Care credit just put a $12,000 charge on a card I did not know I qualified for or received. The charge is for treatment from a chiropractor treatments I never got . I had canceled the tearipy session after I went to 2 treatments found out company was not doing treatments right . But the Doctor got my credit card number before I new I had a Care Credit card and put this charge on it , I found out a month later when I got a bill with fees and interest. Then care credit offered to take $6,000 for treatments I never received . They call me every day . I need help , I will join a class action suit . We're do we turn for help against this terrible Care Credit .

I to have been paying care credit for well over a year with a starting balance of $1800 and a current balance of $1649. After a year of payments of $120 per month! There is no effin way they are calculating that right. And I think they have a deal worked out with the vet to charge more when using their card. I have two dogs and one needed teeth pulled. I used care credit to pay for it. Nine teeth pulled $945. I couldn't believe it was so much. A year later took my other dog to a different vet and had his teeth cleaned and they charged $75. It off curiosity I asked what it typically costs for teeth to be pulled. They said the x ray roughly $60, $15 per tooth anesthesia roughly $60. That doesn't come out to $945. I explained why I asked and she said yes it sounds like they scammed me. They need to be punished for this. I can't pay $120 a month for the rest of my life. Any help with class action lawsuit info would be helpful

You have to love how Care Credit lowers your spending limit without notifying you. Therefore if you still owe anything they can hit you with outrageous interest fees. Then when you finally get your balance paid in full and save the card for emergencies, low and behold you find out that even with a card continuously paid on time and paid off they close your account. Then that leaves a mark on your credit score. Again something they done without any notification whatsoever. Then say it was based on a credit search.

I'm with you. I just realized they've been charging me interest even though I paid off the promotional purchases in time because I didn't contact them to tell them to apply the lump sum payments to the promotional purchases.

These guys are vermin who should go to jail rather than pay giant fines, which they can afford, so they can continue their vile practice of ripping poor people off and ruining their credit. Shameful . Ultimately the the people who should be in orange jump suits is the board of General Electric who own Care Credit.

I’m looking to file as well. They approved me with a limit of 15, 000 I had a dental procedure and had a $2600 balance. When COVID hit BEFORE ANY PAYMENTS WERE MISSED they reduced my limit without any warning to $3000 sending my interest charges through the roof and taking my monthly payment from $40 to $120.
They also only forgave 2 late fees as I tried to adjust and then told me they wouldn’t be removing anymore fees if they are assessed.

This has to be illegal

Any info regarding class action? I can’t take this anymore. They sold my account and I’ve been hounded since 2019. This was part of community debt (my ex husbands medical and vet bill.) How I got stuck with it, I’ll never know! But I have no money to pay this thing and I can’t take it.

I have had a CareCredit account in perfect standing since 2009. I noticed early on how bizarre it was that it was almost impossible to get the card paid down. Even making double payments after one year my balance would look like it hardly moved. I used the card for veterinary bills. My credit limit was $6, 400. I never maxed out that card. I kid you not my balance stayed at $5, 400 for over a year not moving even with making double payments. Come 2021 I attached a new bank account to my payment methods. On accident I used the savings account number instead of checking account number. I noticed my mistake immediately and made a second payment using the proper method. A few weeks later I get a letter in the mail telling me my account has been closed. When I call to find out why they say because I had a payment that bounced. First of all I did not have a payment that bounced. My payment went through on time! I called and spoke to customer service and told her that the payment actually went through it was a mistake by trying to process it through my checking account and she acknowledged my mistake and apologized that they closed my account over this. So tell me why they also charged me a $30 fee for this while also closing my account? I told the woman that having a returned payment is in the contract as being punishable by a fee not account closure. She had nothing to say. So I asked is my interest still at 26% even though they wrongfully closed my account for no reason at all in the middle of a pandemic when I could need my card for an emergency? Again crickets. I thought it was just me being delusional about the account balance never moving even though I made double payments. Well it wasn't just me! My brother had to apply for a Care Credit account to also handle vet bills for his dog. His balance was much less than mine at only 2, 500. He's been paying the card for over a year making double payments and his balance is down to 2100. How is that even possible! What are they doing? If you call them somehow they are able to mix up words to make it seem legit but there is just no way. The numbers don't add up. If my brother pays $150 a month for a year that's $1800 down even with 26% interest that should put a dent in a 2500 balance! This company is awful and very predatory! The length of promotion goes down each time, and if you sign up for paperless they don't notify you of your promotion ending. My husband and I had multiple surgeries and the differing lengths of promotion were not communicated. Sucked having my bill almost paid off to get hit with another $400 interest charge. 26% interest?!?! Is that even legal? This kind of company is the scum of the earth. You think it's a godsend so you can pay for what your insurance won't cover just to get screwed on the back end. Cutting up the card.

