Church's Chicken - food poisoning

My 9 and 12 year old granddaughters are suffering a terrible case of food poisoning. They had fried chicken legs from Church's Chicken last night for dinner around 5:00 p.m. Within a few minutes, the youngest complained of a stomach ache followed by vomiting across the family room trying to get to the toilet. A little later the oldest was vomiting and...

Church's Chicken wrong food, bad customer service

Cashier T Davis 4305 at the Churches Chicken on Mansfield road in Shreveport, La Store # CHO703 who also prepare food; charge me for a mix 10 piece chicken dinner but prepared me a 10 piece legs and thigh. I got all the way home and start to prepare the table for family dinner, open box and notice that I did not redeem my purchased order. I went all the way back to the store only to be greeted with a rude attuide by the same cashier who prepared my food. She totally ignore me after I informed her that the order was incorrect. My pastor was just using this situation as an example of how God has redeem us from many things. And how important it is to know what you are redeeming for your money and what God has redeemed you from. I hope this young lady can later realize that everyone makes mistakes but avoid or ignoring them won't always make them go away.

Church's Chicken bad customer services

Today 01/ 03/ 09 I went to the chicken chicken at E Shelby Dr at Lamar Ave. (US 78) and ordered an order for two pc of chicken and a cup of water. The manager told me that they didn't give out cups of water, but will sell me a bottle of water. Ok first of all I've did this serval times at thiis Churches and every other resturant that I patronize. The thing that was upsetting is the fact that the manager was tell an employee about the request, laughing and bragging on what she told me on my request. I know that I am only one person but if we keep on adding up we will make waves.

Church's Chicken terrible service

I pulled into the Churchs chicken drive through in the evening. One other car was waiting at the window. I sat at the order board for a VERY long time. Noone took my order, I decided that when the car at the window left I would pull up to window and give them my order there...45 minutes later the car left. I pull up to the window and the lady at the window tells me that she cannot take my order there that I have to go back to the order board. I tell her that the order board does not work or I had been ignored. She becomes angry and tells me that she has been asking me what i would like to order for some time. I tell her obviously your board is broken. So she asks me what I would like...I tell her I wanted a chicken family pack, okra and maccaroni...she says...(lol) it will be about 35 minutes before the chicken is ready! I told her that I have already been waiting 45 minutes...she just shuts the window. I just drove off. NEVER again ...I refuse to eat there. I sent a complaint on their website and had no response...that says alot about their company when corporate doesn't care.

Church's Chicken nasty restaurant chain

You know, it's amazing. As a kid we would go to Church's Chicken and get a wonderful meal. Big, tasty pieces of chicken with rolls, apple pies and the likes. It is a shame what has happend to this Chain. I challenge anyone to walk inside of a Church's Chicken and not notice how unclean the place is, especially behind the counter. It's really pathetic. I submit the corporate suits don't really care about this chain as long as the profit arrows keep heading north.

I am not happy, with the way I was treated, by the manager or employee by the name Darreus. I ask for all legs and they told me that I could not get the order like that. I said, I'm willing to pay the differents, they still said no I can't get my order like that. I am a State Patrol Officer.

About thirty years ago I was a very successful store manager of a high volume Church's Chicken in Lawton, OK. We took a lot of pride in our operation and practiced, on a daily basis, quality people, product, and service. Why? We had lots of positive motivation from the company. Plenty of sales and profit bonuses were awarded to managers and team-members who practiced implementing the company's high standards for service, cleanliness, and product. All of this was before the original owners of the company sold it to another corporation in the late 1980's. Today I am ashamed to tell friends I used to be a Step 13 Master Merchant Manager for Church's Chicken.

We recently visited a Church's in OKC...what a step down the present company has taken from the standards we were striven to maintain thirty years ago.

Church's Chicken ordered breasts/got backs and an argument

This is the 2nd time I have gone to this Church's and not gotten what I ordered.
Today ( ()ct. 30, 2008) I ordered 2 Breasts (1 spicy 1 regular). I got home and what I was given was 2 backs. This is not the first time I have been given the wrong order at this particular Church's. The first time I was too sick and tired and lived too far away to go back. This time, I now live within a mile of that location and go back I did. I took my receipt and the 2 backs back into the store. The people working there, all 5 of them are of Latin decent. They argued with me in front of other customer's that what I had been given were Breasts. I turned them over to reveal the structure of the pieces and told them again, "no, these are backs". The "manager" came over to the holding tank where they keep the cooked pieces, picked up a piece of chicken, held it up to me and said "this is thigh, you got Breasts" . I held back my laughter and said, not thigh, BACK!.
She had an astonished look on her face like she had no idea there was such a thing as a back.
I finally gave up and said, "Just give me my money back". I mean, they come to this coutry, take our jobs, don't bother to learn the language and have the nerve to argue that the backs are the breast and hold up a thigh to prove their point.

