Cash4Gold Holdings Stolen Jewelry

I mailed in approximately $1500 worth of jewelry and they are claiming they never received it, not has it been returned back to me. I have sent them four e-mails and they won't respond. Basically, they have stolen my jewelry. They are a scam - don't fall for their phony ads. I am also lodging a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

I get so tired of self righteous people on this site, who slam and put down victims of scams! duh.. the purpose of Cash4 Gold is to put your money in an envelope and send it..2) a face to face seller can also inflate the price of the jewlrey. 3) I have taken jewelry to potential buyers and what ur saying is false, they also try to rip you off. Often offering to pay 40% less than what the jewelry is worth.

Lesson Ive learned with jewelry is more often than not their are a lot of crooks who will steal from you. I keep jewelry and pass it down to relatives, or keep as a keepsake.

I thought this site was to lodge a complaint and concern not to be bashed by know it alls who enjoy putting people down, because in their twisted mind it makes them feel superior

Anybody who would put their valuable items in an envelope and mail them (of course you would have them insured) to who-knows-who-at who-knows-where is, well, not very intelligent.

How do you know how much the item(s) are worth?
Do NOT use an appraisal - it is possibly 100% inflated for insurance recovery purposes.
Do not use what you paid for an item - you may have been sucker-punched in the beginning.

Do have the item(s) documented:
Photographs
Offers (NOT APPRAISALS) from a FACE TO FACE seller of the items.
For Gold or Silver (or other precious metals or stones) get the Actual or estimated weight.

In most towns (and almost all cities) you can take your "Stuff" to three or more potential buyers and get as much as you would through a "MAIL ORDER" buyer.

I sent a gold ring to Cash-4-Gold and received a check for 16.00. I personally sent them their check back and requested a return of my jewelry. It appears that they only pay for the gold. My ring has 12-14 nice sized diamonds in it. Are they making a much bigger profit frm the diamonds? I would have done better at the pawn shop! I was and still am extremely dissappointed with Cash-4-Gold

Cash4Gold Holdings rip off artists

I sent in a matching 14kt gold herringbone necklace and bracelet set and got 35.00 for it. It was as if my check was sent out when I called, because the agent said they were "sending it out today, " two weeks after I sent them my items and only after I called were they prompted to mail a check. To return the check, I tried calling the number on the cash4gold website and was given a long distance number to another company where no one answered and I left a message. I also e-mailed customer service. There is no info on the cash4gold website on returns, no FAQ page, no customer service info whatsoever. I guess I was eager to cash in so I didn't research. Didn't have to look too far after the fact for hundreds of complaints online. Beware! This is one of the worst scams going, and you should boycot stations that air their commercials and write to the stations saying you will report them to the FCC for airing scam commercials. We need to start calling networks on any commercials that mislead. This includes any product, from Seen On TV stuff to food to gold to pharmaceuticals. Enough is enough! Call or write the FCC and tell them you are telling everyone you know to do the same. It's a new day and we are ired of being mislead while networks make millions from these no good sponsors.

I must say that I have had much more satisfactory transaction-by-mail-experiences in the past two years in dealing with CASH-4-Gold.com, than my MOST RECENT SALES EXPERIENCE! The
only reason I was interested in selling some of my gold jewelry was
due to the "unprecedented" Gold Value of $1, 230.00 per ounce, as
of 06-14-2010 (per CNBC Cable News/"Squawk Box" Program, which constantly lists the stock market values as well as the current values of Precious Metals Market). However, I was DEEPLY
DISAPPOINTED to receive a check which was only worth one-third of approximate gold-per-ounce price; even though the itemized statement of values of gold-items-sold-by-mail outlined that I
had INDEED sold at least ONE OUNCE of GOLD in DKT Weight!
I suppose that TIMES OF STRUGGLING NATIONAL ECONOMIES
give way to Corporate Fraudulent Practices - Not EVERONE is
IGNORANT as to the current "values" of gold jewelry items in THE
PRESENT ECONOMY! I will NOT give any recommendations of
dealing with CASH4Gold.com to my friends EVER AGAIN!

As you can see above, it is really important to do your homework. As a person who sells gold to gold buyers, I've done some research and found that there are about 10 good questions to ask a gold and silver buyer before selecting them as the one to choose. A couple are:

1. What is their physical address? This may sound not important, but if you send your gold to a PO box and you and the buyer have a disagreement, it may be hard to follow up. Also too they have your precious metal! It is hard to knock on the door of a PO box. There is something about a business having a “physical” location.

2. What’s Their Security Policy to Protect Your Valuables While it’s at Their Facility/Warehouse? Just because there is insurance on the package that arrives, once it is signed off the insurance ends. So it is important to know what procedures they have in place within the company to insure that your gold does not get lost, mixed up, or even stolen. Good gold buyers have solid and strict policies and procedures that their employees must follow.

