I did not order any more product and I do not want any more product and not to charge my Credit Card any more. They agreed, so why, if they wanted payment, did they not just charge my Credit Card like they did the other times the sent me the unwanted product?

I received a collections letter from "Collect Pros" for and order I did not order & had returned to the company. The company may also be a fraud as the phone number is not & has not been in service. This company needs to be brought before some kind of board & their business shut down. Collect Pros has messed with the wrong lady.

Similar situation for my mom today, 5/28/15. Letter on pink paper indicating she owed $365.75 for Entertainment Weekly Magazine. She also called and got the recording to write a dispute letter or go online to dispute and if she doesn't pay or dispute in 30 days next actions will be taken. Of course she never ordered or received any magazines and $365.75 for magazines is a pretty ridiculous notion so these scammers aren't even very smart about it. I'm glad she asked me about it before she went on line and possibly got tricked into providing information.
Thanks to all for reporting this as now I feel better telling her to throw the letter in the garbage and not give it another thought.

I received a Pink Notice stating I owe $365.75 for Entertainment Weekly, Which I Never Ordered and Never Received. I knew this was a Scam. I can't believe people can do this to other people. I hope Karma gets them back 10-fold and they get arrested and convicted harshly for what they are doing to people! A Concerned Citizen for Others: Wendy in Arizona.

I too just received a notice of collections from Collect Pros on a pink piece of paper for $365.75 for Entertainment Weekly Magazine that indicated I was past due for a magazine ordered in February 2011. The letter reflected an address in Woburn, MA for collections. The letter was mailed from a Carson City, NV address, and the postage was generated out of Tampa FL. Of course, I have been unable to contact either Collection Pros or Entertainment Weekly Magazine by phone What can be done to close this "supposedly" collection agency down?!

I recv this PINK letter today as well for US Weekly mag that I have never ordered for $299.25. First clue this is a fake was on the outside envelope that said "this is not a solicitation do not throw away" .A legit bill NEVER says that on the envelope...so tired of this crap. Second clue is its on PINK paper, legit bills are not on colored paper. I truly hope no one actually paid anything to this company.

same exact happened to me --pink collection letter sent to me regarding a past issue that was settled in dec 2014 and finalized in jan 2015 using my credit card agent specialing in scams--called that company and they said collect pros have been issuing collection letters on any disputes made with their company and since all those problems with letters going out they have dropped them as a valid collector--I sent out a formal dispute letter to cease and desist to collect pros and advised they change their names because they are not "PROS"

I received a letter for a debt collection for 365.75 for entertainment weekly since last yr for non payment, never subscribed to this magazine+ nor did we ever received it when I tried to call in to speak with someone I was told I had to dispute it online, and there was not a supervisor available to speak with me. When I filled out the form I was told to go to another site. This is a scam don't fall for it

I also got a 79.95 charge from Mango cleanse and if I don't resolve or pay it will be 99.95 in 30 days the problem is there is no way that you can reach a live customer service for collect pros. I don't even know or receive anything from mango cleanse. I don't know who to contact to or what to do. I don't think I will way anything for this company if there are no one to explain what I did own and the original company I can resolve the issue with.

YES.. My wife just received a NOTICE of collections from these scammers for 365.00 for alleged magazines we never heard of, much less contracted with. They need to have their offices bull dozed during work hours. I am contacting the attorneys general in 3 States today with a complaint on this issue. As well we are sending "Collect Pros" legal notice for pending State and Federal investigation against them. Tired of all these scammers. They just &^%$ed with the wrong Jew.

My "Courtesy Notice" was for quite a bit more than these above show. Mine was for $365.75 for US Weekly Magazine. I only buy magazines in the store and have done so for many, many years. I don't know what to say. It seems lately I've been hit. I had people from one "collection" company calling me saying they were coming to serve me with papers and I'd better be there or I would be sorry. This is all ridiculous. All it takes to keep these people in "business" for a few people to panic and pay. I'm going to write them and demand verification of the debt. We'll see what happens then.

I received the exact same letter. I called the Elite Coupon company and asked them to research this for me. Their response was : Thank you for contacting us. RetailMeNot doesn’t charge users for coupons and didn’t send this letter. We also haven’t engaged Collect Pros or any other collection agency to send letters on our behalf. If you believe that the letter is a scam, we would encourage you to report it to the Federal Trade Commission at this link: https://www.ftc.gov/faq/consumer-protection/submit-consumer-complaint-ftc. We hope this information is helpful. Best of luck. I will be reporting this to the Federal Trade Commission today.

I received a letter from Collection Pros dated 04/03/2015 saying that I owed $29.99, plus $4.95 shipping and handling, (total of $34.94) for a Product called Elite Coupon Deals. I've never even heard of this product or company, let alone purchased anything from them. I called the 800 number and all it does is give you automated instructions on three ways to make your payment. I listened to the instructions and after it finished and said "thank you for calling, goodbye!" I waited some more. After about 30 seconds the automated recording started up again and asked me for my reference number, then to verify my name and my address. It went on to state the amount I owed, the date my "product was purchased" and that I needed to IMMEDIATELY make a payment today to avoid a collection fee! I didn't input any of my credit card info and it eventually ended the call. I decided to call a second time to hear the date my so called "purchase" was made. Once it got to the part where it asked for my reference number, I input the same reference number again, but then it said it couldn't locate an account with that reference number! This is such a scam! It's ridiculous that so many people are receiving these letters, but I am relieved to see that I'm not the only one that has this problem. I hope the people or company behind this get caught soon! I'm glad I did some research on this before getting scared into paying them!

I received a collection notice today saying I owed 79.95 for mango cleanse. I have never purchased anything like this before and I get the same thing when I call, only 3 options to pay and can not talk to any one and the address is also the same 311 West Third Street Carson City, NV.. I'm pretty positive that it's a scam!

I received a notice from these collectpros stating I owe $34.94. Never heard of these people. Searched the address on the payment stub 311 West Third Street Carson City, NV 89703 in google and street view shows a lovely neighborhood. This is a complete scam. Hope no one gives these ###s their money.

Received a letter today stating "Urgent Notice" . This notice is alleging I owe $99.95 for a vitamin cream I have never ordeed nor received. Seems like a scam. Why are they just notifying with a collection notice in April! Never heard anything from these people or the Vitamin cream company prior to this. There is no way to reach a human!

I got the same letter today. How are you supposed to resolve the issue, when you call and can not talk to a human. It is only a recording telling you exactly how to pay, just like in the letter. They tried billing my credit card for Mango Cleanse and I was given a credit back and thought issed was resolved until today!

Received a letter yesterday from Collect Pros for $29.99 + $4.95 shipping and handling - also for a purchase supposedly made from Elite Coupon Deals. I immediately suspected a fraud as I almost always pay by credit card and could not remember ever purchaing anything from Elite Coupon Deals: and, of course, I could not reach a person to speak to at the number provided by Collect Pros. Glad to see I'm not the only one!

I attempted to call, but of course there is no way to speak to anyone, only 3 options to make a payment. Definitely seems like a fraud!

searching online i
have found several other complaints about this company. All collection letters worded exactly as mine with same mail date and same due date (one even had same reference # as mine 346458) Some were for same product as mine but most were for other random vague products like vitamin supplements, weight loss pills, cleaners, ect. Also no complaints or info of ANY kind before 4/6/2015 about Collect Pros but did find a well known scam collection company listed as Pro Collect. Assuming they just switched up name to continue scamming. Please post if u find out more info
