JPMorgan Chase home modification (hamp) scam and mers

Here is my general take on the "mortgage crisis" based on the experiences I have had with chase home finance and the obama "making home affordance" program (Hamp).

The obama "making home affordable" program (Hamp) has proven to me and millions of other people that the "mortgage crisis" is a result of a completely planned domino effect starting from "purposefully-created short-term lenders" who falsify information and trap people into agreeing to ridiculous mortgages or refinances. These short-term lenders then "pool" all of these fraudulent mortgages and sell them to another lender like bank of america or jp morgan chase for a huge profit, sometimes even the same day, and then they close their business. This new lender may then sell it to another lender for a huge profit. Who created the original short-term lenders? The big banks! The whole things was a meticulously calculated plan which has been successfully carried out. The goal of the plan (Scam) is to foreclose on as many properties as possible and sell them for a huge profit. The obama "making home affordable" program (Hamp) was the final step in this scam. The big banks get billions and billions of dollars from the government supposedly to help the homeowners, most of whom were victims of the "fake" lenders between the years [protected]. The banks agree to modify these loans; however, they have no intention of ever modifying the loans. Their intention is to force the homeowner into foreclosure. They do this by approving your loan modification, lower your payments to 31% of your monthly income, have you make these payments for three or four months, then deny your permanent loan modification. The lender then claims that due to the fact you've only made partial payments for the past four months, you are now in default and must pay back the difference between the modified payment and the original payment in order to get out of default status. Plus, you must pay the entire mortgage due for the current month, so you end up getting a mortgage statement saying you must pay a ridiculous amount of money to get your account back in good standing. Plus, they have reported to the credit companies that you are four months late in your payments, lowing your credit score considerably and causing other problems for the homeowner. Not only that, but one of the terms of the obama "making home affordable" plan is that you must have the lender set up an escrow account for you. The mortgage company then pays your property taxes and homeowner’s insurance way before they are due (Sometimes before the homeowner even receives the bill). Now that you have been denied your loan modification, you must pay back all of this money to them (Which is then added to the previous ridiculous amount of money already due them). Also, they refuse to remove the escrow account from your mortgage loan after you've been denied modification, so now you must add estimated property tax amounts to your original monthly mortgage payment. The obama "making home affordable" plan not only doesn't make your home affordable, the end result is a higher mortgage payment than the original one... Forcing the homeowner into foreclosure. Thus the scam is complete.

But, they made two crucial mistakes which will be their downfall. When the initial scam lender sold a “pool” of mortgages to a big bank, they neglected to forward the original paperwork to the new lender. Some mortgages have been sold three and four times to different big banks. Not only does the current lender not have the original mortgage papers, it is not serving as a bank at all, but just as a collection agency and, therefore, has no legal rights to modify your loan at all. The second crucial mistake was, in order to save time, the initial lenders used a third-party entity called mers to temporarily hold title to the actual properties while they were being sold. Mers is an “entity” that uses an electronic database to record mortgage titles. Mers then failed to follow-up with title companies and never registered the new lender of any of the mortgages. Therefore, the title, deed of record and ownership of the mortgage on the property belongs to mers, and the only company legally permitted to foreclose on that property is mers. The current mortgage lender only holds ownership of your mortgage “loan.”

I called the york county, pa, recorder of deeds to find out who currently holds the title to my property. The answer - mers.

The attorney general, state’s attorney, state representative, etc… will not help at all. I have found a “mass joinder” lawsuit against jp morgan chase which has been filed in california (Mass joinder - plaintiff pays up front, usually $4, 000... Class action suit - attorney takes fee out of amount awarded) based on an original lawsuit filed against bank of america. Here are the case details. Please check it out. I'm not sure if this lawsuit is just another scam, and am still investigating.
Noriko belmont, et al v. Jp morgan chase, et al
Filed in the superior court for the state of california, county of los angeles
Case no.: bc455629
Date filed: march 22, 2011

Please check out the court's website and you'll see that it has actually been filed. Also check out these links for very important information.

JPMorgan Chase foreclosure

I have had a mortgage with Chase for years. They have always been thieves and do not work with people in desparate situations. They were working with my husband and told him step by step what we needed to do to get our home mortgage interest rate reduced. He jumped hoops and after it was said and done they told him that now his credit score was to high and they could not do anything for him. They have our first mortgage at 8% and 2nd mortgage at 12% last time I checked. To depressing to continuing looking at something you have no control over. I think the second is even higher. Anyway, I am trying to find someone to give me advice on what to do because now my husband has lost his job and I am the only one employed. I contacted chase bank because we were 2 payments behind and told them I would have the payments to them within 1 week and they told me fine, they would do what they could to help me. I did as they told me and made a payment, they told me I had until the 6th of April to make the payment and I made 2 payments by the 5th. On the 2nd when a payment was made they rejected it. I contacted them and had to speak with 5 representatives, I think they just kept hanging up on me. I finally got someone to take the payment, it was taken out of my bank account, I called the next day and made a second payment, again taken out of my account and came home from work after both were taken saying that they "cancelled my payment and did not take and that if I try to make any other payments to them that they would just keep rejecting." Help! do you know anyone who can help. Chase is awful to deal with. I have spoken with countless reps and they keep saying sorry! I don't want a sorry I tell them I want a resolution. What do you recommend?

get on the phone and call other banks asap and see if they will take over the loan or let you open a new one with them. maybe they can pay chase off and help you get a better interest or cheaper pmts. do it before they can foreclose on you.

