We obtained our Cru from this breeder and had a series of troubles with his health starting around his age of 1. He had a seizure 3 weeks after his first birthday and was immediately taken to the vet and no diagnosis was found. After this seizure his behaviour was greatly impacted and he became very protective as if something in his brain had snapped and he was never the same. We took Cru to a holistic vet as his also had major skin irritations and had an overgrowth of bacteria on his skin, luckily we got that under control. We did obedience training, had trainers come to ### him but we could not have "new" visitors in the house since his seizure. A year later (sept 2015) we were on our morning walk and he fell to the ground and was seizing on the sidewalk, Cru did not recover. We had an autopsy done and it was stated he succumbed to idiopathic epilepsy. The breeder was informed Nd was nothing but blaming stating I gave him worm medication and overmedicated him and that was why he died. None of this was true but posted a picture I had sent her stating that he did after a worm treatment I gave him! This lady is insensitive, rude, and malicious and I hope that word gets around and she stops breeding. It was the worst heartache and a never ending traumatic experience that in no way is bringing my Cru back .
Information was not provided as we decided against the puppy, why would we give the documentation, that we had, if we no longer wanted to deal with you?
Hmmmm... I came by this post per chance when I was doing a search. I cannot comment on the veracity of the experiences of said "customers". But we can tell you of ours, which stands in stark contradistinction, having two beautiful black GSD from Doreen and Chambo.
We found Doreen to be extremely attentive to her dogs. It was our impression that Doreen had great affection for the pups she bred and that Doreen showed a great deal of care toward them, taking this on as a responsibility while also being a "business" .
Doreen asked us many questions to ensure we would be responsible owners, and we also know that she turned away a potential buyer, as she had concerns they would be unable to take care of the pup due to their two young children. When you further consider the low frequency of litters she has available over the course of a year, this is evidence of a responsible breeder who does this for the love of the breed, as do most breeders.
Unlike the very derogatory terms being used by the "customers", I can't see a breeder being able to continue to breed the same breed over some thirty years from the same place unless they were caring and ethical. Word gets around pretty quick in such a small world!
In the end, I would say that the two individuals are not reliable sources of information and complaints and, instead, that they may trying to find blame for their sad experiences, where there is no blame to be had. So, take these peoples' complaints with a tremendous dose of salt.
Were it not for Doreen and her wonderful brood of dogs, along with the care she shows to her breeding, we certainly would not have one but two beautiful and well-tempered GSD that have brought much joy and warmth to our home for more than nine years... And hopefully, many more...
I wish I would have seen this before getting a puppy from Doreen (Chambo's German Shepherds).
Though I do not like complaints and complainers, I do have to agree that my experience with Chambo's German Shepherds and its owner Doreen was about the same. All she cares is money, she is a dishonest, rude and unethical person. The review is probably true.
Good Morning, I received notification about this post this morning and out of shock as it has been 5 years since our loss. My complaint is very real! I'm so sad to hear that you had the same issues- our loss was devastating as he was only 2 years old. I only made this original post as a warning to others, our family was shook to the core with his passing and still are. Feel free to reach out if you need any other details
If I was willing to solve the problem why is she complaining? There is no reason that she should be allowed to ruin my reputation. We both agree that she refused to send documentation and as a result decided against getting a puppy. Please remove complaint
This lady requested a replacement puppy. When asked to produce documentation as to veterinarian care and proof of death. She refused. She said an autopsy was performed. Why wasn't I sent a copy as proof of death? This lady is a scammer. On her word only, I am supposed to give her a free puppy.
