Chrysler Capital car lease

Ok where to start.. A few years ago I got divorced and had a car lease through chrysler financial.. They sent me a few statements here and there but not every month. As I moved out of my now ex wifes house I contacted them to tell them my new address along with filling out a change of address card at my local post office.. About a year goes by and I supposedly missed a payment in between my divorce and things going on.. They never called me about the missing payment so I kept on paying every month like I was doing.. A few months down the line I wake up to my car being repoed.. I contact chrysler financial as soon as they opened and said my car was just taken.. They said we sent you a letter 30 days ago and you never responded.. I said I never recieved the letter or else I would have... Turns out they went to my ex wifes house the old address which I told them about when I moved.. The certified letter was returned due to me not living there... They then said from missing one payment I was being charged 2, 600 dollars to get the car back.. I needed a car so my parents bailed me out and paid it... Then come to find out that they never reported the repo on my credit report and on it says my car is closed and paid.. Like I never had a car.. I recently bought a new car and my chrysler is just sitting here.. I actually dont know where my payments are going now because I never get statements... Then just last week I call the woman supposedly in charge of my car.. She tells me at first to pay 13.000 to keep my car... Then pauses and says make that 11.000.. She then says im going on maternity leave in a few weeks so the person taking over for her might follow the rules and come take the car.. I told her come take it now.. This is the very last time im ever dealing with them and was wondering if I have a lawsuit against them... Where I got my new car from they said if they closed my account and is not keeping it up to date where are my payments going to?

Chrysler Capital bad customer service

I have had an acct. with Chrysler Financial for 5 1/2 years. My story may sound like a soap opera, but we have had a string of bad luck. Our home was destroyed by IKE with no insurance have been living in a FEMA trailer for 2 years while fixing up our home with our life savings and any money we can find. My husband was laid off 1 year ago due to his plant closing down and I found out 2 months ago that I have Breast cancer, try getting them to understand that. Everytime they call about a payment they are so rude and you are supposed to pay on time BLAH BLAH BLAH! like I don't know that. I would love to pay all my bills on time, but I can only do so much. I offer to pay them a 1/2 of my payment every two weeks instead of the whole thing every month and they told me they can't do that, so they refused my payment and told me they would repo my car for being 41 days past due. The car that takes me to Houston every week for Chemo treatments are they stupid are what! And the whole thing is I only owe 7 more payments thats what stinks. I would think they would want their money and not my 6 year old car with 80, 000 miles on it. They are crooks! no wonder they are in trouble! Rude Rude People need to learn some customer service skills like FORD MOTOR CREDIT! Good People There!

I for one as so sorry that at a time like this you are having to also fight for your life. If I were you I would raise so much awareness of what is happening to you, tell your story, tell the local newspaper, radio stations some one out there will listen and you will get some help. I will be thinking of you. I have seen first hand what IKE, RITA, and Katrina has done, my husband was there for over a year helping with different things, he was telling me the news did not do it justice that it was so much worst, and it was a horrible sight to try to remove from your vision.

Again I wish I could help, but my prayers are with you.

Chrysler Capital poor collection practices

I am writing this so that anyone considering getting a car using chrysler financial knows what kind of company they will deal with.
My mother in law was killed in a car accident on August 3rd, it was not her fault and was a freak accident where really no one was at fault but she was rear ended by a semi truck. Apparently her car payment of $187.80 was due on Aug. 17th so obviously it was not made and that is where the problems started. On Aug 19th the phone at my mother in laws house started ringing so my brother in law answered( we were all there getting the necessary business stuff taken care of) I cannnot say the exact conversation because I only heard one end of the conversation. However he said that his mother was deceased and that everything involving the estate was going through the attorney. Something else was said on the other end and my brother in law said "thank you" and hung up. OK so no big deal however less than an hour later the phone rang again and it was again chrysler financial and again same story. About an hour later the phone rang again and I answered this time. Again Chrysler financial calling about a "personal business matter" for my deceased mother in law. I again explained and I also said that they have already been told this twice today and I was told the calls are on an automatic dialer and they will put in the notes but we will continue to receive calls until this matter is taken care of. It is now barely past noon and we have already gotten 3 calls not once have they been talked to rudely or disrespectfully, but at this point I felt that the attorney for the estate should be notified which he was. He said if there were any more calls to let him know and he will contact them. At 2:37 that afternoon Chrysler financial called again(4th time) and got the same explanation. The attorney was called and given the number and he said he would contact them. At 5:06 another call(5) by now the attorney had left for the day. 6:12 another call(6) again I answered this one and I swear it sounded like the same person I had already talked to again "personal matter" please call such and such number. I said that the attorney for the estate had already contacted them. Then the gentleman on the other end asked if there was any way I could get onto my mother in laws account on the internet and schedule a payment(I thought this is supposed to be a personal business matter that they could only discuss with mother in law) and I said I would see what I could do. Now I know why they are calling and it is an issue for the attorney for the estate so I was going to wait until the next morning after talking to him. Next morning at 8:03 call number(7) same personal business matter. At 9 we went to the attorneys office and told him what was going on and he contacted chrysler financial with myself and my wife there. I know while he was talking he said he was going to fax it to them and faxed something. He then said all further issues regarding this matter should be brought to him. So we left did a few things and went back to mother in laws gone for maybe 4 hours checked called ID 2 more calls from C.F. and one message total of (9) calls so far in just over a day and a half. Contacted attorney again. No more calls that day. Next morning we had to go home while brother in law and his wife stayed a bit longer. That night my brother in law called C.F. had called 4 times that day(13) in 3 days. They left to go back home but we had left all utilities on until everything was taken care of and that included telephone.
2 weeks later we all came back, this was Sept 4th and on the caller ID there were numerous calls from C.F. there were 36 calls in a two week period that we were not there and then counting when we were we are up to (49) calls. Since it was labor day weekend I could not let the attorney know until Tuesday so we decided to stay the whole week by the way 3 more calls now up to (52). On the final call The guy I talked to, I am positive it is the same guy I already talked to, told me I could make a payment on this account for $187.80 and the collection calls would stop. I counter offered with how about I just have this phone shut off and you deal with the attorney. Was told that if OUR number was on the account they would call us until this account was brought up to date. Tuesday Sept 7th i let the attorney know what was going on and was told they cant do that. I said maybe they cant but they are. We went ahead and had the phone shut off. It could not be shut off until Thurs the 9th, so we waited. 3 more calls(55). Thursday the phone was shut off and Thursday evening the neighbor that lives next door to my mother in laws house came over telling us that she had gotten a call for my mother in law regarding a personal business matter from C.F.