JPMorgan Chase discrimination

My husband and I are in our 60s, white caucasion, I lost my job in 2009 and our business due to the BP oils spill in 2010. We applied for a mod from Chase for our home in 2009 due to my job loss. We were denied and told that we made too much money. We used our life savings to keep our payments up-to-date until May 2010 when we were told by a Chase rep. that we should stop making payments as it will "push" Chase to help us. In August of 2010 when we were contacted by a Chase representative, Margo Mowers who is Hispanic. We thought that she was sent by an angel since she sounded so sincere and that she/Chase truly wanted to help us. We reapplied for the mod again. We filled out all of the excessive paperwork, submitted all of our personal information including SS #s, bank acct. #, 3 yr.s tax information, first born child, right arm, etc. We were told that this would take no more than 60 days for Chase to reply. We were relieved and thought that we were going to get the help that we so desperately needed to save our home. We have never been late on our payments, we had an excellent credit history, we designed and built our home ourselves by acting as the contractors and put our blood, sweat and tears into this home. It was our final home and we thought that this "help"would secure our future and our retirement in our soon to be "old age".

60 days after we applied, we heard nothing, we called Ms. Mowers, emailed her and sent letters. She did not return our calls, did not return or acknowledge our emails, did not respond to our letters, NOTHING. We did not hear from Chase after 60 days, 90 days or 120 days. In January 2011, Ms. Mowers sent us a letter and told us that the paperwork that we submitted, has expired due to the "overload of mod cases" and requested that we reapply for the fourth time! What happened? We were devastated, we had given up after no response from Chase or their so called representative. In December, we left our home in our children's hands to handle what ever may happen. We have moved to another state trying to find jobs. We felt that we were being held hostage by Chase. We also believe that the reason our application was allowed to expire was because we are of the wrong color and race. We are white, responsible and elderly. We were thrown to the back of the pack so that the young and people of the Hispanic and black race could be helped since they were among the majority that purchased homes that they could not afford. We are disgusted and penniless at this time in our lives. We have lost everything that we spent a lifetime trying to achieve. Our retirement has been dwindled trying to keep our home. Chase bank is one of the worst offender's, preying on people who have tried to do the right thing. Refusing to help those who do help themselves and granting reprieves to those who couldn't afford their homes in the first place. Chase bank should not be allowed to do business in this country as they are among the biggest offenders of defaulting on their multi-billion dollar loans, taking money from the taxpayers to bail themselves out, paying their execs. millions of dollars and screwing people like us. They are nothing but crooks. We are trying to contact Ms. Mowers, who has not returned our calls to date to apply for a short sale. NO RESPONSE WHATSOEVER! Chase can foreclose, ruin our credit, lives and take our future, what ever is left of it.But they can't get blood out of turnips! And we believe that we were discriminated against because of our race and age.

I applied for a home mortgage with Chase and got pre-approved. After that they spend 45 days trying to collect the same information 3 times. My escrow got expired and my loan underwriter still asking the same questions. When I asked the loan officer whether the underwriter looked at the documents, his response was, well, you just have to keep sending whatever they want if you want the loan because you got no choice. I was so mad and told him that I do have a choice and my choice was to cancel the application with Chase.

I feel that I was bully by the big bank who treated me like no body.

I have been banking with them for years, and still be treated like that. Why should people still bank with the big banks? I will certainly move my relationship ASAP...

You sir are completely off base here ...I know Ms. Mower and have witnessed her being discriminated against. She knows how hurtful it is and I know for sure that she would never discriminate against anyone.

Perhaps you should open your eyes and see it for what it is, Chase doing whatever it has to do to keep the Government money coming in. I suspect that Ms. Mowers has no control of the documents after they are submitted. Again, I am only guessing that she doesn't. I've known Ms. Mowers for 32 years, I met her when she came to this country and only know two words, yes please and no thank you!

My best to you and I hope things work out.

Your age and race are not relevant. Your racist comments are offensive and quite inappropriate. Good luck blaming EVERYONE else except yourself; it undoubtedly will get you nowhere just like your irresponsibility.

JPMorgan Chase worst bank ever

I received a promotion from Chase... open a checking account with a minimum deposit of $100 and have a direct deposit of at least $100 a month with no minimum balance and I receive $100. I thought easy way to make $100. Opened the account and the savings account too in order to have the free checking. I'd have $100 directly deposited from my paycheck and after it transferred to the checking account, I'd transfer it manually to my regular bank (USAA which I love). I logged in online to transfer for April and guess what? I noticed the balance was $6 less than it should have been. I called customer service to find out what this service fee was for and the representative told me it's because they changed the terms of my checking account. I had to have at least 5 debit card transactions, minimum direct deposit of $500, minimum balance... I said I don't know anything about this let alone agree to any of it. The rep said it was on my last statement. I don't even get statements... it's all online so unless something cued me to look, I wouldn't! I said no thanks to Chase. Like how they change the terms of service on you and you don't have any say nor do you even know about it and they expect people to stay their customers? There are so many banking options these days. I've been with USAA for 13 yrs and absolutely love their service. It's probably the best out there. The worst, Chase. Stay away!

