CheapOair bait and switch

June 2, 2008
When reservation was made the fare was listed at $138.00, during booking I was informed that fare was no longer available but I could book at $219.00. While at the same time I was looking at the Express Jet online booking page the fare was listed as $235.00, so save a few dollars and go with cheapoair.com. I received an email confirmation from cheapoair.com. I then checked the itinerary at the Express Jet website, everything was there and an Express Jet confirmation number was issued and to check in online 24 hours before flight.

June 5, 2008
My husband calls @ 8am to inform me he received a phone call stating his reservation has been canceled unless he pays an additional $106.00 to book the flight, which leaves WITHIN HOURS.

When I returned to the house, I also had a message about the reservation I assumed was from cheapoair.com although not one word was understandable because of the thick accent and the speed in which the woman was speaking, had I not received the phone call from my husband I would have deleted the message as a wrong number.
I then check my reservation for the customer service number and contacted a rep who informed me they had tried a number of times to book the ticket days after the reservation was made and that the fare is now higher and would I like to pay the $106.00 difference.

Why was I informed only hours before the flight, why was the ticket not purchased at the time of the reservation, and why is the ticket only $82.00 higher on the Express Jet website. This is a bait and switch operation and that is a practice which is not allowed in the United States. I see a class action heading their way and I will be a participating plaintiff.

They did the same thing to me. Fare no longer available. After charging my card without my consent and promissed a refund they chose to send me a voucher. Still over charged me 180.00. Now I have to go thru my CC company to get my money back. I have been purchasing airfare on line over 10 years for friends and family. This company is NOT trustworthy. Do not do buisness with them You will be sorry.

Cheap O air pull a similar stunt on me. On 11/3 I purchased 2 round trip tickets for $578 online with a debit card I use strictly for online purchases, linked to an account I keep limited funds in. When I received the confirmation the date for the return flight was wrong it was 11/24 instead of 11/26 (I still had my web page pulled up in a different window, so I knew I put in the correct date) . I called CheapOair, and was told the only tickets available for the date I was returning home were going to cost almost double what I had already paid! We went back & forth, I was telling the man I was speaking with I was looking at their web site and saw 8 pages of return flights for the date I was coming home within $50 of what I had paid. He said that was wrong, they were all sold out. Finally he agreed to a flight we could get on, on the date we needed it.

On 11/6 I attempted to make an online purchase with my debit card. Guess what I found out? CheapOair had replaced my original charge of $578 with a new charge of $828, and added charges of $50 and $48 and $1, bringing my total for those $578 tickets up to $927.

Repeated calls to CheapOair resulted in my being placed on hold for 67 minutes one time, 31 minutes another time, and never getting a live person a third time. Emails have gone unanswered except for the READ receipt coming back.

PLEASE let's get a Class Action Lawsuit going aganist these people!

Contact me at absnga@yahoo.com if there are any other interests in pursuing this.

CHEAPOAIR look out!

CheapOair fraud

There are too many unhappy customers out there. I for one would not allow anyone charging me for service and not delivering them and worst of all dodging the questions. We all pay for true and honest service and we are entitled to refunds until either they shut down or serve us (the customers) with respect and dignity.

Let’s put our efforts together and petition the company for remedy. We can also send the same to the NY’s state general attorney’s office for fraud and FTC for the same.

Here is the story: I purchase the ticket several months ago. A week before my departure date, cheapOair send me an email asking me to accept a flight change. I accept the new options/schedule the same date. The next day I called to their schedule change department and ask for my ticket (because I can't get the boarding pass without a ticket!), I was told to wait for 24 hours and they will call me back tomorrow to give me an update, so I waited for 24 hours and nobody called me back. I called CheapOair again and they said they've send an email to Air China and ask me to wait for another 24 hours and they will call me the next day for an update. Again they didn't call me so I called them back and was told nothing they can do, I need to wait for another 24 hours...So I have waited for 3 days at this point, and tomorrow is Friday and I am leaving Monday morning at 8am. If they didn't give me ticket again by tomorrow, there is no way I can get my ticket before my departure because Air China doesn't work over the weekend! I highly doubt I will even get my ticket before my departure. I bought two tickets from them, my 3 year old child ticket and myself, and they keep telling me there is nothing they can do. They can just wait to hear back from Air China, so I don't even know what to do at this point!

I will never ever use CheapOair again. They took my money several months ago and all I requested is to have my ticket!