Church's Chicken pot hole in drive - thru

On October 2, 2008, as I pulled in to the drive-thru drive my car hit something hard on the front-right side. I slowly backed up and noticed a huge split in the pavement that my tire had almost completely fallen in to. I picked up my order and told the young lady that they needed to get that hole fixed realy bad.

Today, someone at a gas station told me my tire was low so I went immediately to Discount Tire to get the tire check. The manager told me the tire had a big gash next to the sidewall which conincide with the events of the day before at the Church's Fried Chicken Restaurant. It was on the right side and could not even be aired up according to the tire service manager because it would blow! I am very blessed that I was not in an accident and hurt because of this negliegence that is needing to be handled by this Church's Fried Chicken Facility. The next person that has damage because of that hole could be less fortunate than I was.

I tried to talk to the Supervisor over the area and he just blew me off saying I couldn't prove that It was that pot hole that had done the damage on my car. He even hung up on me and wouldn't hear me out. I only wish I had gotten the name of a witness in line behind me, yet I had been in a hurry.

Companies who do no have enough regard for the safety of their customers do not deserve to succeed. I have heart this company is loosing ground, and I can see why. With a lack of integrity and honor, eventually a company will fail. I would have liked them to meet me half way in the cost of my tire just to show they are willing to take responsibility for their neglegance. I shall never enter one of their restaurants again. It is really bad customer service to treat a customer the way I was treated.

My husband and I have been there several times to try and buy chicken to take home and eat, and a while back we have had no problem really getting our food but here lately its been an awful experience. the other day and many more like it, my husband went to the churches on 207 hastings and first he stood their in front of the register to order and the workers all just starred and looked at him manager and all and speeking of manager i dont know why he is so rude to us everytime we go there! anywas my husband saw that they only had a few old dry drumbsticks left and asked the women nicely, Are you going to cook more chicken? And the women just stood there looking at him and then my husband asked again Are you going to cook more ? And the women said " No! We are gettng ready to close. And it was only 6:00pm on Sunday. So then my husband walked out and there were even some customers sitting at tables and some getting in line also. So my husband waisted his gas and time going there and trying them again. We are so furious, I hope this reaches corporate so that they can make it a better place to eat. Untill then i guess we will have to go to KFC! April

Church's Chicken order not given correct

When I placed my order at church's chicken, they called my order and I went up front to get my order was incorrect, I told the cashier and she told the person who fix the orders and she did not get it, she con't to take other people orders and ignore me. She said she can not get it for me the other girls behind her must be the ones to give it to me, I said to her then tell her I don't have my order she looked at me and rolled her eyes at me. There were a lot of customers in the store looking at her and at me. Then the girl behind her told her that she gave my order to my sister and my sister told her no she didn't. she had her order short so she only gave her what she had missing. Then she the girl behind the girl at the register gave me my order with her back to me as if she didn't want to see me. I though that was very rude of them, if there were a manager there they should be fired to even let that take place there. I saw someone dress as a manager, but that person was acting if I was not talking about anything. Thing there need to be looked into, like a secret video on a person to see what type of professional atmosphere is being taken placed there.

Thank you,

Lynn

P.S. Please look into this and respond!

I have went to the Churches Chicken at 31st and Garnett in Tulsa several times in the last few months and they have left something out of my order everytime. I have thought about not comming there anymore . I spend about 50.00 to 60.00 dollars everytime I come in there. I think that if they are going to work in a place like that they should make sure things are right. I have told them that some of my items were missing but they acted like they didn't seem to care.

Church's Chicken consumer survey no good

On June 5, 2008 we ate at Church's Chicken in Arlington, Tx. The receipt had a phone survey. After the survey is completed you get a code word. This is good for a free meal w/purchase within 30 days for original meal. We bought first meal June 5, completed survey June 5, tried to redemn coupon on June 26, and was told it was expired. I followed their rules, they don't follow their guidelines! Poor customer service. I emailed them and have had no response.

