Carringtons Diabolical service

In March 2014 Craig measured our kitchen, invited us to the office 3 weeks later to see plan, sign contract and pay deposit for a kitchen valued at £11, 400. Surveyor arrives at house to " check the measurements " and finds they are incorrect by about 600 mm. I say forget it, you cannot supply what we signed up for, One whole unit on each side won't fit.
They come up with three cobbled together plans, the last of which offered to knock the inner cavity wall out to make more space. No thanks, I say again. Here in September we are still trying to get our deposit back. They are threatening to sue us for £6000 loss of profit, ( that is over 50% ) plus costs and interest

Carringtons Poor workmanship and coustomer care

We had a new kitchen and bedroom designed and fitted by this
shoddy so called company, threw out the whole process there were problems, from
them measuring up wrong so the whole design was wrong, to when they finally (after
4 months) the kitchen firstly being fitted they didn’t know what doors where
going where, the wrong size island, they had to change the ovens as they could
not fit them as per the design and they didn’t know what handles we picked over
4 months previous where going on the cupboards and draws.

Then after 6 weeks the cupboard door fell off due to the
over tightening of the top hinge screws which pulled the bottom hinge straight
off, they then came out after 2 weeks to temporarily fix the door until they
had the correct fixings to fix it, it has now been 18 weeks since and after
phoning every day since we keep getting fobbed off saying someone will be out
next week.

The Bedroom was a very similar story all measurements where
wrong, nothing fitted they had to go away and redesign and make everything fit
which again was 4 months of waiting.

All the time they tried to blame ourselves for plastering
walls with between 100-200mm of plaster not only on one wall but all the walls in
the kitchen and bedroom.

Carringtons Disingenuous design

They measured my kitchen, showed me a plan of what I wanted and I signed the contract believing that I would get what I had signed for. Wrong. The surveyor found the dimensions were incorrect and two cupboards and internal shelving would never fit, the initial measurements were so far out. Long story and 3 plans later they.want to knock the inside wall out of the bay to fit units. They refuse to refund my deposit saying I MUST have what they offer or I am in breech of contract. Utter con merchants. Paragraph in latest letter states the designers plan is only an impression, so they can alter what you asked for and you can do nothing about it. Avoid. Avoid avoid like the plague.

Carringtons Poor service

Worst company we have ever dealt with. Lack of communication was unbearable. Most units had to be moved or replaced once installed as in wrong place, damaged, even upside down.
Fitter only worked approx four hours a day, when he was bothered to turn up - which was less than 50% of the time, whilst we waited around or left the house unlocked.
Office staff at Carringtons did not know if fitter had arrived and, if he did not, had no idea of his whereabouts.
When we finally got hold of the kitchen designer and asked why he had not answered any of our emails, telephone calls or texts, he told us he was keeping his head down as he knew we were having problems.
After several emails listing outstanding issues we were told that they we're having meetings to discuss and rectify, we were then advised that no one at head office knew anything about our issues.
After several months with an unfinished kitchen we gave up and paid someone else to finish the job.
Turned an expected few weeks upheaval into several nightmare months, we wish we had never given our hard earned money to Carringtons.

Carringtons Absolutely awful after sales service

Absolutely awful after sales service! Kithcen fitted 12 months ago in that time a third of the doors have fallen off. the taps have had to be replaced and the oven is defective. Despite numerous attempts to get them to come and repair the defective items thye have refused unless we pay a £75 call out charge to come and look at their shoddy workmanship.

Avoid them like the plague!
