Choice Home Warranty pressure by salesman, early credit card charge, 15-30 days to remove charge, salesman did not tell us monthly payments were available

I contacted Choice on June 19th. I just wanted a year but the salesman (Jeff) just kept going over better offers. After I final got the year I gave the salesman my credit card number more than two weeks before their service was going to start. I told him Choice had sent me offers for 1 month free and 15% off and he said he would give me both. His initial price was $450 and his eventual price of $425 was quite a bit more than it should have been. I e-mailed him about not getting the correct price and having my credit card charged 14 days before the contract was to start. He responded he would check with his manager to get the best price. Never heard from him so I e-mailed him back saying I just got an offer for 15% off and that was as good a price as he gave me so his deal was not so good. I also told him he did not offer monthly payments. He told me any more questions I should contact customer service which took several days (Initial number called put me on hold where I waited and finally hung up.) I finally spoke to someone to get the contract cancelled. She sent me an e-mail saying my credit would take 15 - 30 days to process. What a bunch of BS - they charge my card immediately more than two weeks before service starts but take up to a month to give me a credit. I wonder if the date of the credit will be the same as when it was charged or weeks later.

Cancelled plan. Got response that the credit will take 15-30 days although they charged my card immediately. Salesman was high pressuer and did not give the price he offered. Sent me to customer service and lady cancelling the plan sent me an e-mail that the credit could take a month to process. Never found out if their service was any good because they proved they did not deserve me as a customer. Meanwhile, I found two other companies which were cheaper. Now I am waiting for my credit before I sign with one of those companies. I just do not trust that Choice will give me the credit. I've had companies which said the credit will take 5-7 business days but it always takes less time. No other company close to 15-30. That is pathetic.

Choice Home Warranty denial of claim

Do not use choice home warranty! They are a complete scam. Thank god that I didn't buy the 3 or 5 year plan. I stuck with a one year plan. I purchased a warranty with choice home before my previous home warranty expired so as not to have a lapse in coverage. They were about $300+ dollars cheaper than my previous home warranty. I was upfront with the sale lady and informed her that two of my ac units were original to my home which was built in 1995. She informed me not to worry that choice home would cover my ac units. Well, a month into having the warranty, one of my ac coils went bad. I called them and they sent out a tech. He didn't want to even look at the unit. His choice of action was to charge me $120 for a float shut off and not even diagnose what was wrong with the ac unit. After I asked him to diagnose the issue he informed me that choice home warranty would deny the claim no matter what. I even heard his boss tell him on the phone that choice home would deny the claim. When I talked to choice home today, they called me a liar and accused me of committing fraud. I cancelled my policy only to be charged a $50 administrative fee that I was never informed of and a one month prorated charge. Over $80 for no help at all. It took me three phone calls and one month just two get a contract. I am going to report choice home to the texas state attorney. This company should be closed down.

Choice Home Warranty choice home warranty coverage of home air conditioner

After requesting repairs of my air conditioner it took this company a WEEK to decide that the
AC Compressor had failed for reasons other than "normal wear and tear" denying repairs (Clause A2). The unit was more than 20+ years old and the compressor failed in the middle of a Heat Wave leaving my invalid wife and elderly mother-in-law without AC for A WEEK before deciding the AC compressor could not have failed from "NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR" after more than twenty years of service. A rotating piece of electronic equipment with sealed bearings does not just decide to freeze. IT WEARS OUT! How is that NOT "normal wear and tear"? Just learned Choice Home Warranty is NOT BBB accredited.

This also happen to me to they came out for 2 months for ac issues I was having then it finally went out because they just bandage it and I had to pay for a whole new system out of pocket. They told me not normal wear and tear, ummm then why did it work for 2 months from the first call in Feb, still working in March with second call and then found grounded in April... These people are LAIRS discussing.