I used to do business with WaMu. They were a friendly bank. then the federal govt. gave J.P. Morgan Chase Billions of dollars in Fed. Bailout Monopoly counterfeit currency. to take over WaMu. They turned into a vicious bunch of thugs, making up their own usuriously exorbitant fees & banking charges, charging US for the use of OUR $, on which they make billions! An insane idea in itself. Who knows if their fees are even legal?... What does it matter when They're above law? They make up their own. They're all corrupt, from top to bottom. I was having my modest pension checks Direct-deposited there. I'm retired, I'm sick with terminal prostate cancer, my wife is likewise gravely ill with Hepatitis C. She lives in another state, and I was sending a chunk of my pension to her, I spend any surplus money i have on my kids & grandkids.I can no longer work. I lost everything, all records & posessions when my job was run over by a computer. I was homeless for 5 years. The state & IRS clamped my account for back taxes I didn't owe. Chase withheld the fact that my acct. had been levied while they chgd. 34$ every time I bought a 1.50 cup of strbks.(It could be said that they're nothing more than henchmen, just an iron fisted arm of the Fed. Govt. They stole several hundred $'rs with the push of a button before I was notified. The levies occurred on several occasions. After sending the contents of my acct. to those agencies, Chase told me they'd charged me 125. each time they pushed a button to make those trsfrs. they cost me several hundred dollars over a 3 month period. I tried to get them to undo any of those charges, but they iced on me. Treated me like trash. I see now they're trying to do some spin on their image by a kind of tag-along scheme linkup with a god-knows how credible charity. If they're dropping any money in it, it's $ they stole, or phoney monopoly $... Chase, and their brethren are running out of control swinging by their wits, and if anyone knows anything to do to get back the no doubt millions they've stolen from those who can least afford it, I'd love to know what that might be, and be part of that effort. They are thughs, thieves, common criminals. I cannot put into words the actions I would wish to take in order to straighten out them & their ilk. Chase is a fine example of all that's wrong with the once gentle good country I grew up in & fought for in combat. It's a shame that when the roof comes down it'll come down not only on all the rotten greedy ### who ruined it, but on the good and the innocent; those just trying to live honestly and modestly as well. Greedy Americans'Madison Avenue-driven belief in "Entitlement" to as much as they can get their hands on-however they can... Their ego attachments, the pursuit of ridiculous. insatiable amounts of wealth, power, big houses, shiny cars, has cost them their country, their worth as human beings, their souls.

I've had credit cards with Chase and auto leases with Chase. To put it bluntly, their customer service sucks tremendous balls! And I have an 800 credit score! I'm convinced when they hire people, being an ### is a requirement for the position. I finally rid myself of their cards and my auto lease just ended. I Will NEVER do business with this crap bank again who treat all it's customers like dirt (even the ones that pay). Sure, all banks charge fees, but usually you can get them waved. If not, at least their fees are reasonable or their customer service is friendly. Not with Chase! You could have paid every credit card statement for the last 20 years in full and if you miss one payment, they hit you with fees and there is zero negotiating. You're a complete number with this bank. Chase is pathetic bank. How this company got to where it is, is beyond me. Trust me, don't do business with Chase! Ever!

Chase is terrible. They just started charging me service fees for not having direct deposit or a mininum balance of $1500. I called them and they said they sent a letter about it in February stating that they were forcing me into this new account with all these restrictions. I asked them if they would reverse the fees and they said NO. Terrible, terrible customer service. I'm closing my accounts with Chase and telling all my friends and collegues to do the same. Tell your freinds too. Chase is the worst bank ever!

JPMorgan Chase stole my money

I started out with 85000 dollars, Sept 2008 before the year 2010 had came in all my money was gone, I did spend some of my money, but I never spent 85000 dollars on a debit card, my debit card was used as an admission from chase bank that I spent 85000 dollars on a debit card in less than a year, I was also receiving direct deposit, 8 thousand dollars that year, Chase refuse to investigate, they also allowed someone to endorse money into my account, they have also altered my summaries, I kept copies, it is a scam, they were also charging me for items more than once, the legal system dose not want to handle this, because they are scared of big corporations, I am trying to find me an attorney that is not scared to stand up, and face these thieves, there are many as my self, they prey on the elderly, my checks most of them I never saw them, I was blocked out of my account for almost a half a year, I did my banking on line, they used the excuse I did not have adobe the necessary software, but that was not true, I am a senior citizen, all of my savings or gone.

JPMorgan Chase wrongfully accused

I am writing to file a complaint against Chase Bank in regards to the following:
1. Improper and unprofessional services that Chase bank provided.
2. Received a harassment phone call from a teller Angela Araujo and an assistant Manager Mallorie Muncy from Chase Bank Branch in San Marcos.
3. Wrongfully accused my father regarding the overpayment of $100.
4. Violating our civil rights on accessing my father's checking account.
My father carried fifty 20 dollar bills, which total $1000, to Chase bank in San Marcos California for exchanging ten 100 dollar bills for me on April 2, 2011 around 11:00 a.m. Around 2:00 p.m., we received a phone call from a teller called Angela Araujo, who assisted my father at the bank. Ms Araujo states that she overpaid my father $100 earlier and would like my father to pay it back.
I asked Ms Araujo how did it happen, and she told me that my father wanted to exchange the bills and she overpaid my father during the transaction. I spoke with my father in regard to the situation. My father states that Ms Araujo counted the money twice, before she handed the total of $1000 back to him, which is the correct amount.
I explained the situation back to Ms. Araujo. I informed her that my father did not speak fluent English and I would like to represent my father to speak with the manager. After 10 minutes of waiting, no one responded.
Later that day, the bank manager, Mallorie Muncy called me back. She told me three different versions of the story. Version 1, Ms Muncy states my father only gave $900 worth of 20 dollar bills and Ms. Araujo returned $1000 worth of 100 dollar bills to my father. Version 2, Ms Muncy states my father only gave $900 worth of 20 dollar bills and Ms. Araujo returned $1100 worth of 100 dollar bills to my father. Version 3, Ms Muncy states my father only gave $920 worth of 20 dollar bills and Ms. Araujo returned $1100 worth of 100 dollar bills to my father.
I advised Ms. Muncy to review the surveillance tape, and I also requested to watch the clip to prove my father is innocence. The manager refused me to let me watch the tape and also said that once they find out, they will deduct $100 from my father's account.
We were very upset after the phone conversation with Ms Muncy. We felt extremely insulted and humiliated as Ms Araujo lost $100 dollar and they accused my father taking the money without any evidence.
Here are my questions and complaint:
1. Angela Araujo was not only serving my father, Chung Tak Chui, on April 2, 2011. Why did she only contact my father and stated that she overpaid my father?
2. Her story is not consistent and contradicting and they cannot just call and said that they overpaid my father and want my father to pay $100 back to them without any evidence.
3. They are wrongfully accusing my father about the overpayment of $100. If she states that she already knew it when my father was in the bank, then may I ask why Ms. Araujo and Ms. Muncy did not stop my father for the clarification before his departure? Based on their answer, Ms. Araujo already knows that she overpaid my father but he could not talk to my father as my father already left the building. This is not convincing, and they are ruining my father's reputation with their accusations.
4. Being a teller, it is her responsibility to count dollars bill correctly before they put bills into their drawer and they handed bills to the customers. They cannot just call the customers for any kind of problem; it is violating our privacy and striking our confident in their customer services. Not only that, they are also destroying my father's reputation.
5. This type of improper and ridiculous phone call is harassment. It is very unprofessional and we felt extremely insulted and humiliated by their accusations.