I know that C.F. is due their money but this is a very stressful time for my wifes family as it is and to call over 50 times in less than a month is a bit extreme. I do not understand how they can ignore even instructions from the attorney. They seem to be able to discuss "personal business matters" whenever they see fit and basically demand money from other family members.

I dont know what will end up happening with this mess but after reading MANY complaints regarding very similar collection practices by C.F. I just think anyone considering a loan using them should seriously reconsider

Chrysler Capital payoff

On the evening of 08/15/2010 I called your 800 number [protected]) to find out what my payoff balance was. The recording told me if paid by the 26th of the month my payoff would be $796.08.
I sent this payment out by check and in the mail on 08/16/2010. I sent it to the address given to me by the recording which I noticed is not the same address I have been making my payments too. Still I mailed it to said address trusting the recording was accurate.
On 08/25/2010 I called to see if my payment had been received. I spoke with Taylor and she stated that my payment had not been received and it was late and asked if I wanted to make a payment. I explained to her my situation and she put me on hold. Once she got back on the phone she said my check was there and was in process, but would not go through until the next day and everything was good and taken care of.
On Monday night (08/30/2010) I got a call from your institution telling me that my bill is past due and there is a $15.00 late charge. Now I’m upset since I assumed everything was taken care of since my conversation with Taylor. I called back the next day (08/31/2010) to talk to the floor manager (Ms. Sanghra) and she tells me I am late and asks if I want to make a payment. At this point I’m still wondering where my check is since it obviously wasn’t received like Taylor had stated prior. It had been 3 weeks since I’d sent out my payoff.
This lack of understanding and knowledge is uncalled for. Had I known sooner that my check wasn’t received I could have stopped payment, but instead I was given the run around.
I will not be paying the $15.00 late fee or any other amount over the $796.08 payoff amount I was quoted by your automated system. Check my payment history, for 5 years I have made my payment on time--everytime--Above my monthly payment amount!
As of this point the initial check has had a stop payment placed on it and my bank has sent off another payoff check to you. I want you to no longer contact me and in return I will never do business with your company again. Sending me off to collections after 3 weeks is uncalled for especially since you can go back and listen to the recorded calls to hear the situation and incompetence of your staff. You have lost a good customer and any referrals.

I am getting close to that point of paying off my car, although I am having issues with all the extra payments not being applied to my principal like the financial whiz at the dealership said it would be. Your information you shared is good to know. So far I have always paid online and wonder if you can pay off your car online, as well?

Chrysler Capital harrassment

Just had to tell you my leasing experience with Chrysler Financial. I turned my lease in on my 2008 Charger on 6/17/10. The guy I gave the keys to told me I can expect a bill for the turn in fee in around 3 weeks. No biggie.
I got my only correspondence from Chrysler Financial on 7/26/10. It was a statement, not even a bill. The envelope was postmarked 07/21/10. From 7/26 on I received 2 phone calls per day...finally on 7/30 I called them to see why they keep calling, told me I owe them $450.00 for the turn in fee, I said yes I received a statement on it last week...he proceeded to tell me I was supposed to receive a bill from the dealership (really?) well no bill only a statement asked for my checking account number over the phone said no, I will pay this on 8/13 when I get paid stated to give him the checking info and he would post it on the 13th, yeah right Im not stupid. Got upset when I told him I dont give my checking info to anyone over the phone. Told him I would send it out on the 13th...now mind you the first piece of mail received was 7/26. Received a call on Monday at work after I told them when I was sending out on the 13th. Lane Arnold called and was stalking me at work, told me it was late...said no, just got something in the mail. Told him cease and desist...I have contacted the federal trade commission regarding this issue., they still continued calling. I will never in my life drive buy lease another Chrysler product. I would rather walk. Thank God I bought a GM car.

Stay far away from chryslar financial and do not lease a car through them never be a day late on your payment or they will be on your front step wanting their money. Rude costumer service and overall rotten people. Shame on the company for treating people the way they do I will never buy through them again. Oh and my 2008 jeep patriot is a piece of crap and they should be ashamed selling such junk everything is falling apart and everytime it goes in to get fix they can't seem to find the problems. I will not be buying this vehicle when the lease is up or any other chryslar made vehicle

Chrysler has called 6 and more per day we have been paying them for the last 7 years the car is 2 payments from being paid off. The first 5 years our credit with them was perfect! We bought a second vehicle (BIG MISTAKE). We bit off more than we could chew and they got their truck back. Well since then we have paid our payment ontime and that has been for a year now. We have ran short of money in the winter and because of the Ice Storm that hit and are now 2 payments behind granted the 2nd payment is only 2 days late we have talked to them and they seemed like it was ok they would work with us but today I found a note in my mailbox from the neighbor asking us to call Chrysler. I do not know how they can get away with this! It is so unfair.

