CenterPoint Energy furnace

After purchasing a furnace from you in January 2018 I had to call for service because I had a lake around the base of my new furnace in June a technician came and said the air conditioner was plugged, he said he cleaned the pipe and opened up to clean pan also. Then again on June 23 I had to call again this guy showed me the pan and coils of air conditioner totally rusted out and I would need a new air conditioner. This disgusted me that the furnace installers had to have seen and first repair man definitely saw it! All the components in furnace were wet and I'm concerned about that and what it has done to new furnace!

CenterPoint Energy gas bill

Larry came out and did a test on our home to see what all was gas in our home which se already knew was only the hot water meter. I'm which he confirmed that the hot water heater was the only thing using gas. Our bill is ridiculous there is no way our bill should be running so high. I feel we are being over charged. And community action paid 2 separate bills for us this year. I do not believe that amount was ever credited to our account. The Center Point Entergy need to be investigated.

CenterPoint Energy billing

I recently paid my bill for the month of May and I paid that in full and apparently after I had paid my payment in full and they received it and I got a receipt for that. I had a ending balance of $28 and some change which I did not know that I needed to pay my service was cut off for $28 and some change. I think that's ridiculous, is ridiculous customer service and you put your customers through a hardship and a reconnect fee of course, so that you can get your lights turn back on. My husband just recently and I mean recently in this time frame had a stroke and has been diagnosed with a triple a aneurysm the last thing we need is for him to be uncomfortable at home with no lights and no air he could have died from a situation like this. For less than 30 bucks. Not 300 not 3000 less than $30 . when my contract is up, I will absolutely look for another competitor. I am not ever going to use their customer service or service it all again.

CenterPoint Energy response to power outage

We have been without power at 20624 Hufsmith Kohrville since May 27, 2018 - approximately 12 hours at this point. Despite numerous calls to report the outage on May 28th (at approximately 3:00 am, 6:06 am, and 9:30 am), Centerpoint kept telling us that the power was on and did not send anyone out. Instead, the ticket was closed because the Centerpoint system said that we had power. It appears that Centerpoint had a failure in the field due to personnel that stated and reported in the system that all repairs had been made and with the power outage reporting system since our reports were ignored. If appears that the actual source of our outage was an open fuse on Hufsmith Kohrville just south of Willow Creek, Tomball, TX (see attached photograph). I request a meeting with a Manger to discuss our continued repeat outages at our house and an explanation of the failures in Centerpoint's system and would like to be reimbursed for damaged food in our refrigerator. My phone number is [protected].

CenterPoint Energy gas

I am victim of Hurricane Harvey, been trying to get a "kill Letter" to prove to Habitat for Humanity that I have disconnected my Gas. I had CenterPoint Gas turn off my Gas Service in April, What should I do?

I have been sending emails and voice mail for well over one month to get a "kill Letter"> Most CenterPoint employees want to send me the last bill. Which Habitat has told me is un acceptable.

Who at CenterPoint should I speak with?

Thanks,

CenterPoint Energy electricity

I live at 943 Earlsferry Channelview 77530 and for a time awhile back our electricity would go off and on quite frequently. Then we had a major outage and I had a discussion with several Repairmen and they told me that our transformers and underground lines were old in Sterling Green South. It took them a long time for us to get back our electricity. My house and about 8 others were the last to get our power back. The transformer in my back yard was the culprit and they said they would have to replace it and the lines soon. That never happened. Now it's starting up again with the power blips. 5/15/18, two so far today. Someone needs to do something about the bad equipment in my neighborhood or I will start calling the local news stations on this matter.

CenterPoint Energy service

When trying to have your services restored they tell you they can't give you a time. Only that it will be between 8am and 5 pm my wife calls at 230 after missing work and staying home all day because they won't turn it on without anyone there they tell her " oh it hasn't been assigned to anyone yet" they have you where they want you but that's ok we are looking into going fully electric and their MAIN line runs through our property and may fight to get them to move the line if this happens again

CenterPoint Energy centerpoint energy

The shreveport location crew is very unprofessional. If my service is disconnected for ANY reason, and I pay for same day reconnection I should get reconnected the same day, or my money back. If no one is home the technican should at least remove the pin from the gas meter. The water company does it I dont see any reason for the gas company not to. I am a tax paying citizen who happens to be a home owner. I think I'm pretty capable of lighting my own hot water heater. Some of the techs show up with attitudes. One even said I had a gas leak, after paying 500.00 to a master plumber I found that was a lie. I've had agents say tech came out when I know they didn't because i took off work for a day just to use another unnecessary vacation day to ensure someone showed up. I'm really sick of it and fed up to the point I'm starting to feel like there HAS to be some legal action us, as people can take to protect our self for being duped. Something needs to change and soon because this is becoming outrageous.