Church's Chicken Roaches in ice machine

Well, my husband and I went and ate lunch at church's the food was good, we ate our food and drank our drinks and I always take my ice along to eat on the road. Well, I took the top off my ice and went to eat it and I looked down into my cup and I saw something brown. I said oh god please no. But sure enough it was a roach. I immediately stopped my truck opened the door, threw the ice out and went to throwing up. I had to get all that food out of my stomach. It was gross, I was sick all day long not to mention my throat feels like someone took a wire brush and scrubbed it. I will never eat there again.

Purchased a meal for 3 recently, the staff was all very young, even the manager. Looked like they had a "food fight" in the establishment. The chicken was ok, however the cajun dirty rice was saturated with grease. The fried okra was ice cold & no biskets were added to our order. We will not be back!

9:30 PM, May 28, 2008 (Wed). Using drive thru.- We ordered a 10 piece order and were told they only had 7 pieces left...I asked if they were to make more or what and was told that is would be 10 minutes. I agreed to wait ten minutes and told lady that we would park and come inside and wait for order she agreed. Theres one car in front of us at pickup window, as we pull in behind this car the lady with Church's yells at the customer and says she refuses to wait on them. The car leaves and I pulled up and told her again that I will come inside to wait. Upon walking up to door you can see that the two employees are in a shouting argument...The store has three entrances all three were locked and with Churches lady seeing me would not unlock door. Went back to car and waited for a couple of minutes, , , decided to drive to pickup window and ask about order... My question was if there was a problem with filling my order. She SAYS " I didn't take you Order ! In a totally disgusting attitude... This is not the first time that this store is out of what they sell, wish we wern't there attitude.! If Church's lets this kind of people to represent there company they might better start finding a new Career.

I also have had problems with this Church's Chicken. Twice I have gone in on a Friday or Saturday night at 7:30 and ordered a 15 piece of Spicy chicken. Each time I have been told that they are out. When I ask if they would cook some, there answer is "well, I guess we can." They act like they don't want to cook anymore chicken because that is going to cause them to have to do some work. The last time, I left and went to another place that has spicy chicken. I could understand it if I was going in at closing time, but they still have 2-1/2 hours left of work.

Church's in Winston-salem, North Carolina is the worst place I have ever seen. I really don't know how they continue to remain in business. I call the headquarters at least once a month because the service is obnoxious or the food is beyond greasy. The headquarters never responds to complaints and never do anything to appease the customer. Last night I ordered a 15 piece mixed box and when I got home there were only 14 pieces for $ 15.68 .I went back up and the girl who had the nastiest attitude. She was stupid enough to say that I was supposed to bring the whole box back and they would replace it. Do you think that's wastefull, I do. Would you throw out 14 pieces of chicken and give somebody 15 pieces for it. It's a wonder they're not bankrupt. All I wanted was my one piece of chicken that I paid for. She had the nerve to shake her head. she couldn't count to 15.

Church's Chicken Horrible customer service

On 2/27/08 about 5:55pm I went through the drive thru and gentleman asked me to hold on, then after about 3 minutes he said go head. I asked him “what do you have that contains 4 pieces of cicken and a bowl of mashed potatoes”, he replied, “we don’t have anything”. I said, “well what about something similar”, he said, “nothing”. But I can hear his voice with an attitude. Due to the fact that the menu did not have enough lighting, I was not able to see the menu clearly, so I asked him “if I can go tho the window” in a bothered voice he said, “I guess”. I drove up to the window and asked him, “is that the attitude that you use to treat you customers?” he said “yes mam, it’s the only one I have”. I said, “let me talk to your manager”, he said “she is not in but her name is sonia”. I looked at his name tag and it said “shift manager - marcelino”. I asked him “are you the manager”. He said, “nope im just an employee”. I requested a phone number to report him and he replied back at me “oh so you can report my #”? I said, “yes that’s exactly what im going to do”. He slammed the window and then started cusing at me thru the inside of the restaurant and I could see all the employees looking at him. Then, he went to grab a number he opened the window and threw it at me. Then he added, “here that way you can report my # you #en [censored]”, then slammed the window a second time. I was really in shock that I couldn’t drive away so I calmed myself down then, drove away. I got to my house and immediately called the number (916-392-3000), that he gave me and nobody answered the phone. I cant believe that church company would hire someone like that. It is so unbelievable. I would not dare touch anther churchs chicken again

