I recently purchased a (new) external hard drive from CDC Computers for $100. 2 days later I opened the package to install it and the hard drive is smashed!
No problem, grab the receipt and package up the drive and head back to CDC computers. I take the package to the service counter and the customer service rep looks at the drive and says to me there is nothing he can do as the drive is broken!
(Wow this guy is good) that is the reason I brought it back! I said I would like it replaced or my money back! And he said that I can't have either! I asked why and he replied «it did not come out the box like that". I looked at him and said "it sure did, are you calling me a liar?" and he replied "no, but it did not come out of the package like that". At this point I am very upset as this customer service rep has basically indicated 1) that I was lying and 2) that I broke it!
So I asked him "are going to make this right" and he replied «I can go to the better business bureau" now that is great customer service! Thank god I am only out $100, I can't imagine being screwed on a more expensive item! This was the first and last time I will deal with CDC computers! I immediately drove to Computer Boulevard and took the damaged drive to THEIR service department and the gentleman there offered to replace the case for the hard drive at cost, and it wasn't even his product or sale! Now that is how you treat a customer! I purchased another new drive from Computer Boulevard and they set it up for free. Thank god there are businesses out there that still care about the customer after the sale! Don't be ripped by CDC computers, save your time and your money and buy elsewhere!
