CitiFinancial Servicing Scam, beware

We have been living in a home that was given to us after my in laws died in teste. A brother in law said he had power of attorney, well he stole all our money then we had to come up with 7500 for legal fees. this was the only time citifinancial later citimortgage talked to us. They said we could stay in the home till such time as we could afford probate We have tried for over 3 yrs to get to talk to anyone at that bank. All info was only allowed to go through Vincent (in law)The bank then told him to sign overpower of attorney to my husband Joseph so we could deal with the bank.It never happened as there was no executor, no power of attorney nothing. When there was a discrepancy they called Vincent not us. This was our home our money and they were giving himn our personal banking information.

I tried to work with research in the bank, sending cancelled checks and such to show we were not in default, they sent a letter to my deceased mother in law stating they had mistakenly not posted 2 payments and they would. When I called back when it did not show, m they said call Vincent. I then sent copies of certified checks from the bank, including an extra payment we paid in Dec just for the dimple fact that I am very ill and stress kills my immune system making me much more ill. I called, they said call Vincent. No one will work with me, they said we owe 6 months payments according to what they told Vincent which is a lie and none of his business. Now finally someone told me that even if there had been a simplepower of attorney it would die with the person. So now we have answered the banks foreclosure asking for a jury trial and also notified them they violated our rights.

We need a lawyer that will help us file a civil suit for bad business practice. Giving out personal banking info without any written consent. Calling myself a liar stating Vincent had the power of attorney.

Putting my husband and myself under great stress emotionally for my husband, physically and emotionally for me, my health has declined horrible the past 3 yrs. The autoimmune disease I have reacts directly to stress.I have become so upset and such physical pain, i had to call the suicide hot-line, I just wanted all this to end. I and my husband are good Christian people who do not lie, cheat or deceive.

end of story we need to file a civil law suit based on illegal practices, pain and suffering, and causing us directly due to there false practices of not crediting our account, has now put us inforeclosure, which is not true, I need a to find a lawyer to help. i don't travel as I cannot sit for long, I cannot drive and the pain is too bad. I use a walker and wheelchair. I am only 54 but since dealing with this co that I see has allot of complaints against them we need help.

Sounds like the problem is with Vincent, not Citi. If your in-laws died intestate, and he had power of attorney, then by law Citi can only talk to him. You definitely should get a lawyer so that he can explain to you the difference between bad business practices and following the law.

CitiFinancial Servicing My loan was bought by rude co!

I purchased my car from Citifinancial Auto 2 1/2 years ago. I have made every payment on time since then. Last month I lost my job & called Citifinancial Auto to ask for a deferral. I was told I would be sent something by fax. I waited for over 4 hours and never received anything. I called again and requested it again. I was told I should receive it within an hour. Two hours later - nothing. I called the next day & was told that I had to wait until AFTER my payment was due & ask for lower payments for 6 months to help me out. I called 2 days after my payment was due & was told my loan had been sold and the new company Santander in DFW did not offer this service. Now I am 21 days late & am receiving calls 2-3 times per day as well as my husband 2-3 times day. I have never received anything from Citifinancial Auto telling me that this change has occurred. I cannot even get in touch with Citifinancial because when I call I get redirected to the new harrassing loan company. Anybody got a class action lawsuit for harrassment going on out there yet?

well this is just an update...i still have not received that blasted payoff note i requested over 3months ago. i get calls night and day even if my account is one dang day late...hello isnt there a grace period of like 15days, stupid witch stop calling. anyhow, i understand that maybe this is the job of whoever is calling to sit there and wait to dial my number but seriously is it a requirement to be the most hateful person to be a collector for this stupid company...i know for a fact that it is not actually ok to demand payments like this company does ( i actually work for a call center for a collections company so i know that there are certain laws that have to be followed. so i dont understand how this company can and does get away with all it does...makes me sick. ) but i am hoping to refinance my loan very shortly with another more reliable company. oh yes and to the "do not give them your banking information" i seriously totally agree. and if you send them a check that is postdated for a later date i would not suggest sending it before you know you have the money in the account because they will send it through on the date they receive it and it doesnt matter if the date was for 2weeks later than they received it.somehow they are able to make it pass through the banking systems to draft.BE VERY VERY CAREFUL WITH YOUR BANKING INFO AS THEY WILL FUDGE UP YOUR BANKING ACCOUNT AND THEN THEY ARE NOT LIABLE.

Please note everyone! Santander is a COLLECTION AGENCY
I have not been able to find any way to use that company to finance anything.
DO NOT give them a right to make automatic withdraws from checking, savings, etc... They might clean you out and collections agencies seem to get away with too many things.

Wow I am so glad to see I'm not alone on this - I mean dont get me wrong I'm sorry we all have to go through this but its good to know I'm not alone. I'm in the same boat that nobody has notified me what is going on with CitiFinancial or that Santander took over and why did they take over. I just started getting calls that I owe them money and I'm late etc. Now how is it that I wasn't late w/ CitiFinancial but I'm late w/ them? I asked them numerous times to send me invoice or bill in the mail and finally now I get it but between the time I get the bill I get I dont know how many calls from them. When i do talk to them they are rude and when I question something they dont understand why I'm upset or what I mean that they are rude the way they talk to me. I just dont understand how can a company be the way they are and get away with it. Then again maybe its in their name "Satan"der . They should of given all of us notice that they are taking over and option for us to stay or leave or something like that. I still dont get why or how can they get away w/ being so freakin' rude to us over the phone or heck even if you contact them on line they are just as rude. I did that once did a live chat and that person was so rude and HE ended up hanging up on me. (yet nothing was resolved) when I called back of course the next person was just "i 'm sorry this and that" but still no help. I used to pay on line or over the phone w/ NO FEE w/ CitiFinancial now you can't do that and why not? How can they use the same sevice but they charge you for it? I can just go on and on w/ my frustration w/ them but it wont do us any good will it? :( hope they will be brought out by someone else ASAP.

