bad food, bad service, bad advertisment
Last Sat. 7/17, my mom & I went to lunch at Oneonta Captain D's. When we first got there, I waited to place our orders & the girl behind the counter was talking on the phone. She never looked up nor said anything so I stood there & waited for a full 5 minutes. When she got off of the phone she never greeted me or said one word except frowned & said "is it for here or to go"? I said "for here" & then she ask me what "I wanted". That's it nothing more nothing less. We had seen the new shrimp basket ad on tv & decided to try it. I guess this was our mistake because what is seen on tv is NEVER as it seems in person. The tiny pieces of "shrimp" (about 10) was served to us on a big black plate & rattled when they rolled around on the plate. It was advertised that it was a quarter of a pound of shrimp served in a basket. there was no where near 1/4 of a pound of shrimp & certainly NO basket. Oh well, we couldn't have eaten the basket anyway but we could have eaten more shrimp. We didn't get the gravy that was advertised with the "basket" so I went up & told the girl at the counter & she looked at me like I was a joke. Never said anything to me but turned around & hollered to the back she needed two gravies, then she said to me, I'll bring them out to you. So, I said ok & went back to the table. My mom & I waited & waited for the gravey & when we got it it was cold & a white wattery substance that had NO taste. Nothing as it appeared on tv. We also ordered some fried green tomatoes & they were overcooked & hard. We only got cole slaw with our meal & it was ok but I have to admit the hush puppies were delicious. Also, we were charge 4.99 each when on tv it was advertised as 3.99. I wrote Capt. D"s a complaint & all I got was a message saying that they had received my message & would respond back to me. It has been 4 days now & I have heard nothing. Needless to say, with bad service, bad food & bad advertising, I don't think mom & I will be visiting Captain D's anytime soon.

cheating shysters
I made the mistake of joining The Captain D's "D's Club." I received a coupon for "Free Fish and Fries, with a free side of my choice, and two hush puppies." I went to redeem my coupon, and was told that Fish and Fries does not come with Fries. Another member of my party chose to have a baked potato as his choice of a 'free side.' He was charged .29 cents for it!
Captain D's is a bunch of lying, cheating shysters.
I deserve free french fries, a refund of .29 cents, and an additional free side item.
Thanks for your feedback! Sounds like there's been a bit of confusion and we apologize for the inconvenience. The Free Fish & Fries you get when joining the D's Club comes with 2 pieces of fish, hush puppies and one side which is fries, OR you can choose a different side instead of the fries, but ultimately it's one side you get for free. Also, some of our non-standard/premium sides may have an extra charge like the Baked Potato. This is noted in the email and the coupon but we'll see if there's a way to make that description clearer or more prominent! Big food mix up in customers. The lady tried to give what she thought was mine to someone else. Then when I told her it wasn't mine either because it had been there way too long she told the cook "he said it's been here too long" with a hateful voice. I went to CaptD today, about 3:10 pm, ordered deluxe seafood platter.As soon as I sat down, it was put up on the counter.It habeen sitting, wasn't cooked fresh, and the fish was very greasy, and the fries were barely warm, and were tough from cooling aI called to tell them about it and the manager was rude, to put it mildly.
I won't be going to that location again!
Beware of Horrible customer Service at The Captain D's at Both locations: On Wrightsboro Rd & Deans Bridge Rd, Augusta, GA! The Managers allow or encourage waitresses to be rude to customers; talk back to them, and spit in peoples' food!