I agree with so many of the comments on this website about Chrysler Financial. I wish I would have looked into their business habits before I purchased a Jeep and financed it through Chrysler. Buyer beware! Do your research FIRST

I'm getting calls all the time about my ex-husbands Chrysler loan. Along with my parents. I divorced him almost 10 years ago now and have not seen him in 7. Yet I'm constantly called regarding his loan which I am not on! Several times I've been assured that my number along with my parents number have been deleted from their system, but the calls keep coming. The people are rude, nasty, and when I get upset I am hung-up on. Whats worse is that I worked for Chrysler and could not get a loan for a car. Yet my ex has multiple judgments against him for back child support. Now at 30.000, and he gets a loan!

Turned in a leased chrysler vehicle in 2008. Bought a new car at same dealership. Both leased and new car financed through Chrysler Financial. On buying the car walked in with a pre-approved loan. Chrysler Financial decreased the % to stay with them, so we did. This was a completed lease, with no late payments, way under the allowed amount of mileage, thousands of miles under. There was no damage what-so-ever to car, no accidents, no tickets, no nothing. Was told at time that no $ owed on lease and 'very pleased to finance a new car for us'. That was almost 3 years ago. Today I get a call about being 77 days late on a bill of close to $300 for the leased car I haven't had since 2008! I have never seen this 'bill', which I guess would have arrived 2 1/2 years after the end of lease from what I could gather. Just short of calling me a liar, the man from Chrsyler Financial gave me the date sent along with the follow-up I supposedly received and told me he was doing me a favor by calling so that this didn't go to an outside collection and let's arrange to pay it right now. I refused. Loudly. He told me I would have to deal with the dealership if a mistake had been made because they were completely separate for at least 2 years now. Hello...this is almost 3 years old! I am angry about this and let him know it. He offered to email me a copy of the bill, which he has not done, but 'let's take care of it now' and then he smoothly added words like collections, credit scores and attorney. Really? Oh, and he asked for my email address. Again, hello? You email me monthly with my statement because I HAVE A CAR LOAN WITH YOU! He ended the call with 'Have a blessed day.' What? Who are you? That sounded pretty shallow and I could only answer 'oh barf!' All I can say is Wow...what smarmy creatures do they have making these calls? And to the ridiculous posters acting like anyone complaining is unemployed, uneducated and doesn't pay their bills...quit judging. We are highly educated, both have great jobs, own our home and pay our bills on time all of the time WHEN WE KNOW ABOUT THEM! How dare this company call me after almost 3 years and tell me they're 'doing me a favor' regarding a bill they've yet to produce. We have bought our last car from them and certainly will not finance with Chrysler Financial again!

I also agree with many of the complaints. They begin to harrass you if you are 2 days past due on your payment. Even after paying via the phone or internet they will continue non-stop phone calls to your home, cell, workplace etc. for at least two days saying that they cannot see the payment. How can such a large company have such poor communication within its company. And God help you if you have leased through them. They begin the 'lease return' harassment months before the lease is up and pressure you into either leasing or buying through them again. If you do not they charge you heavily for normal wear and tear and then they actually charge a fee for not buying/leasing another chrysler product. How can they possible charge your for not buying their product? What next? A bill from 'Pathmark' because I bought groceries from 'Shoprite". ?!?!? And be careful! We did re-lease from them because we thought we were getting a deal that would be worth any harrassment we would have to deal with. We recieved many offers from certified Chrysler dealers via mail and phone - We were told that if we returned the lease early and bought or leased another chrysler product that we would not be responsible for the last payment on our lease. We went ahead and returned our vehicle a month early - made the dealer call chrysler financial while we sat there to make sure we would not be responsible for the last payment - everything was set - or so we thought. We left with our new car and days later the non-stop phone calls started (threatening calls) demanding final payment. We went through letters, supervisors etc. to no avail. Not only were they charging us the last payment on a car already returned to them + late fees PLUS a fee of a few hundred dollars for NOT purchasing another chrysler product (communication again) that fee was finally removed as we had to prove that we were their customer again - but we did have to pay the last month payment. Please watch out!

Chrysler Capital paid off truck in april as of july 2010 still no title

Paid off a 2004 Dodge truck on 4/21/2010 have never received the title. Have been told by rude customer service first they still didn't have the title from the DMV, then it was mailed in June and if I didn't receive it I will have to call another number, give them a credit card and they will send a duplicate title for $25.00. Asked to speak to supervisor who then told me they would mail another title out on July 9, 2010 at no cost and I would receive it in 7 - 10 days. July 30, 2010 still no title and local DMV still shows a lien on the vehicle. Calling consumer protection agency next to make a complaint. DON'T FINANCE THUR CHRYSLER FINANCIAL EVER!