JPMorgan Chase dishonest practices/interest rates/fees

I borrowed $ 1000 from Chase Health Advance at the assistance of my dental office to pay for a dental procedure I had to have. I was told that if I paid the balance within a year I would have 0 percent interest. I paid the $ 1000 back within 5 months, but since I missed a payment in the beginning Chase kept charging me interest at almost 30 percent AND monthly fees of $ 39. So, I have been paying interest and fees on intereson fees. I called to see if we could negotiate and the best they said they could do was waive two fees. I offered to ptay the interest if they waived all the fees. They wouldn't. I offered to pay the balance of interest and fees on the statement that posted my last payment and they refused. If there is a way to submit a written complaint they wouldn't tell me and there is no direction for this on my statement. I missed a couple of monthly payments but paid the $ 1000 well before the year was out so I feel that paying over $ 300 on an initial loan of $ 1000 over 5 months is preditory. And interest and fees will continue to accrue. These are preditory practices geared towards people who are sick in some way or another and not up to their best. There is the letter of the law and the intent. Chase is pushing the letter of the law to squeeze every dollar possible out of people who sign up for their plan. I understood the associate at first to say that he would waive the fees if I would pay the interest. I said I could do that and how much would the interest amount to. He took a looooooong time to calculate the interest, and the came back with the original $ 327 plus change PLUS a $ 2 charge to pay over the phone. I asked him what the interest was. He said I had to pay the full amount, then he would back out 2 monthly fees (out of 6) and they would send me a check for the credit. So what was he calculating? I asked to speak with a supervisor and that took about 1/2 hour and I had to listen to the same line of music over and over and over again. That was just annoying but not surprizing. The supervisor didn't tell me anything new. Years and years ago I had a credit card with Chase Bank when my original credit card provider sold their accounts. I quickly closed the account as Chase was using unfair and predatory practices then. When my dentist suggested I use them, I decided enough time had passed and perhaps they had changed. They have not. I have found a new dentist too.

JPMorgan Chase worst manager ever

I've been banking at this location for over four years now and the new manager they have, has got to be the worst manager they have had. She does not know who to talk to the customers, she never knows the answer to any of your questions, she's always asking the employees what to do, and a few times that I've been in, she doesn't seem to have a good relationship with the employees. It is so bad I am changing banks and pulling all of my accounts from Chase, she's that crass and offensive. I would encourage all to avoid her at all cost.

JPMorgan Chase fraud

We are currently bringing legal action against Chase Home Finance . After 8 yrs of getting the run around with undisclosed fees, refusal to accept payment, refusal to supply escrow and documentation supporting fees, refusal to honor original mortgage that they purchased, violation or TILA (Truth in Lending Act). and most recent a adjustment in our Fixed rate mortgage that changed our Principle and interest more than $50 mo, without explanation. All documented and submitted to a NY Attorney and now the NYS Attorney Generals Office. I am looking for more people who may have been effected to push this action as a group or class action. This way Chase will then have to answer to their misdeeds, and can no longer use the excuse was a mistake or single incident. This bank has done more to destroy Middle Class working people and needs to be put in front of Congress and the US Senate, and all foreclosure and illegal actions halted. If you are having similar issues with this bank please contact me and I will pass along attorney information and will start creating a database for other who have also started actions so that their attorneys can show their incidents are not isolated.

If you read my report and still don’t leave Chase Auto Finance or avoid them if you don’t already do business with them, then be prepared for what you will get for ignoring me. I financed a new car with Chase in March ’09. In September ’09 I added another new car to Chase, so I had two auto finance accounts.

To make a very, very long story short, Chase Bank did something that was very unprofessional that hurt my credit so I closed my checking account and decided to move my auto accounts to other banks. My other bank sent Chase Auto Finance a check for Car A, and Chase paid off Car B.

Both banks have said that it’s my problem and I have now spent over two months trying to get Chase to reopen the account for the car that wasn’t paid off and pay off the correct car. I am now paying three car payments for two cars. Car A at Chase is being paid and Car B is being paid at both banks.

So you say this isn’t possible. They have to fix this. Well, all I can tell you is that you have not seen a level of incompetence like that at Chase Auto Finance until you see it with your own eyes. I have been told that it would be fixed in 7 business days, three times now.

It’s still not fixed and I doubt it will be until I finally just start suing both banks. I’ve had multiple days ruined arguing with these people all day on the phones. They’ve sent me letters halfway through the 7 day periods that they say they will fix the account asking for things that they’ve already asked for and received. It’s the most unbelievably simple mess to fix if you are competent. Consider yourself warned! Chase auto finance is an awful business to deal with.

I’ve never been late on a payment and they treat me like dirt and talk down to me. I hope they go bankrupt and all of those ### lose their jobs for what they’re doing to people. And by the way, Chase Bank is the reason that all of this even started. They are as bad as Chase Auto Finance. These people are ###. Stay away.

