I cancelled my service on May 6, 2009. I RELUCTANTLY accepted the fact that Cleartel does NOT pro-rate service, so I would still have to pay for the balance of May. Interestingly -- OTHER phone carriers only bill you for the period you use their services.

I had been making my payments via electronic funds transfer -- but having cancelled the service on MAY 6, advised them that I would send a CHECK for the final payment. Well lo and behold, when JUNE 6 came, they took the payment from my checking account. Meanwhile -- I sent a check for the final payment. NOW THE FUN REALLY BEGAN.

They sent me a CREDIT invoice in the mail. HMM no good to me since I no longer use their service.

Accepting the fact that MISTAKES DO HAPPEN, I called Customer Service only to be told that IF I want a refund (WHY WOULDN'T I?) they would have to REQUEST it from the billing department AND that would take 6-10 weeks. The IRS is faster than THAT.

I asked to speak to a Manager, was put on HOLD and then a RECORDING came on telling me to leave my name and number and someone would get back to me. I can hardly wait to see how long THAT WILL TAKE. The wait is OVER. I sent this complaint in YESTERDAY but held off finalizing it in hopes that I would get the promised call-back. It NEVER CAME. Not yesterday, not today -- and it will most probably NEVER come.

I find it APPALLING that a company would take a double payment TWO DAYS APART but REFUND the overpayment MONTHS later. My only CONSOLATION is that I no longer use their services!!!