i am so pissed.i get calls all day long on both my listed home phone and my unlisted cell.the calls are so crappy.they dont even bother to leave messages anymore they just sit there breathing in the phone.i did receive the letter that santander would be servicing my loans from whenever on but of course was given no options on whether i wanted to move my loan to be refinanced by another company.when i called to get info from santander the woman was consistantly rude to me.she basically treated me like a piece of crap.she basically told me i was stupid and didnt know what i was talking about.i was informed that from now on if i wanted to make a payment on my account that i would have to pay extra everytime no exceptions.then she said that it was the same as when i paid at citi.when i told her that i never paid an extra fee to make my payments over the phone she called me a liar and said there was no way for me to make my payments unless i paid the extra processing fee.she told me that even if i were to pay online i would still pay the extra.so with her being so rude and i dont just even have an extra $12 to pay out more to them i told her i would overnight whatever payment.this woman actually got more rude and said i would have to pay more to overnight it, to which i told her that i would rather pay the postal services to mail my payment with a freaking smile than to pay one more cent to her smart crack.so now i have to mail my freaking payments everytime rather than having them automatically removed from my account when i call it in or schedule it online.also i requested a payoff on this note and i was told that i could just go online and look it up to which i asked for it to be mailed and i never received this payoff and i could not access it online either.i also inquired on making additional payment toward the principal balance and was told any additional payments i made would just be applied as regular payment.which by the way means that they apply like $100 to the balance and take the rest.that is such crap.shouldnt extra payment i make go to what i want them to?i have 18 more months on this loan before it matures and i cant wait.i will not get a car payment loan again due to the amount of frustration and crap this has caused for me.

I also had a loan with Citifinancial Auto. I had gotten behind on my payments due to unemployment. My husband finally got a good paying job so we were in the position to get caught up slowly. Citi told me that if I would pay 1 regular payment, then I could make a payment every 2 weeks until I got caught up. I made the 1st of 3 payments and then 2 weeks later when I called back to pay the 2nd payment, it redirected me to Santander. I had not received any notice that they were switching. They were telling me that I had to pay the total amount I owed that day or they would come repo it the next day. I owed $255 for the 2nd payment, $255 for the 3rd payment and $105 for the late charges totaling $615. When I told them that I had arrangements already set up with Citi, they said that although Citi still owned my loan, Santander was servicing it and they could do what ever they wanted and didn't have to keep previous arrangements I had made with Citi.

I have/had an auto loan with CitiFinancal Auto...Have not received a statement from them since September. Mailed a payment, using a copy of an old statement and it was returned to me. Now I have this company Santander calling my cell phone non-stop. I didn't know they bought out CitiFinancial Auto! Received NO notification. Not knowing who these people were, of course I have ignored their phone calls. Guess now I will have to deal with them! Frustrating how these companies can just sell loans and information to any other company without notifying the customer!

Because of my current financial situation, I had a new loan amount negotiated with Citi-Auto to lower the payment of my car from $497.00 to $298.00. I requested that amount be a permanent payment, and never heard otherwise. I made my payment of $298.00 since that agreement. When I got a letter from Santander, they sounded like a credit collection company. They had a large amount of money listed as what I owed, and it seemed like they were a collection agency collecting on a debt of that amount. Citi-Auto made it sound like I hadn't made a payment since May! How could that even be? My car would have been repo'd a long time ago! Now I am finding out Citi-Auto sold my loan to Santander, and didn't supply them with accurate information. My car is a 2005, has body damage, has repairs needed, and is worth a fraction of the loan. I can no longer afford a loan amount of $497.00, and I think it was unfair to sell my loan to another company, and completely ignore many payments I had made to Citi-Auto. Frankly, to get rid of these HIDEOUS AUTO-LOAN COMPANIES, I WOULD BE HAPPY TO HAVE THEM TAKE BACK THE CAR! THE ABUSE FROM CITI-AUTO, AND NOW SANTANDER, HAS BEEN ENORMOUS, AND I AM SICK OF IT!

Lawsuits Santander - first off Santander is one of the worst companies for customer service I have ever heard of. if you can refinance or trade in your vehicle do so so that these guys dont make any money off your loan. That being said, Santander or any other finance company is under NO LEGAL OBLIGATION to offer any type of payment assistance. Your contract is the only guarantee and is the final word. As for the alleged harassment, its very difficult to prove. I work in collections for a agency for a living (I am a professional and do NOT condone any violations of FDCPA). FDCPA and the associated state laws only apply to third party collectors. First party collections is not governed by FDCPA. If Santander OWNS the paper then they can call you basically whenever and as often as they like as long as it doesnt violate other criminal harassment statutes (like calling at 3am and threatening to cause bodily harm). If Santander simply SERVICES the loan and the loan is still owned by Citi then FDCPA applies in its entirety. Under FDCPA I know that they are allowed to speak with you ONLY ONCE per day regarding the debt. It gets tricky as they ARE permitted to contact you again in the same day if they believe (and can back it up) that you gave them inaccurate, incorrect, or false information. They can also contact you again if you request it. If they do not speak with you they can continue to call as much as six to nine times per day, every day, until contact is established...although the
law is vague and does not give a quantitative limit. Based on what i've read above, you are not being harassed as such...although you could argue it's not the best use of resources at 21 days past due. You are not able to reach anyone at CitiFinancial Auto largely because there isnt a Citifinancial Auto anymore. Finally, a class action lawsuit or any lawsuit would be fruitless unless you can prove Santander violated FDCPA. To do so, i suggest you record any and all calls with them although you generally must disclose this fact. To prevent collection calls, send a certifiedmcease and desist letter to Santander. Upon receipt of this they have to cease contact except by mail. Be advised however that these greatly increase the likelyhood of a lawsuit against you if you default on your contract. Plus, who knows, they might have something GOOD to say sometime down the road!

D-wise- I would do the same thing as you would regarding the legitamacy of Santander. You never know nowadays. What I would do is request validity of the debt, and have it sent to you via certified mail. You can also call CitiGroup itself (not citifinancial auto) and they should be able to confirm. From what Ive read the lawsuit talk is baseless and would just cost you a ton of money, destroy your credit (assuming you quit paying on the loan), and could result in a lawsuit aganst you for contract default. Santander sucks, dont give them any ammo to put you in a bad light.