JPMorgan Chase unfair practice - using fraudulent charge in their interest!

I noticed a fraudulent charge of $1409 in my Chase Credit Card statement. I initiated a dispute with Chase Credit Card. During the next 3 months Chase Credit Card would credit my account as if returning the money and then rebill the money back again. It keeps looping over and over. When Chase Credit Card rebills the amount back and the credit card balance sky rocket up above $1409, it also applies interest charge to the new balance and claims big minimum payment of more than $100.
Customer Service would claim that they don't see on their computers what I see in my Chase Banking online. Dispute department would not return calls, answer official letters or faxes. They are not supporting their customers! Contrary, they are using the situation to rip the money off their customers who got into trouble with fraudulent charges on their credit cards.
Is there a government agency helping to protect rights of deceived credit card holders? If you've been in my situation and won the battle, could you please share what to do?

JPMorgan Chase wrongful closure of excellent standing account

I agreed with all of the victims of Chase credit card holders. Not only Chase customer service is horrific, the employees like Monique Green and Angelica (#CRE15M) are also outrageously abusive and out of control. They retaliated against me for making complaints by closing my checking account without warning and also closed my well established credit card account with excellent standing never late after I filed my grievance against them. It is so unjust to see these scums get away from “murder” using abusive power to commit fraud and wrongful acts and received no punishment on their evil actions.

"Please call me if you have any questions, concerns" -> (snicker)

New concern #1. (reference prior e-mail for concern -> re: this concern)

Chase Bank has reported my Corporation being delinquent/pastdue on (app) 45K over a 60 day period. Why is this so if i have paid the required funds during this same period as per the requirement of "extension" agreements for this same dollar that supposedly (?) superceded any other agreements for these monies owed to Equifax ?

If a concern over any confusion between my personal and/or corporation Equifax report is present, i will glady send you the pertinent page of the report from Equifax that is specifically for the corporation. I have had a recent eye examination and am capable of understanding the differences between proper names. The only evidence that i can supply on a short term basis would be a receipt for my last pair of glasses and my High School diploma.
If given a sufficient amount of time, i can and will submit notarized documents from certified testing concerns as to my abilities in these areas. Please advise as to what would be sutiable.

New Concern # 2 (reference prior e-mails -> re: this concern)

Have requested the status of current existing credit line of 50K. Status is used in the context of what is the viablity or availabilty of funds from this line of credit ? If available line of credit is not drawable, please explain why and what portion of the agreement for this line of credit has or may have been negated.

New Concern # 3 ( will i receive a W-2 or 1099 )

It came to my attention today that i was remiss in reminding an employee of Chase Bank to perform a task, one of which i was unclear of exactly who ( Chase or myself) was to perform to allow me to continue the pleasure of interaction with Chase Bank. I ask that Chase Bank's Human Resource department contact me about it's benefits package as i have been asked to perform tasks that in my opinion would be assigned to an assistant or a "loan officer". Also am still unaware of what my specific pay, hours, and actual address of where i should be working. I am a bit surprised that i was hired without an interview or my knowledge.

New Concern # 4 ( What's the deal? - Bob Barker, we love you ))

Have received nothing in relation to the terms, conditions, amount, codicils or any and all other descriptive legal terms used in reference to the verbal assertaions for the finance arrangement that we have been continually assured would eventually be forthcoming.
As i'm quite sure that Chase would "take my word for it", we evidently won't need any documentation of what may, has become, or might be future finance arrangements.

New Concern # 4 - Dealing with Chase bank.

JPMorgan Chase debiting unauthorized kpayments to checking account

On Wednesday, 3/16/20111 I sent $50 to Commonwealth Edison for my electric bill via Chase Bank’s online bill payment center. On Thursday, 3/17/2011, my Chase checking account online showed that two payments for $50 had been debited to the account. I had authorized and submitted only one payment to Edison.

When I talked to Chase telephone banker “Tracy in Texas” she said they would take care of canceling the second payment immediately and the unauthorized $50 would be in my checking account the nest day. When I ask3ed for her employee ID and a case number she refused to do either one and was rude.

On Friday, 3/18/2011 when I looked at my account there were still two $50 payments shown and debited. I talked to another Chase Telephone banker, Karen Ordiz, who said that nothing had been done to cancel or return the extra unauthorized payment and they would do nothing to solve the problem. It was my though luck. I could try and see what Commonwealth Ed would do.

I called Chase again to ask for a supervisor and was referred to Ryan Klaus, an online specialist, who said there was nothing he would do about it. They wouldn’t call Com Ed to see if they could help with the problem. When I told him I was planning to contact the bank’s executive office in New York and The Bett3er Business Bureau he did call Com Ed who told him they hadn’t processed the payments yet but would not cancel or return the extra one in any case.

Elizabeth Winnieski in the Executive Office in NY said that even though “Tracy in Texas” completely lied to me on Thursday saying they were taking care of the situation, there was nothing Chase would do to help me. I now know I can never use Chase’s online bill payment again.

I’m a senior citizen with scant income and no resources who just came back from attending an out of town funeral for a sudden, tragic death in the family and thus lost sever days pay. I desperately need the unauthorized $50 to get through the next few weeks. I want Chase to credit the $50.00 to my account.

