My 15 year old daughter has CRAZY curly hair. She hates it. We decided to get it permanently straightened with something called the Chi hair straightening. It is a type of Japanese hair straightening that is supposed to be SUPER effective. We paid about 6OO $ for it. We walked out of the salon with it curly and frizzy. She was crying and very upset. When it gets wet it goes RIGHT back to how it used to be. We were so excited. And it turned out like f*ckin [censored]. =]

My hir has also been completely destroyed by a CHI straightening tratment. It cut some part of my hair to the roots and what was left is just fried. I paid U$400.00 to have my hair ruined :((((

Stay away from CHI Shampoo! My mom got the Chi treatment at a salon, and was soo excited she bought the entire chi line which consisted of the ( chi shampoo, silk infusion, keratin mist ). She used it for about 3 months and noticed her hair thinning and gave the rest of it to me, i gladly excepted thinking that this was all in her head, and began using it after using the shampoo several times, i noticed my own hair getting thin and short! i have thrown away the shampoo the rest i did not use consistenly but the shampoo i always use and contributed that to my hair thinning. I am now looking into Ovation cell therapy i have heard some really great things about it, and hopefully i can grow back the hair i lost! PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM CHI SHAMPOO!

I had my hair permanently straightened with the Chi system and at first it was great. Then, after a few washes, it literally started to come out in huge chunks! My stylist said it was normal but then I realized that all of my cowlicks had broken off and I had basically a mohawk running down the middle of my head and random other spots.

I have lost about 1/4 of my hair, if not more, and luckily I have thick hair to begin with so I've been able to cover the short parts that are growing back up until now. The chunks were short enough that you couldn't really see them they just sort of made my hair poofy on top. I have been humiliated because if the wind blows my hair, I've had pieces that stick straight up in the air and I won't know until I catch a reflection.

Now, it has grown about 4 inches since I had it done in Dec. and the chunks are growing in curly, my natural texture and it looks like I have a mullet! I can only get them to go straight for a short period of time, then they kink up. I am so pissed, it takes me MORE time and costs more money in products now to make it look presentable when all I was trying to do was save myself time and money. The parts that didn't fall out are great, they are straight and don't require much effort, but it certainly hasn't been worth the aggravation and embarrassment it has caused me. I can't wear a ponytail, I can't put it up at all, I have to mat my hair down to make it look somewhat normal and check it to make sure pieces aren't randomly sticking up. I have been driven to tears many times. God forbid there's any humidity because my hair looks like complete ###. People comment, it's bad... Don't do it! I'm not sure if it's because my stylist screwed up or what, she said she's never seen this before (of course) but unless you want to wait a year to look normal again, opt out of the Chi f*cking straightening system, it has been a total nightmare. Chi my ###!
