This review was chosen algorithmically as the most valued customer feedback.

I unwittingly bought merchandise from Chadwick’s after the mother company had already filed bankruptcy. I read the biz pages and saw nothing about this over the summer.
I returned all of the items, and the customer service reps have told me repeatedly that they received the items, that the credit was recorded on 9/6, but that due to the financial reorganization, my credit would be on hold for the next 45-60 days and then hopefully would be resolved. Meanwhile they are still selling product. Absurd.

Here is one example:

Dear Sarah,

My name is Jenelle and I will be assisting you. Although I can confirm that your returns of $45.98 and $80.47 were processed on 09/06/11, I do not see the credit issued to your Discover credit card. The reason the credit have not yet been issued to your credit card is due to our current financial restructuring process.

We would like to apologize for the inconveniences you have encountered, and thank you for being so patient with us. Your frustration is absolutely understandable.

As you may know, we are currently undergoing financial restructuring. Unfortunately, this is what has been affecting your merchandise refund; however, the restructuring process is nearly complete and you will be contacted within the next 45-60 days with a resolution.

Once again, we sincerely apologize for any inconveniences you have encountered as a result of this issue and we promise to make it right.

Please do not hesitate to contact us regarding any additional questions or concerns you may have.

Thank you for contacting Chadwicks Internet Support!

The new company that took over is shipping items never ordered. Difficulty getting to customer service (wait over 30 minutes on hold) and rep cannot resolve. Transferred to Tier 2 rep only to be put on hold another 30 minutes. Hung up. Contacted WFNNB (credit card bank) which asks for your social security number before you can get live person! These failure to disclose, delay tactics and out right fraudulent practices by all three companies clearly indicate a pattern and is no coincidence. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM ANY OF THE ENTITIES BY OR THROUGH CHADWICK'S INCLUDING JESSICA LONDON AND METRO STYLE!

and you won't see anything, I was just able to reach the new company which says you must file a claim with the United States bankruptcy court!

Sarah the same thing has happened to me. The thing that really got to me is that there weren't any notices mailed out to the customers with credits. I kept calling until I finally reached a representative that told me Chadwicks was going out of business and that my credit amount was tied up in the legal logisitics of the bankruptcy. She also said that I would receive a merchandise credit from the new company, , , , but they did not know who that would be at the time. Until today, Jan 2012...I have received NOTHING!

To sonyvega: She didn't say she returned the items because they were in bankruptcy. And yes, Chadwick's IS CLOSING (going out of business) at the end of October. Google it.
To Sarah: If you haven't received your credit, your best bet is to contact Discover Card. You have 180 days from the date of the charge to file a dispute. Better to do it sooner than later. Save any documentation you have. The website ehow.com has a webpage "How to Dispute a Charge on a Discover Card". Good Luck.