Yes there has been a change made to the bill pay, but this is only so for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. On those days if you process a bill pay you will not see it deduct till the following business day which will be after 8pm on Monday. Now the payment will show that they were processed on that day you made them it is just not deducted on that day till the following business day. Any other BUSINESS day it will deduct as it always did before it is just the "weekend" thats changed. Also if you must see these payments to make sure that indeed you payed it you can go to your "pending payment activity" through your chase.com page under Bill Pay to see that the payments you made are pending for payment. I don't understand the need to make things a conspiracy when it comes to banks. I understand not everyone is bank savvy or computer savvy, but not everything is so black and white. There is not a need to write things done, but really everyone SHOULD be writing down what transactions they make so everyone can have a better idea of what they have to spend. I do and I am 26 it is just easier I cannot always depend on the bank to do this for me, because I know how things work in a bank. I know that some things are really just out of their hands, and they are just there for my need to hold my money. I know that sometimes when I swipe my card that it will pend, and typically will post next business day; but SOMETIMES the merchant doesn't make a deposit that day or the next, and the next. A bank can have an item pend for 3 to 4 business days, and if they never receive the info from the merchant it will fall off as if it never happened. This is so for most major banks then 1 week, 2 weeks, even 2 months later it will pop up to bite you in the butt. Why because we forgot especially after so long we thought it was gone already. It sucks I know I have been there with those dang fees. TO anyone who sees this WRITE IT DOWN... Now as for the bill pay and the OPs originally post either the banker did the process wrong or there was indeed and error on your part. Not saying you did but it happens.

I can totally see how this could happen. Chase has changed their online bill payment process, so whereas before you were able to see all the bills you just paid and the amounts would be deducted from the Available balance they now only give you any visibility to these transaction if you go into a separate section of the online bill pay module. No longer can you readily see what you just paid and who you paid so unless you are keeping track in a piece of paper somewhere (which completely defeats the purpose of online bill pay functionality) you will just keep writing checks against what you perceive to be an available balance. Ridiculous and shame on Chase. They claim this change was because customers were complaining that the deduction were being made but the check was not sent out...really? the deduction should be made, you just paid a bill! The reality is, this is Chase's way of getting their customers that may not be paying very close attention to write yet another check with insufficient funds that they can then capitalize on. Brilliant! As for me, I'm taking my 30 years of business elsewhere. 30 years!

JPMorgan Chase unethical practices

Have had my two cards originally with Providian, bought out by WAMU, then bought out by Chase. In the last eighteen months I have had my interest rate raised by at least 8-9%, with no reason given, other than "to maintain profitibility" on the account. Now i do carry balances on the cards, but i make more than than minimum payment required, never been late, never gone over the limit. In addition, within the last 18 months, my credit limit for both cards has been reduced twice, with the second one occurring yesterday(with no advance notice, i might add).my visa limit has been cut by 45% from its original limit, and my MasterCard has been cut by 56% from the original limit. The only answer to my numerous inquiries, were that the decision was based on extensive deliberation. Never mind the fact that i pay on time, never exceeded my limit, and send more than what is required. And when i asked this question."if your corporation cuts my limit, it makes my credit score worse because you are telling others i am have more debt that i actually have, because of the available limit, i got the typical "tough [censored], it is not our problem" answer. absolutely disgusting. this company raped the consumers repeatedly, got bailed out by the consumers, and is continually raping us still. but i will say this, i took great satisfaction in getting both representatives to hang up on me instead of the other way around. will be glad when my balance is zero, and they call me with all the offers to increase this and that. will lovingly tell them to "stick it straight up their candy a**es"

JPMorgan Chase mortgage modification

Today we received a letter from an attorneys office for foreclosure on our home. For the past couple months they have been telling us to not make any payments because it will mess up the modification rework. There are so many different numbers to call and everyone tells us something different. The guy on the phone today said that we took a risk by not paying the monthly payment. They misinformed us. If I had known this I would have been making the payments. Now we are behind over $5000. I don't think this is right and I am trying to figure out the best route to take.

JPMorgan Chase didn't submit my $125.00 paychecks back to me

Chase bank of san antonio, texas, keeps on sending me vouchers, instead of checks. Because, I could receive paychecks for $125.00, $100.00, and $75.00. Checks that have my name, street address, city, state and zip code, and the amount stamped on my paychecks, using plenty of black ink. I wish they should stop mailing me vouchers, and, mail paychecks to my house. So, I can cash my checks at a local store that accepts my paychecks, and, cashes them, too. So, i'll feel better, now, i'm happy that chase bank of san antonio, texas, is mailing me back some paychecks, that have mix or match amounts stamped on it. And, my guardian, will drive me to a local store and, i'll cash my paychecks there.

JPMorgan Chase unethical business

Opened a bank account at local branch with a coupon that was mailed to me for a rebate of $125. that was supposed to be credited to my account when a monthly direct deposit was made to my new account. Several months have gone by without any credit being made, so I contacted Chase using telephone number that was on my statement.
It was there that I started to get irritated, as they asked what the coupon code was (didn't know that I needed to keep record of that) and the name of the person who opened the account and the date. Now doesn't Chase have all this information in their data base? OF course they do. As a sidenote I spoke to three people to get to this point and was told that they could not give me Chase's corporate telephone number (which I got at a later date thru investigation of mine 800 chase99).
Now I am waiting to hear back from Chase to whether they will credit my account with the $125., or as the person at the executive office tells me 'that there is a slim chance' of this happening, as it's not in their data base.
What kind of company is this? Why do they act so unethical? Why did our gov't give them a bailout when they act so dishonest?

pobarjenkins: I appreciate you straightening me out; as I can see from your many postings - this is what you've appointed yourself to do. Now re Chase or any other bank or business, am I to assume that if some business committed to giving you money, product or service and didn't that you would feel that this is okay/normal/ethical behavior? And yes I feel that any business that doesn't live up to it's commitments, makes it difficult for their customers to get what they advertise is UNETHICAL. And as far as what you are doing by posting everywhere on this site acting like you are the arbitor of right and wrong - is just laughable. Obviously you are some poor drone that has nothing to do other than read postings and make comments. IF you're not acting as a drone for some of these companies, I suggest that you get a real job, something with substance that will keep you occupied - rather than looking for something to do on this site. And fyi I still think you are a shill for this and other companies - as many companies today hire other companies to do exactly what you do - DEFEND them!