Chrysler Capital greedy lender

I am an independent over the road trucker. I purchased my own semi truck and financed it with DCF. This was the 3rd truck I'd financed with them over the years. I never once missed a payment nor did I ever pay late. In 2009, my employer laid me off. I also began having one problem after another with the truck so the financial stress made it increasingly difficult to make the payments - but I did. I appealed to DCF to lower my interest rate and they refused. In fact, they told me I should just turn the truck in to the local dealer, which was both stupid and unprofessional. After another year, I finally decided to throw the towel in and sell the truck. I couldnt sell it for what I owed, so I had to take a personal loan out for the difference. I got a nasty surprise when I requested the payoff finding my loan payoff included a prepayment penalty. I asked DCF to waive the fee, but they've refused. Clearly, they do not value good customers and are GREEDY. I will never purchase another Chrysler vehicle - truck, car or anything else - nor will I EVER finance another dime with them. Last time they will ever get me and I'll tell everyone I know to avoid them and their products like the plague. Randy Breedlove [protected].

I am right there with you Randy! I have paid extra on every payment since day one so I could get out from under my loan as quick as possible. I was told there was an early payoff penalty (prior to 5 years on a 6 year loan) so I arranged my payments to have my loan paid in full at 5 years 1 month. It has been a constant battle for the past 5 months to get my amortization and account figured out. Still no answers. My interest was figured at 5.49% but when doing the math I was actually charged 5.6456%. (they base their year on 366 days) did not know we have 366 days in a year? When questioned on that they said I had to take that up with the financial dept at the dealer where we purchased the truck. When I called them to questioned I was told "we use their program" "its all figured on the computer"! After continual questioning on my account I was told that the extra that I have been paying in (since payment 1) has been being applied to the next month payment and not going towards the principal in turn to reduce my interest! So I complained enough that they reapplied all my payments. Last month I paid in what I was told was the payoff (not because I came to agree with the amount but out of frustration) Today I received another bill in the mail showing a remaining balance of $1078.24. I jumped on my online account and it shows a payoff of 99.79. I called and was told that they received my check AFTER the payoff quoted date expired last month..(11 days past their quote date) so I still owe $99.79. They have $26, 468.60 of my money a year in advance and they ding me for 11 days. You are right, I will NEVER take a loan thru them and will be sure to advise others not to either...

Chrysler Capital collections practices

As a former Chrysler Collector I can tell you that they will call your neighbors and your relatives by reverse address searches and buy skip tracing for accounts that are only 25 days past due. The calls are scripted for everyone to say to the same thing. They do not care about your problemsnor that a good account is late once or twice in the life of the loan due to unemployment or illness. They dangle extensions in front of the consumer's face with ridiculous requirements. All of this is in an effort to bring in as much of their outstanding balances as fast as possible. Most people do not know that Chrysler can not take on any new loans and is looking to restructure. The hire all new employees as temps and just recently announced that they are closing their call center in PA. They are trying to cut their losses and making the unfortunate people that borrowed money from them pay for it. They fire reps that are not nasty and promote the evil ones. Stay away from Chrysler if you have a loan and can refinance you would be better off. Just make sure the payoff is there on time or they will harrass you for late payments even after you tell them you refinanced or traded the vehicle.

Chrysler Capital routinely violates collection laws

Chrysler Financial Services is amoung the absolute worst violators of your rights when it comes to the Fair Debt Collection act. They are rude and arrogant, they illegally skip trace when they know where you live and your home phone number. Skip tracing is for when they cannot locate someone. What they do is try to call your neighbors and famiily to embarrass you.

They call at 8:01am and at 8:59pm at night. They call on major religeous holidays like Good Friday. They call 7 - 10 times a day witht he same message as if you need to hear it more than once a day. They also call your work number even though they are supposed to stop after you tell them its a work # and you are not allowed to receive calls at work.

When you talk to them and complain about their behavior they say things like "Well the best way to get us to stop is to pay your bill" NO FOOLING. REALLY?

I have leased/financed cars for 30 years and have NEVER dealt with a company this bad before. I will NEVER buy another Chrysler, I couldnt care if it were $100. I would advise anyone buying a Chrysler that you dont EVER finance with Chrysler. If you ever fall on hard times they will illegally harass you day in and day out dogging you only 2 days after your due date, like you owed them a million dollars. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED.

Chrysler Capital unethical/unprofession collection procedures

Despite the fact that my last three vehicles have been Jeep Grand Cherokees, I will never buy another Chrysler product due to the unethical & unprofessional collection procedures exercised by the Chrysler Financial staff. I have been under tremendous financial stress over the last 24 months, which included my companies going under. THe Federal Gov. didn't give me "25" billion dollars to avoid bankruptsy. Over the last 24 months I've been continuously harassed, sometimes as many as 10-15 calls/day it seemed. Then the insults, with someone on the phone leaving messages for me that I need to take financial responsibility. In January, I agreed to make two payments to bring my account current, if Chrysler Financial would bring my account current. They agreed, but a week later the harassment started again because the deferal was never posted. To date, they still continue to acknowledge the deferal they agreed to, so I demanded all future discussions with regard to my loan be conducted thru email so I had everything in writing, but Chrysler Financial refused, Then I agreed to pay March 2010 and MAY 2010 payments if they would give me a deferal for Feb. 2010, April 2010, and June 2010. Chrysler Financial refused. Since this loans inception, I've payed 24 payments of $750 totaling $18, 000 on a $35, 000 loan, yet Chrysler Financial claims there is still over $28K owed on the loan. I've requested a written audit for the account via email by Chrysler Financial refuses. A friend offered to buy the vehicle for the blue book value of $17, 000, which coincidentally equals the $35, 000 original loam amount less the $18, 000 made in payments. No response. My mother, who is 80 and lives in Delaware, is also continuously harassed and threaten by repo agents looking for me and my car. During the 26 years I lived in Delaware, Delawareans were proud to have a Chrysler Plant in our community. Chrysler Financial makes anything and everyone affiliated with Chrysler a complete embarrassment.

