Cirque Du Soleil Gift Cards

Regardless of what you think of Cirque du Soleil, the Gift Cards make extremely poor gifts.
Evidently the gift cards are not issued nor redeemable directly by Cirque du Soleil (see link below) and are worth considerably less than face value. I found great seats available for less than the gift card value, then discovered the gift card could NOT be used to purchase them. For the same performance, the gift card website only showed seats available three sections back and would not even show what seats we would be getting. Big fail.
I just hope the person who gave me the gift card received at least a 50% discount or it was a complete ripoff.

Purchased two $100 gift cards at Costco for $80. Also found that you cannot redeem gift cards on cirquedusoleil.com. You must redeem these gift cards at cirquedusoleilgift.com and they find best available seats for you...you are unable to choose. ALSO, we received a promotional offer thru mail for $15 off select tickets which is only available thru the main cirquedusoleil.com site...where you cannot use the gift cards. Paid $192 for 3 cirque tix (best available) and $160 at Costco for $200 worth of gift cards...saved $32 in the long run...actually minus $8 b/c total wasn't $200...not worth it. If I would have known, would never have purchased gift cards.

I received two Cirque du Soleil gift cards for Christmas from my son. When I attempted to redeem them for tickets to Totem appearing in San Jose, CA this March I was unable to locate any performances of Totem at the redemption website. I called the redemption websites "customer service" department and all the representative would say is she could not locate performances for Totem on her computer system and simply left it at that. I then tried sending an email to their "customer service" department asking why Totem failed to appear on their computer system for gift card redemption's and, of course, after a week and a half still have yet to receive a response. In my opinion this is pretty close to qualifying as a scam as it was never disclosed to my son at time of purchase that the shows and performances for which the gift cards are redeemable are limited.

Cirque Du Soleil not honoring gift cards

I bought gift cards from Cirquedusoleil.com for my son and daughter-in-law's birthday so that they could see La Nouba in Orlando. I had been told on the phone they would accept gift cards for tickets. I made reservations and told them I had gift cards to use, they said okay. When my son and daughter-in-law showed up to pick up their tickets, they was told they do not honor Cirque du Soleil gift cards. They were not allowed in. Basically, I spent $150 on gift cards that are useless. DO NOT BUY any gift cards from Cirque du Soleil, regardless of what they may tell you on the phone. Once you show up, they won't honor them.

Actually, Cirque du Soleil did refund the money for the gift cards I ordered, after I spent a great deal of time complaining to Disney about it. So, I am now satisfied with the outcome. However, I've learned that buying gift cards to be used for tickets is just generally a BAD idea. Probably much better just calling the box office and getting tickets that way.

I purchased an egift card as a gift 2 days ago and still waiting.. why would an egift card take so long? Im beyond disappointed. Also the customer.service is horrible. Im still waiting and if I dont receive in the next day I will be filing a lawsuit. This is the worst customer sercice ever! Perla

My parents bought me a Cirque Du Soleil gift card for $200 but the truth is they are worth far less. I went to the regular cirque website where I found a deal for 20% off. Cirque Gift cards will not honor the 20% even though its on their website. They mark their tickets up so much that it is not even worth using the gift card for. I will instead be purchasing my tickets with out the gift card. They offer me the cheapest tickets in the nose bleeds for $263 total...or I found far better seats for $85 a person $170 a person. The manager Miranda is so rude. She constantly inter upped me but if I ever inter upped her she threatened to hang up on me. I asked if there are any shows that I could see that would not cost me more than my gift card she laughed and said no. I asked if she could refund my father. She said no. My father bought an online gift card and I asked if there is anyway that I could be sent the actual gift card instead of the online one and she once again refused. They don't want to help or work with anyone. They are only looking to charge you way more than the tickets are worth.

NEVER BUY CIRQUE DU SOLEIL GIFT CARDS!
First off they are not redeemable for your online regular ticket purchase...they assign you a seat when you redeem them online. The seats are the worst in the house if you arent paying for premium and again, they can't be used when you choose your seats. AND you get charged more for each ticket (there is a $15 convenience fee per ticket!).
For a $200.00 ticket, you'll lose money vs. just buying the ticket via their website, so again, does NOT make a good present.