Cash4Gold Holdings Ridiculous Amount offered for my goods

Cash 4 Gold received my packet...full of gold rings, and sterling silver items (which they stated they take) and they offered me $0.56 cents for my items! They've got to be joking. I just asked them to return my stuff and to keep their lousy money. I didn't know they were a scam until after I sent my items and read some articles on the company and their business practices, now I understand what is going on.

I really dont see the problem. First of all, if you take the full weight of the gold items, multiply by 14/24 for 14 karat or 10/24 for 10 k youll find that the most you can expect is 50 or 60% of the weight. (we are not talking plated). Now, there is a refinary fee. ..perhaps as much as $60/oz.
say you send in 8 oz of 14K gold. Figure on about 4oz X 950/ozor $3800, less refinery of $200 or about $3600 max. Say a 10% profit, resulting in $3, 240. This comes to about $800/oz. This is the MOST you can expect. If you get $600/oz, i would be surprised.
Now, as for trust? Baloney. You would be betteroff going to several jewelers and getting a quote from them . They deal with refineries all the time. Even then, I would be surprised if you can get half the actual price of Gold, maybe $500/oz.

Good luck

Cash4Gold Holdings - terrible service

Hello, more than 6 weeks ago I sent away my envelope to cash4gold.com. Cash4Gold Holdings false advertising

I sent Cash4Gold an $800 engagement ring (I can verify this with a sales receipt and a jeweler’s appraisal) with the expectation that I would be paid something reasonable for it, I would have even been happy with $200. They sent me a check for $27.94 dated February 20th, 2009 which I received on March 3rd, 2009.

I was not happy with this amount and called them on March 5th to ask for the ring back. I was told that I was requesting a return past the date when they would refund my item. Apparently, their policy for returns is 10 days after the check is dated. When I informed Cash 4 Gold's customer service operator that I had received the check 2 days prior they told me that was none of their concern and that they would not refund the ring, nor increase the amount of compensation to me.

I feel that I have been robbed by this company and I have contacted the Florida State Attorney General's office for help in shutting down these deceptive business practices. Don’t do business with this company!

Forget the bigman comment! I'll wait for the day he loses something and begs for help. You have been robbed and I predict this company will be in legal trouble within the year! Here is what I will suggest also. It is deemed mail fraud and becomes a federal matter. You need to check this avenue and call the local FBI.

By right, in the jewelry trade, you should agree to the amount or else it should be returned to you. You might want to consult Jewelers Vigilance Board. I just dont have it handy.

Feel sad to see soooooooo many good people getting sucked in this scam.

Cash4Gold Holdings do not use fast cash option

Do not go for "fast cash" option. My wife and I recently sent 2 wedding rings with 3 diamonds each. We had purchased the rings in mayors, 18k gold, good quality diamonds. We went to 3 local pawn shops to sell the rings. One told us they'd give us $350. The second one $310, the third one $330.

We wanted a little more than that so we decided to try cash4gold. With all their advertisements of "eliminate the middle man" and the supposed "customer testimonials" we figured we'll at least get the $350. We sent the items, waited 2 weeks for our check (Thank god we didn't take their fast cash option which waives your right to dispute the amount you receive!). The check was for a whooping $67.70. That's right. Sixty seven dollars! What kind of bs offer is that? Even they weighed the rings at a little over 1/2 ounce of gold. The price per ounce of gold at the time was around $980! What kind of bs offer is $67 dollars for 1/2 ounce!?!?

I figured, it's got to be a mistake on their end. I called the customer service number and the person who answered the phone kept defending the $67 offer. He didn't have the "gold price knowledge" to realize that $67 for 1/2 ounce of gold was bs!

We returned their check and we are waiting to get the items back. Again, thank god we didn't try their much advertised "fast cash" option where they wire you the money but you can't argue the payment amount. Bs!

Cash4Gold Holdings Payment for gold

I saw an ad on TV about Cash 4 Gold buying old gold jewlery. The people in the commercial indicated they got good money for sending in their old gold jewlery. I logged in to the website and sked for a refiners return kit. I got the kit quickly and sent in my old gold jewlery. After a couple of weeks I got a check from them for $37.12, a fraction of the value of what I sent in. I called in and was told my jewlery had not been melted down yet and if I returned the check within 10 days I would get my original jewlery returned. I did return the check, it has been 10 days and no return of my jewlery yet.
If anyone files a suit or needs a legal complaint, I am willing to join in.
I was scammed by this company!

Cash4Gold Holdings thanks for nothing-no really nothing!

