Capital One customer service

I signed up for a Capitol One Card back in March of 2017. Card came in, used it and never received a bill. I called in to find out what was going on, verified my information and they had no clue why I never received a bill. They then tell me to download the app on my phone and pay my bill there. Done and done. I have been consistent with paying my bill and even double paid to show good faith. Everything seems okay till I call the Customer Service Department. Capitol One like so many other companies outsources their call centers overseas and the customer experience literally goes to Hell. The reps are quick to talk over you and constantly put you on hold because they truly have no clue what the hell they are doing. They are also very rude and highly disrespectful. I have had 4 total different reps from the overseas call centers and domestic ones and every rep has given me a different answer to my question. Last night I had finally reached my wits end and spoke to a Supervisor who was even more disrespectful than her Reps. She would constantly over talk me and had an extremely condescending tone to her voice. She constantly kept asking me "What would you like me to do about it" when I asked her a question. I have been in Customer Service for over 20 years and dealt with tons of markets and companies and would never treat a customer like I was treated. It even amazes me that on the BBB 98 of the 114 reviews on here are Negative reviews. But when you pay for your Rating/"Accreditation", I guess you truly do not have to care about what people review about you. Because if this was a true non-accredited rating it would be a solid F. This company is absolutely Horrible. Customers beware!

Capital One won't take loan payoff

8/02/2017: trying to pay off car loan: want it on my credit card. There is NOTHING on the monthly statement saying that a credit card is not acceptable--yet the passive-aggressive phone kid, Jay UZ (which he SAYS is his 'designation') has kept me on the phone with his BS and on hold in excess of half an hour. THEN he hung up. VERY frustrated. VERY angry. By law--if there is no specificity regarding payment options; I do NOT have to surrender my banking info to these yahoos. And of course, for every day that they do not accept pay off--they charge MORE money. This is just WRONG!

Capital One account security

Hi my name is Jaysher Batson. I'm very upset with the service I've received recently. I got an at home job through O'Reilly Auto Parts from indeed.com but it was too good to be true. It was a scam and I reported the hiring manager and gave you the email address and phone number that was used to contact me. I also reported it to the credit bureau just in case of identity theft. Capital One is the only bank account I have and I also have 2 credit lines with you. I'm really upset because my account was closed abruptly. I was mailed a check from capital one with the remaining balance from my account. The check could not be cashed at Capital one and I tried several check cashing locations. Western Union told me I needed to void or cancel the check in order to move further but instead I went back to the Capital One in Queens Village. I waited for about an 1hr and the manager came back and said this check can only be deposited not cashed. This was crazy because the Account Security assured me that I can cash it. Anyway, I went to a Western Union and because the manager crossed the information (Capital One Richmond VA #'s..) out on the back I was unable to cash it once again. This time the teller told me you need to mail me another one in order to cash it. So I need to know what to do, and how to do it. I cannot get another bank account and I need my money now. Thank you for your consideration. P.S. I've left 3 messages and an email for the past 2 weeks with Account Security. Help right now would be greatly appreciated.

Capital One leased a new car in 2015, they repo it one day before my payment date.

I have leased a car in 2015. Been mostly on time with my payments until now. My husband is a disabled marine vet, we have a one year old son. I just lost my job two months ago and recently got a new one barely last month. So i couldnt pay the payments and gotten two months behind .. i have asked them to schedule an auto payment on my acc for tomorrow... July 26.2017.. they told me they cant do that (dont know why) so i ask to leave a note. They say the did. Today they repo my car. One day before i can pay my debt off. The whole amount! Which is $942. How ignorant they are to not call me or leave a voice mail or notify me. They pretty much screwed my family. We have a baby and a disables vet and no means of getting baby formula or me taking them both to their doc apps. Also no way of picking up the car from the towing company. If there is a way i can sue them for this. I will!