CJB57- good info on FDCPA and for consumer rights. Bad idea on bankruptcy. Yeah you could file, but unless you are truly broke and pass the bk means test you wont be able to file for chapter 7. A chapter 13 is more likely, and in a chapter 13 you will still end up paying the same payment or lose the vehicle...and even if you lose it you will still have to pay towards any deficiency as the trustee sees fit. Even if you do qualify for a chapter 7, you will lose tge vehicle to reposession. Add that to thousands of dollars in attorney fees and the 10 year destruction of your credit and it all adds up to a very stupid decision taken just because you didnt get a letter on time. Cutting your nose off to spite your face is never a good call. Good info on FDCPA and especially on recording calls. Gotta keep them honest!

a wealth of info.
A debt collector CAN NOT….
Telephone you an unreasonable number of times
Contact you after written notification that you do not want to be contacted any further
Fair Debt Collection Practices Act is another place with good info.

I was with CitiFinancialAuto and they sent me nothing about the "sale".
I then had this person (Santander) calling and telling me that I need to pay them X$ for my auto. I queried as to who and what they are and how they have my info. I got the standard reply and told the caller until I see it in hard copy you won't get a dime. I finally rec'd the letter on 29 Sept 10 as to what is going on with CitiAuto etc...
I now have an acct # etc and the ways to pay.
I had seen a post on another website about this company, and the poster was 2 months ahead on his payments and still is being called to for the next payment.
If this is what we have to look forward to I think bankruptcy is a viable to this nonsense and harrasment.
PLEASE NOTE: have have several call centers from across the US, Canada and India. It will show several different names - ConsumerUSA, XO Interactive, Santander. If you don't answer the Santander calls they send it from another location e.g. [protected] Texas call, [protected] Ontario, Can call, they say they are doing a survey on Banking & Financial Institutions, 800-294-7691nameless, [protected] nameless, [protected], Quebec call about money,
Another thing you can do, is record your incoming calls from anyone you don’t recognize from caller ID say upon answering “This call may be recorded for accuracy of any and all financial dealings“

CitiFinancial Servicing Car payment

I have had a loan with Citi Financial for over 4 years now. they set me up on a automatic payment plan for 6 months. At the time they gave me a date of April 20th that would be the last payment due to them and then I would have to call them back to make arragements. Aafter callign them in April to fin out if the payment was going to be taken out and may, they told me that no there wer no more automatic payments wset up and that I would have to set one up for May or call my payment in. May approached, and not only did htey take the money of thge accoutn but it withdrew my account for 500 in fees. I spoke to over 20 differnt reps and managers, and 3 of the names I was given were later found to be falsified names. Their cusotmer service was horrible, they hung up on me after I was polite and explained my steroy over and over again 10 differnt people in the course of one phone call. they are horrible to deal with and they need to get American reps not foreigner who cant speak English.

CitiFinancial Servicing Status - written off

I am posting my complaint on this board as I came to know that Citifinancial has been closed. Is there somebody at Citbank who cares for the CitiFinancial Customers

Reference is made to the Personal loan Account with CitiFinancial Under Ref No. 7071288 closed long back.

I had taken above referred personal loan from your esteemed bank which got cleared in 2008. A final settlement letter for Rs. 1, 500/- was issued wherein it was mentioned that "Upon realization of entire payment the above account (No. 7071288) will stand closed". The complete payment was done in due course before the expiry of the validity of settlement letter. The letter and receipt of full and final payment is available and can be provided on request.

Now, I request the concerned authorities to kindly clear my Status (WRITTEN OFF) in CIBIL as it is still giving a Written off Status which is badly affecting my creditworthiness.

How can the status be Written off when the loan is completely paid for, settled and closed.

Hence, I humbly request the concerned authorities to kindly update the information in my CIBIL CIR account, as I already stated, it is badly affecting my credibility.

An early and favourable action in this matter is highly obliged as I have requested for a loan with some bank and the processing of the same is held up on the above mentioned grounds (Status - WRITTEN OFF).

Kindly do the needful at the earliest.

An early action in this matter is highly obliged.

Regards,

Anjali Sharma

CitiFinancial Servicing Fraud alert

Citi Financial made an automatic deduction from my checking account a week earlier than we agreed to which caused major overdraft penalties from my bank.

Up until July, my account had been set up as an auto deduct from my personal savings account on the 10th or 11th day of every month, which is the days the Citi customer service representative allowed me to choose when I initially set up my auto pay.

Unfortunately, being charged on the 10th or 11th day created a situation where late charges were showing up on my monthly Citi statement. I always followed up on these late charges with a phone call to Citi and was always told that it’s a computer generated error and not to worry about it. I was nervous that Citi was reporting me to the credit agencies for paying late every month. Since the computer system automatically sent me monthly statement showing late fees, I thought the same computer system could be mistakenly reporting me as being late, even though I was being told that I was technically not late until after the 15th of every month, so I would not be assessed any late charges from Citi.

After I made several calls on this matter over the last few months, I was told that the easiest way for me to resolve this error on my statement would be to switch my auto deduct date from the 10th or 11th to the 4th day of every month. Since I no longer wanted to see late fees on my statement, I agreed to change my due date to the 4th, although asked that the new date go into effect in September 2010 rather than August. Since I made my July payment on 7/11, I needed more than 24 days (from 7/11 to 8/4) to budget for my payment. I’m not in a financial position to make two payments within a 24 day period, although I was budgeting to do so for in September.

Note, I voluntarily switched the dates in which Citi was to deduct my payment. I switched the dates because of the advice a Citi representative gave me to resolve a continuing glitch on my monthly statement which was generated by Citi’s computer system and not from an error on my end. I agreed to switch my dates voluntarily with the understanding that the new date of the 4th would start in September rather than August. Unfortunately, the payment was taken from my account on the 4th of August, which was a week earlier than I was supposed to make a payment, which caused severe overdrafts to my personal checking account. The overdraft are now at the point where I could be facing a huge financial hardship and will have a negative balance in my checking account for at least 30 days from today if Citi cannot resolve this for me. I’ve called my bank (Citizens Bank) and they are not willing to help me with this matter and said it is clearly an issue I need to resolve with Citi Financial. I spoke to a local consumer protection group and an attorney for advice and they suggested I attempt to resolve this with Citi.