So I had some diamonds and gold and I thought hey I need the money bad (who doesn't) and I figured these guys were going to give me a return way better than any Pawn shop from the way they advertise...oh and they have a return deal. Sweet. WRONG. I was expecting at least 100.00...nope they sent me 25.00 bucks..so I called...no answer (go figure) so I left a message. TELL ME WHY have an answering machine when YOU don't call BACK?!? If they don't answer how can I tell them anything...how? oh and the check is sent out so late you are screwed...you can't send it back to them in time to get your stuff back. They sent me a letter saying they never got ANY communication from me about my DISATTIFICATION..so I HOPE YOU GET IT NOW!
I sent in two small diamonds in gold post and they gave me 2.00 bucks WHAT!? sure they were tiny but they costed WELL over 2.00 DOLLARS! Some stuff apparently had no precious gold so WHY DIDN"T I GET THAT STUFF BACK!? Karma sucks I hope your company goes down...file bankruptcy...lose YOUR jobs...it sucks companies like THIS stay in business while the GOOD ones go belly up.
HOw much did the people in your tv ad send you cuz for 500.00 dollars so they can take a vacation they musta ROBBED a pawn shop and sent you the store...otherwise I don't see how they made out THAT well...

So, I put on my Indiana Jones hat and did some digging. Here's what I found:

- ''ibuyoldgold.info" is a man named Don Pennington from Pennsylvania. If you go to ibuyoldgold.info, you will be redirected to a site called associatedcontent.com, a site that PAYS people to write content for them. The so called "review" is little more than a commercial for Cash4Gold, not an honest review of the service. Here's an example:

"Wanna better option? Of course you do! Got any old, ugly, broken jewelry around your house? Of course you do! Wanna get paid top dollar for your scrap gold, silver, and platinum? Of course you do! My friends at Cash4Gold.com have already helped thousands of good people just like you, through troubling financial times, and have paid out millions of dollars, to many who become regular customers. To be frank: You're just not gonna find a company that'll treat you better, answer all of you questions clearer, or pay you more, than Cash4Gold.com! Cash4Gold.com has been operating since 2001. They've since grown to being one of the largest, and most respected, precious metals refineries in the U.S., and they're the only precious metals refinery to be listed in "Inc. Magazine's" "500 Fastest-Growing Companies in America", for 2006 and 2007. And it's all based upon, fair dealings with sellers, honesty, and knock-your-socks-off service!"

Does that sound like an honest appraisal or a commercial?

This guy is a shill. A carnival barker.

- On this very forum, Pennington says he is a "former customer" yet in his commercial/review, he never once says anything about how much money he got or even if he actually ever used the service! COMPLETE ###! Remember, Don Pennington is being PAID to write this, and I'll wager that he got more money for lying about the service than he would if had actually used it.

- Pennington is a sad and bitter divorcee who, according to his associatedcontent.com profile, has but one interest: "Winning my children back".
Sad, huh?
Well almost as sad as this, his bio: "I'm just another throw-away Dad tryin' to make the child support". Apparently making the child support includes writing almost 400 articles for associatedcontent.com. In fact, I encourage you to not go to that site, as he may get paid for every visit. I did it for research and part of me hopes he gets money to pay his support with, but you don't need to do it.

Don, you asked for this by coming here and insulting people that have a legitimate gripe against a scam just so you can generate traffic for your Internet paycheck machine. Get a real ###ing job, ###.

PWND.

Cash4Gold Holdings rip off: paid me about 1/10th of the jewelery's value

I was fooled by Cash4Gold. Enticed by their tv commercials, unemployed and needed cash to buy gifts for my family for Christmas '08, I shipped my gold jewelry and silver quarters to Cash4Gold. Lured with FAST CASH option ($4.99 fee) where $ would be wire transferred to my checking account, I signed the fast cash form. There was a CATCH: choosing FAST CASH voided the "10 day return policy" meaning I would get stuck to whatever amount they would give me. HUGE MISTAKE!

WHAT I SENT:
1 0.39 cts marquis-cut diamond ring (my engagement ring)
1 gold wedding band with little diamonds (my husband's)
1 gold bracelet
7 gold earrings
1 white gold earring with little diamonds
2 gold pendants
1 gold ring
40 silver quarters ($10)

WHAT I GOT:
Cash4Gold paid me a TOTAL of $138.74.
The silver quarters worth $10 = Cash4Gold paid me ONLY $3.16. I would have gotten more value if I dropped those silver coins in a vending machine to buy junk food. This is an OUTRAGE!

The sad thing is I trusted them to be fair in appraising and paying me a fair price. Of course, I did not expect to get near the amount I paid for those jewelry, which is $1, 000+, but I expected MORE THAN $138.74. Since I waived the 10-day return policy in favor of "fast cash, " I'VE BEEN HAD. Basically, Cash4Gold gave me 1/10th of the money I paid for those jewelry. TOTAL RIP OFF!

Cash4Gold had a Super Bowl commercial...WOW! Do you know how Cash4Gold could afford the Super Bowl commercial? Because of FOOLS like me! BEWARE!

I am angry. I am humiliated. Please learn from my mistakes.

See photos of Cash4Gold purchase invoice and jewelry on my blog: http://h0dgep0dge-c.blogspot.com/2009/02/receipt-from-cash4gold-rip-off.html

Got a similar newscast in the Chicago area. Same story pretty much. I got the phone number of the www.progressive-environmental.com company. They are in Barrington, Illinois. [protected]. I called and they told me that they call you when they receive the material, tell me what they are willing to pay and if I say ok they send the check out the same day; if not they send the gold back at their expense the next day...payment in 24 hours from receipt.

