CarId defective part, horrible return policy

These people play a good game Great website claiming fast delivery and a fantastic return policy Buyer BEWARE Power steering pump Part was sent four days longer than promised The part was defective and had a difficult phone conversation to get a return activated, representative said Two days a email will follow. Low and behold email came and I quote. Since you installed the part our policy is NO refund. Part was installed by a mechanic. So answer me this...how does one know the part is defective without placing in the vehicle? My car has been down for over 9 days cause of this issue, I have replaced it with another from a parts house which came the next day and works! Beware, there is a reason for cheap, wish I read reviews prior

CarId customer service

The product I received was as described. The ordering experience was a bad beyond belief and it is still going on. I ordered one item, approved the charges then they told me my order was incomplete. I went in and they had increased the quantity/shipping charges to 2. I changed it back to 1 and thought I was done. They again told me my order was incomplete. I thought since I had changed the quantity from 2 to 1 the ordering software wanted to re-confirm the charges. Wrong it ordered another set. I called right after correcting the quantity problem to insure I only had one set on order, they confirmed that. They shipped 2 and are now not responding to phone calls, etc. When the 2nd order arrived I refused it. 2 days later I got another e-mail saying my order was incomplete. They say they checked their phone records and there is no record that I called them but yet in my recent call log there it is on the day I say I called them. They made no notes in my file when I called and they have ask me for copies of e-mails they should have in their correspondence with me files. Completely unprofessional and I would caution anyone who is thinking of ordering from them to reconsider, there are a lot of companies that sell on line. This is for a set of truck steps so we are talking about $619.00 each time.

Sounds just like my experience. I ordered one item. A while later I checked my credit card statement on the internet and it showed that they had charged me for two. I called them up. They assured me that I had only ordered one. They told me to contact my credit card company. I did, and Wells Fargo showed that CARID had charged me TWICE. I called them back, and, again, they told me there was only one order.
About a week later, UPS delivers 2 of the same order. I refused one, so it went back to Carid. It was for $127.90. I watched the UPS tracking info, and when I saw that it had been returned, I checked my credit card statement. They had reimbursed me $90.90, short $36. I called them and asked why. First they told me that I had used two different names on my order. I told them that they asked for my name on one section, and the name on the credit card on another. I go by 'Bill', but my legal name is 'William', which is on the credit card. They said they would do some more checking.
Later, they said I had sent two different addresses, so they thought it was two different orders. I told them that on the order form, they asked for TWO different addresses. One for the billing address, and one for the shipping address. As it now stands, I have not gotten paid the other $36 I'm still owed, and I will NEVER do business with them again. I hope everyone that reads this will think twice about doing business with them. In my opinion, CARID is a RIPOFF!

CarId return policy scam

Do not use this Company. They have a scam on defective items returns saying to pay them for the new part through paypal and upon receipt of the defective part they will refund my money within 24-48 hours. It has been to weeks that they received it and when I call excuses that the account is to old and they cant return the money to paypal is just one of the excuses they give. Countless calls to them and 5 emails and everyone acts like they have never done a return before.

CarId customer service

“These guys are pretty much a joke. I wish I had goggled them before buying from them. Item was defective or missing parts. Still not sure. After two customer service reps, multiple pictures sent, two calls, ten emails, and try still couldn't tell me what was wrong. They kept telling me I needed these "clips" but could never provide me with a link, image, product number of anything that would help me get them. This of course we never mentioned on the listing of the item I bought. "Quick and easy" it said. They also refused to refund, not that you really get a refund anyway because of their ludicrous restocking fees on returned items. So, luckily for me, I said yes to Google purchase protection, and google saved the day and refunded me. CARiD really doesn't care about customer service. Don't be fooled by the slick website and false promises on their site. A quick google shows what they are really made of. ”

CarId returned two side mirrors

I ordered two side mirrors for my Mitsubishi Eclipse. When the mirrors arrived, the boxes were hanging open and nothing protecting the inside. Before they arrived my husband had fixed my mirrors and we didn't need them. So I got a return label to return them. I called and asked if I could put them in one box, because I felt it was safer to keep them together. I bought a strong box and bubble wrap and securely wrapped both mirrors in the box. I sent them by UPS Shipping and the total weight was 6.54 lbs. I heard nothing about my refund to my pay pal for two weeks. I called and was told they were received and in fine shape and I would get my refund. Someone name Wagner assured me I would get an email stating my refund. Instead, two days later I get another label! I call and get someone named Geraldo who put me on hold to check out why. He comes back and says they were saying only one mirror was received and manager would check into the matter. I hear nothing when I was told they would call back on Friday. I call today which is Monday and they say someone will call me. When I finally get the call, this guy says I will get my refund when I return the other mirror! I was so angry and told him they were both in one box and securely wrapped. He keeps repeating I will get my refund when I return the other mirror. I was so infuriated being called a liar, when I shipped and bought extra materials to pack them safely as to get my money refunded! I even told him the weight and he tried to say that proved nothing. I told him to listen to their recorded phone calls where Wagner told me they were received and arrived in fine condition! He just kept insulting me by saying when you return the other mirror you will get your refund. I don't even know if I will get my money for one mirror, because they clearly have screwed me over and I don't know what I can do! Do not use this company to buy anything at all! They are crooked and making a fortune by lying and not refunding people's money! I have posted against their crooked practices on FB also. I wish that someone would find a way to stop them from taking people's money. I am on SS and can't afford people stealing what little money I have. Carid is crooked and needs to be stopped for stealing!