I need to know how serious is this company, because you charged me 50 USD extra instead of deducting 50 USD for my booking, then withdrew extra 136.32 USD from my Master card ( 87.5 USD on 23/01/14, 36.6 USD + 12.22 USD on 28/01/14) with-out my knowlege.CheapOAir.com is a dishonest company and we can't believe to any of their words

I am writing to let you know that I am completely dissatisfied with the service I received through Cheapoair. I purchased tickets on 11/4/08 leaving from Orlando to Ottawa. I received a call four days later that they couldn't issue my tickets due to the price change. First off, I could barely understand the person that called me due to the language barrier so I had to hang up and call back. When I called back I was told that they contacted the airline and my tickets could not be issued. You should now allow people to enter their credit card information and give them a booking number if tickets cannot be issued. The gentleman I spoke with could not help me at all and said there was nothing he could do but possible get me other tickets for about $500 more. Working for a business myself we strive on maintaining good customer service, however, what I received from Cheapoair was beyond horrible. I was told that I needed to contact the airline. When I contacted them they informed me that their affiliation with Cheapoair was not very good and that they recommend that I don't purchase tickets through you. You simply take screen shots of their pricing and attempt to purchase the tickets while not keeping current with the pricing changes. This I feel is not good business practice. I ended up purchasing the exact same tickets through the airline directly for almost the exact same price with great service. When I called Cheapoair to let them know to be sure everything was cancelled they informed me they would charge me $24 each ticket which was non-refundable. This is a disgrace. You cannot provide me with the tickets but yet you can charge me a fee? This is fraud. The person I spoke to by the name of Andrew advised me there would be no charge and my flight would be cancelled after I had to argue wi th him for several minutes. I have also informed my credit card company that any charge of the sort is fraudulent and not to allow it to pass through. I am very dissapointed that such a popular website would provide such horrible service. I hope that you can improve in this area as I wouldn't want someone to experience what I had to experience today.

I bought their flight insurance! What a scam this is, they work together so you can not collect a dime. Some airlines will not give you flight cancellation documentation, which you need for to make a claim, on top of a long list of other documents you need. After 6 hours of getting no where I am writing this. DO NOT USE CHEAPO OR BUY THEIR INSURANCE.

wow; i think that its absolutely ridiculous that certain people (see above) would go to such great lengths to make such a huge deal when they really know for an absolute fact that they are absolutely wrong!

as the replier stated seats are not guaranteed. this person is assuming he is guaranteed a non guaranteed seat, and then when it is confirmed it is not guaranteed, he doesnt care to listen to the facts, he just simply argues and whines and pouts like a little baby.

this is the problem with america; narcissistic babies who think the world owes them something, and so they go around pooping on everybodies life to make themselves feel better about their pathetic issues.

CheapOAir.com is a dishonest company and we can't believe to any of their words. All they do is lie to you to charge you unauthorised fees, charges, and cancelation fees. Don't trust them period. We need to get together and file complaints everywhere we can to stop these predatory tactics.

I believe I have a significant problem with the way in which Cheapoair handled my reservations with WestJet. I include herewith correspondence pertaining to this matter. In addition I have difficulty in understanding why, after dealing with WestJet only on my reservation, I received an e-mail from Cheapoair providing my Booking Receipt and Confirmation. This doesn’t seem right!

In addition to the e-mail to Cheapoair of today’s date I include the following from Cheapoair:

From: cheapoair@cheapoair.com
Date: 11/18/2008 12:31:39 PM
To: maurice_t@shaw.ca
Subject: Your booking 1616269 on Cheapoair.com has been canceled.

Dear Maurice Thomas,

Please note that the travel insurance that you may have purchased on your original reservation can not be transferred to any new reservation and is non-refundable. Also note that the service fees that you incurred on your original reservation are non-refundable.

Since you are a valued client, any tickets that were issued against the above mentioned reservation will be canceled and a refund will be credited back to your credit card account. Please allow up to four weeks for the credit to appear on your statement.

Subject: Trip Purchases

I am massively ticked off at CHEAPOAIR. I made two separate reservations for me and my wife departing Edmonton on different dates for Barbados but returning on the same day. First, I receive the following e-mail:

Dear Maurice Thomas,

Thank you for choosing Cheapoair.Com.

This is in reference to booking # 1616321

We have received a message from the airline that they are unable to confirm your flights at the price quoted when you made your reservations on-line.

Airfares and inventory change throughout the day based on demand. Airlines reserve the right to modify them at any time. We monitor these changes closely and make every effort to keep our fare displays as current as possible. Sometimes the fare difference is the result of a technical issue with a specific airline.

We have searched our data base of over 100 million flight options including 18 million of our own negotiated, exclusive and wholesale airfares on more than 350 carriers and have found suitable alternative flights.

In order to confirm the new itinerary, we are asking that you contact us at [protected] or email us at tkt@cheapoair.Com.

Because these fares are only available for a limited time, we ask that you call us immediately upon receipt of this email. Please note that fares are not guaranteed until tickets are issued and charged to your credit card.

Thank you,
Cheapoair

I responded immediately and was conned into accepting a flight at a much higher cost. I did not attempt to determine if cheaper flights were available at the time, but I am sure that I could have gotten better fares had I been suspicious of the ineptness of the agent.

However very shortly after receiving and acting on the above e-mail I received the following e-mail:

Dear Maurice,

Thank you for choosing Cheapoair.Com.

This is in reference to booking #1616269

Due to the multiple carriers that make up the itinerary you've chosen, we are experiencing technical difficulties and your original booking cannot be confirmed.

We have searched our data base of over 100 million flight options including 18 million of our own negotiated, exclusive and wholesale airfares on more than 350 carriers and have found suitable alternative flights.

