Carmel Financial has been calling us to set up a payment arrangement because we've fallen behind on our payments. I have explained to them that I don't have the money to make a payment, I don't know when I'll have the money, but as soon as I'm able, I will contact them. After I explain this, I hang up (as per instructions from my attorney) and they call back to yell at me!

If I hang up on them they call my cell phone, my husbands cell phone and then my husbands office phone. If he doesn't answer that, they start calling the reception desk to be transferred to him.

They called me 13 times yesterday (I talked to them on the 1st call) and when I demand to speak to a supervisor they hang up.

We mailed a harassment letter from our attorney stating our rights as a consumer and asked that they only contact us once a week (which, according to the FTC website, if they receive a request written or verbal they have to follow it) and they snicker and say "we can call as often as we want" They also claim they "never got the letter"

This company is shady at best and needs to be shut down. Their Customer Service Reps obviously aren't familiar with collection rules and regulations and they choose to try to bully their clients.

I have experience the same issues with them. Hursmant absolutely a scam company. Even if your making payments they will still call and harass you. Stay away from them and trust nothing they say!

If you value your financial well being do not do business with this ripoff company. They have in my opnion found a legal way to steal from the americal people. Stay away from them.

Worst case scenario is they put a lien on your house (depending on what your loan was for), or they file a 1099 on you and what you owe them turns into taxable income that you will owe the IRS for. Or pay them a settlement and try to save what's left of your credit.
They do NOT have attorneys in their collections department. They outsource for attorneys and are very stingy about wanting to pay for attorney representation.

I totally agree the same company calls me and does the same thing to me I have told them that I will pay them as soon as I can and I have asked them to quit calling me and they still call. A reprensative from there called my husband at work. My husband was told that if they wanted to fire him they could because bill collectors are not allowed to call his work. Thankfully they were nice enough and let him keep his job. Caramel Financial reps are very pushy. I am also dealing with a problem with the product I received the loan for. I have told them this and they are no way willing to work with me any suggestions I would appreciate it.