Cash4Gold is a out and out ripoff. CNN says there are 388, 000 complanints so far against them. How do the authoritizes let them stay in buisness. Must be a payoff somewhere.

Wow. Just saw the sell you gold investigation on the Philly local station. Cash4Gold was the worst; not just a ripoff they steal outright!
Great station: rated the top 3 companys to sell gold on line to. Its an industrial refiner that has a precious metal refinery within. Go to www.progressive-environmental.com and click on the dollars for selling gold item. Good luck with the schmucks at cash4stupid people who are gullible to sell to them.

Cash4Gold Holdings misleading information about the company

A note from the ceo of cash4gold.com

Hi, my name is jeff aronson. I am the ceo of cash4gold.com. I would like to share with you a couple of facts about my company.

As you know, anyone can freely and anonymously publish anything on the web, regardless of whether it is true. Fortunately, a reputable company such as cash4gold can use that same freedom of expression to relay the truth about our business.

We prepay your shipping and insurance. When we receive your items, our experts promptly evaluate them. Then, cash4gold mails you a check.

I sent my pack and Ill tell you now the locket is worth $246 without the chain! If this company dares to send me a measly $19 or $46 dollar check I will sue the ### out of them, and if they say theyve already MELTED my jewelry, I will be the most angry customer theyve ever seen!

I sent some rings and earrings to cash4gold and received a check for £36.00...I demanded my money back as I knew they were worth much more. I took them to my local jeweller and received £120.00! I told the jeweller what had happened and she was absolutley appalled.

I don't believe any accusations are false. I sent in my gold back in November 2009 and according to your company it was lost and or stolen. No Insurance money was ever given to me because according to your fradulent company it was my fault for not contacting Cash 4 Gold after a supposed email was sent. I indeed contacted your company several times. I receive every single email someone sends whether spam or junk. I believe your company is full of liars and theives and if the accusations were not true I would either have revceived the money for my Gold or the maximum amount of Insurance money given. But I received neither and instead was told lies and was blamed for not contacting Cash 4 Gold. Case managers were switched and yet it is still my fault, I believe that is a load of BS and I feel No One should ever send any gold to your company! Your company is based on lies and thievery!

I sent 5 rings worth $1200 retail 10yrs ago to cash4gold and they sent me a check. I wasn't happy so I sent back the check. I called 14 days later and asked for my rings back. The rep said we still haven't received the check so I ask what can be done she said that she would cancel the check and send back my rings. I was happy with that until another Rep called me two days later and said I am sorry Mr. W We melted down your rings but take a check for $46.00 to instead of the $26.00 original check. I said that's BS and had no other choice but to take it. Two weeks later I got another check for $19.00 not $46.00. What can I do ? I called a Lawyer and I have the original papers from when I bought rings that tell the weight and Karat and the value of the diamonds that was not even close to what they valued it and I am planning to sue. If you have problems contact Better business bureau and search the web and tell your story so no one else can get scammed. One complaint makes a difference.

Ripoff...

Complaint Rating:
Company information:
Cash4Gold
Gunnison, Colorado
United States

I had seriously considered sending in my scrap gold jewelry to this company until I read the testimonials on this website. Thanks to everyone for the heads-up.

Here's what I did...I took my "Refiner's Gold Pack" and loaded it up with a bunch of old keys, about 60 cents worth of pennies, and a bunch of bottle caps and mailed it back to them with a note about their sorry business. At least they'll have to pay the postage for this slug package (I'm eager to see if they even say they received it, I'll check my "tracking number" in a few days, maybe two weeks...)! I'll let 'em have the sixty cents...If they're ripping people off this badly, they must need the money even more than I do. I'll just take my old jewelry to a jeweler or pawn shop. Once again, thanks to everybody here. I almost fell for it...

Cash4Gold Holdings Mail Fraud

I applied for a Cash4Gold secured envelope to be sent to me to put my jelewy (all gold with some diamond rings) in it and send it back to them to get money for it.
I mailed it driectly from the post office-handed directly to the clerk. This was January 2, 2009. I contacted Cash 4 Gold about my check and they gave me some song and dance that the package never arrived (yet they could tell me what my number was they assigned to me just by my name-seems a little fishy) and told me to go on some bogus inspector general website to file a complaint (the post office clerk told me the other day that is not how you investigate mailk fraud and/or missing mail); the Cash 4 Gold clerk also told me that this hotline would give me some number, for me to value my jewelry and then they would just send me a check for the amount (how awfully trusting of them I am telling the truth.) I am going to file a complaint with the government for mail fraud and scams as it is federal crime to accept packages and tell the consumer they didn't arrive and give out bogus website addresses for the govt telling the consumer the govt will help you get your money.
Any leads would be much appreciated! These people are crooks!