New fare 1985.71...please call us so that we may look for lower fares

Please call us using our 24/7 toll free number [protected] and one of our travel specialists will be happy to assist you with no additional service fees. You may also email us at tkt@cheapoair.Com.

Because these fares are only available for a limited time, we ask that you call us immediately upon receipt of this email.

Thank you,
Cheapoair

Again, I immediately contacted Cheapoair by phone. My original quoted price was US$862.58. I was flabbergasted when I read above that the new fare was in the order of US$1985.71! This was more than twice the original quote! I instructed the agent to look for a different flight and the best price she could find was over US$1100 as I recall. I would not accept that fare. The agent said she would cancel the reservation. I immediately went to the WestJet website and made a reservation for the same dates, which was confirmed immediately, at a cost of $987.71 CAD. This is the equivalent of US$807.15, which is a saving over Cheapoair's best fare of US$358. I believe I would have gotten an even better deal from WestJet had I gone to them initially rather than waste my time being screwed by Cheapoair.

Currency comparisons: US$ $CAD

862.58 1055.53
1100.00 1346.07
1985.71 2429.91
807.15 987.71 A reduction of $358 CDN in my cost [protected]).

I must conclude the agent was NOT doing her job by ensuring she had the lowest fare to quote me. There is something basically wrong with the system that demands forfeiting certain costs (fees and insurance premium totaling US$179.53 in this case) when, through no fault of mine, the flight cannot be confirmed and I am given two choices, pay the much higher fare, which was nowhere near the lowest fare available, or cancel and get dinged for fees and insurance premium. It is definitely not fair. Where is the incentive for the agent to ensure she has ferreted out the lowest fare available? I take it that Cheapoair gets the fees regardless of whether I accept the fare she suggests or cancel an unconfirmed flight. Who gets the insurance premium? As far as I can see nothing has been done by the agent or the insurer to warrant confiscating the $179.53. Had the flight been confirmed and I decided to cancel, for any reason, then and only then would I concede that forfeiture of the fees, insurance premium and fares would be acceptable. This was my understanding as I interpreted what I read. Fees should be assessed only when the client cancels a confirmed booking.

I would appreciate receiving a response from you on the foregoing. The most important point I want an answer to is the fact that the agent did not provide me with the lowest fare available at the time.

Yours truly

Maurice Thomas

CheapOair stay away from them

I have tried 5 times now to book a flight that is available, go through the entire booking process and then I find that the flight is not available. Cheapo's message to me is to say they are sorry and that it is very rare for this to happen that the seats would not be available and I should try a different flight time. BS... The published prices were less than any other booking agency, but if I can't actually confirm the flights AND I have wasted almost an hour of my time screwing around with their site, than this site is worthless. CheapO...I guess you do get what you pay for.

CheapOair Rebook scam

Cheapoair will find some way to rip you off especially
when rebooking a previous flight. Cheapoair will charge you double the previous plus penalties and claim its out of their hands when they have over a dozen tickets at your previous price.

They advertise they will rebook your previous flight for the difference in tickets price plus penalties. "Don't belive it!"

CheapOair overbilling and fraud!

On February 3rd 2008 we purchased 2 tickets to the Phillippines totaling $2400. Customer service was OK during the payment phase. Later, on the 5th of February, 2008 we noticed we were billed 2 other charges totaling $1019.80, with no explanation. We used our Visa CheckCard, and my checking account was drained completely from that overcharge. We have tried continuously for 3 days to contact Customer Service with no luck, and no explanations of the charges. They were confirmed by our credit union as charged by CheapOair. When they returned my call about the overcharges, the caller I.D. had the name "JEN NY", rather than Cheapoair. The fly-by-night company has made no effort to reimburse the unauthorized charges. Because I am a police officer I suspected fraud after seeing the charges, and other information that raised red flags. I have contacted the Virginia Attorney General's office and intend to file criminal fraud charges against Cheapoair and it's parent companies and officers by February 10th. No further calls have been returned by the company and it is obvious they have caller I.D. as they have not answered ANY calls I have made to the "billing office". I am still out $1019.80. Please stay away from this "company".

On march 20, I went to Lufthansa International and after 45 minutes, I approached the desk clerk and he was not able to find my name in the system. After a while he notices the small print that says operated by Untied Airways, and told me to go to domestic flight. Now to start with I have been late to be at the Airport, now I have to take the shuttle service to go to Domestic flight. The settle bus took too long and at the time I was mad and angry that due to the misprint information I was directed to a wrong place. I went to domestic and checked in, security check-in took time, and finally I went to the Gate and the gate was closed. US Airways, agent tried to book me on the next flight, but there was no connection flight from Philadelphia to Frankfurt. So they advised me to call CHEAPOAIR(the name says it all, I should probably call them CHEATTERS O AIR), I called them and was on line for more than one hour, and this clerk keeps telling me I am considered NO-SHOW, when in fact my bag is already gone to Philadelphia. I begged this guy to help me arrange my flight, but left me on line with their horrible commercial message that keeps repeating the same commercial and very annoying!.

This agent never back to me, and here I am standing in the airport n where to go, and cost me money I paid for hotel in Addis Ababa, and all pr-arranged very important business I supposed to attend.

