Challenger Store / Lying Sales People & managers who protect them!

Had an extremely bad expereince at Challenger Store in Singapore. I had gone there for the first time, looking for some small consumer electronics. At digital camera section, a pushy sales guy was trying to sell us a particular camera. We weren't too sure - so he said he'll give us one orignal battery worth $80 free if we buy now. That seemed like a good deal - so we said yes.

So when he started getting the stuff out - there was no battery. I asked for it again. He was like i need to check if i can give that to you. Then we went and said yes - and gave me a cheap 'compatible' battery worth $20. When i questioned him that this was not the deal we agreed to - he went away and started a sales pitch to another customer. And his manager took over. The manager tried to convince me that this was the deal sold and we should not disturn the orignal sales guy from his customers to confirm with him.

After 15 mins of discussion - I was extremely disgusted with the whole lying to close the sale and cover-up. If you cant afford to give a deal - why offer in first place. Just leaves a BAD taste with your customers. Not only the sales-person a liar, the manager was obviously aware and supportive. Never again will i shop in the store or recommend anyone goes to this cheating, lying store.

    Bad customer service! Recently bought iPad 2 sticker protector, failed attempt while trying to fix it at home. Went back to the shop & ask for assistance. Pass me to 3 different people then ask me for receipt, told him the challenger price tag is still on the box. Still hesitate to do it, then told him to check sales record by giving him exact date & time of purchase. He didn't check. Seeing that I won't leave without getting the help I need, he help me put the sticker on. Lastly, he handed the sticker box to me & told me to dispose it outside. I'm so shock! And I'll definitely not recommend anyone to this kind of treatment.

    CHALLENGER SUPERSTORE FUNUN IT MALL HAS A VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE COMPARED TO LAST TIME .NOW THE STAFF AT THE SOFTWARE DEPT ARE NOT WELL VERSED WITH SOFTWARE PRODUCTS, AND MOST OF THEM ARE UNDERSTOOD TO BE MALAYSIANS .SO I GUESS ITS BETTER TO BUY HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE FROM THOSE SMALLER SHOPS IN FUNAN IT MALL.THE CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGER IS ALWAYS PROTECTING THE STAFF FOR WHAT THEY HAD SAID TO ITS CUSTOMERS, THATS WHY THERE ARE NUMEROUS CASES WITH CASE .IF CHALLENGER IT SUPERSTORE GOES ON LIKE THIS I AM AFRIAD THE BUSINESS WILL CLOSE DOWN A NUMBER OF OUTLETS IN SINGAPORE WHEN THERE IS A GREAT COMPETITION IN THE IT INDUSTRY.THE MANAGEMENT IS NOT CAPABLE TO HANDLE COMPLICATED ISSUES AND THE STAFF ARE ALSO NOT ATTENDNG TO CUSTOMERS, I WOULD GIVE A RATING OF 2 OUT OF 10 IN CUSTOMER SERVICE.

    CHALLENGER SUPERSTORE - AVOID AT ALL COSTS ! THE MANAGEMENT STAFF ARE ALSO ONE OF THE WORSE IN THE IT INDUSTRY, 0% GOES TO CHALLENGER FOR ITS SERVICE AND KNOWLEDGE .THE STORE IS HUGE WITH NO SERVICE .I AM SURE THEY WILL CLOSE DOWN ITS BUSINESSES THIS YEAR !

    Challenger Hougang Mall-Today around 5pm just went to this shop to purchase ipod shuffle.I ask the staff to get me a green ipod shuffle, however he get me a yellow.The two colour was so similiar and i didn't know how the green really look like until after payment made and check online throught iphone.Therefore, i request to exchange and i am willing to get it from other branch but the staff told me they are out of stock, so i request a refund.The counter staff who is a fat india women told me that they are unable to make the cash refund and only able to make the voucher refund, so i am angry and said this is to force me to purchase ur products.In addition, she has a very bad face and attitude and she scold the staff who serve me infornt of me and other customers.In the end, she make the credit refund to mine debit card and i paid by visa as i said this is not mine fault.I had never heard before that only able to refund by voucher under singapore LAW.please pushnish this kind of challenger staff, counter staff should be always smilling and not showing a bad face to customers.Even during payment she also show me a bad face and when she said thank you like getting force.