I am happy to report that I used Pay Pal and finally went to them! They got me a full refund using my Tracking from UPS and the weight of the package! I am forever thankful to them. Don't use CARID, but ALWAYS use PAY PAL! I am so thankful to them getting my money back!

CarId product sent damaged! horrible customer service - fraud

these guys sent me a damaged sv style wing for my lamborghini which cost aprox $2800 then because i did not have the original packaging (which the installing shop accidentally discarded) they refuse to refund my money (even though i have an email saying from them guys would). after 2.5 months of hassles and multiple phone calls..these guys refused to refund my money. THE ABSOLUTE WORST AND horrible customer serivce is..ESP THE MANAGER Mr. Rojas (whoever made this clown the manager). To mail me a damaged item and then say that if the original box was decarded im out of luck..esp when i reported the damage the day this was received AND SENT THEM PICTURES OF THE DAMAGED ITEM RIGHT AWAY! horrible company...horrible customer service! They told me its not their problem and i can go get it fixed and there is no option to return or exchange this item... i hope NO ONE ever has to go thru this..ive never heard of a company which does not refund or exchange an item when you receive it damaged ! BEWARE ! DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE...THEY ARE CON ARTISTS AND THE ABSOLUTELY WORST. THEY SCREWED ME OUT OF $2800 !

CarId core charges on a steering wheel

In May I ordered a new steering wheel for my Ford F-150. I had very good experience with the sales agent and was willing to wait the nearly 30 days it took to have the part manufactured and delivered to me. They informed me there was a $150 core charge; I understand core charges, I've got a couple of tractors that I keep running and have had core charges for starters and carburetors. $150 seemed pretty excessive, but since I was going to get the charge back, I went ahead with the order. On June 5, I had the steering wheel installed. I tried calling CariD to get the return authorization but did not reach a person, I left voicemail but it was never returned. I am doing this work in my spare time and it was a couple of weeks before I could try again but had the same results. Life intervened and it was July before I was able to try again, this time I contacted the sales agent by email who responded saying that the return label would be sent and I could return the core for credit. I later received an email from "Jane Keen" who informed me that 20 days had passed and therefore I was no longer eligible to return the core for credit? What!?, the core is the same today as it was 4 weeks before. Note: The web site core instructions say NOTHING about a time limit. When I contacted her again, she replied, "sorry, the manufacturer has refused the return and we won't accept the core". That means that this was not a core charge, it was an additional $150 price added to the wheel charge. Either the manufacturer or CARiD have $150 that they should not have. Given that I placed the order over the phone, I was not informed of a 20 day limitation, in small print on the web site for the particular part, there is a statement about the 20 day limit. The company lied to my credit card company saying I was aware of the time limit -- I was not; my order was placed by phone, not by internet. They also say they will send you the return instructions and return label by e-mail. They never did, that was why I had to try contacting them without success. Stay away from these people, very far away.

CarId saa chrome trim kit

I ordered a 10 piece SAA window trim kit. It looked fine upon arrival, so Installed the 6 pillar pieces. When I went to install the last 4 window pieces I noticed small oxidized flaws/defects. I contacted CARiD for an exchange of the defective parts. They strung me along on the phone, asking the same questions over and over as though I wasn't telling them something they wanted to hear. Then they kept calling back asking the same things. I submitted photos to them via email. That started a back and forth of 26 emails where they strung me along and pretended they would do something, always asking for some further clarification on things I had repeated ad nauseam. Finally they said they could not exchange or accept a return on the defective parts because I had installed part of the kit. They wanted to SELL me the replacement parts, and not exchange just the defective pieces. They have the WORST customer service ever, they string you along, lie to you, and then tell you they can't help you. One reviewer claimed they gave him manufacturer contact information on a warranty issue that was 4 years old, but they told me they couldn't give out manufacturer contact information. Avoid doing business with this company.