I kept calling them, but they know how to say we are sorry and keeps telling me we will get back to you soon, but never respond to me. I finally confront to one of supervisor VERONA, and she said we cannot refund because I am considered no show!

The fact is, they are the reason I missed my flight again due to mis-print information. I am discussing the case with my Lawyer and I also learned I am not the only person with this issue and they have been known with this kind of misleading information.

I purchased tickets from CheapOAir which I cancelled, and rebooked due to an error of dates. When my Discover Card came, I found charges to ALL of the tickets-even the cancelled ones. 3 months of phone calls and emails have NOT settled the fraudulent charges. They are a bogus company to be avoided.
BoodingBuddy.com does a disservice to their customers by offering this booking site.

CheapOair fraud and poor customer service!

I got a 'great' deal off of this site. But that's where is the problem started. I needed to change my ticket and I was charged a hefty penalty for it (Which was in their contract) — I let it go because I had no choice since my ticket was non-refundable.
What happened is that instead of changing my ticket, they issued me a new one and charged me the price of a new ticket! I have been trying to get my money back for 3 months and I am getting the run around.

Furthermore, my itinerary changed because the flight I booked was delisted. Cheapoair did not inform me until 10 days before my departure. I called the airlines and they told me that they contacted that agency 2 months before my flight to inform them that they flight was relisted. But cheapoair never changed it back and did not inform me. I am looking into sending more complaints with the members they are associated with.

I would not recommend them even if you do not care about the price of your ticket or how simple your travel plans maybe.

CheapOair dirty dealing, lying and fraud

Please oh please don't do business with this company! My husband and I are trying to get back from our long holiday in Slovenia and bought tickets from Cheapoair.

They say they have issued the e-tickets (false ones it seems because Czech Air has no record of a reservation being made under my husband's name).

The charges are on his credit card, but the e-ticket numbers are false.

They've been harrassing us for a scan or fax of our passports and credit card for "security and verification purposes" which is usually a red flag, but we are desperate to get back so we tried it. We tried to fax them 6 times--they wouldn't give us their international fax code, and each time we tried to fax them it bounced back.

Now they claim they have our card authorization form but no passport/card scan and are threatening to cancel our trip and say they "bear no responsibility for cancellation charges."

I don't know why, if they say all this hoop jumping is for "our security" against "false charges on our credit card" why in the name of all that's good did they charge our card, give us false e-tickets all before verifying our identity!

They are seriously shady, and should be put out of business.

I wonder if this is all a scam just to collect a few hundred dollars worth of cancellation fees.

I called the customer service to make a change on my flight today. The lady on the phone was the most unpleasant and impatient person I have ever talked to on customer service. It's like she was having a bubble gum in her mouth and all her words were muffled up. Her attitude towards the customer was unacceptable and she did not listen to my concern and she didn't answer my questions. She just wanted to finish her job and go home. I had a very unpleasent experiece with this airline and I will not book again. Her name is Enkeleida. I do not understand why would such a large airline company hire a unprofessional and rude person. There should be some training beforehand.

I won't burden you with my tragic story but take my heed and do not use Travel Guard, they are rip off artists, they require a library full of documentation to even qualify for a review to see if you are eligible to receive the reimbursement YOU PAID FOR. And I mean you have to have every receipt every conformation number, every doctor, every hospital, every every every. Then they take months to review and won't even talk to you unless it has been 5 weeks, ( I am serious) says so right on their form! Then no matter how much proof you have or how many doctors that verify and even write hand written notes to re-verify they will refuse to pay you. Don't bother wasting your money! And what is really sad their premiums are huge, so you pay top dollars for nothing. However a small portion of our trip I booked on Expedia and their insurance was cheap and they instantly refunded my money, no questions asked. They are cold hearted bigots and if I could figure out a way to put them out of business I would write a million of these.

I have also a very bad experience in this company. It is a week since I reserved the flight but I haven't received my eticket. I tried to contact them with their phone number but I waited for over half an hour three times listening the recorded sound, which tells me to wait. It is very difficult to contact them once you gave all my money. They reply fast in the online chat but they do nothing except saying they will arrange a call back whcih didn't happen two times. Overall my experience with this company is very bad. I recommend not to reserve a ticket with this company - nothing better than a scam!

9 Jan 09, purchased travel insurance. I did not travel using this ticket because my military leave was changed due to a military mission assignment. After a number of phone calls to Cheapoair (Stella & Henry) trying to get my travel dates changed. I was at one point told by Stella that there was a $250 change fee. When I called to pay the fee, I was, after an hour on the phone, told by Henry that my ticket was unrefundable, unchangeable, even with a fee, and that I should call United Airline. I called United Airline and was told to call Cheapoair.

I filed a claim with Travel Guard using the information attached to my online ticket. Response to my claim from Travel Guard was I was not covered by them. I have accessed my online itinerary at various points of time since purchasing my ticket, even today, 11 Jun 09, it says Travel Guard.

