Coles Supermarkets Australia rude behaviour

I went for grocery shopping at Werribee plaza coles supermarket. Mr.Ned was on duty for store support supervisor. He was very rude and did not helped me to find the product which I was looking for. When I insist to look at the back if they have stock then he said "we don't have this product you can go somewhere else" he was not interested even to look for the product or didn't greet me. He looked so frustrated from the start. Very disappointing behaviour.

Coles Supermarkets Australia chicken wings

To whom this may concern, I am writing this in regards into chicken wings that i purchase a few days ago. when i got home and started to wash to chicken wings i noticed an of smell to them. i washed them 3 times and the smell wouldn't go away and in the end i decided to throw them in the bin. I am very disappointed as i am a very faithful and loyal coles customer. i pay premium coles prices as i could have gone to the middle eastern chicken store around the corner for half the price.

Coles Supermarkets Australia racist remarks to fellow migrant team members

I have been working in Coles as a night filler for around three years and have had to endure rascist remarks about the colour of my skin for the whole time. At first, being a new team member, I was quiet but when a manager makes a joke about not being able to shake my hand because of "Ebola" - I had to stand up and say something. A fellow team member (though the word " team" is a bit of a stretch) said that another team member would never like me because "of the colour of my skin" - and I was shocked. The other team member openly told me she hated Australian indigenous people because they were "dirty and disgusting" - which was aimed directly at me. I have reported these incidents to the new manager - but the real problem is the level of ignorance and stupidity by the Australia staff at the supermarket. It is essential that COLES and similar supermarkets give their usually "bogan" minumum wage staff - proper training to stop gossiping and sniping at the workplace. These people ( and I admit there are only a handful who cause the toxic workplace) need to be trained to be better and more respectful team members. Racism should NOT be tolerated and such people must be warned and then sacked. Lower level positions are vital for new migrants - but many of my fellow migrants ( Africans, Arabs, Indians) do not feel welcome - even though many have significantly higher qualifications than the Australians and are generally more literate.

Coles Supermarkets Australia treatment of staff members

I work for Coles for more than 9 years now. I can truly say that I was not treated well by Managers. I started as casual employee they only gave me 8 hrs. to 10 hrs. shift a week. When I ask for additional hours they threaten me that if I keep asking for more hours they will not give me any good recommendations if I look for another job. There is also an incident about going to the toilet is a big problem even if I really need to go they will say its not time its busy. I end up calling the Union so they will let me go to the toilet. This is slave labor. Now I am injured because of repetitive lifting of heavy bags in the checkout wear and tear of the job. The Doctors discover I have Bursitis and tear in my shoulders. Then the Wesfarmers Insurance have a Specialist saying that even I did not work in Coles my Injury will just develop because of my age. People I work with from 19, 23, 35, 58yrs. old and etc. are getting injured shoulders, back arm pain . They just want to get away with liability. The bad thing too is the Support Manager lied in his statement he said under oath that i did not remember where I get injured, I have not told anybody about my injury and he never saw me in pain. Its a cover up so it looks good that there a few injury. I am a good worker and I deserve to be treated with respect and fair but I did not experience this in this company. There Managers are mostly not train to be peoples person. They have no respect for the staff members the only thing they know is they are running a business. Without the staff members this business will not run. So Coles Managers learn to be GOOD WITH YOUR STAFF you will not function without them.

Coles Supermarkets Australia sloppy customer service

This was on a monday night, 10/11/15. I asked one staff member if coles had 'multi-v' in stock. He said"yes. Go to aisle number...'. I went to ask another staff member who was stacking shelves in that aisle. He looked for multi-v in that aisle. He couldn't find it in that aisle so he went to the refrigerated section of juices. It wasn't there. He then said it was sold out. But he asked another older staff member who then took us back to the aisle (where he could not find the multi-v) and the older staff member pointed to the multi-v on the shelf without saying a word. I found the customer service here quite off hand, disorganized and rude. Perhaps more customer service training could be provided here.

Coles Supermarkets Australia multiple products

As I have been a coles customer for many years, I am just letting you know that I am moving to Aldi. I spend about $200-300 per week on groceries, but have had enough of Coles and woolworths ripping us off. They get you to buy products and then they are off the shelf after you get used to using them. I also buy chicken sausages at $5.90, and go in this week to find out that the price has increased, but not only that the size is smaller. They now work out about $16.00 per kilo. How much do you keep having to rip off the public? Prices Don't have to be put up like that, think about your customers for a change and not your profits. I have had enough of it. The quicker other supermarkets come to Australia, and knock you people of your perch the better. You also rip us off with the petrol as your price is always 5-6 cents above everyone else. You have taken enough money off me over the years but it will now end. I hope many more people are thinking the same. Thanks Disgruntled shopper