Choice Home Warranty a/c unit

In August of 2016 I put in a claim # [protected], and they came out and replace a compacitor. How ever it was only a bandaid because it still did not blow as cold as my other unit, had it's compressor replace two years prior by anothther Home Warranty Company. By the way we left them because an acquaintance recommended Choice, stating they were better. I now regret that decision. Both units are Carrier Units and are 21 years old. I did some investigative reading of complaints against Choice and discovered 90% of them all read the, claim denied due to improper maintenance. Hog wash. I change filters every two months. Not sure what else I can do. My specific complaint is in two parts. #1 Unsatisfactory Work with Unsatisfactory Results. #2 During conversation with a customer service representative, while trying to explain my concerns, I received an argumentative and rude response ultimately resulting in a hang up ending discussion, leaving me with a dangerously high Blood Preassure. I do not anticipated any satisfaction from this company, however it is sad that I'm locked in for 3 Years since we stupidly paid in advance.

I thought this was to protect home owners f ry on unnecessary expenses. When you denied my AC claim [protected] yesteray it was the last straw. I am telling everybody I know to stay as far away from your group as possible, it's all a scam.

Choice Home Warranty wouldn't pay to replace my a/c unit

I filed a complaint against Choice Home Warranty last week because they denied my claim to fix or replace my 26 year old a/c. They said that the claim was denied because I did not maintain the unit properly. I did some research and found that the average life expectancy of an a/c unit in Arizona lasts between 12 - 15 years. Mine lasted 26 years which is amazing! Therefore had I not serviced it annually, there is no way it would have lasted that long! If a person lives to be 100 will they be blamed for dying due to lack of maintenance? I also sent Choice receipts of service calls for the past 7 years just to be proactive and make sure they wouldn't try to deny the claim. They never even looked at the receipts and still accused me of the freon leaking being a result of lack of maintenance! I was outraged and that is when I filed a complaint with the AG. I continued to reach out to them and spoke to a senior claims specialist by the name of Russ. He was very upset and barked at me "You contacted the AG's office?" He offered me $1, 500 as "goodwill." I told him that would not cover the cost of replacing an a/c unit. Their ads claim that appliances regardless of age will be repaired or replaced. He then told me to read the fine print that $1, 500 is the maximum amount they will pay out stated in the contract. I am attaching a couple of paragraphs of their advertisement stating clearly that replacement is an option if the unit can't be fixed. There is no way that an a/c can be replaced for anything less than $3, 000...and that would be a very cheap a/c unit. It has been 110 degrees this week in AZ and I had to finally purchase an a/c. I called in my claim last Friday and was jerked around all weekend. I doubt they will even pay for the $125 emergency service call from last Saturday evening. They gave me an emergency authorization claim number to have an outside company come to try to fix the unit. I had to purchase a unit that cost me over $5, 000. I would have accepted $3, 000 and added to that amount to get a better quality unit. I wouldn't expect them to install a high quality unit. Here is the verbiage from one of their ads which I think is deceptive:

"Air Conditioning Repair or Replacement with Home Warranty

With the assurance that your air conditioner is covered, the next big question is whether your home warranty will repair or replace your air conditioning unit. Your air conditioner technician will always try to repair your air conditioning unit first, if possible. Any time an HVAC unit can be repaired, it will be. But if your HVAC unit is beyond repair, your warranty also includes the installation of a replacement unit.

How to Get Your Air Conditioner Repaired with Home Warranty

If your air conditioner is struggling, not working, or needs service, call the Choice Home Warranty claims department 24/7/365 at [protected], or submit your claim online. You will be required to pay a $60 trade service fee for the claim directly to the technician. The technician will assess your air conditioning problem and take the necessary steps to repair or replace your HVAC unit so that it is in good working order and your home can cool down to a comfortable temperature."

My claim is now for FALSE and DECEPTIVE advertising! Russ told me it was my fault that I didn't read the fine print in the contract claiming $1, 500 is the maximum amount paid out but their ad clearly states REPLACEMENT if the unit can't be fixed. That is a huge contradiction and bait and switch fraudulent advertising in my opinion.