I called Cheapoir and a rep informed me that my insurance was CSA and gave me the phone number, to contact CSA for filing instructions because from Jan 09 to present, my itienerary has shown Travel Guard. Why is Travel Guard attached to my itinerary, if my insurance purchased through Cheapoair is CSA? As a result, I never had access to the CSA insurance plan outlining benefits.

I filed a claim with CSA only to learn this plan has no "military clause" that covers US military personnel who have to cancel or change their ticket due to a military assignment; which was my case. So in trying to save money, I have lost $1208.70 to your company. if I had access to the entire plan, I would have known tis before hand. Instead, I had access to Travel Guard which has a "military clause".

I have emailed Cheapoair Feeback in past on this issue and was referred to United Airlines. This is an unsatifactory response. I feel a complaint such as mind, in our current environment "a country at war" and the high esteem in which military service is held, will be received by Congressman, Senators and States Attorney Generals and looked into with more than modest curiousity. I am sure, I am not the only person working for the US military that has fallen prey to your Company.

I want $1208.70 (cost of ticket and travel insurance) refunded to my credit card. If this is not possible, I will submit a letters to each of the 50 States Consumer Affairs Division of the Attorney General's Office, my Congressman and Senator and have my military peers, friends, and family members to submit a request for relief from Cheapoair on my behalf to their Congressional representatives and Senators.

A response to this email is appreciated.

I have at this time the WORST experience with your company. I boutght tickets last week, still have not recieve any e-ticket, besides this, cuntry i was planning to fly is under Russian fire, bombing and anexi. Irports had been bombed. I contacted your agent and axplained the situation and ask him to censel my tickets. He told me that there will be airline charge. I called airline and they told me that my file has a special note form airline saying that because of political situation there will be no airline censalation fee charge. Calling back to your company every single agent was terible, even supervisor and maneger, claiming that there is note in my file, that they can not contact airline to confirme that this refund is charge free. Now one of managers, his name is Deil, i dont know if i spelled it right, promised to call back. I dont understand why you guys need 3-4 hours to contact ANY AIRLINE IN ORDER TO FIND OUT IF THEY CHARCH IN EMERGENCY CASE LIKE THIS FEE OR NOT. OR YOU DO THAT IN PURPUSE TO CHARGE PEOPLE YOUR CENCELATION FEE.

CheapOair excessive fees, deceptive pricing

Like others here who have complained about CheapOair, I found what I thought was a good deal only to discover upon reaching the purchase screen that its fees and taxes amounted to nearly $100 per ticket, that is a third of the total purchase for two tickets.

It's at least questionable to me that CheapOair chooses to display flights without a real indication of the true cost and, more troubling, charges a sky-high $25 service fee per ticket, five times what the leading discount travel sites charge. Ostensibly this is for premium customer service, but as we've all seen here, CheapOair appears to have service far inferior to what travel site customers have come to expect. I'd like to see CheapOair respond to these complaints and justify their fee structure. The company doesn't even publish an 800 number.

CheapOair poor service!

I booked a flight for two on 10/8/2007. During the process, the price on the quote screen and the price once the flight time was selected was immediately adjusted (up). I too tried this process several times and the price continued to change from the stated initial screen price.

Once the fights were booked I received confirmation with my booking number. The flights were booked at 1 p.m. I printed off the confirmation and did not return to my email until the 10th.

I discovered Cheapoair sent two emails to notify me the charge was declined.
I contacted the credit card company (AMEX) who assured me there was no reason the charge should have been declined. In fact the available credit was in the thousands. I had 5 other minor purchases that day, none declined.
When I complained to CheapoAir, the representative was short rude and unwilling to assist me with moving up the chain. He suggested I repurchase the tickets for $100 dollars more.

I will attempt to speak to a person with authority this morning following opening of business.

I can not recommend booking with CheapoAir!

CheapOair - refund issues!

This all started because I wanted to change my arrival time by 1.5 hours. See my email to cheapoair and by the way, I still don't have my refund yet. I was told on 7/12 that I would be charged a $100 cancellation fee since I was changing my arrival time on my flight within 24 hours. At cheapoair's request I canceled the booking #502367 and re booked with...

CheapOair customer service blows!

Cheapoair got my name completely wrong on my multiple destination tickets. Instead of my name they had some code, h2k, instead. Then they expected me to pay for all three name changes!

They directed me to the airlines, who couldn't change the name anyways because technically I didn't book it, cheapoair did. Then after waiting on hold for 1 hour everytime I called, customer service did nothing. Two hours before departure someone called and said they "fixed" the problem, but out of my three tickets, one still had my name wrong and I almost got booted off the flight! Never use cheapoair!

CheapOair - bait and switch!

I tried to book airline ticket on cheapoair.com and the price they showed me was very cheap, so I tried to book it, but everytime I try, it states that this ticket is no longer available, so I go back and pick another flight number and time and same thing. I did this 5 times and yet none of them were available. I didn't continue because the next price for...

CheapOair fictitious ticket confirmation

Do not purchase online airfair from cheapoair. They flat out lie. We were e-mailed a booking confirmation and e-ticket number which was fictitious. Cheapoair confirmed that we were booked with delta on 7/29/07 to rome. Checked with delta, no ticket. This 'company' cheapoair lies continually. This company should not be allowed to do business. Do not, do not purchase tickets from cheapoair!