Our government should have never offered to help such a poor organization. Chrysler and it's entities should have been left to die and be picked apart by the worlds corporate vultures.

Chrysler Capital rip off at will

This company stole $3000 from my princaple payments and applied it to interest after a bankruptcy dismissal, repo'ed and sold the vehicle for $11, 500, the payoff from the trustee's statement said i owed them $11, 563, they are suing for $6000, they have already received $33, 000 on a $24, 000 note, so making $9000 in profit is not enough and they want more. Please contact your state Senator and file a complaint, they will open an inquiry. If enough people do it, maybe something will get done...

I was in the br. for 18 months, paid in $42, 000, so yes i paid all my fee's, i was laid off and could no longer pay the trustee thats why i volantarilly dismissed, Chrysler was paid a reduced rate at 8.75% $2000 was paid to them in interest and $8500 to prin balance, they did not add the amount to my balance, they re-wrote 18 months of the acct. ledger and absorbed the extra cash to interest ( cooked the books ) as far as it's all my fault, well i sincerly disagree with that, i did not cause the recession that cost me my job. Besides what about their breach of contract, 4 days after i purchased the truck and the dealer already dispossed of my trade, i was told either sign a new contract at a higher rate or they report it as stollen, i could not even get my trade back... Tell me thats not a crime...

Chrysler Capital chrysler manipulation and deception

Chrysler financial repossessed my vehicle on 5/10/2010 wrongfully. They (Diane a Representative of Chrysler Financial) stated the payment had not been made on our 2007 Ram 1500 (VIN 1D7HA182X7S272748) and a repossession order was issued as a result. It was a payment amount of $1084.76. I explained to her that the payment was made and I had completed that transaction online on 5/5/2010. She asked if I had proof of this payment. I provided her with a transaction number that was issued by the website. Diane said she would research this transaction and call me back in 30 minutes. She called me back and said she had spoken with her manager, Seth, and he informed her that the transaction was posted to our other account. The $1086.74 was posted to our 2006 Jeep Commander (VIN 1J8HG48NX6C363492) account. I informed her that those funds should have been applied to the 07 Ram 1500 account. Diane’s response was that the funds cannot be removed from the 06 Jeep Commander’s account and applied to the 07 Ram 1500. They acknowledge the fact that the EXACT past due balance was applied to the wrong account they still insisted that they could not do anything about it. The repossession order still stood and had to adhere to policy to regain our vehicle. I had to provide Chrysler Financial with seven References, Proof of insurance and Residency and pay the outstanding balance of $1, 084.76 plus the repossession fee. We faxed the needed information to the number they provided. At that of time the repossession fee was not known, due to the company that preformed the repossession had not invoiced them yet. Excepting those terms we proceeded on with those terms. After we received the total amount, on 5/13/2010, needed to regain the vehicle, we came to the conclusion we could not afford it.

With the help of my stepfather we purchase another vehicle.

On 5/26/2010 we received a letter from Chrysler financial stating that 2006 Jeep Commander was delinquent and will be repossessed if payment is not made by 06/01/2010. We called Chrysler Financial to clear up this apparent miss understanding. I was informed that the payment of $1, 084.76 that was posted to the account had been applied to 2007 Ram 1500 account. I pulled up the Jeep’s account online and it showed that the payment had been reversed, which left the account delinquent.

My complaint to Chrysler Financial is the $1, 084.76 that was applied to the wrong account has now been reversed as we previously requested to Chrysler Financial. Now it is two weeks on 5/262010 they have done it. When initially I had requested that this be done on 5/10/2010, I was told that it could not be done. This ultimately left me with no alternative but to allow the repossession. So my argument is if they were able to do this on 5/10/2010, we would have able to regain our truck. Since it was not possible then and the truck has been sold by Chrysler Financial since, Chrysler needs to right their mistake.

Vehicles are not repossessed with out multiple payments being owed. When your vehicle is sold at auction, if it is sold for more than what you owe, you are sent a check for the difference. Dealers are independently owned and operated. Therefore, any financial institution would not profit from a dealer purchasing your vehicle and selling it at wholesale.

My truck was repossessed last night without me ever being notified in writing or by telephone that a repossession order was being signed. When I called today to find out why I was never notified, they claimed that the address that they have is not the same information that I provided on their website where you make the payments. They claimed that they do NOT have access to this information. Why would they send the notifications to the wrong address and then just go ahead and repossess the vehicle? I believe the reason that they are doing this is because they will wholesale these repossessed vehicle(s) to another company that they own and then turn around and sell them for retail at one of their dealerships. Additionally, when they wholesale it off, they charge the difference that they receive for the wholesale on the vehicle back to the person who owes the loan. Than they resell the vehicle for retail through one of their dealerships which doubles the amount of money they collect. This is a scam to get more money from helpless people! NEVER finance through Chrysler Finance/TD Auto Finance!

Chrysler Capital rude, ignorant, obnoxious, liars etc.

