THIS IS A UPDATE TO MY LAST POST. I HAD TWO GIVE UP MY TWO CHESAPEAKE BAY RETRIEVERS DO TO THE LOURA WAID THE OWNER OF CHES-SHORES WOULD NOT GIVE ME A BREEDER PAPERS TO THE TWO CHESAPEAKES I BOUGHT FROM HER AND SHE PROMISED TOO. THIS WOMAN CAN'T BE TRUSTED. I HAD TO GO ONLINE AND TALK CRAP ON HER BUSNIESS ANDSHE FINALLY DECIDED TO GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK. I DID NOT WANT MY MONEY I JUST WANTED WHAT I PAID FOR. I HAD MY CHESAPEAKE FOR OVER A MONTH AND THE WHOLE FAMILY FELL IN LOVE WITH HIM AND SHE RIPPED HIM OUT OF OUR HEARTS AND HOME DUE TO HE HAD NO PAPERS FOR HIM. IT WAS THE HARDEST THING I AD TO DO TO RETURN THEM TO HER. SHE KEEPS HER DOGS IN THE BASEMENT OF HER HOME. WHEN I BOUGHT MY DOG FROM HER HE WAS FULL OF STINK OF CRAP WHERE HE WAS NOT HOUSE TRAINED. I TRAINED HIM FOR INSIDE HOME NOW POOR DOG WILL BE BACK IN BASE MENT. PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE IF YOU WANT A CHESAPEAKE. THEY HAVE LIKE 20 BREEDER DOGS AND THEY ARE KEEP IN LITTLE KENNELS IN BASEMENT

I purchased a Chessie from Loura Waid, Teddy Graham, he is the most amazing animal I have ever had. He is beyond intelligent. Beyond healthy, and no vaccines other than rabies. He is a prolific swimmer and loves water ... any water. He is the most amazing child companion and the most beautiful dog anywhere we go.

I often take him to the farmers markets and he is stoic and is the best behaved animal there even with human-animals. His knowledge and situational awareness is the best I have ever seen with no training. He will execute interdiction with the 10-12 yr old children walking him, he uses his power and ability with complete control for protection.

His emotional intelligence is crazy off the charts. He is 9 yrs old and in great health, an can hike 12/15 miles in a day and he will never miss a beat. He is a TALKER ... and communicates all the time, and believes he is a human ...

This dog is an angel ... sent from the universe to walk with us through life ... Thank You Loura Waid, my children are better for having Graham in their lives. Like any designer of life, you have choices to make and are not always sure where this activity will take us, not all of us will walk a perfect path of bliss. But if we try we will leave here knowing we tried to make the world a better place.

I too purchased a Chessie from Loura Waid, I saw and heard the dogs in her basement, maybe she does not call it a basement but she keeps dogs in a place other then the picture shown above.
I did not know it at the time but I brought home a very sick dog. After 3 months of vet visits I finally had Gracie healthy and happy. The vet said her illness was do to dirty conditions.
Gracie is now 5 years old and doing well and lucky for me she is the best Chessie I have owned (4th one). She is beautiful and so smart, she is amazing. Because Gracie is so well mannered and has a great prey drive I am asked all the time who was the breeder, I will not tell anyone.
I agree with the others here do not trust her, I would never recommend her as a breeder. I tried to add a photo but not sure if it attached.

I knew we couldn’t possibly be the ONLY ones that have suffered the devastating loss of one of HER Chessie’s. We lost our Piper Belle early in January of this year, at only 4 years old. Suffering from debilitating form of Lupus. I am hoping and praying that she no longer breeding. Looks as though her site has been taken down as well. Do your research.

I agree with Brian Adams. Loura's dogs are a family's nightmare! We have 5 year old male, who suffers from seizures weekly. Our female, who is no longer with us, only lived to be 3 years old, died from liver disease. Thousands and thousands of dollars later, we took Loura to court, asking for our money back, but because we signed a contract, the only options were to return the dog to her for a new one ( which we refused). We wanted to keep the female comfortable for as long as possible until she passed; which she did over the winter. As we rushed her heavy breathing, lethargic self to the vet, we knew we didn't have much time with her. She died in the backseat before we could make it. My husband carried her stiff, lifeless body to the doors of the vet office. She was seen by an emergency doctor and confirmed dead. Her death was traumatizing to our whole family.

I don't doubt she will come on here and talk about how vaccines killed my female, and is now giving my male seizures. We can agree to disagree, on that. The thing that cannot be argued, is we lost a family member at only 3 years of age, and have to hold our 5 year old male while he shakes and looks terrified having a seizure. To Loura, this is just a business. But to all the families out there, who think of dogs as family, these situations are devastating. Please think twice before purchasing a dog from her, otherwise you might be sitting here writing the same thing.