Cash 4 Gold is a complete scam. I received a call from customer service saying the my ring had been damaged and that the package was empty. Now, I am no rocket sciencist, but how can a ring be damaged and also missing!? When I called back from the message, they said that there were no contents in the sealed package. Sounds like someone needs to get there story straight. This was an 18K wedding band appraised at $1, 600. They saw an opportunity to rip me off! I am sure they have done this to many people before. If they have done this to you let me know and we will contact an attorney!

If it sounds too good to be true...it probably is! I would NEVER send jewelry by mail to anyone. If it is of value, it is best do deliver it personally.

By the way, they have a cash 4 gold kiosk in the mall here, I would imagine they do other places as well...that may have been a better bet. That way there is mall surveillance of the transaction, you have met with a real person that can vouch for you...so on and so forth.

I was always skeptical of those commercials...I even wondered how many people were going to send in stolen jewelry...can't really get caught red-handed that way now could you. tsk tsk tsk

Oh my God! I have just read these complaints and I just cannot believe that they would actually be crooks!
I sent my gold pieces and a 8 diamond horse shoe shape and called the customer service and let them that before they sent me a check I needed to know how much it was evaluated for or how much appraisal amount would be

He assured that is what they would do, here is 2 months later and Ive been calling asking where is my check or have you received my jewelery and i would go on line and nothing and then I got a call after several attempts of leaving messages, " that i needed to get a hold of the Postal General and file a complaint due to maybe it being lost in the mail, I just couldn't believe it Ive worked for the US Postal as a mailhandler and worked in the bulk department and let me tell you we take very serious our mail that comes and any packages sealed correctly will be mail trust me! I now am convinced after reading all these comments that their is a huge scam going on! and needs to be investigated right away and get some restitution! this unbelievable.!

Very discontent and disappointed

I just want to thank everyone for the input. I thinking about sending a 14k white gold chain with a diamond cross . A jewler and a local pawn shop owner whom both put the chain on scale, 4.2oz. I was told 2, 500-3, 000 what it's worth, Im not going to give them the chance to run a mail problem or any other scams. Thank You

Cash4Gold Holdings Tltal ripoff and theives!!!!!

Total Rip Off!

I sent old gold and silver jewelry to Cash 4 Gold in October of 2008. After two weeks, I had heard nothing from them, and called, and was told my jewelry had no precious medal. If I wanted it back, I would have to pay $15.00. I called again today hoping to get another customer rep, but the same person answered the phone, and told me the same thing only now I can't get my jewelry back, because it's past the 10 days I had to request it back. I don't know how this place can do this! Please, do not send your jewelry to this company. It is a total SCAM. I also read on a website that even though they have the Better Business Bureau as a reference, they have the lowest rating anyone can have with the BBB. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is! Don't send them your jewelry!

This is true, I sent in alot of jewlery to them also a couple of 10k braclets, and two 10k rope necklaces, also some rings and earrings and they sent me 55.00 dollars. I later found out about the rip off thing with them. If I would have known I wouldn't have sent my stuff in. I feel like I got cheated. I had a friend that was going to send her stuff in I told her not to, to go somewhere local and she did she had a rope necklace and braclet set with one ring and she got 100.00 dollars for it. So I know I was riped off. Do not use them.

It's called "trolling", Andrew. Kind of like the internet version of a prank call.

Most of the time, the troll's aim is to get people like you to make comments like the one you made.
This was apparently a victory for the troll, as you played into it. Not the best troll, but I guess it worked (on you). Made me laugh, though.

I sent three rings into Cash4gold, one was my husbands big wedding band that had been cut off his finger after an accident, another was an older ring with small diamonds in it, and finally a plain small gold band. I got $12.41 for the three! Don't waste your gold or time with these places, especially this one. They say you can get your stuff back but they charge you $15.00 to get it back.

What a joke Cash4Gold is. I sent in a baggie full of gold chains and earrings. They sent me $27.00. I was expecting several hundred dollars since gold is over $800 an ounce. It also took 2 weeks for their check to arrive, not "24 hours." I fed-xed their check back to them demanding my gold back. I have not heard from them. What a ripoff.

I sent in my jewelry which was worth more than they set me a check for. I sent in a watch, a gold chain, earrings, a brooch that stated 18K, and three rings. They sent me a check for $25.45. The items that I sent, some of them were not on the itemized check that they sent me. I believe that they kept the most expensive items, and only paid me for junk. THIS COMPANY IS A RIPP OFF.