Coles Supermarkets Australia rude customer service

Thursday 29th October 20115. 0640 Hastings. I went to the service to enquire about getting a raincheck. I stood in front of Jennifer as she was writing. I waited as I didnt want to be rude and interupt her. When she finished she looked up looked around and put her head back down not even acknowledging me. She started writing again so I asked if there was any chance I could get a rain check. She abruptley said What for. I told her I would like some Exite Lynx spray as there wasnt any on the shelf or on the promotional stand. She rolled her eyes at me and walked off to the stand with a huff as she left. As there wasnt any as I had already told her she went to go to the aisle which again told her there wasnt any in the aisle. She went back behind the desk and got out the raincheck and proceeded to write it out. She asked me how many I wanted I said 12 please she answered rudely with well you cant you can have 6. This woman has no cutomer skills at all. I dont know how she has a job. In all the years I have been going to the store I have never seen her even smile. I asked Sue on the checkouts to speak to the manager about Jennifer but she said it was a new manager and didnt know his name. I also work in customer service and I would never be so rude to a customer. Please let me know the outcome of this complaint.

Coles Supermarkets Australia rude, arrogant & racist customer service

Tonight 10 pm on 26 October 2015 been to Coles super market Casula, Sydney to buy a 3 Liter Milk with other groceries, I know the price $3.99 but one staff came to me and told price is &4.99, she asked another staff and said price is $4.99, then my wife gone the shelf & took the photo of price tag is $3.99, then I asked why you gave wrong information, then manager named Ross came and shouting me why I asked her about this, he did not listen to me, as a customer I has right to say my complain but he was trying to save his team member& shouting in front of all customer and asked the security to leave the store! I think it happened because we are brown skin that is why no one listen or resist that worst behavior ever faced in Australia! if Coles want to varify this matter they can check with CCTV, after this I will never go to Coles and ask all my community people to avoid coles for rude, racist customer service.

Coles Supermarkets Australia self checkout

Maylands Store Western Australia. Self Check-out area is manned by a blonde british lady who missed her calling as a drill sergeant. When I unknowingly placed my backpack in the bagging area (negating its ability to function) she rectified the situation by picking it up and throwing it on the ground. Glad i wasn't carrying my Ipad that day as I often do. Hung around for another five minutes after my transaction and to watch her be generally demeaning and obnoxious to everyone else she interacted with. She needs to be relocated to an area that is less exposed to the public.

Coles Supermarkets Australia service woman

This morning Saturday 24/10/15 I was in the checkout behind a woman who had a trolley full of groceries. I was next to be served. A couple came up behind me, they were third in line. A Service Woman came up and asked the couple behind me to come up to a newly opened register. Surely you ask the person who has been waiting there the longest to come up to the other register. Not the first time this has happened to me in Coles. I think I'll go back to Foodworks. Not impressed.

Coles Supermarkets Australia butcher / meat section

20/10/15 - went to the meat section of coles where they have a lovely display cabinet with massive steaks available for purchase. The male staff member was very put out that I requested the biggest rib on the bone from the display cabinet and told me to get one that was already packaged. I was also buying a much smaller eye fillet of which I had to get from the display cabinet. He huffed and he puffed and finally gave me what I had requested. 23/10/15 - went to the meat section of Coles again (not really sure why they bother to have the display cabinet when they clearly do not want to sell the meat from here) same male cracked it at me and told me to get pre-packaged they are much fresher apparently. I requested 3 very large rib eye on the bone from his cabinet and again with much fuss I finally received them as well as another eye fillet. So in one week I would of spent at least $100 from Coles Toowong on steak only to be told that the meat in the display cabinet is not fresh and was made to feel like I was bothering the staff member. Get your act together Coles I have told so many people about your awesome new Toowong store and after this week will just go to the local butcher where they are happy to sell me the finest cuts of meat!

Coles Supermarkets Australia customer service

This happened on [protected] around 1820hrs. Castle plaza edwardstown south australia I was finalising my purchase on self serve checkout... Done the scanning, unfortunately one of the items brocade was torn apart therefore it didn't scan. I called staff member to help she came and did try to scan I told her the barcode is torn. Aah she realize and she advise me that I have to type in the numbers if bar code doesnot, then drop thr item andwent back where she was standing and chatting with her co worker, I called her back and and requested if she coud enter the bar code numbers for me cause I am holding 11 month old baby screaming. She advised me this is self service machine therefore I will have to do it myself. I was like omg. She went back to her spot standing and back to her convo. All right I told my daughter who was holding shopping bag she cant have that for lunch tomorrow in school. Finished shopping left the item and went to the lady and softly asked her,, excuse me u saw I am with screaming baby and you didnt bother helping me,,, her reply was its a self service check out so,,,, I am asking to myself why is the lady there standing if its a self serve, and try to tell me its a self serve until I walk through half a shopping centre. I felt very bad with that store and service. I felt I wasted my hard earned 30 dollar. If I could I would like to talk to their customer service manager.