I had my claim escalated to Tracy Mleczynski who is the mediator and assistant to the President of Choice. Their company refused to give me the President's contact information. I did see three principals of the company named in a judgement from 2015 through your office penalizing them for almost $800, 000. It appears that their advertising and deceptive ways have not changed! Tracy was supposed to call me Monday afternoon but I never heard from her. I called and emailed several times on Tuesday and was promised she would call me back yesterday but she never did. Additionally, it appears she BLOCKED my email so she would no longer have to correspond with me. I think that is outrageous and extremely unprofessional. I want her to explain to me why their advertising claiming replacement contradicts what the contract says. Tracy's email is:[protected]@choicehomewarranty.com. They want me to settle for $1, 500 which Tracy claims is "good will." I think it's a bunch of baloney! They need to back their REPLACEMENT claim. I will not settle for less than $3, 000. Your help would be appreciated. I think it is deplorable to cheat consumers. I have read so many complaints online about customers being cheated just like me.

I think it is imperative to file online complaints to the AG's office in NJ and your state! They were sued by the NJ AG's office to pay out $780, 000 and change their business practices. They haven't apparently.

I have been going back and forth with Tracy, the mediator for Choice who is the assistant to the president. She told me if I didn't accept the $1, 500 by today, the offer would be retracted. She had to reply to the AG's office in AZ today and wanted to let them know that I settled and retracted my complaint. I will not be bullied. The offer was made and I should be able to take it if I choose.

Choice Home Warranty air conditioning

Purchased home warranty, after a month and a week my airconditioning broke. Called Home choice warranty to fix the Air con. They sent a company to look at the issue.
The discovered a leak... the home choice warranty refused to pay for a leak test claiming that a leak test is part of maintenance? They agrees to pay half the cost. I refused. Based on the contract they should be fizing the airconditioning. How can a leak test be part of maintenance?
I ended up cancellin the contract.
The person from the cancellation department would not let me speak my mind cut me off at all times then cancelled the contract. The are stating I should receive a refund which means I lost 92$ brackish of cancelation.
Also I Paid Over $700 In Repairs!

Choice Home Warranty refusal to repair/replace coil in air conditioning unit

Put Freon in air conditioning unit April 28 but called them back in late May due to unit blowing hot air. Came out on June 1 and charged me for a leak test ( $160) and technician took a picture of the coil in the furnace (inside my house) and sent it to Choice Home Warranty. I got an email back from Choice Home Warranty before my tech even left the house telling me to call them ASAP.

Of course when I called they denied the claim because CHW said the coil was rusted. The coil is inside in a 32 year old furnace. Obviously the coil would have rust from the freon leak and the age of unit.

I was quoted $2400 by the tech to replace the air conditioning unit. I contacted CHW and initially spoke to a rep who informed me it said in my contract they don't cover rust.( It should say they don't cover much of anything as it seems they will only pay for very minor repairs according to all the comments on this site).

My tech never gave them a report, only a picture, so they looked at a picture and someone who is NOT trained in HVAC repair indicated that it looked like rust so no coverage...but the unit is 32 years old and anything that old would need replaced!

My husband called on Friday June 2 and was told there was no supervisor to speak to by the person who answered the phone at CHW. I called back and asked to speak to a supervisor on Monday June 5 and after telling them I would file a clam with the Department of Consumer Affairs and contact a lawyer, was connected with someone named "Andy" who repeatedly told me, " We are the highest rated Home Warranty Company" and "We have less than 1% complaints."

Finally, Andy asked what would make me happy and I said I wanted him to pay for the coil which was old and leaking freon and he continued to say, I cannot do that. Then he went on a tirade about how he should not have to pay me anything because he had to pay the contractor to do his job.

I told him I believed the tech did do his job but that CHW did not do theirs. Again, I had to listen to all the reasons he could not pay me anything. Finally I said that he would hear from my attorney when he said, " What will make you happy and offered to pay $160 for the leak test, 60 dollars for the visit and $48 dollars for the monthly fee, but stated I had to first sign a contract he was sending me.
HERE IS THE CONTRACT:
1. Release. For the consideration described below, Releaser hereby releases and discharges all claims against
Release from any and all causes of action, complaints, judgments, claims, or demands for damages, costs, expenses,
attorneys’ fees, consequential damages, punitive damages, statutory damages, or any other loss or claim whatsoever,
whether known or unknown, which it has, or may have, against Release arising from the subject matters that have
been or could have been raised in the Dispute, provided that Release fulfill their obligations under this Agreement.
2. Disclosure. By signing below Releaser, acknowledges and affirms that all previous disputes and complaints are
fully remedied. Releaser will affirm when contacted by third party agencies (ie. YELP, BBB or others to that affect.)
Further, Releaser grants Choice Home Warranty the ability to disclose and represent details of settlement.
3. Non – Disparagement : Releaser agree not to make any statements, written or verbal, or cause or encourage
others to make any statements, written or verbal, that defame, disparage or in any way criticize the personal or
business reputation, practices, or conduct Choice Home Warranty. Releaser acknowledges and agrees that this
prohibition extends to statements, written or verbal, made to anyone, including but not limited to, the news media,
investors, strategic partners, vendors, employees (past and present), and clients.
4. CHW Obligations. In consideration of the release recited above, Release agrees to provide the Releaser with a
reimbursement in the amount of $268.33 in 30 business days from receipt by Releaser.