Yes cash4 gold is a true ripp off, here's my story, I have 30 yrs experience in the jewelry industry and know every thing there is to know about it. So i dicided to send in a man's platinum diamond ring. It weighs 16.90 dwt, Plat scrap today on the market is going for around 45 to 50
dollars for scrap, which is for broken jewelry. This was a real piece of jewelry that any man can ware. Jewelry that is not considered scrap is going for 60 to 70 dollars dwt I should have gotten at lease
$ 1000.00 for this ring with diamonds. They sent me a check for
$ 234.00 dollars. I got the ring back from them. When i had called them they told me who ever tested the ring tested it wrong. I got the ring back from them and on the envolope it said plat. Be careful of this company and do some home work before u go and sell any jewelry at all. submitted by---DJG

I sent in items that had value. 24k black hills gold pendant, rings, and gold necklaces. Items that had 24k Gold listed on them when they were provided to me. Over the years, I had several necklaces that I no longer use and could use the money since the price of gasoline was high at the time that I sent the packaged envelope.

Warning: Do not send any items to them. If they declare that the items have $0 value. They hold the items and you have to pay to have the items returned. This is truly a scam. You have to send them payment by check or money order to get the items returned while they continue to hold the items.

I am so upset with this experience. I really wish that I would not have sent the items now. Please learn from my mistake. I want to warn others so that they do not make the same mistake as I did.

I wish I would have done a little research before sending my gold and silver items to Cash4Gold. They really are nothing but crooks. I received my check on the 18th, of course on the check the date is the 11th. When I called the company you get transferred from one person to another but no one has an answer to your question.

Then they gave me a different number to call and said they would pull my items and send them back to me once they receiver their check back. Now I wonder, I should propably send it back certified so that they can not say they did not receive the check back. All I can say is that I better get everything back.

I also asked where on their website is a testimonial or comment place and the representative told me he did not know. So I told him he needs to find out. When he came back on the phone he said I should email the comment to the company...lol...what a joke.

People should get together and file a class action lawsuit against this company. Makes you wonder how these people sleep at night.

Several months ago I asked for and received a "mail in" envelope from Cash4Gold. I was told it would arrive in 3-4 business days. It arrived almost 3 weeks later. I put my jewelry in the envelope and sent it to Cash4Gold. Keep in mind that I had already taken the items to a pawn shop but didn't sell them because the price offered was very low because they really didn't want to buy more jewelry at that time. I can understand that, which is why I sent the jewelry to Cash4Gold. Despite their claim of the customer receiving a check in a few days, my check, in the amount of $28 and change, was not received for 3 months. I thought the original envelope had perhaps gotten lost in the mail and I called Cash4Gold and was told my claim had been processed. The processing date was about a week after I mailed the envelope. Given the postal system and weekends, I did not have a problem with that. I cannot understand the difference in what the pawn shop offered versus what I received from Cash4Gold. The pawn shop offered me $75.00, and even stated it was extremely low because they were not really interested in buying jewelry at that time. Unfortunately, the shop went out of business about 3 months later. I have no idea what took so long for the check to arrive. I called several times and each time I was told my check had been processed. After 2 months of waiting and calling, I gave up. By the time the check did arrive, the return period had expired so I felt like I was screwed and had no recourse.

Once you send your gold in don't they notify you beforehand what they are willing to offer for the gold? That's what they always say on the tv commercials. You can accept the amount or ask for your jewelry back. So I don't really understand how you felt ripped off. And I seriously can't imagine that there's only one pawn shop in your area, those places are everywhere.

Cash4Gold Holdings Rip Off

What a rip off! I sent them 2 rings and I already have a written appraisal from the jewelers where the items were purchased, which I might add...has been in business almost 35 years and is well respected. They wrote me back and said the rings were 12 K gold, not 14K, which is not true and that they were not sapphire and diamonds! Then you can talk to the idiots in customer service...who have no idea where they even work or what they do!

Good luck...what a bunch of nuts!

I just wanted to say Thanks to all the people who shared their ordeals, on here about Cash 4Gold. I said to my husband I was going to send some in just to see if it was scam or not, but now I guess I got my answer.

Can nothing be done about this company scamming people, or has anyone even tried, you can file complaints against the better business people and make them investigate. I don't know why people are allowed to get away with this, I really don't

But once again thanks for your information

This company should be called Pennies 4 Gold ! They are paying about $70/oz. for 12k gold! They also charge a shipping & handling fee to have your merchandise returned. Other than the fact they Scam you on the Value of the Gold, the staff seems friendly & helpful with basic questions. You would probably get a better return if you took it to your local pawn shop or jeweler.

I sent six 14 k gold rings with diamonds, a 14 k gold necklace, a 14 k gold braclet and some misc silver and gold. Cash 4 gold down graded all of my gold to 12 k when it was all clearley stamped 14 k. I sent cash 4 gold five 1/4 karat Diamonds they gave me $1.20 a dollar twenty. In all truth what i sent in to cash 4 gold waas worth arround $4, 000.00 Four thousand dollars and they sent me in return $82.76 yeah eighty-two dollars. I would advise anyone who is thinking about sending any jewlery in to cash 4 gold to not do so. Cash 4 gold is the biggest rip off. I called cash 4 gold and told them my problem at first they told me I was bacisly stuck with what they gave me but after an hour of phone calls a supervisor lady told me if i sent the check back to them she would send me my gold back. That was two weeks ago and I still have not seen my stuff returned. So I am waiting to see if they return all of my stuff.

