clear wire / Throttling
I am a Clear subscriber in Texas. For about the last month, between 7:30 - 8:00 pm and 12 midnight my internet connection has slowed. I did a speed test at Speedtest.com and I was getting .o4mbps.
I have Netflix and a Roku player. I bought both so that I didn't have to get satallite or cable. Without steaming I was getting 5MBps, with streaming .04mbps. I called Clear to inquire about the problem and jokingly asked if they were throttling me, The lady said yes they were. Apparently, according to her, they have signed up customers faster than they can build towers, I explained to her how very sorry I am for their inconvenience, but I am a paying customer, and has been, so I asked to have the trottling removed, she said they can't, it's automated.