    Challenger sucks!
    The sales people lies to me by saying that I can become member with a fee of S$ 20 and still get the money back after the membership expires. Their website, however, says the membership is unrefundable!!
    Never will I buy anything from Challenger.
    Sales people there are all liers!

    When I pay for my purchases this evening at Challenger AMK, the lying cashier told me that there is a promotion for free membership upgrade to Associate Membership n I can register 3 members. Never once did she mention each Associate Membership costs $10. I even asked twice is she sure it's free and she just asked which free gift I want. I should wise up then and check my bill but did not as my hands r full. I just signed for my purchasing n left. Found out when I'm home that $30 have been charged for 3 membership!! I will definitely NOT renew my membership ever again!!

    Really sucks!!!

    Whenever I was paying for my purchases, the cashier would always try to get you to extend membership [or to join if you don't have one]. Just yesterday, same scenario when I was at IMM outlet. There's this current promotion that upon renewal, you get $100 voucher. I was thinking why not? Since I'll have to get some laser toner very soon, & my current points are sufficient to offset the fees. What she didn't say was that the vouchers are only discount vouchers, & valid only for their house brand range, which are nitty-gritty accessories. She only said so after the transaction, & I have to find out myself that the vouchers [each $20] can only be used if you purchase $40 or more per voucher. Bear in mind also that the expiry is by end Sept, & not is July. How on earth am I going to buy $200 dollars worth of nitty-gritties, when most of my purchases are products of other brands? I politely requested for reversing the transaction, & she said there's nothing she can do as points deducted are not refundable.


    Don't ever believe that points cannot be reversed [or goods cannot be returned]. Which I did get them to do just that for me. You just have to show them your anger when you 're in the right. As I felt very cheated, I was very angry, but not violent not rude. All other staff either melted away from the scene, or froze on the spot. Thinking back now, it is funny to observe their grave stricken face.


    Don't ever dive head-in to whatever promotions they offer, there's always a catch as far as I'm concern with Challenger.
    I believe they should explain the usefulness of the vouchers more than the way to get hold of them. I believe it was deliberately obscured, & they could get away with it from "less demanding" customers, but not me.
    If its not for the convenience, I won't be buying from them. I could always order toners at a cheaper price somewhere else.

    Extremely bad service at challenger BUGIS JUNCTION. "Product/Service" was written on their Facebook, but they only offer Extremely Bad SERVICE on 23rd April 2018, @ Basement Bugis Junction challenger.
    1. The Male who assisted me at Customer Service Counter was impolite I have few questions to ask because the item (Chrome Cast) that we bought for our company is not the item that we are looking for. Apparently we just need the basic adaptor that we can use for our business presentation that will link to TV or any wider screen) This Male who is trying to be genius shows his refusal gesture and the way he speak is really annoying (the tone of voice and his facial reaction) it seems he knows everything in the world and he don’t even listen to my explanation first. He called his Supervisor name “Jamie” I am not sure if her name I spelled correctly.
    2. This Supervisor “Jamie” is not helpful at all and she don’t even listen to my explanation. I received SMS from my colleague to check if they have the “Microsoft Wi-Fi adapter display” instead maybe they can replace the item and we can top-up additional cash as we really need to fix it for our up-coming business presentation. They agree with that maybe because in favor for them. I took the item to our office when we try on our Laptop and system it does not work, so I went back to the store and return back the device. The same Male staff assisted me and again he show his refusal gesture and try to educate me that this item is only compatible with Windows 8 & 10. Then I said to him why you did not inform me before I took the item, you supposed to inform your customer since you already knew the software requirement for this device. Then he keep putting the blame to me. I said let’s find alternative solution instead of arguing can you help me to change with HDMI Cable instead that has the same amount of the “Microsoft Wi-Fi adapter display”. Then again he called his Supervisor Jamie then they both agree not to refund or replace with other item. She insisting that the box and seal has been opened (are you kidding me?) of course we need to use the item that is why we bought it. She is unreasonable all the way the conversation.
    3. This is really ridiculous behavior of the staff and supervisor towards your Members and corporate client. You both are not deserve to any customer service field as you do not have passion to serve your guest and member. Please send your staff to a customer service training course and she don’t deserve wearing supervisor badge.