Very sorry for your situation, I too am in the the same boat as you with Capital One. As I reside in Maine, they were supposed to issue a RIGHT TO CURE following me and my wife's Chapter 7 bankruptcy before legally repossessing. Instead, they actually repossessed in June of this year (2017), actually on the very day I had scheduled a payment. The repo took place even though the required RIGHT TO CURE had not been re-issued (by state law, they had issued this before the Chapter 7 bankruptcy, however, in Maine, they would have also needed to do this again after the bankruptcy before being able to legally repossess). According to my lawyer, those "b[censor]" as he called them (and rightfully so) were in the wrong, but in his estimate, the legal cost to take them to task could potentially rival the sum of any eventual settlement. So, as we know, these guys really have a thing about kicking folks when they're down just because they can (sure, if you call, they will claim otherwise and sound as professional a d intelligent as possible, but words are words - actions are otherwise). Terrible thing they did that to you in your situation! My wife and I have two kids under the age of 5, and the repo guy was actually making threats while asking if my wife was my mother - I got in his face, and the threat of the police and a "class A" felony was probably the main thing headed off a physical confrontation. If you get this, feel free to send an email to warpousa@aim.com, if no class action lawsuits are possible, I think a data-dump detailing detailing what they've done to their "customers" made public on a high visibility website might be what is needed to get them to wise up to the effects of their "business practices". Back to your repo, I was wondering about the laws in your state --> HTTP://WWW.nationwidereposervices.com/?q=repo-company/west-virginia-repossession-laws . Did they even send you a RIGHT TO CURE?

Capital One credit card

‪Thank you for allowing me to reach thousands of users to tell my story about Capital One and their fraud practices. I am a victim of fraud because Capital One allowed my husband whom I am separated from to open up a card in my name. I didn't live at the address and the phone and email was not mine however they sent him a card. I was put in touch with the fraud dept Haley their "fraud dep specialist"? informed me my husband didn't commit fraud because after 17 years of marriage he knew my social and full name! I have been dealing with this trying to undue what they allowed to happen only to find after their exhaustive research they decided that I am responsible for the charges! Here's the kicker! I am not able to obtain any statements and was denied online access to what's been charged! Seems a little backwards now? Perhaps they should have asked for that before they mailed a card. I am filing complaints to all consumer websites Attorney General, Comm of Finance, Investor relations and anyone else. Capital One earned your name as the #worstcreditcardcomp. Yikes the complaints site! ‬

Capital One home loan

I applied and was conditionally approved. After talking with one of your agents I explained I make over 120K a year and rebuilding my credit. I was told that I don't qualify to get a lpan bc I work for the U.S. govt outside of the U.S. so what I understand is that you don't support troops in foreign countries. I want to talk to management I plan to take this complaint up as high as I possibly can if I have to take it public and make sure everyone knows you don't support our troops and veterans.

Capital One capital one 360

My account has been levied for $300 however Capital One is holding $2700. After numerous calls the rep said my acount would be closed on 7/10 which it wasn't then the next day they say it will be closed that day on 7/13. On 7/13 I called again and they said it won't be closed until 7/24. They closed my account without speaking to me about why and now I don't know when I will be receiving MY money from my account. I am tired of the incompetcy

Capital One venture credit card - fraud department

I was your client since 1995. Closed my account of $17, 200 in 2010 without ever missing a payment and I'm still paying for that closed account meaning that Capital One has ALL my information on file .I believed that by being a previous client with past and current excellent credit, it would be easier to obtain a credit card for traveling purposes. I was approved for $10, 000 and received my card only to see that it was restricted. I called and they kept asking for the same documents over and over even after admitting that they received them and explained that I would have to send them again and that they could not explain why they were not approved. Each time the person would refer to me as M'am because my voice has a high pitch, which I'm used to, but never had a problem for credit because of that. They even asked me to change my address on my Citi account and I even did that because at this point I just wanted to "prove" that I was me and send, as asked, a letter from the Branch Manager with all my information, name, address account and balance. I ask to go directly to a branch, they said it HAD to be done online. For over a few weeks I have been sending documents and every time I have to wait up to 72 hours for each document to be reviewed. I called to cancel the card they already sent, as it is obvious I cant prove that I am myself and I haven't been able to do that either. Plus they sent a fraud alert to the different Credit Agencies and I had to call each to clarify my identity, which happened without any inconvenience. I cant believe I had no trouble with the, but did with you. The last employee to help me told me that she was trying to contact a supervisor from the department that evaluate the documents because she was able to see that I was a previous client and that all the information matched except for the address, that I provided proof of. After 1 hour and 3 minutes she explained that the waiting time was about 20 minutes and that she would call me back. Still waiting since yesterday.

I have filed complaints with details of each call and documents to:
-Consumer Financial Protection Bureau
-BBB
and more...