So now in order to even get a measly $268.33, they want me to stop telling the truth AND wait for 30 days.

Does this company think everyone they are dealing with is as ignorant as they are? Whereas most companies would go to great lengths to keep a customer, CHW is so low, they have to resort to PAYING people NOT to be their customers.

There needs to be Huge Class Action against this company. They are ripping off people daily who are paying monthly or annually for what they think will be covered claims.

The worst is there are even contractors who filed reports saying they did not get paid by CHW. Surely there are some laws that keep companies from this from continuing to operate.

It will cost us nearly $5000 out of pocket to replace our air conditioning unit.

I encourage EVERYONE to take to social media and voice your experiences with this company. They have a FACEBOOK page and there are many complaint and rip off sites to voice your experience. In addition you can file a complaint with the BBB.

I hope an attorney steps up to the plate and wants to take on this shyster.
There looks to be a pattern with what CHW chooses to cover and what they won't regardless of reason. I would love to see the total of what they pay out versus what they take in because it appears they give the same story to so many people.

Shame on CHW...Karma is coming!

Choice Home Warranty choice home warranty, fully lacking lab at best customer service personnel

Greetings, As of one minute ago, I/We had been customers/clients of Choice Home Warranty!. Over the past two to three days, all that I have been dealt by two customer service representatives I had spoken with, as well as one supervisor; And then, when I called the Cancellation Department of this very company, the person whom I had the utmost DIS-Pleasure with having to speak with, simply did *Not* desire to listen to what my concerns actual are/were; Whereas the cancellation department representative just wants to do *ALL* the speaking, and Zero listening; And when this person did listen to me, she simply could not fully appreciate what it had been that had caused me/us to cancel our home warranty policy with Choice Home Warranty; Whereas the rep from the cancellation department, simply forged ahead on her mission of protecting the previous Choice Home Warranty customer service personnel, which I had endured the Fully UN-Satisfactory Customer service from to begin with; And then the very same Ineptitude from the cancellation department representative which did not care enough to Genuinely Listen, and to Genuinely Hear what it is/had been, that was my concern to begin with!. All of the aforementioned "Did In Fact" take place, while my wife had been listening to the more than one conversations which had taken place, with my wife listening in on the conversation(s) on another phone in our home!.

Additionally, I had/have *Fully Recorded* ALL of the telephone conversations which had taken place, between myself, and that of the aforementioned representatives of Choice Home Warranty!. From this point forward, *ALL* of the recorded conversation(s) shall be forwarded to our Attorney(s), and our Attorney's Associates, in order that, the CEO of Choice Home Warranty be brought fully aware of just how rudely inept more than one of his/her employees actually are!.

Choice Home Warranty's customer *NON-Customer Service Oriented Personnel*; Are by far the worst of the worst types of people, one could ever have the MISS-Fortune of ever having to speak with!.

Choice Home Warranty thermador refrigerator

Worst service ever. A technician was dispatched on 4/26 to check why my system wasn't cooling/freezing. His diagnosis was the compressor and he would order it asap. After a week, I hadn't heard from him so I texted and called with no response. Three weeks later, I file another claim, same issue, with Choice Home Warranty. The technician this time didn't take the unit out of the built in cabinet just checked the temperature. He said the bottom freezer had a loose spot on the gasket which was causing the unit not to freeze. This shouldn't affect the top refrigerator cooling. The technicians who work for the company are awful and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. If you are considering this company then don't. You will be disappointed when then deny your claim and your appliance is still broken.