CarId wheel order

I ordered a set of wheels trough Carid trough the telephone the Salesman Alex send me a link to finish order the Wheels were not delivered when promised it took them two weeks longer and then i did not get right fitment staggered width that i requested and hub centric rings were also not included, customer service is very rude and after wheels ship they will not correct any mistakes poor Customer service worst experience.

CarId covers

They are money hungry.Ordered seat covers...The headrest covers do not fit at all and are the wrong size. I tried to exchange it for the right product, but they don't care, won't take it back and didn't even offer to fix it. The products are over priced, look cheap and crappy! I paid way to much for this crappy product. They won't fix their own problem, they sewed it completely wrong. I will never use this company again and make sure to spread the word on how terrible they really are! Hopefully this review helps people and they don't have to go through this frustrating process. Don't waste your time with this company, just go somewhere else!

CarId fraudulent item descriptions

These guys advertise items, clearly listed, on their website. After you order, receive delivery, realize items are missing, waste 4+ hrs. On the phone & waiting for callbacks, they tell you that the manufacturer states the missing items are not included even though it is clearly stated in the item description on their website! I have been using the internet for purchasing for years & these are by far the worst people I have had the displeasure of dealing with in my history. Please don't waste your time with these clowns, it will only give you ulcers.

CarId customer service/ return policy

“Let me start by saying carid customer service is horrible. I order a set of headlights online which showed to be in stock. Waited 2 weeks with no response on shipping information before calling to find out they are in back order and would not be receiving them for another month. Finally recieved the order, a pair of spyder black euro headlight assemblies for a 2011 dodge 2500. Upon installing, both headlights shine to the left with no horizontal adjustment. Talk to carid and they advised that they would replace them once I sent the current pair back. Mind you I had already thrown the original assemblies away due to broken mounting tabs on both headlights. So now I am going to have to wait to drive my only means of transportation for 2 weeks until I receive the replacements. So I decided to purchase a second set of the same headlights to shorten the wait time. The second was recieved and I was refunded for the first set. The second set did the same thing. So I called and they said they could not refund for the second set due to me being out of 30 day warranty. Which they are going by the date of the first set ordered not the second set. So then I ordered a factory set from dodge, which by they way work fine. So now I have a pair of headlights from carid that I can do nothing with but get a replacement and go through this process a fourth time? Really? Oh by the way the customer service supervisor identified as TJ hung up on while explaining my issue to him. Good luck when ordering from carid”

CarId wrong part

Before I made a order for my truck I called Carid to make sure that the part would fit my truck. the salesperson told me it was the right part the following day I ordered it after ordering I felt a little strange so I start doing some research found out the part does not fit my vehicle I called them back after I ordered as if somebody can help me to see if that's the right part I told yes it would I left it go I did a little more research online finding out the parts still didn't fit I called them back once again they told me it would and they would get back to me after they call the manufacturer who makes the part to make sure fit my vehicle never received the call back so I called the manufacturer who made the part they told me it would be no way it would fit my truck so I called up cancel the order they told me it was shipped so I told them I need to get the right part they were supposed to give me a return postage email to me the day of the unit was supposed to be delivered never got it so I refused told UPS driver to send it back called them up told him I did that and now I'm finding out there going to charge me for sending it back and the part that they're going to send out to me to replace the part that was wrong they're going to charge me shipping on that I don't think so this company sales people needs to be trained on how to know the parts for peoples vehicles I was in sales and let me tell you this left a bad taste in my mouth and I will post this every site that I can to let people know not to buy from you guys
ps The right part will not be sent until they received the wrong part that was sent to me so now I have to wait an additional week or 2 weeks before I receive my part nice going guys GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE NOT ! oh by the way CARID here is my email if you like to contack me and here is the email that I used to order the part

CarId bad customer service

Just Horrible...worse than the worst eBayer!
I placed an order over the phone, because the website shows one picture in the description and a different picture when I added the item to the online shopping cart. The customer rep tells me that the item should ship out within 2-3 days and I also got an email stating that the estimated ship date is on 1/15/15 (2 days after order date 1/13). I called on Friday because I did not get a tracking number and the customer rep tells me they are a drop-ship company and will have to call the manufacturer...after several minutes on hold, I was told he could not ahold of the manufacturer and that he would send me an email with an update...which I never got. I called the following Monday and they tell me that it's a "Manufactured product" and it takes 5-7 days to ship-out and it will not ship until 1/21/15 from Mexico, not California where they originally stated the item will ship from. Then I asked to speak to the manager who basically called me a liar, because their service reps are trained properly and would not have told me it would have ship out in 2-3 days, because it's a "Manufactured Item" and that the email I received is an automated email, which goes out for all orders. Am I suppose to decipher through what the service rep tells me (will ship out of California within 2-3 days) and the automated email which corresponds with what the service rep told me? The conversation with the manager ended becoming an argument where he gave me a choice of cancelling my order or order something else, if I didn't want to wait for the item to ship. After reading the reviews online, it seems that this behavior is common with this company...If I had known this, I would have never spent money with this company. Companies like this should be put out of business by will of customers. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