This company has to be the worst people to deal with next to the people of Allegheny Power. They constantly lie about what you owe and when they receive payment. They repossessed my car after I was 1 full payment late and showed up to tow it away before the second payment was due. I had to pay them $1500, which included the payment, the repossession and the next payment. After having done this to renew my contract with them: "I am sorry the letter we sent you that stated you were renewing your contract did not contain all the information you needed. You have to provide us with 6 new references, proof of employment, and add an additional driver to your insurance policy and get your co-signer (my 89 yr old grandmother) to provide proof of income (SSI check), insurance (hasn't driven in 30 yrs) and proof of address (retirement home). They have the nerve to call my 89 yr old grandmother night and day and threaten to destroy her good name and credit. After one such call she had to be assisted to another wing of the facility for shortness of breath. They are slowly killing her with the torturous phone calls and threats. She worked her whole life to build her credit and they have assured her that means nothing; they can destroy it much faster. Though, I lost my job, I came up with the money to make the payments full and up to date, yet they still hold my car at an auto auction and threaten to sell it, though it is currently paid to the end of next month. If this is not criminal, I do not know what is. To top it off, I have sent the references and information they required of me. Funny thing is they say I am being charged for storage at the auto auction though it is paid for already. The longer they can drag out this reference garbage the more money they can "BLEED" out of me and my family and for what you ask... a 2004 Honda Accord. If I did not need the car and want to keep my grandmother's sanity and health intact, I would tell them where they could put that car and for how long. If you ever decided to buy a car please avoid this band of ravenous blood thirsty money hungry jackals. They are nice to your face when you buy the car but be 5 seconds late with the payment and you will soon find out they are not your friend and they do not care, if you had a death in the family, your house burned down, your mother has cancer, your child needs medicine to live; it is simply a case of "F*ck You Pay Me."

Chrysler Capital end of lease

On April 01, 2007 our vehicle lease had expired for our 2007 Chrysler Aspen. We were notified by Chrysler Remarketing Department on such date. We were asked if we planned to purchase the vehicle and we stated "yes". We advised Chrysler that the loan had been requested through our credit union and would take time for the approval as the owner of the vehicle was overseas in Korea under Military Orders and in order to get loan documents needed to be signed. We contacted Chrysler Financial and requested to extend our lease and was responded to "it is not necessary. You are not in jeopardy of loosing the vehicle as long as you keep us informed". We. along with our Credit Union had weekly contact with Chrysler advising the status of the loan. We sent in payment on April 06, 2010 which never posted to the account correctly. We also sent in payment for May which never posted to the account correctly. They actually accepted the payment (payment was on time) but never posted the payment to "invoice". We have never been late on any payment through out the course of the lease. Our Credit Union kept Chrysler informed on a weekly basis and in good faith sent in the payments of the lease for the extending months. We were advised by Chrysler Financial that although they could extend my lease until pay off was received it was not necessary. All comments and notes of relating phone calls have been deleted from Chrysler system as Chrysler now indicated "No contact was made by owners or Credit Union. Kenneth, Chrysler Financial Remarketing Manager, refused payment and refused us the ability to speak with anyone else but himself. We were refused to speak with their Legal office as well.

Maryland Deptartment of Labor, Licensing and Regulations, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and the Office of the Comissioner of Financial Regulations state that MD Law regarding repossession as follows:

Your Rights Before, During and After Repossession

Discretionary Notice

Maryland law states that a creditor may issue a Discretionary Notice 10 days prior to repossessing the vehicle. This written notice of intent to repossess must show the past due amount, scheduled repossession date, towing cost, daily storage rate and any other cost relating to the repossession which you may be required to pay.

If issued, the discretionary notice must be sent to you and all co-signers on the loan by registered or certified mail to each individual’s last known address.

You are not required to pay any repossession expenses if the creditor failed to issue you a discretionary notice!

Required Notice

The creditor must send a “Required Notice” to you by registered or certified mail within five days after the repossession. The notice must disclose:

* Your right to redeem the vehicle and amount due
* Your rights as to the vehicle resale and liability for any remaining balance
* The vehicle location and payment address

The creditor must retain the vehicle for 15 days.

During this time you may:

* Redeem and take possession of the vehicle
* Pay the amount due under the contract
* Abide by any other contract terms
* Pay the actual repossession expenses

We never received Discretionary Notice 10 days prior advising of fees. Remarketing stated they would not inform due to the "chance" I may hide the vehicle. Not a valid "risk" considering payment history and continued payments of the lease amount until pay off was recieved.

We never received Notice to Buyer disclosing right to redeem vehicle and amount due; Owners rights as to vehicle resale; the vehicle location and payment address.

The Office of the Commissioner of Financial Regulations states and this would include expenses of a repossession tow and storage!

Discretionary Notice

Chrysler Capital lease end fee

I to have had my issues with Chrysler. Last year, (09), several months before our lease end we had contacted our dealer to see what our options were(like we didn't already know) Our dealer told us that Chrysler was no longer leasing so what do we want to do? So with our lease end coming up in several months and since we had been with Chrysler for the lat 4 vehicles we decided to stay with Chrysler. We tried for several months to be able to purchase a vehicle from Chrysler and was told repeatedly by our dealership "SORRY NO CAN DO!" After many hits on the credit(They tried 9 times to get us a vehicle), so we went to a competitor down the street(FORD) and they said no problem. My lease came to an end and no problems there ar at turn in(we have always taken good care of the vehicles). My problem began several weeks after turn in of the vehicle. We continued to get letters and calls regarding a LEASE TURN IN FEE. After they sent me a copy of this I am not denying that this is in the contract my dilema is we had tried over and over to purchase a car through CHRYSLER. Two dealers were not able to do this so why would I be liable for this if they were unable to help me purchase a vehicle after I have already been with CHRYSLER for the past 4 vehicles, (ALMOST 11 YEARS).
I tried to explain this to the person whom had constantly been calling me, I have also written letters to Chrysler and yet not person is able to explain why I would be liable for this fee if they were not able to get me a vehicle. How sad that because of this I probably will not go back to Chrysler when I am done with this FORD.(whom by the way had no problem getting me vehicle.)