, , , or, not.
Happy 10th birthday to my beautiful ChesShores [censored], who is titred rather than over vaccinated, and never given top spots.

There are two sides to every story. Brian Adams misrepresented himself and was trying to buy my two chessies for his "breeding business" out of Delmar, Delaware. So here is the reaApril 1 2013
Dear Scambook.com:
My name is Loura Waid and I have been an owner/breeder of Chesapeake Bay retrievers since approximately February 1990. Likewise, I am a Breeder of Merit with American Kennel Club; as well as I am a member with the American Chesapeake Club, Pinelands Retriever Club, Del Bay Retriever Club, and Irish Water Spaniel Club of America. My husband and I are Professional Retriever trainers and we are actively involved with and compete in the sport of multiple AKC events.
During the past 24 years as an owner/breeder of Chesapeake Bay retrievers, I have never had any complaints. I am one of the top breeders in the world for this breed and my hard work and dedication shows why this is.
Recently; I trusted an individual who bought two of my chessies only to find out that he misrepresented himself which led me to re-purchase my two chessies. On February 17, 2013 I had sold one of my young male Chesapeake Bay retrievers to Brian Adams at 37951 Johns Way, Delmar, Delaware, 19940.
Mr. Adams had contacted me about wanting a Chesapeake Bay retriever and specifically said he was looking for a companion for he and his wife. I had offered one of my young males and had informed Mr. Adams that he was my pick male of the litter, but, his bite is not the best and so he cannot be used in my breeding program. After a series of questions was aswered Mr. Adams seemed like a good candidate for owning one of my Chessies and I agreed to allow Brian take the male mentioned above. Mr. Adams had mentioned to me that this was his first chessie.
Approximately four days later Mr. Adams mentioned wanting to purchase another male from me so that his new Chessie would have someone to play with. I explained that two male Chessies in the same household is not a good idea because of dominate issues. I did, however, suggest that a female would work out much better.
Then, Mr. Adams contacts me again and asked "do you have any older females that are retired that you want to rehome." So, I thought about it and I offered him a 2 1/2 year old. I did offer him a couple of purchase options with this female. He did not want to spend the money I was asking.
At some point Mr. Adams contacted me again and wanted to know if I had any retired females. I did offer him a six year old. A few days went by and then I heard from Mr. Adams again and stated that if I would be willing to sell the 2 1/2 year old for less than what I was asking, then he would like to pick her up the next day. Mr. Adams, on March 17, 2013, picked up the 2 1/2 year old.
On March 21, 2013, Mr. Adams contacted me again and said the following "we are thinking of buying one more female from you that is not related to Woody with breeding rights." I started growing concerned at this point.
On March 28, 2013, Mr. Adams contacted me again saying that he bought two more Chesapeake Bay retrievers and now he wants me to mentor him. So now I am really concerned, yet, confused because upon my first conversation with Mr. Adams was only looking for a male companion for he and his wife and he wanted a second Chessie as a play partner for the first.
It was at this point my husband suggested doing a Google search on Mr. Adams; and so I did. Once I discovered that Mr. Adams has/had a cattery business "Hairless Gems, " and he is breeding multiple other breeds, and has/had numerous complaints, it was at this point that I confronted Mr. Adams. He became defensive. I requested that he return my chessies for a full refund. He had paid $1, 200 for the male and $500 for the female. Mr. Adams wanted an additional $300 for his time and gas and I agreed to give him this amount. It was worth it to me to pay $300 over and beyond for the safe return to me and make sure my chessies were not part of any puppy mill operations.
After performing additional research and contacting the Chesapeake Bay retriever community, the word was quickly out that Mr. Adams is looking to buy multiple Chessies for his "Breeding Service" business. We discovered he had a website: http://www.chesapeakesrus.com of which he had listed my two chessies on his website as part of his breeding service.
Also found were several listings with puppies for sale from different breeds of dogs. Listing one: http://www.myadpost.com/rejectedpup/. Listing two: http://www.adpost.com/us/pets/208078/. Then I found this website with complaints: HairlessGems Cattery — Brian Adams. Within this complaint board there are several images revealing emails that had been communicated between Brian and others. In one of the images Brian makes threats about giving a computer virus.
This guy is not even a professional. What kind of person does this? He has serious issues and for a 37 year old man he sure does act extremely immature. Ok, so this is only my opinion.
The above information will follow with all of the emails that has transpired between Brian and myself.
If you need any further information I may be contacted at chesshores@rcn.com or [protected].
Sincerely,
Loura Waid
P.S. The attached photos are how my dogs are kept. And for the record, I don't have a basement.