CitiFinancial Servicing Scam - redemption dept

I would just like to say that I am very frustrated with CItifinancial Auto. Unfortunately, due to the recession my husband lost his job and I have to provide all of the finances for the home, such as Car note, well I got behind and as I was making arrangements for them not to pick up my truck . they were actually outside picking it up. So now I have to go through the redemption dept to get it back, first of all let me tell you you will wait on the line for at least 3 or more hours which is absolutely unacceptable, and then when you fianally get through to a customer service rep, the phone hang up on you, so you have to call again. Well after finally getting through to someone we made arrangements for my car to be paid on the 31st of the month and I was supposed to call back with the reference number so that my car could be released, as arranged I completed that agreement. I called back the same day and I could not get through to anyone, in the meantime my vehicle is sitting on a lot accuring ridiculous fees ... So I keep calling day after day for them to release my car and nothing, so I finally called a manager in that dept. in which she never returned phone calls, voicemails or nothing.. so she contacts one of her reps and tell them to call me and tell me to stop calling her line and speak to a rep. in which I then informed her that I have beeb trying to call for 3 days and noone would answer my call. so what I am supposed to do I need my car back and released and soon as possible. so then she told me that I have another payment due on the 1st and that I needed to make that payment before they released my car... which was not the original agreement, if they had released my car on the day that was agreed 31st I would not have to go through this. So now I have to come up with another payment before a release is issued. I can tell you I am very mad... at this point... I told her that they are running schemes on people and they should be ashamed of themselves, I think that they deliberately not answer calls so that the people calling in will hang up and not get their cars back and they make more money off of people having a hard time... CITIFINANCIAL AUTO IS A SCAM COMPANY. They do not stick to the agreements that they make but they want you to pay them ... I am going to seek an attorney to help me with this because I am having to come up with extra money now since they waited for the date to pass to release my car back to me... If anyone is having any problems out of the redemption dept please Don't let them get you... They are very rude and sarcastic with customers. Then the customer service number says that it is nothing that they can do to help us. so they are the only ones that can take care of this problem. I am going to sue them and get all of my money back that they owe to me...

CitiFinancial Servicing Not customer friendly

I used Citifinancial for an auto loan which I have always made my onthly payments early and for more then the amount due. Never have I been late nor have I missed any payments. When I called to discuss possibly reducing my interest or refinancing for that purpose they thanked me for my excellent payment history and told me that was not an option. In addition the offered to lower my monthly payments by extending my loan. I informed the representative that I was not interested in giving them more money but trying to lower my interest rate, which would ultimately lower my monthly payments. Again the rep said changing my interest rate for a lower value was not option, but extending the loan was. So I promptly said "No Thank You", at which point the rep attempted to up-sell me on some other products and services. How repulsive!

CitiFinancial Servicing Would not take payment

have a loan with Citi Finincial

yes I am late on a payment I called and told them I would be late and why.

I set up the payment to be made today.

I went by and tried to make the payment Saturday and they would not take it said I had to pay the one that comes due August the 15th also.

they tell me I have to make two payments - not going to happen

I will go by the Camden S.C. branch today to try and make the payment again.

If the knuckleheads to not take the payment I will not ever attempt to make another payment to Citi Finincial. They can take all that OBAMA money and pay it off.

I asked if they could work with me so that I could get my car back. I was told no! I like in Michigan which has the highest unemployment in the country. If Idon't have a car, how will I get back and forth to work. Citi is the worse bank ever.

I know that I should pay, but you seems to be missing the point. How do you know that disability insurance was offered? I guess you don't watch much of the news to know that everyone is hurting in more ways than one. I just feel that companies should be more understanding of situations. Perhaps you haven't had situations that caused you to loose things in your life, if you did you would perhaps be alittle more understanding. Be careful about passing judgement, because you don't know what tomorrow may brings.

CitiFinancial Servicing Threats and lying

I called Citifinance to let them know that I would be late with my payment and found out that the promise I received early December 2009 to defer or waive a payment was not done. I was told that if I make a payment in the amount of $415 that I would be up to date after the deferrment went through. So, I am making payments thinking I am on time. Still thinking that I was only 1 payment in the hole when end of June came and I couldn't make the payment by the 25th I called them only to find out that I am due for May and June. It took several calls before getting someone to tell me that the deferment must not have happened. I received no notification that I was still due for 2 payments nor did I receive anything telling me that the deferment was rejected (which gives me the impression that they didn't give the deferment because they want more money--late fees, interest). I have never despised a company as much as I do Citifinance. In my opinion they are a predatory lender, leading to those that really didn't have the finances to support payments if something were to occur. While I feel that I do and have been paying them ok up until retirement, I am treated as a bad person. The people have attitudes that are consistent with the beliefs of Citifinance, treat people badly unless they are on time. I found 1 man who helped me but ended up having to call back several times. Suffice it to say, I am still considered past due 2 payments but will catch them up myself and never ask them to help me again when things are rough. They don't care about me or any other customer unless the customer is on time.

they are a bunch of low life ### that have no idea of what the other hand is saying, we got took on there lower your intrest rate scam, we have not been late on a house payment for the 10 years we have been here, our int rate was 7.5 we called about there new int rate, we sumitted all the paper they wanted, we checked back and they said they were sure we would qualify and our new payment would drop from 420.00 to 312.. and int would be 3.5 . and it would take 3-4 mo to iniate but be sure to make the 312. and not be late . we have always paid ins and taxes our selves, about 1000.00 for both . they said we had to open escrow .we did . after about 4mo we checked back, there still checking on it, then it started, we need 3mo bank statments, we complied, waited we called back, "were stilll checking" now we start getting peoples names and ids, we call again and again, were still checking. total 9m0 pased we still sind payment in to what they say .and now we have talked to over 35 different ###-h---- each one ruder .every one says some thing different .now we find out they take the escrow out and dont make payment s, so now they say we are behind 5000.00 in payments .a few mo ago they said we should be paying 575.00 and now they want 800.+ twice what we were paying .and get this there still working on the loan at low int . and that job has been passed on to at least 4 people the alwqays loose paper work we fax them, with some idoit standing there, on the phone while we fax it saying yes we have it .a week later they call and say they need it all again frigen idoits .and the frigen idoits send some body to the house once a mo to see if we still live here and charge us 30.00. and when we get aname of one of these stupid jerks and we call back to talk to them were told no such person works there . dont deal with these jerks, better off at a loan shark named bubba .