Capital One denial of charges

My family went to Paris last week. My husband and I both have Capital One credit cards. My husband called Capital One 2 weeks prior to our trip, to report we were traveling to Paris. He was told there was no need to do this as our card has a chip. He told the rep to record it anyway. I then got an email from Capital one with a travel tip on 6/5/17 saying it was not necessary to call them even when traveling abroad because of the chip. We had put a deposit on our apartment in February. The rep from Guest Apartments let us into the apartment in Paris on 6/19. I gave him my card (which I had used to put down their deposit) to pay the rest of the week stay. My card was rejected. I called customer service and was told to try the card again. It was rejected 3 times. My husband said to put it on his card. It was also rejected. Capital one was sending us emails to verify, but I don't have email on my phone so could not answer. The rep told us he couldn't stay any longer and left. We were on the phone for hours. Finally the charge went through. My husband had spoken to a supervisor of the fraud dept also. He and I were both sent 4 digit codes to verify the charges, which we did. We were both guaranteed we would have no further problems. The next day my husband used his card while we were at a birthday dinner for my son at the Eiffel Tower. His card was declined. (We both have a $20, 000 limit on our cards). Very embarrassing. He called while at the Eiffel Tower and he was told a supervisor was not available. We used my American Express with no problem. He called customer service when we got back to the apartment and he got someone in South America again He asked for a supervisor in the US. He was sent to someone in Tampa Fl and she got him a supervisor in the fraud dept and finally he resolved the problem, but we were worried the rest of the trip. This ruined out trip. I do not want to give our credit card # on this site because I don't trust this site. But I will give our email address - [protected]@verizon.net. Joyce and Ed Sparkman

Capital One credit card

Date: [protected]
Client Number: [protected]
I got this credit card in the mail. They sent it to me and I'd never applied for it. I had the credit card for a while didn't use more than 1200.00 on the card. I lost my job and during that time I called them and informed them of what was going on. They ended up sending the account to collections with Blit and Gaine which has not been cooperative at all in this. I'm pregnant and single so I don't have any other source of income. They want me to pay them 2400.00 for a bill that is really 1200.00. I tried to give them my Income Tax in March but they said 1200 wasn't enough. So I called back today 6-30-17 and they are still asking for 2400.00 and I still don't have that. Now I don't have the 2400.00. I told the lady on the phone that's not a Settlement. 70% would have been 840.00. Im pregnant and I'm alone why are they doing this to me? This is so unfair to treat consumers this way. They have been harsh and this has got to stop. I'm willing to give a settlement that I can afford to give. I cant really afford to give the 700.00 but I'm trying to get this done. Please Help! Here is Blit and Gaine phone number [protected]

Capital One credit report

My name is Cecily Cammon. I have never applied for any Capital One services nor do I ever intend to apply for any Capital One services in the future. I recently checked my credit report to find that Capital One has been making weekly inquiries for the last two years! I I am outraged and this needs to stop right now. I expect to be contacted about this matter. I will check my credit report in 30 days. I do not expect to see any inquiries from Credit One or any One affiliates. If there are any inquiries from Credit One or any of Credit One affiliates comma I will have no choice but to take legal recourse in this matter.

Capital One malfeasance

I have had many Capital One credit cards and paid them all on time. My credit score didn't change much after years of no missed payments, so I cancelled them. I purchased a car and it was through Capital One Auto Finance. The loan was obtained March of 2012 and I paid on time. Early in 2015, I noticed I was being billed twice, so I called customer service, the rep. apologized and I was still marked late in April of 2015. In the fall of 2015 the same thing happened and I was upset. The rep. started an investigation, and I continued paying, yet I angered them, so they passive aggressively marked me late consecutively. I started disputing all three credit bureaus because the late payments due to malfeasance and were staggered all over the place. Because I called all three bureau corporate offices they got in sync and screwed me collectively. Good thing we made hard copies. I plan to file a Federal Lawsuit to make Credit Bureaus take responsibility for their complicit actions, their deliberate and intentional malfeasance regarding, Capital One Auto Finance. Credit Scores are abused by large companies and corporations because Congress allows it. State and Federal agencies appear to be in collusion with the highest bidder because people appear to lose even when the Laws are on their side. Despicable on the part of politicians to allow this kind of Malfeasant behavior to be ongoing within consumer protection agencies and companies like Capital One, TransUnion, Equifax, and Experian. The loan was paid off January of 2017. Capital One is the worst credit card company according to the Securities Exchange Commission and other consumer protection agencies, Capital One files the most fraudulent lawsuits against consumers, and collects by default and nothing changes. This practice was investigated.