This company sent me an email confirmation for a flight from New York. I booked another ticket on another airline to get from DC to NY to catch Chapo's flight. Then I get an email from Cheapo that says my flight couldn't be confirmed and I had another ticket option for $400 more. I lost my other ticket and Cheapo wouldn't let me talk to a manager.

I'll be taking this company to court. They tried to rip me off for $400 and wasted my other ticket. They will pay for it in the court.

My reservation was not ticketed after seven hours and had a difficult time contacting customer service. Phone, chat, call back... did not work. So I cancelled the ticket online and got the confirmation email. I think this company baits customers with its low far offers that are not real. When people try to get their money back there will be all kinds of charges they have to pay, not to mention a great amount of time and frustration they have to spend on Cheapoair. I will never ever deal with Cheapoair.

I booked a ticket from Beijing to Boston on July 28th, 2008. The ticket was $100 cheaper than my other choices on that day. I called them and asked about restriction on this ticket since it's cheaper and provided them with my passport and nationality. I called again to verify my credit informations and asked about the restrictions again. Nothing was mentioned to me. Then paid the bill.

Today is July 31th, I got a call saying if I'm flying with this ticket, I need to apply for a transit visa, which will take at least 5 business days. My flight is August 7th.

I called cheapoair.com, 3 times, one hanged up my phone. one supervisor mislead me with the credit points thing. He told me if I cancel the ticket, I get credit points and I can use them in the future at any agent or air companies. Then I asked again to double check, he changed his words and said no, I could only fly with the same air company. So I hanged up and called the airline to double check this credit points thing. And I was told NO. IT's Not the Truth! Even if they give me the credit points, I'll have to fly with the same airline only, within one year.

But the third one, a supervisor again, gave me a different explanation that I can only fly with air Canada from Beijing to Boston only. God. I can fly with any other airline with this price for a round trip. This credit points means NO Points.

Cheapoair is absolutely a NIGHTMARE.
Avoid them whenever possible.
Speak with an accent, always trying to interrupt you, impatient, bad attitude. And LIE! How can they provide wrong infors to customers and trying to cheat them?
Fraud!

CheapOair this is a scam company!

I often book flights on the web. Recently, in a hurry I booked 6 people to vegas on a web site called cheapoair. The price on their site was lower than anything else I could find so I booked it. It wasn't until I pushed the complete button, did I realize they had added a $25.00 a ticket charge to my credit card. This is such a rip off. I had no idea till it was to late. I emailed them asking for at least a partial refund because I thought the fee was excessive, of course they refused. I could have booked with the airline directly, there was no reason to use them other than the posted fare was less.

This is a scam company and should not be allowed to continue to defraud the public. Please help me get my $250.00 dollars back that I was scammed out of.

I didn't know so many people had similar experience with this orrible scam company!
My little girl and I went to Italy last April to say goobye to my sister ( she just passed away from pancreatic cancer). We booked 2 tickets with ChepOair,I didn't know that the flight would stop one night in Germany until I cliked on OK, so I tried to cancel right away but they never helped me in any way to make any change. So I had to book a one night in an hotel for me and my little girl ( so not only more money add to the cost of the tickets , but more time before destination and we had only 9 days to spend with my sister!)
This is not all! the bigg surprise war when we arrived in San Francisco Airport!
we had a Luthansa flight but a United Ticket, and when I showed my e ticket numbers i was told from Luthansa i needed Paper tickets and from 6pm to 10 pm my little girl (she is 5years old) and I were sent from Luthansa back to United counters were each od them told us the other could help us with this matter until the Luthansa supervor responsable for that flight (very mean and unpleasent individual) told us that even if we would have bought the tickets for 10,000.00 thousands each it was to late because was in process of departing and told me basically to calm down and get lost. The last waiting hour i was on my cell phone with a supervisor of CheaO air that tolked to the responsible for Luthansa flight asking her to help me with that matter and issue me a lost tickets paper because they had made a mistake. Bue she said " I will not do that" and I suggest you next time to buy the tickets directly from us!"

The same night I had to rented a car to go back to Carme (2 hours driving from S francisco airport), went home loggedr into internet bought another 2 tickets for me and my girl for 2,690 total , next morning we drove back to the same airport and finally went to Italy.
I have been trying to get a refund from United that basically cashed our 2,400 for our original tickets but they w'll not do it because the paper tickets were never sent to me from ChepOair even if the many times I talked with them they said they weere going to fix the problem and issue me a refund...I don't know what to do to get that money back .
Recently my sister passed away and I didn't have money to buy tickets to go to her funeral...How can we stop this type of scams and there is any legal way to get my money back ?!I'm a single mom and work many hours to take care of me and my little one and I believe it's very unfair to take this much money away from us.
Does anyone has any suggestion ? Maybe we could all get together and sue this company and put them out of their filthy business of stiling money from us ...