Chrysler Capital rude and harrassing over a end of lease fee

I leased a Chrysler 300C and made all my payments on time for 39 months. When the end of lease was close, I received a call from Chrysler Financial asking if I would be leasing another vehicle, buying this vehicle or turning in the leased car. I explained that we would be turning in the lease so I needed to know what I had to do. I also asked at that time what the mileage limit was since I was sure I was under the milegae limit. When I was supplied with that information and the inspection companies number I then asked if there what I would need to do to complete the turn-in process and were there any additional fees. I was told I would have to pay any damage fees but that was it.
I called the inspection company and set a date for them to come to my house and inspect the car. The car had slight damage to the back bumper and was told there would be a fee of $290 for this damage. Outside of that the car was in excellent condition, as I also had replace 4 tires only 9 months earlier. The technician said all we had to do was turn the car back into the dealership and we would be billed for the damages.

Now the fun started... I called the Old Saybrook CT dealership a few days later (an week before the car was to be turned in). When I told the receptionist what I needed to do, she advised me I needed to talk to the leasing manager but he was not available until the next day. I called at 9:00 am the next day (Saturday) and was put through to the leasing manager who asked if I would be leasing another car. When I said no he became rather rude, saying he was too busy with other customers to handle a lease turn-in. My husband then got the phone and told him we would be dropping the car off as we were told that was all we needed to do. When we got to the dealership there was not a car in sight, nor a customer on the lot or in the showroom. A gentlemen met us at the door and once we related why we were there went off to an office and came back saying he would help us but that he never handled a lease turn-in before. After taking down the mileage we asked if there was anything else he needed and he said no but I asked about the plates on the car -- would they turn those in since in CT we are charged property tax based on your registration and term of use of the vehicle. Another man came out of the office and said we should turn in our own plates. I assumed they would take the plates off the car, but instead they handed my husband a screwdriver. My husband went out and took the plates off and we left. The following Tuesday I went to the DMV and turned in the plates.

Two weeks later I received a letter from Chrysler Financial that I had not turned the car in and would be subject to an additional payment. I immediately called them and told the woman I spoke with that the car had been turned in and I had already turned in the plates. I even related the above story to her. She called the dealership while I was on the phone and was told that "they forgot to call".

Two weeks after that I received a bill for $740 plus tax from Chrysler Financial. When I called to inquire what this was about I was told that I had to pay a turn in fee (since I did not lease another car) as well as the damage fee. I explained to this woman that I would pay the damage fee but that was all, especially since I had paid them over $27, 000 in lease payments plus a down payment plus gave them a car under the mileage and in excellent condition, nothing to say about the way I had been treated. She offered me $50 off the turn in fee and I told her I would give her $150 but that was it-- no one told me about the turn in fee when I asked and also in the letter they sent about fees on any damages there was never anything about a turn -in fee. She then offered me a $100 off but I felt the dealership should pay it since they were keeping the car. I mean come on, It's not like they won't recoup $450.
I did pay the damage fees (over the phone) and told her to make sure she had noteson all the proceedings that occurred up to this point.

A few weeks after that the "threatening" calls started. I was called at home and left messages that if I did not call back I would be turned over to a colection agency. Then they started calling me at work (which is illegal) but I answered the call (not knowing it was them) and spoke to a rep that listened but said I had to pay the fee. I again reiterated my story and asked that he mark down our conversation -- I again offered to pay $150 which was turned down.

Now today I received a call at work (that went to voicemail) and I called back hoping they would work this out. Instead a man named RJ (funny how they never give you their last names) proceeded to tell me I owed this money or a collection agency would be calling me next. I asked what notes he had on my account and surprise -- there were none. I proceeded to relate the story once again but to no avail. He basically said pay or my credit rating would be in the toilet. I again offered $150 - he said no. He was so utterly rude telling me I was irrational and that maybe he was better off talking to my husband (the nerve!) that I finally ended the call telling him I wasn't paying a dime.

My next step is to write the president of Chrysler and Chrysler Financial. We have leased cars over the last 20 years with Acura, Ford and Mitsubishi and NEVER were we treated this way or told we had to pay a turn in fee.

Here's a lesson-- DON'T BUY A CHRYSLER or DEAL WITH CHRYSLER FINANCIAL. It's no wonder Daimler AG sold them off and they are in financial ruin.

Same situation here. Chrysler is a bunch of crooks. They took our taxpayer money for a bailout and then charge you a ridiculous disposition fee at the end of the lease. DO NOT EVER BUY A CAR FROM THEM! Buy a Ford. I've leased vehicles from them and have never been charged a fee even when I didn't buy another vehicle from them. I never should have left them in the first place.

I did finally figure out why the man was so rude when I told him to email me the bill and that NO I would not be calling him back and NO I wouldn't take care of it over the phone. He works on commission! Of course he does not want me taking care of this with anyone else if I ever figure it out! They would get the commission! As I said, smarmy!