I BELIEVE THAT EVERYONE SHOULD COMPLAIN WHEN IT COMES TO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT CHURCH'S CHICKEN OR ANY OTHER PLACE OF BUSINESS. THESE PEOPLE NEED TO REALIZE THAT THE CUSTOMERS PAY THEIR BILLS (WETHER THE CUSTOMER SPENDS 99CENTS OR $1000). WHEN NO ONE SAYS NOTHING THESE PLACE OF BUSINESSES CONTINUE TO LET PEOPLE LIKE THAT BE EMPLOYED WHICH HARMS THE THEM IN THE LONG RUN. THOSE EMPLOYEES NEED TO BE FIRED AND NOT KEPT EMPLOYED WHO DO NOT GIVE ALL CUSTOMERS SERVICE AS THEY ARE GUESTS AND NOT "PESTS". JESUS SAVES (ROMANS 10:9-16).

Are you insane? You could have TB or anything else floating around in your body. And you think we are supposed to be comfortable with someone not wearing gloves while handling our food. Please. It's people like you who give the food service business a bad rep, and justifiably so! Just listen to yourself.

I worked at Church's Chicken and we were required to use gloves. We would even wear 2 layers of gloves sometimes, to keep them from ripping apart. I also worked at a Wendy's restaurant, and when i cooked the meats, we also didn't require gloves, and believe me when i started working there I had the same complaint. Rest assured, we are required to keep our hands clean at all times, personally i would wash my hands over 20 times during my shift, especially if i left the cooking area.

*The following is MY opinion, not that of Church's Chicken or Wendy's, so don't quote me on this!*
If your hands are clean, there's really no need to wear gloves. When you cook at home, i don't suppose you cook with gloves, do you? And i know, its not the same, we're dealing with OTHER people's food, but we are required, and we believe in keeping our hands clean at all times. Also, cooking is a fast-paced job, and i can't tell you how many times, while putting meats down on the grill, my fingers touched the 350 degree surface. You get used to it, after a while, but imagine if i were wearing gloves. The latex, or plastic, material of the gloves would instantly melt off and contaminate your food. Plus as soon as the tip of each finger's glove melts off, i'd need a new glove, which would mean further contamination to the meats.

As you can see, its much safer for you to have a trained cook's unprotected hands in contact with your food, than to actually eat burned, melted latex with your meat. Same goes with the chicken in Church's. When putting the chicken in the fryer, often times oil splashes up and lands on your hands and arms. This could easily melt the plastic of the gloves, and contaminate your meat.

*the following is also my opinion, since i no longer work at any of these restaurants*
If the argument above doesn't do anything for you, think of it this way. The chemicals, preservatives, and other JUNK that goes into making JUNK-food is probably more dangerous than whatever may be on my hands (or sterilized gloves)

Church's Chicken contaminated food!

Wed.Feb.6 i purchased a 2pc mixed special, while mixing the mashed potatoes i discovered what looked to be a clot of blood in the potatoes. When i called to complain the woman laughed and said it was some seasoning from the gravy mix. I am a fair cook my self and i know this was not seasoning mix. I would not guess where it come from probably raw chicken. A good place to get salmonella poisoning. Anyway i will not be back ever and i will warn my friends and to do the same.

Church's Chicken nasty food, nasty company

My only real experience with Church's came while I was interviewing for a director positon in the corporate HQ in Atlanta. My first interview was with Carlos Olivo, the corporate HR guy. He seemed nice enough, and the intervew went really well. However, after many follow-up voice-mails, he never even had the courtesy to call me back. I found this to be extremely rude and unprofessional. More than anything, this showed me how the company operates, and that I dont want to contribute my talents to such an organization! The behaviour and unprofessionalism of Carlos Olivo was such a turn-off.

In the meantime I also did some site visits. The first one was to their store at Ponce de Leon and Monroe in Atlanta. What a SKANKY place. I kept asking myself how this place didnt get closed by the health department. The cashier handled my chicken sandwich directly after handling money from the drive-through, it took 10 minutes to get my food, and I had seen portable toilets that were more sanitary than that restaurant! The restaurant didnt even have lettuce for my sandwich, and the food was greasy! The second store I visited wasnt much better. In fact, when approached by a homeless person outside the restaurant, instead of giving him money, I gave him my untouched food.

Not only was my interview experience with Church's and Carlos Olivo disgusting, but so were the restaurants. My advice is to avoid Church's Chicken at all costs!