I sent them a gold necklace that was 12Q and got a whopping 4.67. I sent a bunch of silver and got a whole 1.47 How much gold silver platinum would someone have to send in to get enough to go on vacation! Who the heck has that much?
Sure You can send the check back, but do you get your jewelry back?
I wouldn't send or recommend them to ANYONE! You might as well just throw the stuff in the trash if it is only worth $6.00.
I recommend you find another way to get money for your jewelry. Or have your own jeweler do it.
My views are that they get your jewelry which actually IS worth a substantial amount, but they tell you that it is low grade and send a pittance which is where they make their profit.
They should be shut down!

Hello I am Sidney Crosby Biological mother Tana Martin, I am having cash for gold in calgary charged for fraud and theft at the minimum and am having the city of calgary police order a restitution order for $4000.00. What happen to me was i sent in a 51.2 gram 22k gold bangle and the day the mailed the check they stoled melted my gold bangle. The check was mailed May 30, 2011 and I received it June 1, 2011. I returned the check with a written letter refusing a rip of 400.00. I demanded my 51.2 92% pure gold bangle back and on July 12, 2011 cash for gold in vancouver is demanding that i cash the check, but i did not and the police have it know with the envelopes and contracts. So it could take up 2 years but i will get my $4000.00 back.

Do u know how many robbery there have been, just because of this cash and gold business. I don't agree with this. People these days don't even feel safe wearing gold anymore. I would appropriate if all companies that deal with this cash for gold have memberships of their customers details, most of them don't do that, you just show them ID and anyone can get away with anything.

Cash4Gold Holdings delay and ripoff

I had a great deal of scrap gold jewelry to sell, and I chose Cash4Gold.com because they advertise the highest prices paid. I shipped them over 20 oz of gold jewelry via overnight mail. There were a lot of stones in the jewelry but I estimate that there must have been at least 8-10 oz of gold. This company advertises 24 hour turnaround on processing jewelry. They also have a "fast cash" option that allows them to wire the money directly into your bank account within another 24 hours - with the caveat that you lose the right to cancel the transaction within 10 days. I chose this option and based on their advertisement I expected the transaction to be complete within 48 hours of their receipt of my stuff.

They received my items on 7/1. When I had not heard from them on 7/3 I contacted their customer service, who advised me that the jewelry was still being processed (so much for the 24 hours) - then FINALLY they wired money into my account TODAY (7/9) which meant there was an 8-day turnaround. When I checked my bank I was stunned to see that they only paid me $196.64 when a local gold buyer had quoted me somewhere in the neighborhood of $2, 500-$3, 000.

I feel now that not only have I been grossly underpaid for the value of my jewelry but they took 8 days to complete the transaction - on top of that, since I chose the so-called "fast cash" option, I have no recourse of canceling the transaction and getting my gold back. Rip-off!

Followup to the complaint that I posted yesterday - after complaining to Cash4Gold, the company did offer to send the jewelry back to me upon receipt of a check from me for the original payment. As I no longer wish to have any dealings with this company, I opted to keep the money. The remainder of my complaint is still valid - they did not process my jewelry within the advertised time, and I still feel that I was grossly underpaid.

The CEO of the company also contacted me by phone and e-mail threatening to sue me if I do not remove my complaint altogether.

Looking at supposedly Michael Phelps and others have endorsed these crooks must be a fake advertisement. I sent them gold and it took 9 days for them to even acknowledge that they had received my materials. When I did receive my check it was a disgrace what they are paying people for their gold. I email them right off and requested my materials back and they offered me a additional amount of money when I refused to accept the pennies that they were offering then they instructed me to send the check back and they would return my items as soon as they received their check. I sent their check back priority mail and sent them a self address stamped priority envelope for my items to be returned because I did not want any excuses for returning my items it has been 9 days since they received their check back and I still have not received anything in the mail. I am going to contact the BBB in Tulsa, OK and inform them of this scam and make sure that all the people that I know do not use these crooks. They have made a killing off of people in the short time that they have been around. The good Lord do not like ugly he will fix these kinds of people. I feel real sorry for them when it comes around to their time to pay the cost at the day of judgement.

I sent 30 grams of 9ct gold, received a call saying it was not hall maked therefor worth less, I pointed out it makes no mention of this on the web site, so they offered me £190 for it, that was a quick increase in the gold price? I said there was 30 gms and she stated that the best they could offer was £200, another rapid increase in the price of gold, or maybe staff trying to make a quick profit at the expense of customers.?

Why would people send gold and even diamonds to a company that advertises on TV? I blame our educational system. It does nothing to teach critical thinking. As a result, we have a nation of gullible old fools. Fools who don't care that our children are not being taught to be careful of advertising promises. So our educational system never changes and people don't learn to take the time to think when it comes to cons, scams, and hoaxes. I hate to see people suffer, but, unfortunately, they're getting exactly what they deserve. This won't change until we overhaul what is taught in grades 1-6 throughout the USA.