I can't believe I put in my whole comment which was quite long and then I lost it before I submitted it! Ugh! My mother is almost 80 years old she went to Aspen Dental on July 3rd they signed her up for Care Credit she needed her bottom Dentures replaced she still has not received them. Two weeks later she got a bill from Care Credit for automatic payment from a checking account beginning on the 26th of July. Not even 30 days. She was so upset she lives on a fixed income she only gets her social security deposit it at the same time every month she called and tried to speak to them they weren't nice didn't do anything for her. She couldn't even get a voice. She called Aspen Dental Aspen Dental said they can't interfere with that it's all Care Credit. She was so upset I called. I called and got the first representative Ronnie who made sure that I put my mother on the phone so that she could talk to me about my mom's account she refused to change the due date I tried to explain it's not even 30 days who bills and installment plan on less than 30 days nobody I know of. I explained to her that my mother's on a fixed income she only gets this amount at the specific time every month we need to change the day no she wouldn't do it and this is the payment cycle that they deal with this every 26 days blah blah blah would not listen to me. Finally I asked for a manager whose name is Diane she immediately would not say anything to me and demanded that I put my mother on the phone so I did and once you have my mother on the phone she started asking my mother to put my name on the account so that I could be responsible as well. And they will not change the date for her. So my mother was upset and said I guess I'll just have to pay the late fee. Thank God I read the billing because Care Credit charges from 28 to $ 39 dollars late fee if the payment is not received by 5 p.m. on the due date! I don't even know when he credit card companies that charge that much are you kidding me? I don't know why these people are even in business it amazes me. I find it so discouraging that they can do this this is an elderly woman on a fixed income and they won't change it I was floored and they were rude about it! How is it with all the complaints against this company that they're even still in business? Any class action suit Count Me In. I guess the Better Business Bureau is the next stop. Thanks for listening

I am 100% in for a class action lawsuit as well! They stopped sending me billing statements at home so I easily missed and overlooked the end of the 18 month period. All they did is tell me they don't know why I stopped receiving statements and to give them the updated address, I told them it's the SAME! Also the APR was not even included on the original contract I signed. They people are crooks and don't work with the customer at all! They need to be closed down for their crookedness!

Whenever this lawsuit happens, I am in on it too! This has to be the most scamming crap ever. Hospitals and dentist places must be getting a cut to foolishly lie to people about "if you pay on time, there will be not interest added".

I don't even remember how long ago this happened. I looked up my payment on my bank statement but it was archived. I'm guessing about 10 years ago I had dental work done. I had a flexible spending account at work and the funds available to pay. After payment is made to the provider, I turn in paperwork and received a check back from the Health account I held. I paid with Care Credit, on the advice of my dentist. They said zero percent interest. I had the money, as soon as the bill was received, I paid immediately. Lo and behold, the second statement came from them with a late charge of $50! I never paid and tried many, many times to talk to someone in management at Care Credit (GE). Anyway, they would not even talk to me. So I did not owe and I did not pay the $50. They then turned it over to a collection agency. Now it's $300! I did not pay. I thought there were limitations on how they could do this, but it is now at yet another collection agency. I just received it today, 9/22/18! I otherwise have perfect credit! Never a late payment and typically pay more than needed. They are crooks. But how can I get them to stop selling this to collection agencies. How long can they do this? Help. I will not pay what I do not OWE!