CenterPoint Energy power outages

I am a registered as a Critical Care consumer with CenterPoint Energy. I am on a ventilator and cannot breathe without one. (Portable units are not manufactured). Over the past 2 weeks there have been 4 separate momentary power outages, shutting down all power & ventilator. Although the cessation of power is brief, the time it takes for the ventilator to reboot & recalibrate is lengthy. After contacting CenterPoint about the issue, I was ready to bank my head against the wall. They acknowledged the recurring outages and admitted that other homes in proximity to mine were experiencing the same issues. However, they refuse to address those issues because they are "Momentary ". I suppose they are waiting for a total lengthy blackout! They suggested an auxiliary power supply, ie, a generator, perhaps. My electrical feed & gas line are on opposite sides of my home-$15, 000 to do

CenterPoint Energy driver

On Friday March 23, 2018 around 4:00 pm, Centerpoint Energy Truck 2462, got on to the west park toll road in front of me, and as soon as they began to accelerate, rocks and other materials were flying out of their trailer and hit my windshield leaving 5 chips in the driver's view.
I would like for someone to be responsible for getting this fixed for me, and there needs to be some type of protocol for your employees to make sure they check for these things before getting on any road that will have them at higher speeds.

CenterPoint Energy charging customers for centerpoint “mistakes”

I believe CenterPoint Energy is not an organization of integrity, rather they are taking advantage of consumers in the Houston, Texas, Area who have no other service options, and the State of Texas is allowing this to happen.

My gas bill after 4 years was suddenly double even though I know our usage to be less. We have fewer people to shower, less laundry, and cooking less.
Turned out we had a leak on our meter from when a tech came to restore service. I now believe CenterPoint tells techs to leave meters leaking at low usage residential properties so customers pay more. Why? Because customer service says the company is not financially liable for tech mistakes or for leaky meters, even if they caused it and it just takes a quick tightening on their part to fix. This is completely unethical to not assume responsibility. And, I believe if a stellar reporter checked into it, we would find techicians getting kickbacks on leaving meters leaking.

Additionally, they are not properly notifying customers if a bill is not paid thru autopay or otherwise. They are not notifying at all. Numerous comments and reviews confirm this unethical practice of having extremely short cutoff time between a payment missed for any reason and service cut off. No email, no call, no warning door tag. Nada. Entergy, my MUD, both provide communication, just like every other service provider in this day and age. The CenterPoint reconnect fee is twice the amount due, and must be paid to reconnect even if they didn't communicate with you. Now you've entered the corrupt cycle. The technician returns, often same day, and leaves the meter leaking.

As customers, we eat this month or two of corruption and move on, but it adds up — $50, $100 at a time across thousands of customer households.

Unacceptable, State of Texas, to allow this in a utility company. Get in there, clean this up, hold them to better standards, monitor them, and credit your residents for this ongoing scam. Every other entity, even the smallest of sole proprietorships in this State, is held to a higher standard. If CenterPoint ran any other business, they would be shut down for these unethical practices.

CenterPoint Energy reconnection of service.

Hi my name is Humayun khan Afridi and i am a service disabled veteran .We had service disconnected for about 3 days ago, today is the 1st of feb 2018, I paid the outstanding bill plus the same day reactivation charges which was 47 dollars. Lady was nice over the phone and told me that they will reactivate my service the same day. I told her that i wont be able to be there when someone arrives but my wife would be there . 1st attempt my wife couldnt answer the door . 2nd attempt when she did answer the door while on the phone with me, she gave him the phone so i could explain him about the reactivationand appliances but he quickly cut me off and said its my 2nd attempt and i cant do anything right now, you have to reschedule and plainly gave the phone back to my wife and left . So why there was a 2nd attempt ? this leaves us in the agony pf why wouldnt he do it when we have answered the door? paid the same day amount. I know for a fact that centerpoint is the only gas provider in this city of houston which doesnt give me the conveinience to switch somewhere else after what happened today It really left a bad taste in mouth about this company and their staff, we have twins they both are 20 months old kid, old mother and an expecting wife with out gas in the house . My question still remained unanswered that when there was a 2nd attempt and an adult was there then why my reactivation got cancelled due to not having an adult there my wife is 24 yrs old. but she looks younger than her age, this is a total stereo typing, I am gonna get u center point now watch.