CheapOair overbilling

I booked a flight, online, to mexico through cheapoair. The following day I received an email saying there was an increase in price. I checked the website and the original price was still being advertised. I called the company to complain, and was told that the email sent was a mistake and to ignore it. When my credit card statement arrived, I was overcharged for the flight. I contacted cheapoair and was given a fax number to send my credit card statement to. The fax bounced back to me with an error report. I emailed cheapoair and was told that someone from customer service would contact me. No one did. I emailed again, and was told that they were dealing with my refund and would email me when it was sent. After 3 weeks of waiting, I again contacted cheapoair by phone. I asked to speak to a manager, and was told that I should email her the next day and my refund would be handled. Of course, nothing has happened. Now I have to contact the airline to find out if I really am booked on the flight. Cheapoair's customer service is terrible. Avoid them.

Here is an email I sent to Cheapoair and I still haven't got my refund yet.

First of all I need an address to this company because I need to send a letter to you. On Wednesday Sept. 26, 2007 I booked a flight with you and you sent me a confirmation that it was booked. Then CheapoAir sent me another email on Thursday Sept. 27, 2007 saying that the fair has increased. I called and spoke with one of your customer service reps who was very rude to which I asked to speak with a supervisor. He transferred me to a supervisor by the name of Dale extension 9768 who was not very pleasant as well after our conversation I told him to hold and not book it, and he responded to me by saying don't wait too long cause the fair can change again he also told me for the mix up the next time I wanted to book to call him back and he would get me the best fair possible at which point I hung up the phone. I called back shortly after to speak with him but apparently he was too busy to speak so whoever I was speaking with I cancelled the flight with him. At 1:46 PM on Sept. 27, 2007 I received an email from CheapoAir with a flight confirmation at which point I called back and was speaking to someone else who also was unpleasant and also hung up the phone on me, I called back and spoke with another one of your reps who was very pleasant the first one and only 1 so far, and I have spoken to 7 of your reps as of today Oct.1, 2007. She told me at that time it would be cancelled and she was going to be sending of an email to her supervisor of my experience with your company. I NEED THIS CANCELED ASAP! I need a email confirmation that this is canceled and all monies credited back to my credit card if this is not done by the end of this day Oct. 1, 2007 I will get my lawyers involved and you guys need to credit my credit card along with any interests accumulated.

As of today November 9, 2007 I still have not received a refund.

CheapOair - no ticket received

CheapOair flight issues!

On March 14, 2007 I booked a flight for three people to Nashville on June 1st. No mention was made that the seat selection portion was a mere suggestion. No mention was made that the flight to St Louis had problems with American Airlines in the past.

So last night per the instructions I confirmed with American Airlines. After an hour and forty minutes with the Queen of Snob I thought I had a seat. She kept blaming everything on Cheapoair. She said it was their problem I did not have a seat. I asked her why they oversold flights.

So this morning I got up early to call Cheapo and they gave me another seat in a row that was unavailable the night before. So when I got to work I went in and checked my reservations only to find that I did not have a seat. I was on hold and finally left a message on the voice mail and through email. Now some seven hours later I have no response. I spoke with American again and they told me Cheapo had canceled my seats that they had assigned the night before and they did not get me another seat. They fortunately got me the same seats.

So the airline has suggested I get to the airport early so that this whole mess can be resolved.

DO NOT BUY AN AIRLINE TICKET FROM THIS DISGUSTING COMPANY. I PAID TO HAVE INSURANCE ON MY TICKET, CANCELLED IN TIME AND WAS CHAGRED $100 TO HAVE THE REEFUND PROCESS STARTED. I WAS TOLD THAT THE MONEY WOULD BE BACK WITH IN 2 PAY PERIODS. FWI. CHEAPOAIR'S PAY PERIODS ARE 30DAYS. I HAVE BEEN ON THE PHONE FOR ALMOST 2 HOURS (3 DIFFERENT TIMES) TO GET LIES AND FAKE MANAGERS. A MANAGER CALLED ME TODAY TO TELL ME THAT THE LAST "MANAGER" I TALKED TO WAS WRONG AND THAT I WOULD NOT BE RECIEVEING MY MONEY FOR ANOTHER 12 WEEKS. AND THEN WHEN I ASKED WHO I COULD SPEAK TO ABOVE HER AND SHE PRETTY MUCH JUST CUT ME OFF. INTERUPPTED ME AND THEN FINALLY JUST PUT ME ON OLD AND NEVER CAME BACK. I AM NOT A WEALTHY PERSON AND THEY TOOK THE ONLY 300 I HAD...DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT BUY THROUGH THIS COMPANY!