Coles Supermarkets Australia coles online modifying order catch

After spending two hours going through the online specials on Tuesday the 13th October at 8pm I had processed my order and received a confirmation email (Delivery order #[protected]). Several things about the online ordering system frustrated me: 1) The specials were often duplicated and so I gave up searching all the pages. 2) The next available delivery time was Friday 10am-midday which compared to Woolworths who have been able to deliver the next day was a bit of a while. 3) The delivery fee was meant to be free for your first delivery but then I found out in the fine print that this offer was only if you had it delivered on Wednesday or had a coles Mastercard. Seeing as the former was not an option I felt this was rather deceiving. After seeing that 4) the blueberries came to $13.96 for 2 ($55.84 per 1Kg) which I thought when purchasing them were like 2 for $6, I had to modify my order. A similar happened with my tissues when it was meant to be 2 for $5 but this wasn't calculated so. The next day I went online and attempted to take off the blueberries. 5) I suddenly realised that my bill total had gone from something like $170 to $220.47! I didn't understand why and so chose to close the browser and any modification to the order in the fear that I did not want to lose my savings. At 2pm today (16 Oct 2015) when I had waited at home an extra two hours than predicted for my order to be delivered it had not come. So, I rang the Coles number and they said my order had not been processed, 6) despite me having received a confirmation email! They explained that because I went to modify my order it had gone back into the shopping basket. 7) Then when I asked why my order price had gone up, they said that because I wanted to modify it the next day (after the week's specials had finished) all my items had returned to their original price. I expressed that there was no disclaimer stating that I may lose my secured prices and asked when the next available delivery time would be. The answer was Sunday, two more days from now, yet already my fridge was pretty empty.8) I was disappointed that they couldn't do anything better than that seeing as I was not aware my order had been retracted. A resolution for these problems would be: 1) Not duplicate the specials online. 2) Put on more available times for delivery or offer discounted delivery fees for 2+ days 3) Allow all first deliveries to be free 4) Have the 'buy 2 of something' deals calculated as you go and not at the end of your purchase. 5) Keep all the prices the same as when I purchased them despite if I wish to delete an item through modifying my order. 6) Perhaps send a notification that my order had been put back into the shopping basket and that I need to 'check it out' again. 7) Provide a disclaimer that last week's specials will be gone if you modify your order. 8) Suggest putting my order as a priority so that I don't have to wait any longer, not being able to get groceries due to working tonight and all tomorrow. Additionally, an overall apology over the phone would have been good but I just received their policies and no personal empathy. From now on I always plan to shop online with Woolworths as their customer service is much more sympathetic and helpful.

Coles Supermarkets Australia bullying & harassment by my dept manager

When the store opened in 2013, everything was great, I'd not worked for coles before but was really enjoying my job with no complaints from management at all. Six months later we got a new dept manager and everything started going downhill from the first day she started. I was accused of not doing things the "coles way" and when I tried to stand up for myself I was shot down in flames. The second day she was there I spoke to the ASM about her & was told she was just settling in and to give her a chance. Well things just went to hell from there, 16 months later I had to resign and see a psychotherapist and am now on medication. The first time I saw my PT he rang the store got the run around when he tried to get through to HR. After I left his office the SM rang him and told him he would call me and he did 5 WEEKS after that initial contact with no offer of a dept or store move that would have kept me employed. I have kept a diary of some of the bullying & harassment. This is the first time I've been able to put pen to paper and as usual it has upset me again like it always does when I talk/think about it. I cant even go back into the store as I start to have an anxiety attack as soon as I do.

Coles Supermarkets Australia humiliation

On Wednesday the 7th of October, 2015 I placed an online order and paid with my card. The delivery to my home was to take place between 3pm and 9pm the following day. I checked the online tracking and it stated the delivery would be 8.46pm. This never changed by 915 I was on the phone asking about the delivery, I was given three different reasons as to why he was late. When the driver arrived he was a lovely man and the reason he was late had nothing to do with what I was told. Even though the consultant had "rang" the driver. Eventually the shopping was unloaded, to my shock the driver asked me to pay. He had paperwork saying the order was unpaid. I showed him the online order showing the payment with my card, We eventually rang online I spoke to a young man who pretty much completely embarrassed me. somehow my card had apparently declined even though there funds in the account. No one rang and told me or sent a text. The following day i rang and complained I was offered ten dollars and apology. I said I didn't want the ten. I asked for a team leader, I was also offered $15 and said no. I eventually rang back and spoke to a team leader who apologised. My order wrong, it came far later than it should and I was humiliated due to a fault within the Coles network. Sorry doesn't cut it. The operations manager is due to call. I hope she can empathize more.