CenterPoint Energy customer service and response

01/09/2018, Houston, Texas weather 40 - 50 degrees. Gas turned off. Payment made online 01/09/2018. Current situation, no gas in my home. 93 year old grandmother living with me. Customer Services help-line is truly helpless. Review of BBB complaints indicate this issue did not began recently. Based on ratings this is an ongoing issue: slow or no response, poor customer service, bullying customers. Is this acceptable? Does the weather contribute to your response time? Would this be acceptable for your mother?

I implore you to respond by days-end (5:00 p.m. 01/12/2018).

Thanks in advance for your prompt response and expeditious mitigation of this issue.

CenterPoint Energy disconnecting of service due to a centerpoint contractor damaging our meterbox

When arriving home from College Station on 12/27/17, there were 3 vehicles at our home and several men waiting in and out of our back yard. When asked what they were doing, the lead consultant from Ditco (spelling may not be correct) told me our meter mounting bracket was broken and we needed to get an electrician out to fix it! They were also in process of disconnecting our power. It was 40 degrees outside and 3:30 PM! Once looking at the damaged part it was obvious the consultant broke the mounting bracket when removing the meter. The CetnerPoint employee disconnecting the power agreed and told me the consultant wanted him to fix it. I then went to Home Depot after everyone left to purchase the new parts and paid an electrician to come out under an emergency contract to replace the broken mount. The electrician also agreed the mount had to have been broken when the meter was removed. After two attempts and cancellations of appointments by CenterPoint, we finally got a crew back out to reconnect the electricity at 11:00 PM. That crew also stated the same on how the unit was damaged. The total episode not only killed my evening, but cost me a total of $717.00!

CenterPoint Energy reckless centerpoint energy driver-lawton, ok-vehicle 9499

01/03/2018 - Approximately 7AM - Cache Road, Lawton, OK — CenterPoint Energy Truck #9499 drifting into my lane adjacent to my vehicle, about to hit my vehicle. I laid on my horn but this did NOT stop the driver. He continued to enter my lane almost hitting me even though I had continued to lay on the horn. Do not know why he did not SEE me or HEAR the continuous horn. I guess he expected me to move over or hit my brakes. Reckless CenterPoint Energy driver could have caused a serious accident.

CenterPoint Energy complaining about an exposed gas line outside my residence

My name is Jesus Holguin, 2807 Summer Grove Dr, Shreveport, LA 71118

I have been trying to get an exposed gas line buried outside my residence for a while now but I keep getting the run around and no one ever comes out. I first call in August 2017 but we had the big hurricane. I again in Oct 2017 I contacted to get line buried and no one ever came out. On 6 Nov I called again and again no one came out. I called back and I was told they had 10 days from the 7 to complete this. Was not completed. Call again on 22 Nov said they were backed up and they would be out to fix this between 27 Nov - 3 Dec. Again no one showed up. Call on 11 Dec Spoke with Supervisor Zachary M. ([protected]) He said someone would contact me within 48 hours or come by my home. No one called or came by. 14 Dec called again and this time they said that Chris the Tech in our area would contact me that day guaranteed and be taken care of . Again no contact. 15 Dec called again and said I never received a call and they said they have done all they can on there side just have to wait on Techs now. Today 18 Dec I call again and told them I had an emergency and might have leak on a exposed and they said they would send a Tech right out. Tech arrived at my home at 1000 am. Said he is not going to bury it he is just going to spray it and mark it to we don't accidentally run over it with lawn mower or anything.

CenterPoint Energy centerpoint energy

We completed and mailed the request for rebate offered by Centerpoint Energy October 12, 2017, after having a new 3.5 ton heating and air conditioning unit installed. The installers completed their portion of the forms and we our part. I called to request a rebate status report at the end of November and received no help whatsoever from Customer Service, was transferred to the Rebates Department line which did not and never has answered, the garbled name message is always that the garbled name rep is not at their desk. I tried again yesterday, customer service first then the useless transfer to the useless rebates garbled name phone. I called seven times yesterday, always the same garbled name message, left my name and number each time with absolutely no call back whatsoever.

Trying to be patient, I tried again today, same as yesterday and the times I have called before.

If I were asking something difficult or unreasonable I might be able to understand this horrible treatment, but all I asked for was a status report on the rebate -- the rebate Centerpoint Energy told me about with their bill inserts. I did not start this, Centerpoint Energy did and apparently is not trustworthy even to back up what they claim their policy is.

This is just my first stop. I'm giving you the chance to make this right before I go to the BBB and the authorities in Little Rock and D.C. Fraud is not very popular ever but is being scrutinized more closely than ever lately and dealt with.