These people are the worst! I will never buy another Chrysler product again. We decided not to buy another Chrysler and when the lease was up we called after receiving the paperwork. We were told to take it to any dealer and turn it in. Called the closest dealer and was told they won't take it if we don't buy another Chrysler - they have no room. Called the next closest dealer per their website - that was closed. Called the original dealer where we bought the car - they don't sell Chrysler anymore. Called Chrysler and was told basically to keep trying. After several days of this I called them and told them to pick the car up. They said they cannot do that and I have to take it in. Since we are supposed to pay some sort of turn in fee I said what if I don't pay it - they said they would then repo the car. I said OK I am not paying it come and get it. They said they can't do it that way I have to take the car back to any dealer that would agree to take it. I asked when they were coming and she says they would repo the car if I don't pay. I told her again I am OK with the Repo come and get it. She says that's not how it works but if you don't pay we will repo the car. After several times agreeing to let her come repo it she said she couldn't help me and would have no way of knowing when they would come and get it. It's been sitting in the driveway now for two weeks and we're getting 7 to 10 calls a day from spoof numbers that are Chrysler Financial - each time we get some nitwit who says they need us to pay and then turn it in - but can't give us any idea on who or where to take it. What a bunch of idiots these people are!

like you, we never had any problems with our lease. in fact, 2 years ago we converted it to a loan through our credit union and got out of the lease - keeping the jeep... now 2 years later, we get a bill because they "forgot" to bill us our personal property tax 2 years ago.

we refused to pay - when we paid off our lease, we were released from ALL further obligation. I will not pay them 2 years later on a now defunct lease. Needless to say, they did not waste any time in sending our account to collections.

Chrysler Capital collection methods

I have been 15 to 30 late on my car loan with Chrysler Financial over the last few months. I understand a collection calls are necessary but i don't understand calls from 8am in the morning until 9pm at night. I receive over 40 calls a day combined with my home number - office number and cell number. I was told today by a very rude Chrysler collection agent that until they get the payment the calls will not stop and can increase it is the way collection agencies work. I have received call from Chrysler while i am talking to Chrysler.
I have to believe this is against the law or principles of collection - shouldn't they ask the reason your late - ask for a payment date and if you agree stop the calls.

If anyone else are having this happen to them comment back and if there is an attorney out there help me stop them from doing this to everyone.

I have the same problem. Wish I could pay but cannt. if there is no money how do they exspect payments. I ahve tried to work with them and they refuse. i told them a few times the check was mailed. They told me "your account is past due you cannot send a check it must be paid today". Yeah ok, pound sand ###.

Good luck with your situation, I have a repo set up for next week.

The best thing you can do at this point is to file complaints to the FTC on their collection tactics. We have had problems with them hitting my bank acct many times over. I had told them not to ever hit my acct again & still they kept doing it even while I had been sending pmts thru western union. They got me over $618.00 in INF charges cuz I had other bills that had to be paid but because of these people my other bills were bouncing too. I had closed my acct & told them this & they still kept trying to hit a closed acct for 3 months after closed & want to hit me for check charges. The whole time this is going on I was sending my pmts faithfully thru western union.
I have deferred a couple pmts that they offered me & paid that finance charge to have them call me & tell me that was no good & I was late that pmt...PLUS they decide to try to tell me I am past due for the month before that. I have the receipts to prove it was paid. I asked them to send me what they show on pmts, no can do & it must be paid or car repo'd.
Have filed with FTC & now talking to an attorney.
Never again will I or anyone I know deal with these ###S!

Chrysler Capital deficiency balances, collections

I think something should be done about the nature of auto loans in general, and what happens after a repo. When an auto loan is signed, its a contract for money and physical goods. You agree to pay X amount, we let you keep your vehicle. Interest is part of the loan for the company to make profits. I understand that. But when it comes to repossession, enough is enough.

For example: I purchased a truck for $22, 000, financed through chrysler financial. After fees and blah blah blah i forget what the exact balance was, i think around $27, 000. I paid for about 2.5 years before, hard times came, and couldn't afford the $528 monthly payment. In total that is roughly $15, 840 in payments i made to chrysler financial. They repossessed my truck, and it was sold at an auction for $14, 500. They get to keep that money. So all in all, Chrysler financial has been paid over $30, 000 for a $22, 000 truck. Being that they didn't get enough to cover the remaining balance, after fees I now owe a balance of round $7000.

I now have to pay, for something I don't even own, and they have already made an extreme profit from this situation to begin with. Something needs to change.

If you think they are bad with a good standing loan, they are just as bad with collection for remainder balances also. While I don't not think its fair, I contacted them to work out a payment arrangement for the balance. The only way they would work with me is to put 10% down ($700), and pay minimum of $250 a month. If I had that kind of money, I would still have possession of the truck and wouldn't be going through this. So off to collections it goes, and probably to court.

This is crazy. They made their money off me. Yes I know, i screwed up. Life happens and we all can't be perfect. There needs to be something done about this. Its just not fair to keep bleeding money from people that don't have it. Loan contracts are traps, If anyone has any ideas to go up against this, I say lets start a movement and quit being ### on by the big companies like chrysler financial.

I am experiancing the exact same thing, i was in a chapter 13 bankruptcy and the trustee paid an additional $3000 to princaple, they applied it to interest, so when they sold the truck it left a $3000 deficeit + fee's, misc. charges, ect... now they are suing me for $5, 000 + court cost and their attorneys fee's ($1000) they have received $33, 000 on a $24, 000 note, 44 months on a 72 month term. I have contacted my state Senators office and filed a complaint, they want copies of all my paperwork so they can start an inquiry. I SUGGEST YOU ALL DO THE SAME, maybe if enough politicians inquire about there practices, something will get done about it...

Senator Corker was against the bailout from the begining and now even more so that the had filed bankruptcy themselves...