I have issues with them also. I had a revolving type synchrony bank care credit acct. First charge on acct with $6000 credt limit was $799 for glasses. A month later i added $3600. The first $799 had yo be paid off in 6 months. To avoid interest. The other charge was equal payments of about $160 / month dor 24 months. If you make other charges with different contract terms, why don't they send different statements? They were putting $27 a month towards a balance that had to be paid off by December (6 months) to avoid interest. I thought when the payment increased with the added amount, 24 months, no interest, they would put the entire payment against the balance to be paid off i 6 months. They purposefully make it ambiguous. I ended up paying interest on the $799 until i paid off the entire balance in july. Terrified they would try to hit me with interest on the $3600 if the entire balance wasn't paid in full by july 27. They also change due dates when you add something. And when you question the different due date, the say, flippantly, " read your statement" . It doesn't explain what they did or why on the statement. eggy1254@yahoo.com

I created a page on Facebook. Type Care Credit Card in search box and like please. So deceptive this company was sued in 2013 in a class action lawsuit and had to payout $13 million really chump change for them. But I'm sure a Law Firm will be setting a very high dollar amount this time. Like triple it!

I was tired of paying fees and interest on this card. I Just paid it off a few days ago...they just duplicated the transaction again and deducted over $1, 700 out of my checking! They take electronic payments but refund you your money 5-15 days snail mail from Utah. So meanwhile they get the interest on money I need in my pocket!

I agree totally! 8500.00 charge and somehow only got a 12 promotion period. My wife and I wasn't even aware. We thought it was interest free. On a $300 charge they gave a 6 month period. Long story short had half paid off they hit with almost 4000.00 in interest and now they won't work with me at all ...I will join the lawsuit too!

This care credit is a big rip off. They added $937.00 in interest on my account for 2017. I also had to cancel $40.00 credit security fee they were charging monthly. I haven't used the card for a year and my bill goes up every month after making payment. I'm so threw with them. Let's get that class action suit against them!

These people are a complete rip off I charged $3500 for surgery. They told me what to pay so I payed 3 to 4 times that amount. Got the bill down to below $1000. Before I knew it the bill went up to $3700 they say for interest. And they were charging interest every month. So I start paying more, weeks before the due date that way the interest would be lower. So they changed my due date to the date I paid them so they could collect more interest Please people these people only care about themselves. If there is a law suit please let me know.

I hate care credit. I spend $550 for surgery and paid the balance off before the promotion was up. I had a second surgery, spend $1330, promotion will be up in March 2017. Every time I looked at my statement it said I have a balance of $2850. When I called, they tried to explain all their little hitten fees. What a scam!

Our son needed braces so we found at western dental that they where a little cheaper and good quality, With a payment plan of 200.00 per month, We were paying my sons braces off that cost about 1, 200, After paying for months at about 200 per month the receptionist said we could pay at a lower payment per month, So we signed up for care credit with a co signer. The very first month the bill almost doubled, We couldn't believe it, I called to get on our original plan but care credit said I'm locked in and they wouldn't have a problem going after my co signer, we paid for several months at double the minimum due the bill got higher, The interest was out just wrong. Tried to talk to them over and over about the interest fees, tax fees, service fees and about 3 more fees, I called an attorney and he was glad to take the case but I had no retainer money, We had 3 kids at home and I was working my but off with laborers union underground construction, By the time I begged for a bill I owed over 3, 000 dollars, There was no talking to them, in fact they threatened to now go after my co signer, and I was making all payments but my bill was getting higher. I broke my back-neck both hips and replaced than the doctors found a massive tumor in my spine, a lot more and with a wife and three kids, My attorney filed a disability claim that care credit had me paying- Thank God, And care credit closed my case. But I had paid more for the braces than they cost because care credit-GE charged double the bill staring at 3, 000 and I only owed about 600, I won the case against care credit-class action I think, for the hole 3000 they charged me, , , , , , And care credit took it, 2, 500 and my account was closed, Now with Synchrony Finanical/care credit now wants proof of the suit and I can't find it. They know because they took the 2, 500 on a closed account, Can someone please tell me where I could find this information, I've talked to them 100s of time, And sometime the person says the check will be there in a week a week latter the same thing, Now I faxxed the supervisor showing the case was closed but she said they needed the order or they legally can take my money. thanks tony montiero, tonzz2020@at.net