CitiFinancial Servicing Civil action

i have a personal loan through citifinancial. when i got this loan in august 2008, i added on the 'unemployment benefit', meaning if i were to lose my job, my loan would be paid for me after 31 days of unemployment. i made my loan payments on time in full up until october of 2009.

my husband and i had been through rolling lay offs at our jobs, and both of us had lost several hours every week at work. my loan office in york, pa offered a diffurment for five months, which i accepted as my household income had fallen drastically.

in march 2010, my husband was permanently laid off from his job, and with his unemployment benefits through the state of pa, he was making less than half of what he had been making per month. in addition, i received a 5% pay decrease which was company wide at my job, and with health care cost increases, i am bringing home nearly 200 less a month than i was a year ago.

in march 2010, i was under the impression that i was still covered in the five month payment diffurment. i was wrong. at the beginning of april 2010, i was contacted by my local loan office saying that i still owed 135 for my march payment. with my husband being unemployed, and barely making enough to pay our electric bill, i did not have the money.

in may 2010, i had been unable to make a payment for april or may. i talked to the citi agent i had always dealt with. i told her of my problems and why i was 2 months behind on my payments. she seemed sympathetic enough and again offered me a five month payment diffurment. that day, i told her that i had moved onto third shift, and that it was not okay to call me before 4pm. she actually stated 'so things have just gone from bad to worse?' she was fully aware that i am having a horrible time and cannot do more than i have tried. she made me do an over the phone post-dated check payment to be taken on may 21st. she then told me that she would contact me to let me know if the diffurment was approved by her home office, and that she would let me know after the payment on the 21st of may went through.

i never received anything after that. no phone calls to let me know what was going on, no monthly statements, nothing! until two days ago. i know a normal person would have went to the branch and inquired, but as i stated already, i work third shift. anybody who was ever made to do this without a choice can tell you that life is harder. you spend many hours in bed trying to sleep, and when you finally do, your day is gone. i explained this to my citi agent, as i said before.

two days ago, the constable showed up with a civil complaint from citifinancial. there is a court date set for july 19. they are demanding a judgement against me for 8, 000 plus 178.50 for legal fees. citifinancial filed this suite against me on june 14th, 2010. all because i am past due 3 months (april, may, and june).

i don't know what to do. i am afraid to call. my husband tried to call yesterday while i was alseep, and they were completely rude to him, refused to talk, and yelled at him. if anybody has any advice, please e-mail me!

Find yourself an attorney! we are in a similar situation with them. I am paying my accounts within 2-3 weeks of the due date but every month I get a cost to cure letter. It's BS. We have paid $15, 000 on a car loan that has paid off less than $100.00 in principle over 5 years. If you look at the laws in your area- they practice harassment. There are attorneys that will handle your case and collect from the settlement. Keep all of your records too. The corporate office doesn't even know what the branches are doing. One of my cost to cure letters came from the branch while corporate already had my payment.

CitiFinancial Servicing Harassment

in the past week my husband and I have had over 50 phone calls from citifinancial retail services, asking about a payment that I accidently forgot. My husband told them this past saturday 6/12/10, after about 3 calls that it will be paid on friday, 6/19/10, but they kept constantly calling. We told them that it is against the law to call again after we made arrangements. But they are constantly calling. I have caller ID and on saturday they called 5 times. Today they called 4 times on the home phone and 55 times on his cell. We are contacting our lawyer on this matter and will never deal with them again. We have a 2nd mortgage, and a personnal loan with citifinancial and they never harrass us like retail services does. They call once if we are late and that is it. Why do these idiots have to be so annoying. We will never deal with them again.

I opened an account to buy some furniture at 0% financing for 24 months. I didn't get a bill for about a month. I called them inquiring about it. They had my address wrong. I have called them 6 times to correct this! All they have to do is put my condo number on the present address. This will make sure I get the bill and it will not be delivered at another address making my payment late. The customer service reps I have talked to including a supervisor assured me the address had been corrected. Today, I got a duplicate bill with the wrong address on it! Luckily, the mail person delivering my mail wrote the correct condo number on the address. (thank goodness for compentent mail carriers) I have asked for a supervisor to call me. Seven days later, still no call from a supervisor. What are they trying to do? I think they want me to default on the payment so they can charge me the 25% intrest rate! NEVER, NEVER will I do buisness the citi again! The next payment that is due, I will pay it off and be done with this company!

CitiFinancial Servicing Unauthorized withdrawals

This company was authorized to take a monthly payment from my checking to pay on my loan and this month they went ahead and pulled 2. When I called them they proceeded to tell me that they had to investigate and that they could not put the payment back to the account even though I sent them proof that 2 payments went threw, because they thought the back was going to denie the transaction and then they would have given back 2 payments. Now I sit here waiting for my money to be returned so that I can pay my other obligations while they sit on my money.