Sounds like a scam from the beginning - i would NEVER send my gold AWAY to THEN receive a check later.
I brought my gold that I chose to sell directly to a store - and received cash on the spot and i was very pleased w. the whole transaction, that took about 15 minutes -
Its the much better/smarter way to do it...

I want to thank everyone for taking time to share their experiences. This type of forum via the internet is so useful. I was seeing the catchy Cash4Gold commercials several times per day and was not considering using them. Then I remembered that I had two 10K gold class rings that I never wear. I looked through their company web site to understand the process and risks. I then realized that putting the items in someone else's hands before the value was determined makes me a little uneasy as does the very limited time to respond to their offer. After reading the posted experiences and other negative ones found via Google search, I'll look to sell them locally face-to-face when I'm ready. Thanks again.

I am also very disappointed with the amount of money I received for the gold I sent in. 26.07 for 2 thick/heavy 10kt rings one with 3 diamonds, and 3 smaller 10-14kt. I will say that when I called they did offer to double my money without much complaining on my part. I just didn't realize that they would pay so little for gold that is supposed to be so valuable, it just does not seem fair. I would never do this again, and I would suggest to anyone else not to do it either.

Cash4Gold Holdings fraud & scam

Cash4gold is a big fraud, they are issuing fake checks and they sent me one, here's my story: I sent some gold jewelry to cash4gold on the first week of april 2008, which I estimated to be worth more than $100. More than a week after, they sent me a check in the amount $7.93 which was pretty disappointing but I somehow managed to just accept and decided to deposit it to my bank.

After about 1 month, the check did not clear and my bank returned the check to me in the mail informing me that "this is not a check" as the routing number written on the bottom of the check is unverifiable and not in the correct format. They advised me to call the issuing bank and verify if the check is valid and if cash4gold (I told them the account# in the check) has an account with them. For the puny amount amount of $7.93, I was still hoping that this would be a valid check but the person I was talking to confirmed that cash4gold's account number written on the check is "non-existent", and the routing number in tech check is not their routing number. So that person confirmed that the check is indeed fake.

I still have the check with me as proof. I'm also reporting this to the ftc, fbi, bbb, & usps (For using the mail system to operate fraud). If you have been victimized by this company and you still have the check that they issued to you then please keep it as proof and please report them to the ftc, fbi, bbb & usps (For using the mail system to operate fraud).

This company should be taken down and be prosecuted for fraud!

I sent 4 packs to CASH 4 GOLD with several pieces of jewelry to test out their service. I read all of the Terms and Conditions and even insured my packs as requested by them. I contacted their customer service department and asked several questions before sending my packs. Their service was very proffessional and proficiant.

For those of you complaining about their service, maybe you should learn to Read and follow directions. After receiving all of my checks I called their customer service department again. It was explained to me that what they are interested in is th pure precious metal contained in the items, not their artistic value, that stores sell you when you purchase them.

I also requested that my items be returned, they advised me to send back my payment and they would return my items. Again this was listed on their Terms and Conditions. The representative verified my address and my items were received and signed for within 7 days.

We all know things are tough out there, but as a consumer we all have the responsibilty to read and understand these conditions. If you think any company is going to give you money to pay off all your bills. Then you are sorely mistaken.

Just because you did not receive the outcome you were looking for, is no reason to bad mouth anyone, remember you are the consumer. So before you blame someone for your mistakes, Read the TERMS AND CONDITIONS and follow through.

I always search google for the company or product name and words like rants, complaints, fraud, scam. If you get a lot of hits first clue... Even if positive, they were most likely posted by the scammer to make you feel safe. Some may even create alternate websites that praise their product or services... Not sure but looks like cash4gold has created a few endorsement web sites...

I have seen many people claiming to be ripped off... I am just wondering why does no one file a complaint with the Postmaster General? If people are getting ripped off is this not Mail Fraud? I would figure it would be fairly easy for the Postmaster to validate this, would it not?

One big concern with cash4gold is how does it get away with some of the pawn shop laws. A 12 year old kid can not bring things to a pawn shop (stops them from stealing from mom, grandma, or other) Also, do they have to report anyone offering stolen property? Seriously if they operate their own refinery, etc, the stuff could be liquidated (literally) leaving no proof or evidence that can be used.

Oh and by the way, you realize that in most cases gold, silver, or platinum content in your goods may fall far short of the value of the property... For instance a working gold pocket watch will most likely get you $100 at a pawn shop, the actual gold in it may be worth $16, plus if it is an antique you could get more still at an antique dealer.

All and all, even if they are totally legit, they are a very dangerous organization as far as possibly promoting theft, or getting goofy people to send in valuable goods for their minimal gold content, etc.

Don't know why EBAY does not open such a service, you mail in to them your stuff, they appraise and setup the auction for you and take $20 plus 10% of the auction price?
