Clear Wireless InternetCancelled -- low speed; continued billing after cancellation


Tried wireless service, Northern Virginia.
First modem defective, Clear sent replacement quickly, which worked, but network is third the speed of Comcast with $8/month savings (100 vs 300K up, 300 down vs. 1000). So called and cancelled within first week. Returned the model at my expense and have Postal Service return receipt.
Next monthly charged appeared, none the less, on credit card. Clear claims no record of cancellation, but claims to be working the problem -- multiple departments, etc. etc. In the meanwhile, getting a replacement credit card with new number. I was not prudent to have offered a credit card number without having first checked sites like this.
By the way, Clear doesn't, as it claims, provide email addresses, instead offers three Gmail accounts with associated surveillance.