Coles Supermarkets Australia too rude service

In the morning (around 9 am) of Sep.27, 2015, I found that 5 of 12 free-range chicken eggs were broken. All of them were broken at bottom and stuck on the package box. They all seemed perfect from top view if I do not take them out to checked one by one. So I brought them to the supermarket and asked for an exchange. A young lady at the reception fully understood the product defects and agreed to exchange one for me. I was happy and waited there with my 2 years old son. After quite a while, she brought the exchanged eggs. I found that the package was different and all the eggs were too small. I insisted to exchange the same eggs for me. She agreed and talked to the store manager. The store manager took a few more minutes to brought the eggs and directly threw it to the desk in front of my little son. It was too rude to take it. I could not believe what happened there and asked her that if this is the way you usually treat your customers. The store manager said that this is Sunday morning. I asked her name. She said "whatever" without any care. Importantly, that day is our Chinese traditional holiday (Mid-autumn day). It really ruined one of my biggest day of the year with her "Sunday morning". This was the most unpleasant experience with coles since i stayed with coles 6 years ago. Coles is always my family's favorite brand. Our car and house insurance all are from coles. But this time, I felt really really disappointed. I think that I deserve at least an apology from that store manager.

Coles Supermarkets Australia customer service on friday afternoon

Only 3 register open lines in excess of 4 customers on each and with a full trolley of food stuff I asked one of the girls if they could open up another register I was told i no uncertain terms that I would have to wait because there is a lack of staff, I the proceeded to tell her that I wanted to speak to the manager, the manager unknown to me was in the service desk and told me that I would have to wait, I then told her that that was ridiculous as there were plenty of staff on the floor just walking around and there were more staff working in the deli that weren't actually serving as well, plus there was staff stocking shelves that could have helped. I was made to look foolish for complaining as the staff were all laughing, I just had to leave my trolley there and walk out. I always shopped here previously and I am sorry to say that you have just lost a customer and the independents have gained one.

Coles Supermarkets Australia poor customer treatment.

Today (30/09/2015) my partner, toddler daughter and myself were doing our regular grocery shopping, at the usual store we go to. We have never stolen, and almost daily spend $40-60.

As we were finishing up scanning our items, my partner and I thought we would treat our daughter to a lollipop. Waiting for her to make her choice, I look up to notice that one of the workers is STILL watching JUST me and my family. Then as soon as we finished, she walked away and resumed working. (Connie, I think was her name. Short grey hair, large, glasses, looks like Elton John has been eating lemons)

I am an honest person, and I was highly offended to be watched as if I was some criminal.

I don't have a suggested resolution for today, I just thought I would stand up for myself and my family and this treatment, and hope the person responsible sees how their behaviour has been offence.

Coles Supermarkets Australia dine cat food advertised as 8 for $10.00

Shop at Coles Oakleigh every week always buy cat food, my complaint is the past 2 weeks they advertise dine cat food at the above price but what they do is spread across about three shelves and mix it with dine that is advertised at $1.04 per container or $1.08 so when you pick up the 8 for $10.00 deal inevitably pick up some of the expensive ones which creates chaos at the checkout and a very disgruntled customer.
I am tired of Coles doing this and think it is only fair that if you advertise a special they should all be together on the one or two shelves above and below each other not spread out ins some random manner designed to catch the customer out.
The customer should be able to purchase an special item without having to double and triple check everything and Coles should accept responsibility for their sloppy practices and shelf stacking which is very poor. I am really annoyed and seriously considering not shopping at Coles anymore, in fact I made the poor checkout person subtract all the tins off my docket. Come on Coles pick it up we the humble shopper help boost your profits so try and keep the customer in mind. Cris Chapman

PS I EXPECT A RESPONSE TO THIS COMPLAINT.

Coles Supermarkets Australia rotten crabs

I bought two Blue Swimmer Raw crabs at Bondi, Store No. is 0853, Receipt 9446, Sun 27 Sept at 6.41 pm. The price is $7.53.
I cooked them at about 9 pm and there was a strong pungent smelly odor from the crabs. Both of them tasted creamy, did not like normal crab. I just took a small bite, felt uncomfortable in the morning of the second day, and made an appointment of GP.

I have been purchasing Kailis Brothers Whiting for a few years from the Dunsborough Store with great satisfaction.
A few weeks ago I purchased a pack well in date and was very dissatisfied with the fishy aftertaste of definitely not fresh fish.
Hoping it was a one off we had a new batch tonight with the same result.
We are really disappointed that the quality has slipped.
Hopefully you can investigate as we will not buy again unless something is done.
Thanks Geoff Hayes

Opened a can of Coles sundried tomato and rosemary tuna today for lunch to discover two live baby cockroaches swimming around in the top of the tuna. Was sitting in a staff room with 30 other staff at the time needless to say none of us will ever be buying Coles tuna again.
