Catholic Guardian / Unfair Employment practices
Catholic Guardian provided a service by contract for Dept. of Juvenile Justice to provide a Non-Secure Detention house for boys from 16 years old and younger. Catholic Guardian had lost their contract due to bad management of that house by their supervisors and up to their internal management of their responsibilities regarding employment. Catholic Guardian only manages one NSD house and will not take responsibility for unfair wages by favoritism and offering false job opportunities with illegal job hiring tactics. The house is supposed to close due to the loss of contract on Janurary 20, 2011 and Catholic Guardian is offering current employees an opportunity to stay employed if they allow Catholic Guardian to lay you off and rehire you for a harder title for the rate of your current salary or the starting base rate or whichever is lower, vacation time and tenure gets wound back to new employee. And to add more salt to the wound if you refuse that offer they are offering 2% of our previous year salary plus the vacation time of the current year cashed out as severance pay. I say WOW to the company that's under the control of the Archdiocese of New York. This is not fair and can't be legal? I would greatly appreciate anyone who would step up and put a stop to this tragedy before it effect the lives and families of those that provide services like the child care workers, cooks and maintenance people. Thank you for at least providing a place to vent.