Update by lalanu

yes it does! but what bothers me is that Chase acts like they never heard of this coupon and when asked they didn't know the name of the person nor the branch that the account was opened. In addition they asked me questions of where I lived 30 years ago, which I never gave them nor is it relevant to our conversation - it's just for their knowledge and they still refuse to answer my questions. this whole experience is just dumb. Chase spends millions of dollars attempting to garner new business then they do everything in their power to irritate people. Just had a conversation with a friend who told me that they went into Chase to get their balance and recent checks and were told that there was a charge - which they refused to pay - they then asked for the manager and he said he would wave their fees. So now we have banks who do not want to send checks back to you, want to charge you for sending a statement w/small photos of the checks and then give you almost no interest on your savings accounts when the federal gov't has bailed them out and given them additional funds to work with. Does this make sense? whocares is probably just another drone for Chase - they all have them and they monitor sites like this to combat their deplorable business practices. How about just running a business like you want customers to continue to be customers. Guess that's to hard for the Jamie Diamonds (Chase ceo) of the world. I say good ridance to all of them and I'm going to look for a smaller bank who wants my personal and business accounts! Bye Bye Jamie...!

Update by lalanu

pobarjenkins; of course I know, wouldn't make that comment if I didn't. Subsequent to speaking to a nobody at the corporate office (as that's all they have there), I spoke to a Chase branch manager - who confirmed that they did have the information. porarjenkins Obviously you are playing the company line - Chase isn't even smart enough to post a proper reply. With Chase corporate - it's just deny deny deny - and act stupid. Why doesn't Jamie Diamond (ceo?) stop hiding behind the skirts and handle their (Chase's) business like a reputable company? Cause he nor the others involved with corporate policy are interested, they are just interested in obtaining the maximum benefit for their shareholders - which I have no problem with - unless it means operating UNETHICALLY - which Chase does! Your reply (obviously a company drone) just made my decision, which is to pull our personal bank accounts Plus Business accounts from Chase. Congrads...you did what the company wanted you to do and now they've lost business. Absolutely Stupid

Maraiscool: First - you are 100% correct about which is more important my $125 or Chase's revenue's. The coupon code was entered by 'personal banker', the personal banker from Chase - was not available when I called, nor did the personal Chase banker call me back. Now 'Dude' (as you called me), don't you think that the management in charge of these promotions for Chase, should set in place the procedures? And wouldn't one of those procedures be to make sure the process goes well for Chases new customers? Including putting into place procedures for cases 'where it does go wrong' and that Chase's staff knows about promotions and can respond appropriately, rather than say 'Chase has no such promotions" - when they actually do? " 'Dude' - think you are defending someone who should take care of business. But I am pleased to see that Chase at least has enough sense to hire folks to reply to their bad business behavior - 'Dude'.

Although I'd be irritated also for not having the $125 credit to my account, I find it very funny how quick you are to attack employees left and right, even Mr Dimon is a bad guy (I'm not saying he's a good guy either)- all of this rage because of $125.
Dude, first of all, trust me if Jaime Dimon would focus only on jerks like you the Bank wouldn't have an annual revenue of more than $102 Billion Dollars. While you are so upset for your $125, there are hundreds of thousands who are happy with the way Chase has been doing business... now I ask you: If you were the CEO of the biggest bank in America, would you call every single idiot who doesn't receive their $125 for technical purposes or would you focus on the $102 Billion that you can make the company produce.
Second, if you haven't received your $125, has it crossed through your small brain that it could be that the coupon code was never entered by your personal banker when he opened the account? Have you taken the time to look into your "new account booklet" and see if there is a confirmation for the code being entered?
Third, have you talked to the personal banker who opened your account?
Again, let's not blame corporations for simple things. If every time a car breaks down people opened a blog complaining how evil car companies are we wouldn't have room for real important matters.
I feel sorry for you buddy

Chase Bank, or should I say Loan Shark Bank. They have a new fee, it's only $12.00 a month for what was once Free Checking. So, now that they can't get as many overdraft fees, because of the new law, they are now going back to charging for Free Checking. Also they want to to the Frist to raise ATM Fees to $5.00 or more, depending on what state you live in.
Our Goverment, what a joke, is filled with Lobbiest in Washington DC that work for the Banks and the Credit Cards.
The Change in Gouging the Consumer needs to start in Washington, where we have a hand full representitives who are on our side, but they are few.
What im afraid may happen one day soon, is similar to what has been happening to the Middle East, where the people have gotten fed up and have revoted agaist the Goverment.

JPMorgan Chase violation of standarts

On December 14, 2010 I attempted to purchase a Christmas gift for my wife, but my Chase VISA card was rejected.
When I called Chase I was told that I exceeded my credit limit. I knew that my limit was approximately 16K and that I had just paid $5800, which would have allowed my extra purchasing power. After speaking with a customer service person who was rude and ignorant, possessing no listening skills, I spoke with a supervisor, Brandon *******, who also tried to explain the reason for the reduced limit.
For the 10th time, I told him that I wasn't calling about that, and I did not care about the reason.
My complaint was that I was not notified that my credit limit was reduced. Mr. ******* said that I would be notified in a day or two. Eleven days before Christmas you take my ability to purchase gifts away from my without advising me. This must be a violation of some standard.
Oddly enough, today (December 20, 2010) I received the notice (copy enclosed).

You can be assured I'll be closing my account.