(1/23/15) This is an update to my previous review:
Ordered on 1/13/15 and was told by phone sales rep and email confirmation the est. ship date was 1/15 and when I called to get tracking in on 1/15, I was told that this item is a "Manufactured Item" and it always take 5 to 7 days to ship out and ship out date was changed to 1/21. I called on 1/21 to get tracking info and the est. shipping date was changed again to 2/9/15. I don't understand how these people stay in business...probably launch a new website whenever business stops receiving orders. By the way, ONYX Enterprises (www.onyxenterprises.com) is the main company.

CarId poor service

I order a set of rims & locking lugs with the help of a Rep. for my truck. When the rims arrived they didn't fit my truck! At the time my truck was getting a lift kit installed by Rick's Pro Truck. Rick's Pro Truck couldn't remove my truck from his hydraulic lift till the CARID rims arrived. I called CARID and reported the problem andask them to overnight the rims. I was told there wasn't enough profit in the rims to spend the money to ship them overnight. After many phone calls and tell this joke of a company how bad of a bind they had me and Rick's Pro Truck in, I got the rims 3 weeks later. They did not do anything out of their way the fix the problem. This company just wants profits and does not care about the customer even if they messed up the order. I will never do business with this company again and I hope this site helps put them out of business. By the way, they also sent the wrong locking lug nuts. CARID IS THE MOST IMCOMPETENT PEOPLE I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE. You been warned!

CarId do not buy from carid

I ordered a Aries Bull Bar for my truck from them. I called because I wanted to make sure they had what I wanted. They told me YES... the bar I wanted was in stock... I asked him 2 times to make sure. He told me "I guarantee we have the part" his words! this was on Monday. Received a conformation email that my order was placed and that my CC had been charged for the amount. late Tuesday afternoon I get a email notifying me that the part is "out of stock"! Are you kidding me! So I called customer service(which is also BS) and told them the guaranteed we have it in stock story from their sales rep that I talked to when I placed the order, his response was "oh we are sorry about that, we have a different one in stock... "for $50 bucks more"! WOW! My response to that was... Well I don't have to say... You get it! NEVER will I do business with Carid...EVER.! Please do not buy anything at all from this place.

CarId poor customer services

Horrid Carid...Ordered parts online, received confirmation email and two days latter received email that order was voided. Called customer service to inquire why order was voided, had to leave message. Did not receive promised call back. Called later to sales because customer service closes at 6, but sales is open until 11. Sales representative could not determine why order was voided, but promised someone would call me following day. No call from Carid. Ordered parts from PartsGeek for same price and parts shipped next day. Would never order from Carid again!

CarId worst customer service ever

"i will never deal with this company again,

Mid june i emailed carid explaining i was going to place an order for parts and needed them by july 4th to install, explaining i would be taking time off to work on my vehicle, they said the order would arrive without any issues and everything was in stock. My order was close to $1500 by the time it was all placed, the sales person was very helpful and actually gave a discount. After sending the full amount and receiving the confirmation email everything went to hell.

The largest most important parts never arrived on time and i was notified they would be late only after the due date (Receiving a delay notice on july 8th stating the product would not ship till the 15th) . Why is it that i was not contacted sooner about this delay? I thought i would ask,

After calling the company and being placed on hold for over 30 minutes (Yes i hung up without speaking to a manager because i wont stay on hold that long) i sent an email asking about this and requesting a call from a manager. I received an email stating they would contact me within 24 hours (They called 5 days later after a 3rd email and left a voice mail asking me to call them) .

I could have purchased the same parts from a number of other companies, overall i am happy with the parts, but will never deal with carid again for any reason.

Worst customer service i have ever had, especially considering the measures taken to ensure this exact thing didn't happen. I strongly recommend not dealing with this company, unless you like being ignored or have forever to wait for your order. "

CarId carid did not deliver

The parts were to be delivered within about a week of order according to the CARiD web site. Near the end of that week I received a notice that it would be 4-6 weeks until delivery. I called several times to ensure the parts would be delivered after the 4-6 weeks and was told it would be; however, at the end of that delay I received another e-mail notifying me of an additional 4-6 week delay. What do they say...fool me once... CARiDdid process my refund fairly quickly after I cancelled the order.

CarId wrong merchandise-return policy

Do not order from this company. their return policy is horrendous! They delivered a damaged (it was even marked so) wrong mat for the back of my new SUV and are treating me like a criminal. I have NEVER been treated like this and have ordered hundreds of things over the internet. They should be put out of business.