As of today, I received a letter from them in conjunction with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau which I filed a complaint with two weeks ago! I also filed complaints with the following agencies: Florida Office of Financial Regulation

Florida Attorney General

Click on the file a complaint link

Consumer Financial Protection Bureau
https://help.consumerfinance.gov/app/confirm/refno/151014-002467

If you are not in the State of Florida, each state has the very same agencies statewide or in your county! File complaints with them. Be prepared to give dates, times, amounts, billing statements, proof of payments made or sent to Care Credit. They will also ask you to fax documents to them for their review.
I AM VERY HAPPY TO REPORT A RESOLUTION TO MY ISSUE WITH THEM... According to the letter I received in the mail today, I will be receiving a refund check within 7 to 10 days from Care Credit!
There is HOPE! and consumer protection agencies to protect and assist us with these shady, fraudulent, predatory companies!

YOU SHOULD NEVER PAY FOR SERVICES OR GOOD THAT YOU DID NOT RECEIVE! FIGHT BACK!

I pay my bill online, so I did not see the warning that I need to pay the bill in full to avoid entrust. The next month I went to pay my bill I noticed the payment went up to over $200 dollars. I'm thinking what is this. Then I started looking at the electronic statements and there was over $4000 dollars tacked on. What a scam, I had the money to pay it off but because I wasn't watching the small print after two year worth of payments I get blasted. I signed up for this in the dentist office. I just thought what a good deal. No Interest for medical. Sounded like a government subsidy program. But now I see it is just plan loan sharking to the extreme. If there is a class action law suit out there I need information to get in on it. This company needs to be brought to there knees. They want you to forget. Every effort should have been given to me to make sure I needed to pay this thing off. Like an email, phone call. Now I'm getting screwed to the max.

I pay my care credit bill online. This last payment notice they tack on over $4000 in interest. This is what I get for not reading my statement. I didn't realize there was a balloon payment. If you don't read the statement you will not see it. When I signed up in the dentist office this was not told to me. Just handed a dumb brochure. It was probable in the small print that you would have to read with a magnifying glass . This is loan sharking to the extreme. If there is a class action law suit I need information. I applied for care credit and never recieved any services. Found out my husband was been separated from the military so this procedure was an added expense we didn't need. Unfortunately the doctor already charged me. I am so upset and care credit basically told me they could not so anything! I won't let it go this easily, I will research to try to find out about starting a class action suit. These people are purely fraudulent!

Huge Scam! Is that the worst you can say about this company? You'll love this scenario. I borrowed $2, 000 from Care Credit for surgery on my dog. Ever month, during the 6 month grace period, I made regular payments electronically. I would set a payment up on or about the 15th with my bank, and the ach/wire would be posted to my Care Credit account on the 15th every month for 5 months. The total was due Dec 22, 2011 so I set it up to pay, IN FULL, electronically, in Dec 22, 2011. CareCredit refused the electronic payment and told my bank they would only accept a check for this payment. So, needless to say, the payment went by USPS and was received 5 days late on Dec 27, 2011 and I now owe $400 in interest. This is fraud. As a consumer, I should expect that my payments will be handled exactly like all the others. I made an error in judgment when I didn't double check to see if that last payment could be made in the same manner as all the others. However, I will be calling the Attorney General's Office for the State of Maryland and filing a complaint.

I agree this company is huge scam. HOWEVER, to the people who are complaining about being slammed with interest after the interest free period, you have no right to be ###. It clearly states that if you do not pay off the balance during the promotional period, you get charged interest for the ENTIRE INITIAL BALANCE. Honestly, that's just stupidity on your part for not reading the most basic part of the agreement.