Choice Home Warranty water heater

Just tried to submit a claim to have my water heater replaced. Come to find out they don't cover the 'tank'.

Each time I have tried to submit a claim with this company, it is denied. If I weren't so upset, some of the excuses for exclusion would be laughable.

Basically it boils down to the fact that this company doesn't cover anything that a reasonable person would expect should be covered and if it is covered, they will find some way to 'exclude' your claim.

I purchased a five year contract with Choice Home Warranty and am less than a year into it. I would like my contract to be cancelled and to receive a pro-rated refund. I know, dream on. Instead I will make it my mission to write as many negative reviews as possible.

Home warranties are flim flam. Several realtors I know just say "just skip it. Money thrown to the wind." Good luck getting out of it. I hear many of them are like those gyms - once you give them your credit card - you're in it for life (or until you cancel that card).

Choice Home Warranty refrigerator repair

When I purchased Choice Home Warranty it was after I had quizzed the salesman extensively. As a former real estate broker I had purchased home warranties for my buyers as a gift for doing business with me. Yes, it was expensive but in the long run it saved me lots of money and bad feelings from clients.

However, I have been informed by todays real estate brokers that the product I purchased has been down graded to what is now almost a scam.
I was wary. After being told the product was reliable, the contract was black an white as to coverages - although you never see the contract until AFTER you agree to purchase - I finally took the word of the salesman and paid for the product - a three year contract.

After approximately 45 days I called to report a claim on my refrigerator. It was making strange knocking noises that it had never made before and the ice was only 1/2 of an ice cube. A service man came out, determined the problem and said he would call me back after speaking with Choice. He called the next day with instructions for me to call Choice. They were not going to cover the problem. Stating there was no way this problem could occur within the time frame of the warranty. They told the serviceman not to order the part and not to make the repair. When I called again and spoke with a different person they negotiated with me to pay 1/2 half of the bill and estimated the amount.

Having no idea of the cost of the repair or the part I was hesitant to agree to any dollar amount. I spoke with the service man who then stated he was no longer working with Choice as he had discovered it was not the same company he ha previously worked with and he did not like the way they were treating customers.

Almost 7 months later my refrigerator is still making 1/2 ice cubes. I am going to give Choice one more try and if I get the same run around or no run around at all I guess it is to small claims court I go.

I would like to know if anyone has had a successful repair with Choice Home Warranty.

Choice Home Warranty non-coverage of a/c evaporator due to fraudulent practice

Choice Home Warranty Legal Department and District Attorney:

My overall position is that:

1. Choice advertising leads any reasonable person to believe that a very old Air-conditioner will be covered, when in fact their very real hidden policy is never to cover ANY old A/C evaporator coil, which is a key and expensive A/C component. Choice upper management agrees that all, even young, evaporator coils exhibit corrosion, and yet stands by its unreasonable denial of coverage based on ANY corrosion.

2. Choice operates in a fraudulent manner, falsifying causation reports of A/C technicians as “rust and corrosion” when in fact the technician reports the CAUSE as “normal wear and tear.” My technician reported the cause as normal wear and tear to the Choice representative. The Choice representative falsified the conversation as the technician reporting the CAUSE to be “rust and corrosion.” The technician reported this interaction with Choice to me twice.

3. Choice intentionally seeks to make it difficult for consumers to seek resolution for their disputes. The pattern of obfuscation, miss-directions, misstatements, nonsense email responses, unreasonably long hold times, multiple hand-offs to multiple representatives, and stone-walling, are evidence of this fact.

4. Even if the corrosion exclusion being applied to my case wasn’t unreasonable, Choice is required to show per their policy that my leak is DUE TO corrosion. The CAUSE must be corrosion. Choice has not done that, yet denies my claim anyway.