I have worked in the airline industry for more than 30 years and if there is one constant in this world regarding the airline industry, it is that people have far less knowledge than they think they do. On-line booking is a wonderful idea in theory, but in practice it is a nightmare. Most people do not know how the airlines work, let alone each individual website. Most websites, when you enter the times and dates you want, will ALWAYS give you the cheapest flights first. So if a person asks to fly frmo Chicago to New York and the cheapest seat is from Chicago's Midway airport to New York's LaGuardia airport, that is what will pop up 1st. Without double checking the names of the airport, a person will like the times and price and book a NONREFUNDABLE ticket. After they've entered their credit card (without double checking the info) they'll get an e-mail where they will see they're flying from Midway instead of O'Hare and into LaGuardia instead of JFK. Who will they blame? Themselves for not being smart enough to double check what they're purchasing before entering their, oh so private, credit card number? No. They blame the website, claiming the company has done some sort of switch. Let me be clear here. THE AIRLINES DO NOT PAY TRAVEL ANGENCIES ANY COMMISSION. So the only money these website travel agencies make is on their fees which can range from $3.50 up to $25.00 for a new booking. Do you really believe a company would risk bad publicity, possible fraud charges, costly credit card charge backs and to pay someone $15.00 an hour to argue with you over a $10 booking fee? Does it make sense that ANY company would go through all of that for such small booking fees? Of course not. What does make sense, is that these days people are in such a rush, they don't stop to look before they leap. Then they want a refund claiming "Oh c'mon, I just booked this 30 minutes ago" Well airline tickets are not TV sets that you can return for a full refund because you picked the wrong color. If you purchase a ticket at 12:15pm, it's nonrefundable at 12:16pm. This is an airline rule, not a travel agency rule. The airlines will ALWAYS blame the travel agency however. Why? Because it's a simple fix. You're angry at the travel agent, the airline doesn't want you to know that the travel agent can ONLY follow airline policy and it will make you book directly with the airline next time. I worked for three major carriers and all three carriers gave the customer service reps the same policy. "Any problems with a travel agent booking, blame the travel agent, no matter what the problem is." How can this company be blamed because American Airlines will not allow a seat assignment? Is this travel agent supposed to call the airport and demand that another passenger be kicked out of his seat so that you can sit there instead? It's easy to point the finger and blame, but the sad bottom line truth is, most of the time, we the consumers are to blame. We don't like to read ANY small print and sign on the dotted line without reading it and then get angry when some of that small print applies to us. We don't have time to double check before entering our credit cards, but we have time to spend hours yelling and screaming trying to fix a problem that could've been avoided in the 1st place. I don't know if this response will be posted or not, but I do feel better after writing it. Are some companies a rip off? YES, WITHOUT A DOUBT. Is every company that does something we don't like a rip off? NO, IT'S NOT. I forget the company, but their store motto is "Our best customer is an educated consumer" I like that. We should ALL be educated consumers before entering our personal information into a computer that is attached to people all over the globe and not blame someone else when something goes wrong. One last thing. Why is it that people will call up swearing up and down that the company made an error and find it impossible to think that maybe they're not perfect like most humans and caused the error themselves? I had one woman calling me an idiot because I couldn't find the city Bear, NY. After 30 minutes of going through NY cities, I came upon Buffalo, NY, she said "Oh that's it, I knew it was a big animal" yet she would swear on a stack of bibles that I was a ### for not finding her a flight to Bear, NY. Another gentleman wanting to accompany his wife to Maconga, he wasn't sure where it was, but he was looking at his wife's ticket and he knew the city existed. Again, after 40 minutes of him asking why I had this job if I was so stupid, we discovered she wasn't flying to Maconga, she was flying to Macon, GA. I'm not making these up and I have hundreds more. So, before you write a complaint letter that could cause some very innocent person their job that they need to put food on their table, make sure the problem wasn't caused or made worse, by your own actions. You, after all, have the same disability we all have, you're human. Therefore, you're prone to the same mistakes you might accuse others of. If you need proof of this, look up complaints for Orbitz, Expedia, Travelocity or any other website travel company and you'll see the EXACT same complaints, with just different names and places. Are all of these companies fraud and hire stupid people? Or is the common denominator, the uninformed consumer who is rushing through a website without really looking at what he/she is doing?

Thanks

I booked a flight to and from Portland. When I got my printout, I noticed that my return flight was not what I had booked which was on Frontier, not Delta. When I went back into the system to see how this was possible, I noticed that the return I thought I had booked was in the process of going up in price. The only thing I can figure is that cheapoair, at their discretion, changed my return flight to suit themselves. After reading others fright stories, I am beginning to wonder if I even have a seat on either of these flights!

I normally research companies before proceeding with my decision. I had a feeling/doubt about CheapO Air, the airline schedule and the total price are too good to be true.

I appreciate those who speak up and share their thoughts... We should all help each other.

I have had nothing but problems with Cheapoair. I booked a flight, and they over-charged my credit card. I have been calling/emailing for over 2 months now to try to get this resolved. Customer service is terrible!

CheapOair - is there some sort of meltdown going on!

I booked a flight on CheapoAir - nonrefundable, which is fine. I took the chance. What I didn't know was that this did not guarantee me a ticket! My flight is due to leave in 3 days and while I have a reservation, the airline tells me that I do not have a ticket. "Is the agent holding your ticket for some reason?" they asked. The payment went through, so...

CheapOair - overcharge and poor customer service!

My complaint is with the level of service offered by CheapoAir.com. For years I have used the internet to book flights, however this is the first time I used CheapoAir.com. The chain of events is as follows: · I booked a flight on October 2 to fly to my home town San Antonio, TX · I received confirmation for October 20 on AirTran Flt. 123 departing at...