CitiFinancial Servicing Title

We have just paid off our truck in full and are expecting to get the "free and clear" title. We have still not received the title. I called the customer service dept and spoke to someone named Mohamed. Obviously this person did not speak english (nor do the rest of them) very well, which made this 10 times worse that what it could have been.
I had mailed a cashier's check that was purchased from our bank. I wrote on the check that this is the finally pay off amount in full. When I asked where the title to our truck was, Mohamed informed me that we did not pay the truck off and that we refinanced through our bank. I stated that this was not true, and told him the amount that was on the check. He said that this is the pay off amount, and that the title was sent to the bank and gave me the address. I then proceeded to contact the bank and ask them if our title was there. The bank said that they did not receive the title and that they do no understand why they would have it anyway. There was no refinancing involved.
I contacted Citi back and asked for a supervisor. When he got on the line he told me that the title is still being sent to the bank and they would have to clear the lean. I informed him again that the check sent out was a pay off and there was no lean on the title. I again asked where and who had our truck title. He stated that he did not know and that we should wait 3 more business days, call the bank and get it from the bank. When I asked why they sent it to the bank to begin with, he said that the bank's address was on the check and that is why they got it. I asked if someone in Florida sent in a check and they happened to put my loan number on the check with their address, would they have gotten the title. I demanded to know why they did not use our address on file, he just stated that it is not their policy. I ended up furious and had to hang up on them.

On top of all this, they do not know simple math either. We did not owe as much as they said we did and it took almost month of calls to the customer service dept. and still they could not understand that 300 times 9 months only equalls 2, 700. Our payoff amount was over 3, 500. We just paid the amount to be done with this company. Dumby us, we know. Know we are still having to deal with them.

I STRONGELY ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS BANK.

Skybird, I suggest you call back and ask to speak to the Title Department (which is housed in Texas). Additionally, dependent upon the type of loan you have, your pay off balance is not the same as your principle balance. Your principle balance is what you owe, however, if you have a simple interest loan, you accumulate interest on a daily basis. If you were given a pay off quote, that amount was good for usually 10-15 days, which has the interest calculated in it.

Now, just because you pay $300 each month does not mean that $300 goes towards what you owe. Its first applied to interest, late fees, then principle balance. You accumulate interest on a daily basis and it starts the day after your last payment until the day your next payment posts to your account. So, if your daily per diem is $1.25 and you made your last payment 46 days ago, then you pay $1.25 x 45 days, which equals $56.25 in interest accumulated. And if you have any late fees (payments after 10 days of the due date) of say $10, that is also deducted. So, if you pay $300, once these items are deducted, you only have $233.75 of your payment applied to your actual balance.

Its important for us to educate our says financially so we can understand the commitments we are making...wish you well.

THIS COMPANY IS AT THE TOP OF THE CAUSE OF THE GLOBAL CRISIS. IT UNDERWRITES LOANS THAT KILL THE PUBLIC AND TAKE ALL THEIR MONEY THROUGH CREDIT CARDS AND LOANS OF DEATH FOR HOMES ! "MORREIR" "MORTE"...MEAING YOU WILL PAY UNTIL YOU DIE!CITI CARES ONLY ABOUT MONEY AND WOULD SLICE ANYONE'S THROAT FOR A DIME.! IT PAYS PEOPLE SALARIES TO DESTROY YOU EVERYDAY! IT ALSO LOVES TO HARASS VETERANS WHO ARE DISABLED. IF IT COULD IT WOULD SEND REPS OUT TO ALL THE VA HOSPITALS AND WALK RIGHT INTO THE ROOMS DEMANDING PAYMENTS AND THEN DISCONNECT THE AIR SUPPLY FOR THE FAMILY TO CLEAN UP THE LEFT OVER MESS WITH ABSOLUTELY NO REMORSE .AS A LARGE POWERFUL COMPANY, ...IT PRIDES ITSELF ON THE FACT THAT IT IS SO BIG AND POWERFUL AND THE CUSTOMER IS SO SMALL AND EASILY CRUSHED. IT UNDERWRITES LOANS AND EATS OTHER LOANS THAT THE COMPANY KNOWS WILL NEVER BE PAID OFF EASILY. THEY USE INTEREST AND PENALTIES TO CALL YOU ON THE PHONE AND DRIVE YOU INTO SUBMISSION SO THAT YOU GIVE UP AND THEY TAKE YOUR CAR, ...NEVER GIVING YOU THE TITLE... SO THAT THEY CAN SELL IT AT A RATE HIGHER THAN YOU ARE ABLE TO PAY.! THE PRESIDENT WOULD BE AMAZED AT THIS SHARK FAT CAT! THEY COULD CARE LESS ABOUT THE FACT THAT YOU ARE OUT OF WORK OR SICK. THE DOLLAR BILL COMES FIRST BEFORE PEOPLE. THIS COMPANY IS PART OF THE LARGEST FINANCIAL COMPANY IN THE WORLD WHOSE SOLE PURPOSE IS TO SLAY THE AMERICAN PUBLIC AND LEAVE ALL DEAD WITH MONEY IN THEIR POCKET CALLING THEMSELVES SUCCESSFUL. THEY HIRE "MINORITIES " TO HAGGLE PEOPLE ON THE PHONE -ESPECIALLY BLACK FEMALES- USING THEM AS PUPPETS OR YOUNG MALES OF ANY RACE TO BULLY THE CRUSHED CLIENT INTO SUBMISSION. THEY MISUSE THE PURPOSE OF INTEREST. WHAT THEY COULD DO IS INVEST 50% OF THE INTEREST INTO A FIXED ANNUITY AND SAVINGS BOND FOR THE CLIENT ON THE CAR PAYMENT AND THE OTHER 50% WOULD GO TO THE COMPANY SO THAT BOTH THE CLIENT AND THE COMPANY COULD MAKE MONEY ON THE INTEREST PAYMENT AND IF THE CLIENT WERE TO FALL BEHIND IN PAYMENT THEN THE REDEMPTION OF THE EARNED CAPITOL COULD BE USED TO PAY BACK THE ARREARS FOR THE CLIENT TO THE LOAN ON THE CAR. BUT WILL CITI DO THIS ?NO! AND WHY ?! BECAUSE IT WOULD MEAN THEY CANNOT COLLECT ALL THE MONEY FOR THEMSELVES ! IT WOULD MEAN THAT THEY CANNOT KEEP A SLAVE OUT OF THE CLIENT AND FLEX THEIR ECONOMIC CORPORATE MUSCLES OVER YOU. THIS WOULD NOT BE GOOD FOR THE CORPORATE EGO TO HUMBLE THEMSELVES AND ACTUALLY DO A GOOD THING. IT MAKES TOO MUCH SENSE AND IS NOT SOPHISTICATED ENOUGH ! WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE KGB AND A CITI FINANCIAL AUTO AGENT...NOTHING!COULD IT BE THAT CITI IS MASTERMINDED BY ALQUEADA? AND THAT THE PLAN TO UNDO THE AMERICAN PUBLIC BY LISCIVIOUSLY DESIGNED LOAN S AND PRACTICES THAT DESTROY THE AMERICAN PUBLIC IS SO POWERFULLY EFFECTIVE OVER TIME? ARE THEY STILL STANDING?/ARE PEOPLE MANAGING TO PAY OFF THEIR CARS OR ARE THERE LARGE NUMBERS OF REPOSSESSIONS? WHO IS TEACHING PEOPLE THE RULE OF 72 SO THAT THE PUBLIC KNOWS HOW TO GROW THEIR MONEY? IS CITI DOING IT? HOW ABOUT PRIMERICA? ARE THEY PLANNING TO STAY WITH CITI BECAUSE CITI DOES SUCH A GREAT JOB FOR THE PUBLIC? OR IS PRIMERICA...THE MAJOR MARKETING ARM FOR CITI LEAVING CITI BECAUSE THE COMPANY IS TOO BIG TO SEE ITS OWN CORRUPTION AND GREED AND DESTRUCTION OF THE USA BY ITS SELFISH ATTACK ON THE LITTLE CONSUMER ? WITH A SIMPLE STROKE OF THE PEN YOU ARE SENTENCED TO DEATH FINANCIALLY AND THEY TAKE YOUR POSSESSIONS AND ALL YOUR INCOME LEAVING YOU DEAD ON THE ROADSIDE WITH MONEY IN THEIR POCKETS WHILE ALL OF EUROPE AND ASIA ARE WATCHING THIS HUGE COMPANY PUT OUR WHOLE NATION INTO A SPIN AND TAKING AWAY ALL THE TRUST OF THE GLOBE AWAY FROM CONFIDENCE IN OUR MARKETS AND CURRENCY ! WHEN WILL CHINA AND THE EUROPEAN COMPANIES CALL CITI FINANCIAL AUTO AND START DEMANDING THEIR PAYMENTS AS THEY HAVE DONE TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ? WHEN WILL BE SERVED FOR THE PUBLIC? HOW LONG WILL THIS GOLIATH SLAY THE PUBLIC DAY AFTER DAY UNTIL THERE IS NOTHING LEFT OF THE STRUGGLING WORKER? RIGHT UNDER THE NOSE OF OUR GOVERNMENT CITI FINANCIAL AUTO CRUSHES THE AMERICAN STRUGGLING ECONOMY BULLYING PEOPLE ON THE PHONE AND SNATCHING THE POSSESSIONS UNTIL ALL EFFORTS TO RECOVER ARE FUTILE. THEY WOULD EVEN GO AS FAR AS HARASSING ALL MEDICALLY DISABLED PEOPLE IN THE MIDDLE OF ILLNESS OR A FUNERAL TO COLLECT THEIR MONEY ! THEY HAVE NO REGARD FOR HUMAN LIFE AT ALL! BUYER BEWARE OF THIS MONSTER IN THE MIDST OF THE COUNTRY LEACHING OFF THE PUBLIC LIKE A GIANT BLACK HOLE THAT BOASTS OF EVERY FINANCIAL KILL IT CAN GET ITS HANDS ON USING OUR OWN PEOPLE TO ACCOMPLISH IT IN THE NAME OF PROFITABLE BUSINESS !

