Chase Bank / bait and switch

1 CA, United States Review updated:

Was offered a promotion to open a new account in exchange for $125.00 account credit. Waited over 14 days for crecit. Called into call center was advised that it would take 10 days for credit, credit would be in account on 11/28/11.. Waited the ten days as you can see above, no credit. Called into call on the 10 days later 11/28/11 still no credit. Called call center spoke with a rep who said now you have to add dirwect deposit. Then I spoke with a supervisor who also said now as rep just said I advised have to activate a direct deposit? Unreal... Defintely a bait and switch. I am an unsatified customer. Would close account but have not added this account to all my accounts for payment. They are forcing me to have a direct deposit!!

This is the information I found online:
Offer not available to existing Chase checking customers, fiduciary accounts and those who have closed an account within 90 days. Offer valid through 11/26/11 . To receive the bonus: 1) open a new Chase Total CheckingSM account, which is subject to approval; 2) deposit $100 or more within 60 days of account opening; AND 3) have your direct deposit made to this account within 60 days of account opening. Your opening deposit cannot be money held by Chase or its affiliates, nor can the bonus be used as the opening deposit. Your direct deposit needs to be an electronic deposit from your employer or the government of your paycheck, pension or government benefits (such as Social Security). After we receive your first direct deposit, we'll deposit the bonus in your new account within 10 business days. You can only receive one checking account-related bonus per calendar year. If your checking account is closed within six months, we will deduct the bonus amount at closing. Also, if your account is closed within 90 days, an Account Closing Fee of $25 will apply.