I agree with you on every issue. My son was unjustly fired for hearsay and a non related incidence. He had been with this company for 7 years. Never received a raise with 6 children. He remained loyal to this company. He's no angel and who is. He cooked their Chicken properly and especially on their Tuesday specials Customers asked for him to do their chicken because Church's is known to have greasy chicken. You should probably be happy you didn't get that job because that Corporation is seems is not fair. Jim

I would have to agree with the OP on one thing, every Church's I've been to, the food has been incredibly greasy. I'll stick with KFC for my chicken.

Our Church's chicken in Kannapolis, NC is clean. We always wear gloves or use tongs to touch all of the food, and the girls are allowed to wear fake nails, which shows that grooming and personal hygiene is encouraged here. Some Church's Chickens in other states that I've been to are dirty, but all Church's Chickens aren't dirty. Ours isn't. The only problem I have is working there and having to wait 2 or 3 days after pay day to get my money.

CFC should be boycotted because they are adhering to Sharia Law. The Islamic ### took Cajun Rice off of the menu because it contains pork. Sharia Law does not allow the eating of pork. Interestingly, if you visit a Islamic country you have to abide by their culture and beliefs. Yet they buy an American company and impose their customs and beliefs on us. Fortunately, the company has been bought by a non islamic company, but Cajun Rice has not been returned to the menu

Wasn't the food wrapped? I can't see why you'd need the wrapper to be germ-free - you're not going to eat it. It is also a little discrediting that you make these complaints after it's obvious that you weren't going to get the job. And he didn't call you back? You were probably denied... and frankly, there are many places that won't call you if you're not their choice. Rude, maybe, but time-saving (because remember, you're not the only one applying... there's probably at least fifty other people after that job as well).

A little bit bitter about not being hired, eh? How does it feel to know that this dirty disgusting restaurant doesn't want anything to do with you? Very humbling, I am sure.

Church's Chicken paid for something, did not get it

I have no car and have not been to church's chicken since for years, but a friend took me there last night, and I ordered two cole slaws for us, and also asked the man at the window for some salt and margarin as I had none at my home. He said ok. When I got home, no cole slaw, no salt, and no margarine. I
Called the manager, and he has they never have margarine for customers, as the rolls and corn on cob have plenty of it on them. My roll and corn were totally dry. Also tonight when I try to call them, at their number of [protected], they will not answer the phone.

Church's Chicken service

In March of 2007 I stopped at Church's in Globe Az. I was the only one standing at the counter, althought the drive thru was busy and there were a number of employee's in the back just visiting with one young man working the window. I stood there for 20 minutes without being served, so I went somewhere else to buy my meal.

On October 20th 2007, my son and I went in (my first visit since March) and made a rather large order. I am not a prejudice person, but I feel that we were discriminated against because we were white.

There were 5 mexican employees, including the manager (who was there the last time I was ignored) standing around at the back of the kitchen visiting, and one young white lady named Heather (I know because I asked her) who was taking care of the drive thru, front counter as well as putting food into the fryers. It took her 20 minutes to take care of our order because she was the only one working and our order was big.

Another gentlemen who was eating in the resturant came to get his cup of water refilled, which Heather gladly obliged as she was getting our drinks. He commented "working hard aren't they," to which I commented "well she (Heather) is anyway," and he just nodded in agreement.

I can guarantee you that I will not be returning again, as there is a KFC at the other end of town.

Sincerely

Janet Danilow

Church's Chicken rude management

The store was very busy and the manager left out of the store to talk to someone in a car that had pulled up on the lot. I waited, 10 min. Later i asked her to come inside because we had a problem, she then through her hand up at me and continued to talk.

The cashier told me that i could not get my 12 piece mixed chicken without thighs. That's what the problem was that i was having. I'm paying for mixed chicken and you are going to tell me what i can't have.

My family doesn't eat thighs and i have always gotten my chicken like that. I order churches twice a week.

I recently went into the Churchs #459 in Orlando to purchase my dinner for the night. I was using a coupon (from Entertainment '08) for buy one get one free. The shift manager was busy with drive-thru service, so a cook came from the back to take my order.
I informed the person of what I wanted to only be informed in an abort manner that they don't take those anymore.

I calmly informed the gentleman that I had used a coupon (from the same book) here just two to three weeks ago and it wasn't a problem then; to only be told,"That was then, this is now and we don't take those coupons!"

I just want to know, Who decides when to honor a coupon?