I paid off my loan with Citi Auto Financial on November 5, 2009 with a cashiers check from my bank. The check cleared my financial institution on November 9, 2009. It is now January 24, 2010. I still do not have my title. I called numerous times and each time they said that it was in process and that I would have my title by regular mail that week each week I called. It was supposed to be in 7 to 10 business days. They were great during the duration of the loan, but they seem unwilling to release my title to me. I am about to contact an attnorney. Whether this speeds along the process or not, we will soon see. I will never deal with them again!

CitiFinancial Servicing Ruined my credit

I discovered another CitiFinancial account on my credit report and immediately reported this to Citi, this was back in October of 2009., they insisted that this was my loan, that I co-signed for it and that I probably forgot that I co-signed for $20, 000!. Not only has this increased my dept to income, but has made my credit score go down. When I disputed this loan, CitiFinancial still reports this as my loan, while there is an investigation in process. They don't care, why should they, they being the rude and unprofessional customer service reps, it's not there credit that's being ruined. They also changed my name on my own account to the co-signer of this erroneous account, when I called to find out why they did this and who gave them permission I got the usual answer "I don't know" then changed it back to my name, misspelled! I don't know where they get these reps from, oh yes I do, when you receive a call it's usually from a foreign country, like there are no unemployed people in the U.S.

I can relate once we were consolidating debts and they went and paid my sisters account off claiming it was my husbands as well. I ended up calling the corporate office and they had to send me back the money as the check was in my name and my name was not anywhere on it. They were not too impressed with me but i got almost 1000 of my money back

CitiFinancial Servicing Harresment and unprofessional

This company makes its money by taking advantage of the average people in this world who live like many people do, cheque to cheque. We pulled a 6, 000 dollar loan with Citifinancial almost 3 years ago when we were in the process of moving to a new town hours away. We new we were going to be short on cash due to the extra costs that seem to come up when selling, buying and moving to a new home. Citifinancial had been sending us "preapproved" loan letters for months, so we decided to take it. Ever since then we have been regretting ever borrowing money from this company, they have been nothing but rude and inconsiderate. One of the managers actually went as far as to HANG UP THE PHONE on me because he claimed that he could no longer help me, when all I was asking was why the balance on our loan was now more than we had orignally agreed on. They leave harrasing messages on our voice mail and make false accusations before even speaking to us. Now there is an additional charge that was added to our loan, and they can not explain why! I would not recomend that ANYONE take a loan with Citifinancial, it really is not worth the headache!

