Our charity, Thursday's Child, has the only helpline for bullying victims in existence. And for self injury. It stands the only helpline listed with toll-free directory for missing children, child abuse, anorexia, bulimia, rape, date rape, child trafficking... 39 different and unique listings. But now, due to the fraud of one man, a Coldwell Banker real estate broker named Stephen Alan Glassman, who owns CB Property Management, in only a week, this national children's charity, might be put out of existence.

After 4 horrendous moves in only 8 years due to landlords either selling the property out from under us or walking away from their mortgage and leaving us in a foreclosed building, we were adamant about moving to a stable, long term rental. We put this in writing again and again. We received an email confirmation from the owner's agent that we could rent for ten years or more.

Added to the lease was a clause that Glassman added that read, THIS LEASE IS FOR A 2-YEAR TERM... WITH THE OPTION TO RENEW FOR ADDITIONAL TERMS. But three minutes before the New Year this year, Glassman sent an email stating that the clause he had written was meaningless; that it only meant that the owner could offer to renew the lease and that the owners was planning to sell and the lease would be going month to month and they were raising the rent till the house for the month or two we would be allowed to remain.

This was devastating. Thursday's Child raises 95% of its revenue to support its services through book sales on Amazon and through the sale of collectibles on eBay. It has an inventory of more than 50, 000 books with a combined weight of more than 20 tons. It took six months and ten days to move in at a cost of about $40, 000! In mid January, Glassman insisted they charity move out in one month.

As expected, despite the fact that Thursday's Child paid the increased rent under protest, in March, Glassman, on behalf of the owner, filed an unlawful detainer to evict the charity.

But Glassman did more than this. After the lease was signed by the charity and given to Baneggas with a nearly $9000 payment, Glassman took it upon himself to make changes by filling in blank lines to add things that were both in his and the owner's benefit. When confronted with the fact (as both we and the brokerage have copies of the lease we signed) Glassman said, "What changes?" And this was turned out to be just one small part of Glassman's fraud. In fact, in mid 2012, Glassman and his company, CB Property Mangement, were ordered to change their official location from a mailbox in a UPS store to an actual physical address. He did. Back to the Coldwell Banker location after Coldwell Banker had sent him a cease and desist letter, ordering him to not conduct his CB Property Management business from their Coldwell Banker location, since people might be led to believe that the CB in CB Property Management stood for Coldwell Banker. Glassman ignored the demand.

What will happen to the charity depends on the public's response to now have to purchase the property. Otherwise, thanks to Mr. Glassman and his greed, an charity that has helped nearly half a million children will have to close its doors. There is not enough money at present to even make another move.

This is a bogus post - probably written by the same person who posted above. It's too bad that anyone with an Internet connection can write lies about anyone. CB Property Managment is in good standing with the BRE and DOC. Check for yourself at www.dre.ca.gov

CB Property Management represents property owners and we evict tenants as instructed by owners. We also protect our owners from tenants who don't pay rent, damage/ destroy properties and vendors who try to take advantage of our owners (unapproved work, inflated bills, and unprofessional workmanship). We treat each property as if it was our own.

Readers please verify the person making these allegations and the so called "charity" - check Yelp, Google, LA Times, LA County Court Records, Ventura County Court records, State of CA, Department of Real Estate, etc. Also check court filings in Chatsworth, CA and Van Nuys, CA for both the Charity and Don Auston, AKA Donald Auston, AKA Austin for lawsuits filed by and against him (the State of California has barred Auston from filing any further lawsuits due to the number of lawsuits filed against persons and companies for financial gain).