5. Choice also buries a limit of $1500 per system/unit repair/replace in their exclusions (I just discovered.) This was never disclosed to me by the sales person, instead when I asked if the A/C coverage was good, they gave me wholehearted assurance. Their own website loudly proclaims a typical cost of A/C repairs as being ~$3600 to ~$7200 -- so you better get Choice! Clearly they cannot replace a complete home A/C inside / outside unit for that cost, leaving the consumer to foot the remaining bill! When I asked the supervisor about this, she got very defensive (is this in court at this point?) and claimed that they indeed CAN replace a complete A/C unit for $1500 due to their buying power. I dispute this. American Home Shield replaced one of my A/C units. The cost was more than $3000 to them per the technicians, which is still very cheap! This is more than likely yet another fraudulent practice and could easily be shown as such by obtaining Choice’s own records to see how much consumers have to pay in the case of complete A/C unit replacements.

SUMMARY
This is all adds up to a particularly egregious conspiracy to commit consumer fraud. First, Choice claims vociferously to cover ALL OLD A/C. Choice knows that old A/C evaporators have some amount of corrosion and are expensive to replace. So Choice makes a policy designed to deny those claims based on “Corrosion” being the CAUSE. But the wording has to be that the CAUSE of the problem (a leak in my case) is rust/corrosion, not just that rust/corrosion are found. Well, showing that corrosion is the CAUSE is going to be very expensive indeed for an evaporator, so they decide just to ignore trying to find a CAUSE and rely on finding a symptom instead. Fraud. Now, since technicians know that ALL old evaporators have corrosion, they commonly report the CAUSE of a leak as “normal wear and tear.” PROBLEM for Choice! So at that point Choice again has to act to keep their scheme going, so they incent Choice authorization staff to ALWAYS make the assumption of rust and corrosion as being the CAUSE, and falsify it if it’s not reported that way by the technician, which was falsified in my case! If all this wasn’t enough, I just discovered that they bury a $1500 limit in their exclusions, which would not even replace a lot of refrigerators, let alone a complete home Air Conditioning system! FRAUD, FRAUD, and more FRAUD!

Meanwhile choice turns up the dials on their marketing machine even further and rakes in the cash for their owners from unsuspecting people like me until the whole corrupt enterprise collapses and the owners flee the country. I pity the business managers, lawyers, and line employees who are going to have to through the court proceedings and possibly go to jail for their part in this scheme. Maybe a whistleblower would get leniency. I’d like to see the multiple homes, cars, and jets the business owners must be enjoying right now given the huge scale of their fraudulent enterprise.

Choice Home Warranty a/c compressor

On Saturday, 20 May, my A/C kept kicking off the circuit breaker in my home. I contacted CHW to file a claim. According to them, they send out a request and who ever responds first is who you get. A company replied within 20 minutes, I was like "awesome" until I called "said" company and they were closed until Monday @0900. Why respond? Contacted the servicing company and was told a technician couldn't come out until Tuesday, between 8 - 12. Took off from work and waited. Finally the tech shows up at 1:15pm. He went out to the A/C unit. Initially he said, it looks like your coolant, I guarantee they won't cover it. He stated they hadn't covered the last two houses he visited. He said, as often as he gets called out for A/C units they have only covered one. I have held up my end of the contract agreement so they should hold up there's. I read the fine print and no where does it say it won't cover an A/C compressor. It excludes the compressor casing. I spoke with one of their reps Latisha and she stated ALL my parts and components were covered, because I have the Full package not the Basic one. So either they are ALL lying or this company is a Big Scam. My claim #[protected]. I spoke to a senior rep Mercedes who stated it wasn't covered because the issue was considered normal wear and tear. Their sites states to use a home warranty repair service to cover repairs of properly maintained household appliances and mechanical systems that fail during normal wear and tear. But as a showing of good faith they could give me $200. I informed her that won't even cover the technician fees. Why should I have to pay for any of it, if you tell me my parts and components are covered. Then, I spoke to another senior rep Kendra who stated she could give me $350, am I playing poker here? She however did state she would try and find a cheaper compressor so I wouldn't have to pay so much. Still not understanding why I have to pay anything. Your ad states if we can't fix it, we'll replace it. Not if we figure out a way not to pay we won't. So, PLEASE replace it. I live in the South and it's starting to get really hot outside. It would probably be better to take the $40 monthly fee and put it into an interest bearing savings account so when you need the money you can pay for it yourself. I don't have $700 lying around for a compressor that's why I signed up for this service. At least Home Shield will replace your units. As I started reading most of the complaints for May a large majority are complaints regarding A/C units. I would please like to resolve this before it gets too hot. I would like to thank Kendra for at least trying to assist. I haven't heard anything back as of today. Thank you!