Credit Bureaus manipulate Credit Scores, intentionally, so they do screw consumers for financial gain it appears. All three Credit Bureaus are all over the place in reporting information, so they knowingly keep credit scores low. I no longer have any accounts with Capital One. They were all paid with NO LATE payments. The loan I had, they said I owed two payments, yet did not. I paid on time, yet they wanted a month in advance which is outrageous. Capital One appears to double bill many consumers, according to our research and is the worst company in the country per many government agencies.

In early June 2016 I had hundreds of fraudulent transactions on my card in a 24 hour period. Capital One credit card

Capital one protects counterfeiters, not their cardholders. What's in your wallet ?
I had game of thrones dvds seasons 1&2. I ordered seasons 1-6 from ebay as I couldn't order just 3-6. The dvds would not play. They got to the warning screen and the disclaimer and froze up. Or they were glitchy - jumped around and the audio would cut out. I could rewind them and see whole scenes that would not play forward. Aggravating.
Counterfeit ? Ebay has a page explaining how to check by downloading the nero infotool, which I did. Http://www.Ebay.Co. Uk/gds/counterfeit-dvds-how-to-spot-them-and-what-to-do-with-them-/[protected]/g. Html
My original season 1&2 tested out as 2 layer 7. Xxgb. The ebay ones tested as single layer 4. Xxgb.
When I could get no response from the ebay seller, and my complaint to ebay expired without the seller providing me a pre-paid mailing label as required, I complained to capital one.
Capital one wants me to get a third party opinion on company letterhead or they consider the dvds genuine and the transaction valid. They also noted that I had not returned the dvds - what - so the crook can sell them, again ?
I found the entire dismissal of complaint dishonest and it has become clear to me that capital one protects counterfeit transactions at the cost of their customers. In my case, they say I am a liar because I can't "prove" the dvds are fakes.

Capital One harassment

Recently, I was hospitalized for a duration of time that overlapped my credit card payment due date. I was unable to access the Internet and could not make the credit card payment. Upon being released from the hospital, I checked my voicemail and found 12 messages left by a Capital One "agent" demanding the $341 dollar payment. I can understand companies want to be paid for their services, but this was (in my mind) a pittance and hardly warranted so many calls badgering for immediate payment. Ultimately, the payment was made 10 days late, but after being a customer for over 5 years it appears loyalty counts for nothing. As soon as I can pay the remaining balance I will NEVER use their service again.

Capital One high interest charges on a pre-owed vehicle

I purchased a pre-owed vehicle in 2011 and got financing from capital one. At the dealership I put down $3, 000 on a $26, 000 vehicle. My previous financing was by Toyota financial and I need more financing than they was willing to offer. So, I went with a capital one thinking they were a good trustworthy company. Now I'm almost at the end of my contract and I paid over $50, 000 for a car I initially brought for $26, 000. I'm a smart individual I would never imagine a company like capital one was a loan sharks; but they are. Like I said I expected that from ABC auto loans or a buy her pay here establishment but not capital one. I called the company in reference to this and also I no longer have a warranty on this vehicle pre-owned vehicle. I was transferred and transferred until I spoke with someone in the corporate office but still I had no real success.

Why is this company with its big name allow to loan shark car loans. Intelligent people trust them but they are scams and repaves. I thought they made their money honestly not by blind siding good people at dealership. They are the worse auto loan company out there they are like so many of those bank who mortgaged out loans to people and left them in debt. A big company like that shouldn't be allow to get away with this.

Capital One I received a phone call from [protected]

On Sept. 6, 2016 I received a phone call for the second time in now two months. Saying that my credit card was in good standing however, they were calling to offer me a lower interest rate. The first time it happened in August 2016 I called nto Capital One to report it and ask if that's how you do business. I was informed no that I would get an email offer. My card was cancelled and new one issued. This time I hung up as soon as I heard what they wanted and called into Capitalism One. They gave me this website and told me to report it. Capital One secured card

