We stayed at the Melia Caribe Tropical in the Dominican Republic. They are complete frauds filled with lies. What they tell you and show you in person is not what your membership benefits say and what the contract says. On our last day we had to go to the sales office and ask for a copy of all the paperwork and the contract itself to read and keep for records. The day that we bought into it they gave us a USB drive that held our benefits and how to use the program.Along with "vouchers" for excursions and a weeks "free" vacation at the Paradisus in the Dominican Republic. Upon reading we saw that we only had 5 days to opt out if we wanted after a 7 day stay. As soon as we signed in they send you to one of these salesmen to set up a "breakfast meeting" with no obligations. They are knocking at your door ready for you and do not take no for an answer. They have a bar inside which they use to their advantage as well to paint a prettier picture. We immediately tried to cancel our contract but they were very persistent that after 5 days it is out of their hands and they have no further information for you but to try contacting customer service on their website. They also forget to mention that it is not an "all inclusive" and can be up to $200 per person, per DAY depending on what package you would buy I suppose. What was a beautiful and perfect vacation has been nothing but a nightmare since we got home and realized what huge mistake we had made. If anyone has had ANY luck at all in being able to contact anyone that can get us out of this would be so greatly appreciated.