Choice Home Warranty dishwasher

I had written a positive report earlier today on the expeditiousness in the handling and diagnosis in the above repair between 5/16/17 - 5/18/17
However, since the appliance tech told me that he could have had the part in and repaired today however, he was told by CHW not to order or buy the part they would order and send to him which they, CHW, said would take up to 5 days for the technician to get they part from them.
This is just a dishwasher repair which is inconvenient, can you imagine being without heat in the dead of winter for that time.
I have cancelled my account with CHW and will never recommend their services

Whatever company you go to for a warranty, DO NOT GO TO CHOICE HOME WARRANTY. Their a FRAUD and their liars. When you place an order for a repair, they send a technicians out, he reports to CHW and 3 to 4 weeks later you call again to find out what they were going to do with your non working dishwasher so they can tell you to read another paragraph in your warranty, then they tell you that they will not be purchasing a new appliance to replace your broken one and they could not fix. Then they want to offer you a minimum amount of money. DO NOT BUY THE CHOICE HOME WARRANTY.

Choice Home Warranty repairs not made & they had no intention of making a repair

Run from this company. They are frauds. When I requested my money back (Half a year left on $375 policy along with $45 for tech visit without fixing my refrigerator). They said they would give me $75 back though half a year remained on the contract and this was my first and only claim. To fix the refrigerator would cost $550, that's what their technician said. And chw said it was my fault. They were willing to give me $100 to fix the unit. After spending $425 on them already (Policy & visit for tech help) to learn i'd have to spend$550 more for the refrigerator to work, this is a fake. Run and don't look back. State of nj had over $750, 00 fraud charges they had to pay. Didn't know that when I signed up.

Choice Home Warranty water heater claim

Called CHW Thursday May 11 after noticing water by the water heater. The water heater is a covered item. Tech came the next day and determined the water heater needs replacement. CHW denied the claim since they do not cover the tank, How can you cover the water heater and not the tank. This is a integrated unit with a sealed tank not an auxiliary tank.

Deceptive and useless coverage. They even have a ad using their coverage of water heaters saving you money on expensive repairs.

I tried resolving this with customer service speaking with two "Supervisors". They need to either pay for the reapir or give a full refund if they refuse to pay for repairs.

They need to

Choice Home Warranty a/c leak

Greetings,

On May 12, 2017, I submitted a claim for my A/C. I explained there was no cool air blowing from my ducts. I received the claim number [protected]. As a lasting and hopefully long time future customer, I would like consideration into my non-repairable A/C leak issue that has been explained that a new unit or system is needed. Choice Home Warrant senior claim specialist Bree stated they cannot move forward with my claim due to the notations on my claim. The notations discovered there was a leak in my A/C coil, due to corrosion and rust and the policy does not cover rust or corrosion. Bree stated that Choice Warranty cannot move forward with my claim.

On May 15, at approximately 9 a.m., Oliver's A/C & Heating [protected]) came by my residents and conducted tests on the A/C unit to find there was an A/C leakage that he explained is unrepairable. The technician from Oliver's A/C stated further that my A/C is an outdated unit (R22) and it would cost around $2900 to replace with a 407C for the outside unit. In addition, the technician stated since my system is very old, the entire system should be replaced with a mentioned model 410A, which would cost around $6, 000.

On May 15, at approximately 9:3 am, I called in to Choice Home Warranty to find that a leak test protection is not covered under warranty. The cost of a leak test is $70 Dollars. The agent at Choice stated that the technician should gather information such as make/model, serial number and pictures of the A/C unit for the claim for more results.

Speaking with the claims specialist, was a cold and calloused straightforward conversation that I would have not expected from news such as this. This is normal wear and I do not understand why this isn't covered. Coils sweat due to constant transfer of heat and normal wear and tear and is also apart of corrosion by rain etc. There has got to be a way to settle my claim without me coming 100% out of pocket being a loyal on time paying customer. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Robert E. Holliday