CitiFinancial Servicing Loan sharking

Citifinancial should be out of business. These people should also be charged with loan sharking..I made a payment of $273.00 which is the monthly payment and I just found out that $203.00 of it was applied to interest! In the past months I made payments totalling $1308.00 and out of this only $316.00 was applied to the actual loan! If Citifinancial comes a calling, run the other way! Don't doo business with these barbarians! You'll have you car, home, whatever held hostage until you pay off the bandits! $9000.00 interest on a $9000.00 loan!? These people need to burn in hell..They try to act like they are concerned until they steal your kidney without anesthesia!

Totally agree, they are ###. I paid this month ahead of time, actually had already paid 70 $ for June at the end of May and I just paid June due on the 20th and only 80 went to the principal, more than 300 to interest! For sure I'll never ever again get a loan from them.

I agree, Citifinancial should burn in hell. I to have a personal loan with then in which I just found out the whole payment of $166.00 is interest. Nothing, not a dime goes to the balance. What a ripoff. This should be illegal and they should be stopped and put out of business. Anyone thinking about using them, please, think twice, because you will be in debt forever!

They manage a lot of department store cards also and their rates are approaching 30%/year. They always offer an interest free or reduced interest period knowing that the individual will not pay it back in that time. When the year of interest free time is up, if you still owe even a penny they will ding you for all of the interest o the original borrowed amount.

CitiFinancial Servicing Reposession

I had fianced a car through citifiancial. I paid every payment on time for over a year. Then I enexpectedly lost my job due to governement cut backs. Citifiancial offered to put me on a program that would reduce my car payment for 6 months. After the third month a tow truck pulls in my driveway to reposess my vehicle. The tow truck driver told me I had to pay $2, 500. to keep my car. I called Citifiancial to straighten everything out. They told me they did not credit the account for the portion of the payment that Citifinancial was supposed to take care of. They appologized for the inconvenience and said they would have it straighted out. After more than 100 phone calls and hours of waiting on hold. They still ended up taking my car. This breach is breach of contract. They are now trying to sue me for $9, 000.00. I have spoke with an attorney and would like to begin a class action law suit. I there is anyone out there that was taken advantage of with this same program I would like to hear from you.

CitiFinancial Servicing Charging me for the wrong loan

I had a loan with Citifinancial for a motor cycle. I then took a refi loan with them to stop from losing my home because of Litton Loan. (Just look them up once!)

We combined the smaller loan with the home refi. 3 years later they arte saying that I need to pay the small loan because it wasn't paid up.

When we went in to the office, we signed two checks. One was to pay Litton and one was to pay Citi back for the smaller loan. Somehow they made several small payments to themselves and someone kept the rest. Now I owe the grand total of the 2 loans combined and extra for the one not paid.

CitiFinancial Servicing Misrepresentation/predatory lending

Going to try to make a long story short. We got a personal loan in 2007. We opted to have unemployment insurance on the loan, so certain portion of our payment included that insurance. Husband got laid off, insurance company paid for 12 months, things are tough right now like with everyone else. We got 2 weeks behind, and was told if we canceled the unemployment insurance, our payments would be lower, nothing would change with the loan ..we have 36 months left... So I go to the office in Medford, since the grants pass office is 30 miles away...not our idea, corporate tossed our account out there. So go to the Medford office to sign papers on the adjustment. Reading what I was going to sign, didnt happen, because nothing was adding up. We have unsecured loan, papers to sign talked about escrow and property. When I asked about it, was told ignore it, doesnt apply to what I was doing. I also noticed the payments were very low, too good to be true..how could our 218.00 payment go down to 139.00? Was told this adjusment was temporary only 5 months. I asked what would happen if we werent approved for another will our payments go back to original amount of 218? I was told yes. Then I asked what is the point? Here comes the we are doing you a favor line. We are here to help you out during these rough times. Its a little reprieve. I still didnt want to sign. I also noticed the end date of the loan would be 2019! when asked why it shows that, was told depending on how many adjustments you might need, it could take you out that far. I was still not buying it. Here comes oh we trusted you to sign this, we are doing this for you etc. I still wasnt budging. Then comes the stupid line. Why would you not do this? Its helping you out etc. I just dont understand why you wont sign this, we are here to help you, if it were me I would sign it. ( dist manager said this) He said he would sign it. I still wasnt budging. I asked him to give me 24hrs to think about it, discuss it with my mom, and dist mger said, it may not be available to you next time. He got so frustrated with me for not signing he said fine dont sign it. And i didnt. Luckily i have a copy of this document.
I said lets just leave everything alone not changing a thing. So now they had to reverse the adjustment basically cancel it out. I get on their web site to check our account history and you know what? They were so sure I would sign, they changed it to show, we redid the loan and it was now for 134 months! I was told I needed to sign papers basically saying, we didnt want the adjusment after all. I said nothing was signed, so nothing changed, why do I need to do that? come to find out someone else in an office told me i was right. So I check on their website again, and AGAIN they assumed I would sign and now the new loan is now 71 months not the original 60 months from 2007. I called office told them its still not right I check a few hours later and its still not right now it says 69 months. They tried to explain that away because we missed some payments, it was interest moved forward. Well 2 of those payments were from the insurance company who paid late, we should not be held accountable for that...the others were deferrments.
This is who I have complained too, bbb.org and then the governors office, and Federal Comp Controller of Currency..they are the feds making sure banks follow rules web site is helpwithmybank.com or .org. Getting documents ready for our attorney generals office. All complaint boards I can find I am reporting. Citifinancial is a predatory lending company and they need to be stopped! Not everyone listens to their gut, or really looks at loan documents like I did, and they know this and prey on your desperation to get you into their scheme of things. Dont be afraid to say no, let me think about it, and if they pressure you, then dont do it! the more they pressure, or guilt trips they put on you, dont give in! Its a huge sign, they are up to no good!

I agree Citifinancial is the worst when it comes to borrowing. Consulting with a lawyer to start law suit. documents indicated a loan for 7% but no money was ever applied to the principle.
