Cargo craft trailers ashley paulk and their dealer maccargo trailers / todd mcdermott sold us a 36' gooseneck cargo trailer. They have committed fraud by billing us for torsion suspension and providing spring suspension they did this with full knowledge. This was over $400.
They had a main bolt hanging out of the suspension hangers, discovered only by accident by me. This could have been the cause of a severe, possible fatal accident. They refused to pay the $350 we had to pay out of pocket to a mobile on site trailer repair man for repair and inspection.
The cross beam on the front of the gooseneck on this trailer had two huge rips in it - a total hazard. This was an additional $300 repair / weld job they have refused to pay for, take our calls for or acknowledge in any way.
This trailer is bent and pulls crooked.
Prior to the bolt and ripping beams this trailer did not come with the spare mounted which we supposedly payed for. Kind of like the suspension. The spare they provided came on a used rim and was just thrown into the cargo area of the trailer. There was a rip in the side of the trailers alumimium siding. There was no door stop for the side door. This trailer had tons of screws bored through the underneath of the gooseneck about 1 inch long. The rollers they installed on the back end of the trailer were ripping off of the steel beam they were welded to.
The ramp door is supposed to be heavy duty it is not. The brake wiring under this trailer runs through a huge hole they cut with a cutting torch in one of the main beams of the frame.
These people at cargo craft have no regard for public safety and should not be in business.
Cargo craft trailers are dangerous and poorly built. They need constant repair.
Todd mcdermott at maccargo, kevin palmer at cargo craft, and the owner ashley paulk are invlolved in a criminal enterprise to defraud consumers of their monies. They do not honor their warranty. They represent and sell one product and then knowingly provide another - this is fraud.
SO, Im Confused, I just went to the BBB and they have an A- rating yet here Im nervous of my choice in trailers now
Jesus people, put all this on the BBB site. It doesn't matter whether they are accredited or not, it WILL go on the site and WILL reflect their grade and WILL warn so many more people! Damn, I'm lucky, lucky, lucky to have stumbled upon this complaints board. Sure, do it here, but do it on the BBB site!
These should be called CARGO CRAP trailers. Yes welds are very poor. My new trailer had several wheel lugs that were stripped. Calling the company gets no results.
JUST BOUGHT A 4X6 "ELITE V" CARGO GRAFT.. THEY SHOULD BE CALLED CARGOCRAP
Bought a 4x6 "Elite V "cargo craft enclosed trailer new. Decided after 300 miles to take wheels off to get them balanced. On both wheel there were at least 2 lugs that were stripped. they must use an impact wrench set at around 100 lbs to put the nuts on. I was not able to get the nuts off with a 24 inch cross bar. Had to use a piece of pipe to assist in turning the cross bar. When i finally got the nuts i noticed the lugs were stripped at the end next to the wheel which leads me to believe that the impact wrench continued to turn even after the nut was tight. I have called the office in Texas several times, they have not returned my call.
DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!
Built a custom concession trailer with them a couple years and hardly anything was up to food code in Minnesota. I was a newbie and did not know what I needed, and trusting their word was not the right thing to do at all. I had to tear out a lot of things and replace them myself. The axle was too small and required a replacement. Both sinks broke in the first year. As you can see, i'm still very very bitter about the whole experience. I usually do not take the time to write bad reviews.
purchased a cargo craft vector v nose 18 foot plus v custom for a snow cone stand they built trailer the way they wanted to not to my specs. salesperson told me i had to live with some things. sorry way to do business. had warranty work done my grandkids at the age of 6 and 4 could have done better. it seems that all the cargo trailers companies only care about their money and not about their customers. cargo craft and topps trailers in bossier city, louisiana are not concerned about it. will not spend money with either again. would recomend that no one purchase from these people.
I justion bought a Forty foot. Enclosed trailer triple 9, 000 AXELS. 27000 lbs towing capabilities. These people put two 10000 jacks on it that'd 20000 lbs, And tell me there's nothing. They are gonna do about it please do not use this back yard operation
I am interested in Cargo trailer and looked at a 7X16 trailer at Fabcon Products in Leander Texas.The welding was very poor and I would not consider buying a trailer that had that poor welding
where it could be seen, just imagine what the welding is where I cannot see it Looks like they
do not care or have no quality inspection...
My less than four year old 14' Expedition Cargo Craft trailer purchased from Oklahoma Truck and Trailer in OKC, had a catastrophic event at 11AM on highway 82 just west of Lindsey, Texas on Friday, May 10, 2013. The RR spring hanger welds broke loose (faulty), the front shackle straightened out (see picture 5 - 8) pushing the tire into the fender, and the trailer body, frame, spring hanger, tire, fender and wheel were damaged or destroyed. The welds are defective (see pictures) and makes one wonder if any quality control procedures are in effect at Cargo Craft Trailers. I have no confidence in the integrity of this trailer and it is potentially dangerous to pull down the highway. If these welds are faulty, what other welds on this or any other Cargo Craft Trailer can anyone have confidence in? I had the trailer towed at my expense to T&T Trailers [protected]) at 2300 E. Hwy 82 in Gainesville, Texas for repair. Jerry at T & T will gladly discuss the problem and the repairs that were necessary to get the trailer back on the road.
I called the local dealer and they directed me to Cargo Craft of Texas. After calling them, I sent an email to Cargo Craft of Texas (laslik12@yahoo.com) detailing this problem on Monday, May 13, 2013 at 8:23 AM. As of this date, I have not heard a word from them. If you are considering a Cargo Craft Trailer in your future, buyer beware! Very poor construction, faulty manufacturing and a total lack of response to their customer may be in your future!
I just received a 6x12 V nose cargo craft inclosed trailer from the factory in Ambrose, GA.
The trailer looked shorter than a 6X12 and when measured, it was only 11- 1/2 feet measured from the tip of the V. (centerline)
I believe this is very misleading do to the fact that in my contract it lists everything except the actual dimensions. the trailer is only 9-1/2 feet long when measured from the usable rectangular shape.
When I called the guy on the other end did not seem to give a rats #!@ what I had to say.
The trailer appears to be good quality, but I am disappointed.
I just purchased a brand new 2009 cargo craft 6x10 V nose trailer, out of Hickory N C the trailer is only 2 months old been on the road a total of 5 times and today I discovered the left wheel has lost its dust cover, wheel bearings, and asso. parts. I notice a hole in the shaft to pin the locking nut in place but how did the carter pin come un-done slide out of the shaft the nut come loose to fall off what amazement and fright it was and still is for me just thinking of what could of happened when on the Interstate highway, (I'll be thinking of this scarey thought for some time to come thats for sure) and serving 36 months in vietnam straight thru is something to deal with every day and this incident today really really concerns and scares the hell out of me I could have hurt or killed inicent children or gran ma going at highway speeds let alone [censored] and the loss of life and/or limb I contacted my dealer and was treated professionally, courteous, with no problems with warrenty issues, we'll see how this turns out hope it's not a nite mere like you, wish me good luck, , hopefully I wont need it I feel the people I delt with are very good people and will aid me in anyway they can... We'll keep you posted...