I went with Capital One because they said $99 deposit for a $200 limit. I thought, "Hey, meet me halfway." I was approved and gave them all the necessary information. Was told it would take two to three weeks to receive card AFTER deposit was acquired. Two to three weeks? My wife got a regular card from them last month and it took 5 days! But I digress... So I wait 17 days and got card today. It said on card to call and activate. I called and got a middle-eastern gentleman named "Leroy"... Can't be too many Indians named Leroy. But I digress... Leroy says my card has been flagged for fraudulent use. ...?! How, so? I haven't activated it?! Then he goes into a mantra about concerns for my identity being safe. Odd, my wife didn't do anything more than call and use an automated number to activate her card. After giving Leroy my name, phone and social security number, he says he's going to ask me some public record information to ensure I am who I am. At that point my patience departed and I said, "No, no, no, no, no. Cancel the account and send me back my $99. He says, "Uh, hold please." Then five minutes later comes back and starts flapping about me being responsible for any charges on the card. I'm like, "What charges?! YOU didn't ACTIVATE the card!" Leroy says just ignore anything I say that doesn't pertain to you. After rambling for three minutes telling me crap that has no bearing on my never-activated card, he says I'll get my money MAILED to me after two billing cycles... Two months? Two freaking months? Meanwhile they're making interest on my money for which I got nothing but grief. Told Leroy if I didn't get my money as stated, I would contact the Illinois Attorney General. Goodbye, Leroy. Man, if I read some of these horror stories beforehand I would have saved myself a month of horse&%#.

Jimmy,
I received this card in March of this year trying to establish some form of credit. I was approved for $49 deposit and $200 credit line, I added on another $100 for a $250 credit line. After 2 months of having card they close my account for suspicious activities. After calling several departments and getting no-where I decided to get legal help and I advise anyone else to do the same.

Capital One charged for first class airline tickets but received premium economy at check-in

On November 1, 2015, I purchased two First Class, round trip tickets from Boston to Rome on Alitalia using the Capital One Rewards Travel website. The tickets were purchased as a birthday present for my wife, but our entire trip was ruined by Capital One’s fraudulent activity.

On Saturday, July 16, 2016, the day we were supposed to depart for Rome (after flying all the way across the country from Los Angeles to Boston), I tried to check into our flight. Once I reached the seat selection screen on Alitalia’s website, I was only given the option to select Premium Economy seats notwithstanding the fact that I clearly purchased First Class tickets as evidenced by the attached reservations from the Capital One Reward Travel website. I immediately called Alitalia to ask why I could not check into First Class, and they said the tickets in their reservation system showed up as Premium Economy, not First Class. The Alitalia agent said I would need to discuss the discrepancy with whomever I purchased the tickets from.

I immediately called the Capital One phone number listed on my reservation receipt and spoke with Nanette S., Agent Sign AOC in Wilkes-Barre, PA. I explained the problem and asked that she put us in First Class on the flight we were booked on, or the other direct Alitalia flight scheduled earlier that same day. After spending over an hour on the phone, Nanette told me that despite my reservations clearly stating that I purchased First Class tickets, there must have been a computer error and she could not do anything for me. I then asked to speak with a supervisor, and she refused. Nanette then proceeded to tell me that my only choices were to accept a refund or pay to upgrade my tickets from Premium Economy to First Class! I was in such disbelief that I put her on speaker phone and asked her to repeat this so everyone else in the room could hear her response. In addition, I asked her to put it in writing and have attached a copy of her email to me stating the same thing.

I am still in complete disbelief that Capital One told me 10 hours before our flights that, even though I bought First Class tickets and had reservation receipts to prove it, my only choices were to accept a refund and rebook my tickets with someone else or pay to upgrade them from Premium Economy. I cannot explain to you how devastated my wife and I were, as she was literally brought to tears. Capital One completely defrauded us and callously destroyed a celebratory vacation that was planned eight and one half months in advance. We were left with no recourse and flew round trip in Premium Economy as evidenced by our attached boarding passes.

Capital One and its employee’s behavior was both fraudulent and abhorrent. I am asking to receive the two First Class, round trip tickets we purchased, although no compensation can alleviate the anguish caused to my family.

Capital One scam/ phone call received on 8/19/16

I was called by a man to lower my credit card interest. Capital one, American express, or discover cards. They see I m a candidate to do this, payments on time and you pay more than the minimum payment. I need to verify your card number..gives me first 4 numbers. I said this isn't a scam. You should have my numbers. He said, he was affilated with capital one and this is what they do after you've been with us for at least six months. I just need you to verify the right card for processing. Read numbers, asked when card expires, and said ok, he s sent it in to be done. Your zip code is? ok. You'll hear from capital one in 2 to 3 business days. Have a great day! When he didn't give me new interest, a flag went up. I called capital one and she told me it wasn't them. scam! I cancelled both of my cards for new ones! phone# [protected]...this is the number that called me. I am Holly Brown and my number is [protected]...if any questions.