They did this to millions of people not just you and yes it is a jacked up thing to do they can and what is worse they can raise your interest rates because of business reasons, not because of being late of missing a payment they can do just that.
Secondly when they reduced your credit limit it also lowered your overall credit score as well, you need to look at all your credit cards to see what has been done.
How does this adversly affect you well you could have perfict credit and never miss a payment and you credit score was lets say around 790, then they reduce your credit limits on your cards making you closer or over your limit reducing your credit score to 690 if not lower. With your credit card companies checking your credit score twice a year they will see your lower credit score then raise your interest rates based off of you being a higher risk.
Best thing is to pay your credit cards down to 20% of there current limits then you will see an increase in your credit score and more buying power.
This is your wake up call to stop charging for the items you purchase and pay cash.
This is a way that credit cards companies are screwing over people who have been responsible.

JPMorgan Chase fraud

I hope you have seen the recent CNN exposure of JP Morgan Chases theft of military service men’s mortgage payments and fraudulent foreclosures. For years Chase has been over-charging on military mortgages, ignoring veterans complaints, harassing for payment and threatening foreclosure. JP Morgan chase is also guilty of fraud in applying the MHAP guidelines which has resulted in an over charge in my HAMP modification, and no doubt, also affects hundreds if not thousands of seniors. Their ongoing fraudulent application of the MHAP guidelines results in cheating those on social security and pension income and is a violation of truth-in-lending laws as well as blatant age discrimination. I have the documentation to support my allegations.
I need legal help in fixing yet another injustice perpetrated by Chase. Home Finance.

Sincerely,

Robert B. Hall

There is an old adage “Liars figure but figures don’t lie”

JP Morgan Chase, a case study in Liars that figure.

This is a story that rivals the criminal activities of Enron’s Executives (“the smartest men in the room”) with one major difference, Enron’s victims were primarily investors, whereas Chases victims are vulnerable and financially distressed Chase customers. This includes US servicemen and their families and thousands of others facing foreclosure, with chase “gaming” the Obama MHAP program to steal from, and foreclose on, seniors seeking help from the federal program designed to provide financial relief.

Chase says it will pay more than $2 million to about 4, 000 service member mortgage holders that were overcharged in interest while they were on active duty. The bank's decision is linked to a five-year legal battle with Marine Capt. Jonathan Rowles, an F/A-18D weapons system officer who sued after the institution continued to charge him 9 or 10 percent interest on his mortgage -- a violation of the Service members Civil Relief Act -- and threatened to take his home. .

This is just the tip of the iceberg.

This is a story that will not be welcome or embraced by politicians influenced (if not corrupted) by big banking lobbyists.

This is a story that can change the way elected officials will level the playing field for the most vulnerable of our citizens victimized by the US banking system.

This is a story that needs to be pursued by the institutions that are chartered to challenge the criminal activities aimed at our most vulnerable and least protected citizens.

This is a story that should culminate in the prosecution of responsible Chase management under the “RICO Act’.

The Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (commonly referred to as RICO Act or RICO) is a United States federal law that provides for extended criminal penalties and a civil cause of action for acts performed as part of an ongoing criminal organization. RICO was enacted by section 901(a) of the Organized Crime Control Act of 1970 (Pub.L. 91-452, 84 Stat. 922, enacted October 15, 1970). RICO is codified as Chapter 96 of Title 18 of the United States Code, 18 U.S.C. § 1961–1968. While its intended use was to prosecute the Mafia as well as others who were actively engaged in organized crime, its application has been more widespread.
Under RICO, a person who is a member of an enterprise that has committed any two of 35 crimes—27 federal crimes and 8 state crimes—within a 10-year period can be charged with racketeering. Those found guilty of racketeering can be fined up to $25, 000 and sentenced to 20 years in prison per racketeering count. In addition, the racketeer must forfeit all ill-gotten gains and interest in any business gained through a pattern of "racketeering activity." RICO also permits a private individual harmed by the actions of such an enterprise to file a civil suit; if successful, the individual can collect treble damages.
In many cases, the threat of a RICO indictment can force defendants to plead guilty to lesser charges, in part because the seizure of assets would make it difficult to pay a defense attorney. Despite its harsh provisions, a RICO-related charge is considered easy to prove in court, as it focuses on patterns of behavior as opposed to criminal acts.
There is also a provision for private parties to sue. A "person damaged in his business or property" can sue one or more "racketeers." The plaintiff must prove the existence of a "criminal enterprise." The defendant(s) are not the enterprise; in other words, the defendant(s) and the enterprise are not one and the same. There must be one of four specified relationships between the defendant(s) and the enterprise. A civil RICO action, like many lawsuits based on federal law, can be filed in state or federal court. Both the federal and civil components allow for the recovery of treble damages (damages in triple the amount of actual/compensatory damages).
Although its primary intent was to deal with organized crime, Blakey said that Congress never intended it to merely apply to the Mob. He once told Time, "We don't want one set of rules for people whose collars are blue or whose names end in vowels, and another set for those whose collars are white and have Ivy League diplomas."

I am experiencing the same issues it seems EVERYONE who has ever gone through the bank to apply for HAMP is, which is lost paperwork, did not check a box, need more info, you don't qualify but won't say why, blah blah blah. They have over $100k of my money at an outrageous interest rate, so I guess they just don't care. Oh the icing on the cake? After telling me I do not qualify, still sent me paperwork for the modification. What are people supposed to do? Where is there any help?

we've been in mod program for 18 months (18 trial payments) and still no dice. We're not asking for reduction in principle or reduction in interest, which is fixed at 6.25%. We are underwater and our credit is shot, by Chase who has been reporting us as delinquent the whole time. Go figure.

not just military that chase rip's off self employed small bus. people get charged the highest interest rate's of all
I HATE THIS BANK when you call customer service no one speaks english if you ask for a office in the USA that cant connect you !
They do everything they can to have the worst customer service possible All these great speeches the president make not one bank is stepping up to help consumers
We simply ask for our interest rate to be lowered no money out they flat refused if the president really want to help boost economy he would simply force the banks to lower interest on all mortgages over 10 years these banks have already in most cases made more than double the money back already
